im thinking about xiaolin showdown and one of my major issues with it is the unexplored lore and backstory. Almost every thing is “1500 years ago” and none of the supporting characters were really...supported. But if I had my way this is how it could have been fixed:

In season 3, the monks were sent to train with Master Monk Guan but they find out that despite the calm demeanor he is quite strict. This was a one off episode ment to trick hannibal bean and call Rai “Bozo.”

This should have happened the same episode Chase was introduced. Because despite Guan and Chase’s relationship being part of the lore, the series never explored that. So to fix it, lets say that the monks meet Chase and Guan the same way they did in the series, especially that part when Chase lets the Monks go after losing to Guan. But once it becomes clear that Chase is a permanent threat, the monks leave Master Fung’s temple to train with Guan.

(While we are on the topic...Chase Young’s powers needs to be simplified. No more soup...because that literally has no impact on the story. Let’s just say he wanted to steal dojo because he wanted a more reliable way to search for shen gon wu. And when dojo didnt work out, he teamed up with Wuya by promising that he can help restore her body.)

This does a lot of things. The first thing it does is give the monks a change of scenery and gives them new challenges with Guan’s style of training. Imagine the monks becoming wudai warriors under Guan. It would have given Rai someone more difficult to learn under and I think Rai would learn a lot from Guan even if he resists. Omi would have had his ego depleted at least a tiny bit. Kimiko would have definitely appreciated Guan and I can see her being the only one adding to the temple with her use of tech. And I think Clay and Guan would realize that they are actually quite similar (calm kind guys with hidden strengths)

Another thing this would have done was open up the oppritunity for more dialogue with Guan about Grand Master Dashi AND Chase’s betrayal.

So Chase Young sees Guan, his nemesis, with his new team of monks and that’s what makes him decide to look for an apprentice. (Not some vague “chosen one” monologue) Chase spends a few episodes with Katnappe, Jack Spicer, and heck maybe even Omi. But none of it is long lived. Until he meets Jermaine.

Jermaine was Chase’s apprentice in season 2 but only for an episode. That should have been more perminent. And let’s say that he is as willing to stay on the Heylin side because Omi hurt his feelings and because Chase convinced him that true power really is on the Heylin side. Season 2 also had a his theme of xiaolin and heylin forces working together. So lets say that despite the animosity between Jermaine Omi and the rest of the monks, his kinship with them grew during all those “work together” episodes. But then it’s revealed that Chase wasn’t interested in any old wu, he was interested in the ying yo yo. And when it’s finally revealed, he uses it to steal Master Fung and Guan’s chi. This sets the series finale in motion and Wuya gets her permenant body. Jermaine sees true “evil” now and can no longer take it.

Jermaine then comes around and says that he wants to go back to his friends and rejoin the xiaolin side. But ironically, Chase was starting to enjoy being a teacher and kind of saw took this “betrayal” personal. And since he’s unable to cope with that, he turns Jermaine into one of his cats. Then the monks would have helped save him. So instead of Omi being the cat in that soccer battle during season 2’s finale, it would have been Jermaine.

And the wager should have been steep. It wouldn’t have been just for Jermaine’s freedom...it would have been power for power. If Chase won, he would get the monks elemental powers. If the monks won, Chase would forfeit his own powers.

Of course Chase looses, Jermaind is freed, and Chase no longer has the cat army or lizard thing.

So now Chase has lost Jermaine, the showdown, and his powers. At this point, his whole thing about “honor” would have went out the window and he would have tried attacking the monks again despite his loss. (Complete contrast to his first episode)

But then comes Monk Guan, chi restored, and he stops the second attack. Even though, in this version, it is obviously futile. But narratively this just sets up a visual foil for Chase and Guan’s rivalry. B/c everything Chase ever wanted, Guan already had.

Guan was a xiaolin master, Dashi liked Guan better (for reasons that could be explained next season!) and now (!) Guan has Jermaine.

The monks, including Jermaine, are promoted to Wudai Warrior

But to catch up, we find that Chase is indeed less powerful than he was before so he stays teamed up with Wuya but it isn’t working out. Chase isn’t completey defenseless, the only thing that has changed is his Cats and he is still a very competant worrior. But Wuya has her rock army and Chase just can’t compete with that as Wuya is a powerful witch. The two are at an even stand still.

Meanwhile the monks are growing powerful, Jermaine is there and is now part of the main cast. But good jack, remember him, let’s say that whole thing with his good half did happen. And good jack accidentally releases Hannibal Bean in the Ying Yang world.

And *somehow* Wuya has struck a deal with Hannibal Bean. Hannibal wants revenge against Chase Young who improsoned him in the first place. Let’s say he was the one who turned chase evil. Let’s say Chase was Hannibal’s “appeentice” but Chase betrayed him.

So Wuya betrays Chase for literally no reason other than for being evil and the fact that Chase did treat her like shit by not restoring her to her full power back in season two. Wuya and Hannibal lure Chase into the ying yang world and trap good him and good Jack in the Ying Yang world prison and leave.

