I miss when Joker plots were like
The Joker: Well, Batman! If you can't find all my hidden Joker Bombs throughout Gotham by midnight, they'll all go off, and Gotham will be dyed green FOREVER!!! *manic cackling*
Batman: Joker. That's fucking stupid. No one wants to be green. I'm going to stop you.
*14 minutes of hijinks followed by a return to status quo except Robin was holding a bomb at midnight and is now green until the next episode*

One day I would love to see research about social media, neurodivergence and mental illnesses, and the desperate need/craving for a community to call your own and the outcomes of it all

i keep having embarrassingly deeper-than-they-should feelings about caboose that im not sure what to do about, with how i feel like i relate in a pretty genuine and sweet way to him in an autistic level and i do feel like reading him that way makes real sense but im just incapable of feeling very good about it when its very very clear caboose's neurodivergent esque behavior is applied exclusively to make the butt of the joke off how stupid he is. i care about him a lot as a character but i mostly just wanna rip him off r-slur-loving rooster teeth's hands and handle him with a minimum level of respect
#i dunno i feel about bad about it like if i even acknowledge my reading of him it comes off badly when once again hes the dumb one#going off topic onto a tangent i think i just yearn for a fictional representation of autism that isnt just easy and palatable#like there are lots and lots of autistic and autistic coded and autistic read/head cannoned characters out there#but it feels like its always just. nice character whos very nerdy about a subject or is kinda weird or awkward at times#its always just this ''high functional'' kind of autism where the proof theyre autistic are a few traits here and there#there just arent characters who stutter and mumble and get lost with words and sound weird and have weird voices#and say genuinely weird things in genuinely inappropriate times. who genuinely come off as weird or dumb or childish#who struggle with simple things or dont get concepts or instructions or things said at them#autism that isnt quirky or always fun or always endearing or easy to deal with or easy to dismiss#i cant think of a single character in media who i relate with in an autistic level in how my autism actually feels beyond the superficial#and i think thats why i get a genuine comfort in caboose of all things#in how unapologetically and undeniably weird and kinda dumb and kinda childish he comes off#and it isnt always nice and it annoys and troubles the people around him and of course himself beyond a way he can control#i get touched by the moments here and there when people actually treat him well#when tucker takes some time to gently explain to him that church isnt coming back.#and when hes given a sincerely emotional moment to say goodbye to church and well as that one episode of season 14#or generally when characters