Wuya and Hannibal immediately wreak havoc. You know how the world is in chaos and everything is on fire in season 2/3 finale. That happens immediately, first episode! Second at the least. And at first the monks don’t know why or what is going on. Guan doesnt know why Hannibal is back. But “Bad” Jack lets it slip that he gets visions from Good Jack and can communicate with his other half. (GASP)

So he knows what happens. Bad Jack doesn’t really want to get his good side back but Guan threatens him and Jack is forced to lead Guan and the monks to the prison seeking any answers.

Good Jack and Bad Jack’s connection are what lead them to the prison. The two are also reunited once everyone reaches the prison. But Chase just isn’t Chase anymore. He’s just very quiet and stoic. He’s very thin and pale. And he doesn’t even want to leave the prison. From his perspective, not only has Jermaine “betrayed” him, now Wuya has too. He has no powers and no home anyway so why even leave? Guan is like, “ok.”

But Jermaine feels really bad about this. And he yells at Monk Guan to do something. They can’t just leave him!

Guan pauses. Then walks up to Chase and is like “you’re the only one who has ever defeated Hannibal Bean. Come with us. We need your help.” Chase is like, “ I said I’m staying here. I’m not helping you.” And Guan says, “I wasn’t asking.”

The two fight and its pretty evenly matched until Guan says something personal, maybe about Dashi or maybe about losing his powers, and Chase gets distracted and Guan gains the upper hand. Chase is knocked out and Guan throw’s Chase’s non-responsive body over his shoulder. He looks pointedly at Jermaine as if to say, “isn’t this what you wanted?” But all he says out loud is a firm “let’s go.” It’s a pretty cruel victory.

The monks are in shock, so is Jack Spicer.

Pause.

Let’s talk about Jack. Let’s say that Jack has had his good side and bad side split for so long that his psyche can no longer fully merge. He’s not a complete Jack but a Good Jack and a Bad Jack with two distinct voices and personalities that are difficult for him to manage and control. So he has two pretty distinct voices and personalities inside his head. but more on that later.

Now the main arch of season 3 is that the monks have to make sense of the gray area between xiaolin and heylin/good and evil. They have to start working through what those things mean especially when they learn that Master Dashi did some pretty questionable things when it came to Guan and Chase. But more on that later. The monks are supposed to be warriors for “good” but now they have literally kidnapped Chase.

Chase is forced with the monks now but against his will. Guan has somehow magically bound him to the temple. Chase can’t leave the temple grounds and he always has two of Guan’s goons following him. Guan also punishes Chase for any behavior that he deemed “evil.” Maybe Guan locks him in a room or tower or something.

Eventually Chase says something about being held prisoner. Guan remarks that Chase has nowhere to go anyway and that he should be glad he is their prisoner.....unless he’d rather be Wuya and Hannibal’s prisoner. But Guan makes a deal with Chase. He is free to leave once Wuya and Hannibal are defeated and peace had vern restored. So the sooner Hannibal and Wuya are defeated, the sooner Chase can leave so it is in his best interest to help.

And it works, Chase is a suprisingly a good teacher of patience, meditation, balance, and spirituality. Maybe in a way that Guan wasn’t. He alao has a pretty solid plan to defeat Wuya and Hannibal and that plan is to slowly sew seeds of doubt in their relationship. Since Chase knows Wuya and Hannibal personally, he knows best how to do this effictively. With his help, the monks eventually win thier first xiaolin showdown, which, at this point, has been a long time.

But Guan, again, isn’t kind. There are comments about Chase’s loss, how Dashi fealt about him, etc, etc. And Chase, as a prisoner can’t do much about it. But Chase isnt perfect either. He is still quite the liar and a manipulator. He almost escapes by idk brainwashing and almost killing Clay. (Chase and Guan eventually have a heart to heart and make up, don’t worry!)

But back to the monks, who have now started taking sides! They are all starting to disagree with each other b/c again, we are in the grey area and everyone has a valid point. Jermaine and Kimiko think that they shouldnt be forcing Chase to help them or holding him prisoner. That makes them no better than the bad guys!

Clay and Raimundo think the ends justify the means, besides, why should they start being “nice” to Chase now. He wouldn’t do the same for them. There’s even an exchange when Jerimiah says, “how could you defend someone who calls you Bozo!” .. Rai responds, “how could you defend someone who turned you into a furry slave!” (idk make it funny but intense)

Omi does not know what to believe. So idk, he goes to visit Master Fung and finds that Jack Spicer had been staying there or atlerast visits often. Omi reunites with Jack and learns how je has embraced neutrality. (or something similar) Remeber good and bad Jack? The two can no longer fully merge and Jack has two distinct and independent consciousnesses inside of him. He has intense desires to be both good and bad and there is like a constant monologue between what feels like two people. Its like there is an angel and devil on Jack Spicer’s shoulder but these angels have some viscious arguments and Jack Spicer in turn has learned to the middle road and a chaotic neutral. This broaden perspective leads to him being the only character to reject dichotomies beteen good & evil. There is no xiaolin or heylin for Jack. This interests Omi who is very confused and conflicted. The two get closer until everything at Guan’s temple becomes too much for Omi and he moves out of the temple and in with Jack. No one really knows what good and evil is anymore. But Omi and Jack say screw it.

yeah i finally watched it the other day! my thoughts:

i liked how they explained vampirism as a genetic mutation so it was treated more scientific instead of like paranormal 

i liked how the vampires were actually able to be hurt. the only other vampires im really familiar with was from the vampire diaries and those dudes were damn near invincible (and after a while that kind of gets boring) so it was fun to see vampires that werent untouchable AND that didnt treat sunlight as a minor inconvenience to them but a real actual danger

i DIDNT like either of the love interests ldmkldfgjgkdgh (until like the Last episode when i mildly warmed up to ladislas but even then BARELY) 

first of all, they set up nacer from the start. his entire personality is just being nice. thats it. they didnt give that dude ANYTHING else. hes so fucken boring. not to mention ladislas, the other love interest, is a vampire and a main part of the plot so at least give nacer a fighting chance?? give him some Something!

i think leorio is gonna get Big Sad someday bc hes like, so normal compared to the other MCs, and also hes suuuuch a bleeding heart (i love him....) so i feel like thats gonna lead to some sadness for him once his friends start doing crazy shit or w/e 

also i predict that if he gets nen itll be like healing nen or st. does that even exist??? idk jack shit abt nen lmao 

i think that illumi has hypnosis powers or something, even just based on design alone. it could defs be for aesthetic (character design in hxh is wild), but his eyes look noticeably different from any other characters. also he was doing some freaky shit to killua. also i held this prediction before seeing the part where this is brought up so we’ll see if its right lmao 

as for this upcoming arc -  ruth and i are wondering if itll be similar to the vinsmoke drama in one piece - character goes back to abusive family, squad goes to rescue them...and then character refuses to be recused. w/sanji it was partially bc the vinsmokes threatened to kill zeff, his TRUE dad, but i predict in this case it could be more like the zoldyks saying ‘look killua these 3 weirdos showed up looking for you, convince them to leave or we’ll kill them’ and killua will be like, oh shit bc like.....think abt it. the vinsmokes targeted zeff (and not the strawhats) bc they knew they could easily kill him. same goes here, i assume - a family of trained assassins vs Good Good Fishing Rod Smell-Power Boy (who hasnt thrown a single punch yet), Lanky Dr Man With A Switchblade We Havent Seen Him Use Onscreen, and Mx 2 Wooden Sticks, Bloodlust, and Arachnophobia - 3 For 1 Deal! its a no-contest. so thats one thing i could see happening, potentially

President Trump will make a statement reacting to todays impeachment proceedings soon, an official familiar with the matter tells CNN. It will likely be a video.

The House has just voted to impeach President Trump for the second time making him the only US president to ever be impeached twice. The resolution passed 232 to 197.

The impeachment resolution the House voted on charges Trump with;a single article, incitement of insurrection, for his role in last weeks deadly Capitol riot.

The official said the plan is to post the video on whitehouse.gov. The Oval Office is under consideration as a location for recording the video. It could be posted sometime during the next couple of hours.

Another Washington representative, Herrera Beutler, on Wednesday detailed Trumps middling response to the riot including his attacks on Vice-President Mike Pence while Pence was hiding from the mob inside the Capitol and Trumps ignoring of Republican pleas to forcefully condemn the violence.

The Presidents offenses, in my reading of the Constitution, were impeachable based on the indisputable evidence we already have, she said in a statement.

I understand the argument that the best course is not to further inflame the country or alienate Republican voters. But I am a Republican voter.

Trump Calls For ‘no Violence’ As Congress Moves To Impeach Him For Role In Riot

This time, there will be more. Some Republican senators have called on Trump to resign, and even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he is undecided at this point.

Trump’s impeachment won’t lead to his removal even if he is convicted because of the timeline. The Senate is adjourned until Tuesday. The next day, Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president. But there’s another penalty the Constitution allows for as a result of a Senate conviction that could be appealing to some Republican senators banning Trump from holding “office” again.

While there is some debate as to the definition of “office” in the Constitution and whether that would apply to running for president or even Congress, that kind of public rebuke would send a strong message that Republicans are ready to move on from Trumpism.

As autumn approaches, the pressure on Bice from within her party appears to be lifting. Oklahoma GOP leaders have said nothing about her since party Chairman John Bennett posted a rebuke on Facebook in May following her Jan. 6 commission vote. Bennetts post is now blocked from public view, and he did not respond to a request for an interview.

Bice, who voted in January to oppose certification of the presidential result in Arizona, has repeatedly given the same explanation for her stance;on both the 2020 presidential election and the Capitol riot, positions she reiterated in an interview with CQ Roll Call.;

She said she wanted to make a statement about the integrity of state lawmakers control over how elections are administered, noting a 2020 state Supreme Court ruling that allowed voters to cast absentee ballots without getting them notarized.

Voting rights advocates said the measure would protect voters during the coronavirus pandemic, but state Republican lawmakers called the decision judicial overreach and rushed a party-line bill through the Legislature restoring the requirement.;

Oklahoma could have become a statistic like other states that had their election laws changed by judicial or executive decree, Bice said. For me, that was something that was very troubling.

Rep. Tom Rice, representing South Carolinas 7th Congressional District, voted to impeach Trump, though he had not spoken out publicly about his decision prior to the vote.

10 Republicans Cross Party Lines To Vote For Trump’s Second Impeachment

Some ambitious Republican senators have never been as on board the Trump train as the more feverish GOP members in the House, and the former might be open to convicting Trump. But their ambition cuts two ways on the one hand, voting to ban Trump opens a lane to carry the Republican mantle in 2024 and be the partys new standard-bearer, but, on the other, it has the potential to alienate many of the 74 million who voted for Trump, and whose votes they need.

Its a long shot that Trump would ultimately be convicted, because 17 Republicans would need to join Democrats to get the two-thirds majority needed for a conviction. But its growing clearer that a majority of the Senate will vote to convict him, reflecting the number of Americans who are in favor of impeachment, disapproved of the job Trump has done and voted for his opponent in the 2020 presidential election.

okay. all for the game has three books: the foxhole court (262 pages) the raven king (286 pages) and the king’s men (370 pages) and i finished it in 3 or 4 days i think

summary of the first book:

“Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He's short, he's fast, he's got a ton of potential—and he's the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher. Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn't need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed. But Neil's not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil's new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can't walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he's finally found someone and something worth fighting for.”

obviously it was written by a woman but she gets a pass because the majority of it is very well done and she didnt try and make it a story ABOUT being gay. in fact the romance doesnt even start until a bit into the series which i found surprising

as i said in an earlier post i liked that the main characters were a cohesive group, it wasnt just main character, love interest, and background noise. the plot didnt feel like just something in place to orchestrate the romance, it was more that the romance was an aspect of it.

the main characters are on a sports team (a fictional sport) and for the most part there are six men and three women. their team captain is a woman.

would i recommend this series? yeah, i would. i really enjoyed it. it wasnt predictable, rejected a lot of m/m fiction stereotypes and tropes, and the story was genuinely interesting. i quite honestly could not give less of a fuck about mainstream sports (im a karate gay) but the scenes where they are playing the game are actually really exciting with the way the author writes them. 

with that said, i have a complaint.

three of the main characters are gay. the main character, the love interest, and a third character who from the start is very very open about being gay. at first it was refreshing to have a character so out like that, but then i was waiting for him to be fleshed out more and he just... wasnt. it got a little better in the second and third book but for the entire series he was basically The Gay One. all of the characters come from some sort of rough background, and even his backstory completely centers around him being gay with not accepting parents and all that. he flirted around endlessly to the point of being predatory, even though he has a boyfriend he is supposedly very committed to??? he was a fun character but it was just disappointing.

and now for trigger warnings, because this series has some heavy shit. i want yall to take this as seriously as possible: this series has some heavy shit.

minor stuff: frequent smoking, drinking, and recreational drug use, casual homophobia towards The Gay One, and what i guess counts??? as a sex scene a couple times, but seriously blink and you might miss it. a john green novel is more nsfw than this. mentions of self harm and suicide, but not in-depth.

major stuff: F R E Q U E N T violence of varying severity, which is sometimes described sort of in detail, physical and psychological torture, parental abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, rape, and csa. the last two are not described in detail but are mentioned kind of frequently after that part of a characters backstory is revealed. also semi-major character death a few times.

im going to put specifics i found particularly jarring/concerning without spoiling under the cut

one of the (male) characters was subjected to prolonged and repeated sexual abuse at the hands of a foster brother starting from an unnamed age, but it was as young as seven. the specifics of the abuse are not described, but some of the things the abuser said are, with mentions of incest (biological not foster) although it never actually happened

the protagonist and a few other main characters walk in on one of the (male) characters being raped. this is not described, and i had to read it twice to understand that that was what was going on. the situation is immediately stopped.

this event is brought up later in a mocking manner by an antagonist.

the protagonist is subjected to prolonged psychological and physical torture at the hands of an antagonist trying to basically break the protagonist. the reader sees tidbits of it but the rest is skipped over, with the book resuming with the aftermath.

the protagonist is tortured with knives, cigarettes, and a lighter on one occasion. parts of this are described.

one of the characters was beaten by his mother throughout his childhood. this is mentioned not described.

one of the characters was sent to conversion therapy. this is mentioned but not described.

this is a lot but everything turns out to be okay in the end, with a lot of the abusers getting whats coming to them. if you think you can still read the books i highly recommend you to do so, its really worth it in my opinion.

Fuck it all to hell, you had told Finn, told him so many times that you’d felt like a parrot. It was only to be him and Clarke at this meeting with Anya. Just like Anya would only bring you and her second. Of course you’d been naïve to think either of them would keep their word. Clarke had definitely brought more than just Finn and Anya had brought a whole horde of warriors.

It had been inevitable at that point that someone was going to get an itchy finger and fire without meaning to. Unfortunately, that person had been on Clarke and Finn’s side. Bullets had rained down on your people and you had all retreated back with untrusting eyes falling on you. Why had you let Finn talk you into this? You were going to pay for how badly this had all turned out.

Tris had been hit with one of those bullets and from the sickly pale colour of Anya’s second you doubted she would be recovering anytime soon. No one within your own tribe had the medical skills to heal bullet wounds. Poison and arrow’s yes, but bullets? There was a reason why you had been sent to steal the vast majority of their ammunition.

“Y/N?”

You jerked at Anya’s voice coming from behind you, turning to look into your leaders face. She looked tired and more than a little bit concerned for Tris.

“I need you to do something for me”

“What is it?”

“Scouts brought in Clarke and Finn earlier on this morning, I need you to go to the sky people’s camp. Keep that boy in the walls”

“That boy?” you asked curiously then continuing “you haven’t hurt them Anya?”

“I haven’t and I won’t as long as the girl succeeds in healing Tris” folding her arms across her chest she levelled her gaze on you, tiredness banished “You are to keep Bellamy Blake within the walls of that camp Y/N. I don’t care how you do it, but he needs to stay away”

“You don’t care how I do it?” Anya had a tone to her voice that you didn’t like, it implied something about your relationship with Bellamy that you hadn’t even admitted to yourself yet. “You sound like you have some idea about what needs doing Anya”

“Don’t try and cover up your feelings for them Y/N” her face pinched into a look of distaste. “It’s impossible to miss how you talk about them all of a sudden, your becoming more like Lincoln day after day”

“I am nothing like him”

Anya simply shrugged her shoulders “at this moment in time I don’t care what you believe, in fact your fondness for them is helping my immediate goals. Go, keep Bellamy occupied enough to leave Finn and Clarke here”

You wanted to keep pressing, to try and get some sort of guarantee out of Anya that she wouldn’t hurt Finn or Clarke. However, you knew Anya to well to think that you were going to succeed in that respect instead you would take what she had given already. “When do you want me to go?”

“Now” Anya held out your coat, the dark green one that allowed you to blend so well into the back drop of the forest. “As long as you can Y/N”

“As long as I can” you slipped into the coat flicking the hood up over your hair and doing up the buttons.

You knew that when Anya said now she meant now you didn’t bother looking back to try and get any sort of glimpse at Finn or Clarke instead simply taking off for the borders of the forest. Stealing wasn’t your only skill nor was slipping ropes. You could also move almost inhumanely fast through the forest; it was a talent you hadn’t been able to teach to anyone else. The way you jumped over the undergrowth and missed hazards around you. All of it added up to the fact that reaching the sky peoples camp would have taken others hours but took you only one.

Movement was frantic around the camp and you could see hordes of kids running around seemingly unsure of what they should do. Who you couldn’t see was Bellamy though, the one person who you were supposed to be distracting.

Distracting, that was the interesting word. What exactly was distracting Bellamy going to take and just how far were you willing to go to uphold Anya’s orders.

You stayed in the trees for a moment scouting out time in the guard’s rotation to slip through the tunnel and into the camp. From the edge of the tunnel it was easy enough to skirt around the edges of the camp and tents to towards the one you knew was Bellamy’s. You were taking a guess that that was where he might be, planning what to do next. From the outside you couldn’t hear any voices so taking the risk that he was going to be on his own you slipped inside.

Your luck apparently was holding because sure enough Bellamy was sat on the edge of his bed, head in his hands staring down at the floor. “I’m not in the mood for another lecture Clarke”

He didn’t know that Clarke had gone yet, that was good. “Then it’s a good job I’m not Clarke”

He jerked, jumping up from his bed to spin around staring over at you. “Y/N”

“In the flesh” you pushed your hood down revealing your face to him, smiling softly at his visible surprise. “Sorry for skipping out on you again, but I did promise to be back”

“What are you doing here?”

Slowly you undid the buttons of your coat dropping it to the floor as you came over to a still tense Bellamy. “You tried to kill Anya, you nearly did kill Tris”

“Tris?”

“Anya’s second. She isn’t happy”

“Do you really think that bothers me?” he snapped out anger filtering over his features as he stared down at you.

“I think it should” you took the final step towards him so your bodies were only inches apart. “I think if it honestly doesn’t than your more stupid than I thought and that’s just…disappointing”

Bellamy reached up grabbing your arms and squeezed to such an extent that it was almost painful. “I’m only going to ask you once more Y/N, what are you doing here?”

“Can I not want to see you?” his nostrils flared at that, he wanted it to be true you could see it on his face. He wanted to believe that you wanted to see him. It was interesting, it seemed that Bellamy was fighting just as hard as you were to deny that there was anything but hostility between the two of you. That the chemical pull you felt towards him didn’t actually exist. You slowly raised your hand up to rest your hand against his chest, you could feel his heart beat accelerating under your touch. “I did want to see you again Blake”

“But?”

“But that’s not the whole reason”

You’d reached a crossroads, right now in this moment your life could go one of two directions. You could do as you had been raised to protect Anya and not tell him that is was likely that Clarke and Finn were both going to die at the hands of your people. Or you could tell him the truth, you could betray your people and you could take the final step towards living a life like Lincoln lived.

“I need to know something from you before I tell you”

“Need to know what?” Bellamy’s grip loosened on your arms but he didn’t completely let go of you, almost like he was scared that you were going to vanish once more.

“Would you have killed Lincoln? If I hadn’t gotten him out of this camp. Would you have killed my friend?”

He went silent, eyes flicking down from your face to instead stare down at the floor. “No” he whispered out. “Is that what you want to hear? That your enemies are weak. That I wouldn’t have been able to kill him when it came down to the end”

“I don’t think your weak” you moved your hand up from his chest, tracing his collar bone and up his neck to lift his chin so you could stare into his eyes once more. “I don’t think mercy is weakness Bellamy. On the contrary I think it takes more courage to show forgiveness” lifting yourself up onto your toes you pressed your lips against Bellamy’s.

Biography /

Sarah Parker had every wish as her command since the day she was born. Being the first female in a family that was believed to be cursed with males, the Parkers all bowed down to the lone femme fatale, even if she wasn’t right or had enough of everything that she already had. With that sort of mindset growing up, Sarah made sure that she had the best of everything, from being Varsity in sports, to the most popular boyfriends – Sarah Parker had it all. And she made sure to keep it that way. Whether it was given to her, or she used her abilities to obtain the power she yearned, it was her’s. Of course, having the sort of mindset led to many people to dislike her, and also being who she was, she couldn’t see why somebody wouldn’t like her. To Sarah, she thought having someone like her would lead any person in their right mind to greatness, but it turned out to be otherwise. When she graduated from high school and she became just another “Mean Girl” who had her best time in high school, it hit her. That was not how it should have been, and it was no doubt that Sarah would change it in a heartbeat. It led to her traveling to California, celebrating the beginning of the next chapter of her life and right into a werewolf party that she only took by storm. After all, what kind of leader would she be as just a regular human with regular abilities that didn’t make her the most superior being in the room?

Important Points /

--Being in California one summer, on one of the infamous Parker Family Reunions, Sarah’s family played football against an opposing family’s team. She gained quite the attention with the other guys her age, seeing as she was the only girl, and she more specifically caught the eye of an Alpha – something she found out the following night. It was also that specific Alpha who she began to outmatch in every play done, and every moment of their rendezvous that followed. He saw potential in the blonde and invited her to his pack’s monthly meeting. One thing Sarah always made sure to do was make herself at home, something every wolf experienced as they weren’t able to talk her down. As her family reunion came to an end, Sarah confronted the Alpha, saying that she wanted what he had and, “to cut the fuckery he was going to lie down.” Instead of an answer, he returned minutes later in his wolf form and bit her. The surprise was enough to leave her quiet for a day, but it was obvious something was happening in her blood and it only got stronger as the full moon brought forth her first transformation.

--After being bitten by the Alpha, soon becoming a core member of his pack, and fully transitioning into a werewolf, Sarah almost immediately came to terms with what she became leading her to leave her parents, friends, and everything easily behind to chase her new life. The reveal did nothing to hold her back, nor did it to her pack as they continued their ways. And, as befitting to a person like Sarah, she made sure that she was in the ranks of her new pack that suited her. She loved being a wolf because she was now past the highest level she already thought she was at as a human; and there was only one higher branch to obtain – Alpha. Her Alpha had taken her as his own, so she did the same by agreeing to marry him. It made her as high as an Alpha since a pack respected its queen, but it was short-lived when talks of a pack in Canada that was twenty strong made way through the wolf community.

--The name Davidson itself brought her to tell her husband to go, Davidson being a name she thought she would have at one point in her life. Sarah might as well as led her Alpha to death by telling him to go and fight Kyle for his pack when the easy win went to a person she left when he turned out to be nothing more than a one-hit wonder in high school. No loyalty was left for her old pack and her deceased husband when she begged – for the first time in her life – to be in the Davidson Pack. And like always, Sarah got what she wanted. She hated the way how soft he was towards the rest except her, so any moment she could, Sarah made sure to climb every peg she could to get Kyle to be less abrasive towards her. When talks of going back to New York were being discussed, she made sure she was apart of the first wave. It didn’t matter that she had to register herself, she had nothing to hide; even the Instagram account she manages shot up with followers, the first true supernatural to document her life. New York is her playground, and Sarah isn’t letting anyone mess up her ground, not even her Alpha.

NATHANIEL YVES ; The only member that remained after the rest of her first pack chose to run rather than join Kyle – all thanks to her – Nathaniel Yves is alive today because of Sarah, and she couldn't be more proud of that fact. Yes, she had insured his life by convincing Kyle not to kill him and using her presence to stop the final throat cut that was about to be inflicted, but Sarah didn't tell Nathaniel that. For the sake of Kyle, and knowing how Nathaniel is, she told the maimed wolf that it was the Alpha that saved him solely to ensure Nathaniel didn't go after Kyle and kill him and her. After all, she was the one that told their Alpha to go confront Kyle and the ultimate reason why he was now dead. In a way, yes, she's watching out for her skin, maybe Kyle's, but in the meantime, Nathaniel is the only one opening up to her out of the thirty others and it's nice to have that attention since no one else is giving it.

KYLE DAVIDSON ; The fallen angel himself that rised back up to heaven, it was a shock to hear the name Kyle Davidson have such popularity. In high school, Sarah was like every other thinking he would make it to the major leagues, hence why she chose the cream of the crop to latch her romance to. Kyle had been the best, but after he broke his ankle, he was useless – to himself after his temper soured, and to her since he wasn't the best anymore. Seeing what he has become has her regretting not sticking with him, how could she know he was a werewolf and would eventually become the Alpha other wolves were afraid of? All she wants is to show him that she's the best fit, not some Kaden who she found out he was married to. It may take time, but Sarah has just that now that she's back in the city and in the strongest pack it has to offer.

BROOKLYN DAVIS ; The reason that further instates why Sarah hates having any form of parental figure around, it's Brooklyn Davis out of the whole pack that gets on her last nerve and beyond. They're all adults, even more, they're grown, in control werewolves. There should be no necessity for a parental figure cracking down rules and getting those in trouble for not following them. For the sake of trying to get on Kyle's good side, she has tried her best to seem to listen to what Brooklyn has to say, but by each day, it's become one of the hardest things to do not to snap at the girl who thinks she can play mommy to the rest of the gang.

MEGHAN ROBERTS ; Sarah knows that Meghan Roberts doesnt like her, and Sarah also knows that she doesn't care in the slightest. It's always fairly easy to tell apart who cares for her company and who doesn't. At first, she could tell that Meghan tried to be her friend, but as time went by and Sarah allowed herself to show her true nature, the girl slowly retreated from any attempts. Sure, Meghan is a nice girl, Sarah just didn't get along with them was the problem. And the fact that she is so close to Kyle and she isn't, well, if you said it was jealousy, Sarah would slap you down before another word left your mouth.

TARRYN DAVIDSON ; Once upon a time, there was a girl who was the cousin to her boyfriend; a cousin that said that she wasn't a cousin, more like an older sister and if anyone were to hurt her little brother, they would suffer consequences. Flashforward past five years and Sarah knows Tarryn Davidson will keep that promise. She had supposedly broken Kyle's heart while also left his damage goods instead of helping to fix them. Word on the street is that Kyle's cousin is now a hunter in New York, not a dangerous one since she doesn't kill all supernatural, but a hunter nonetheless, and if there's one thing about Sarah, she knows when to play it safe rather than playing impulsively.

CAMERON WESTFALL ; Finally, a person that Sarah likes out of the mess of people she was given to choose as her "friends." She's only come across the wolf twice at most, and it's enough time to tell her that she likes Cameron Westfall a little more than the next. Sure, Cameron is loud and obnoxious, but she's beautiful and holds somewhat near the same intellect as Sarah in regards to how the supernatural deserve superiorty over all and is willing to do what it takes to happen. Of course, Cameron said she would meddle with hunters while Sarah won't dare risk her life, but she likes the verve and charisma and it's enough to make her want to be even more friends with Cameron.

ERIC GUTIERREZ ; Since returning to New York, Sarah met Eric Gutierrez upon walking out of Strange Brew and going to a place that had more people who didn't know her when she walked into him. He was from New Jersey, not the royalty that was New York. However, what was like royalty was how Eric treated her every time she graced her presence amongst him and for the first time in what felt like a long time, Eric is the only one that has given that. Of course, it's having to do with the fact that she is having a bit of a problem connecting the rest of the people Sarah has surrounded herself with, Eric has allowed that either because she's a pretty face giving him attention, or someone who doesn't know anyone else. All Sarah knows is that she likes the attention; not just likes, loves.

ah well in regards to your theme, usually the theme makers are okay with minor changes (sometimes major ones too) as long as you keep the credit and the changes are for personal use (as opposed to commercial use/redistribution, etc). just to be sure, you can just check their rules. they usually have that whole page/pop up or will simply include it in their theme code.

like naruto and kakashi may be super close and stuff, but when he needs someone as a guardian, naruto turns to iruka and idk i feel that says a lot about their relationship and it makes me cry all the fucking time

also i had a thought. instead of all the grunts wearing really bland clothes, there IS a uniform. its just that. well. not all of them are in uniform. some of them are disguised! you fight members from team whatsit all game long, and you dont even know it, because theyre ordinary trainers! basically the only trainers that cant secretly be team whatsit are preschoolers and the schoolers. everyone else? fair game.

and you could even bring it back, where sometimes you actually fight the same trainer twice is quick succession but because they changed outfits you have no idea. or at the climax of the team whatsit story, when the cities in chaos, you fight a bunch of grunts with the same names as they had before, they have the same basic team set ups but with higher levels, evos, new pokes, etc. thatd be kinda rad. like, your first hint that team whatsit are being sneaky is when you encounter YT in one of their bases and realise their a team whatsit member. so youre sus now, because yt is a fairly generic looking person.

then at the end, ooh, the end, when you fight the team whatsit boss in that skyscraper overlooking the city, they tell you their people are all amongst the chaos. youve fought them all game long. theyve reported back. they knew youd be coming today. after beating the team leader (and summoning the legendaries, which might be semi concurrent, that sequence of events is fuddly) you go out into the city with the intent to defeat the remaining team whatsit members who are causing havoc. and you cant find them. until one random trainer approaches you and whoof, there goes their disguise, its fight time! and you realise, FUCK, you HAVE been fighting them all game

thatd be cool. or, maybe you fight through the chaos first. instead of team leader explaining it. you get called back to the major city (melbourne, i guess) and its run amok, and when you arrive a random trainer approaches and fights you, and once you win they reveal that team whatsit runs this city now. and as you head for the tower with the team leader, youre challenged by all the random trainers! and the closer you get to the tower, the more they start wearing uniform and clearly displaying insiginias. its basically just SLIGHT edits to the generic trainer portraits, but itd look sick.

god listen i just like the idea of trainer portraits in battle changing SLIGHTLY. just slight alterations. variants within a ‘class’. some ace trainers are gingers and some are brunettes, its variance. i like that idea. and of trainers outside the main cast having some persistence. shit, maybe you even return to old routes later in the game and the trainers are gone! like once you beaten a trainer, the next time you load that route, their gone! permanence?????? i like the idea of some sort of life to the world, like it goes on when you arent watching, you look away and that trainer went home, or to the pokemon center. maybe theyll come back. probably not, thatd be really complex to code. but having two states - beaten and not beaten - would be fairly easy. ensuring that trainers dont immediately disappear once fought might be tough but fuck it, right

maybe YT explains it. like, youre fighting through the city, and you make it to the pokemon center (bearing in mind the idea is you cant fly direct to the city due to the chaos, thatd be interesting to me) and YT is there, and they tell you team whatsits hid amongst the people. maybe thats the end of YTs thing. like youve already had their rooftop fight. though i DID want YT to be involved in the legendary fight thing.... hmmn. fuck it. YT tells you to get out of the city, because thats half of YTs motivation, to not really hurt people or let them be hurt by the actions of others (its irony, sorta, though YT personally only causes harm to elito as part of her revenge against him, and NOONE ELSE). Yt tells you to flee, and that this is your last chance, because further in the city its team whatsit sway, and she wont be able to stop them hurting you. and then she leaves. that way, she can be on the rooftop to summon the legendaries, she can take part in the potential double battle in which you and your friendly rival fight the team leader. nice. nice!!!! i like this!!!

i also had an idea about the whole ‘dialogue branch’ thing affecting the outcome of yt/elito. i think itd need to change. in that, if you tell elito who YT is, elito will not flee. elito will stand his ground with your and your friendly rival, and when YT comes to see how its going, she’ll be pleasantly surprised by this outcome (and by elitos admission that hes scared but wanted to prove to her that he wasnt a coward anymore) and it results in her attempting to reconnect with him after the team whatsit story ends. if you DONT tell elito who YT is, he will attempt to flee and YT will stop him, and it will reaffirm to her that elito is once a coward, always a coward, and she will never make the attempt to reconnect because she believes he fundamentally hasnt changed.

that works. why knowing who YT is would stop elito from fleeing... i mean, his desire to prove to YT that hes not a coward anymore, that hes actively working to let what happened to her happen again, thats a pretty powerful emotion. hes determined to do it RIGHT this time. why that desire wouldnt be there if he didnt know??? well. he IS a coward. like elito is a big coward. guy talks a big game but hes the biggest wuss. OOH, ive got it!. see, elito thinks YT is dead, thinks she died because of him, and if he doesnt know she lived, he simply thinks of himself as a failure with no real chance at redemption. even if he outwardly projects like he has improved, his mindset hasnt, he thinks he cant save the kids and instead prevents them going (or tries to, old man). thinking that the kids are gonna end up like his YT - long gone - he flees it. he runs from it. but if he KNOWS that YT is alive, that she survived and became a member of team whatsit and has been helping orchestrate this chaos, hes still a failure, but now he has an actionable, clear way to improve. YT is right there. he can save her. he can restore how it used to be. he can fix his mistake, directly, instead of fixing his mistake by helping others. so, knowing YT will come, he stands his ground with the kids.

god thats worded like shit. tl;dr if he doesnt know, he thinks himself an unredeemable failure and simply repeats his mistakes because he thinks its inevitable at this point. if he knows, then he still thinks hes a failure, but he thinks that MAYBE, just maybe, he can redeem himself by saving YT, because now he has the chance! he failed to save her before, but he can save her now!!!! admittedly this might be because he doesnt understand her motive and possibly thinks shes been held captive and brainwashed by team whatsit, but it motivates him to do something good (that is, not flee, expecting never to return, leaving two like 14 year olds to get ganged up on and probably really badly injured/killed by armed thugs)
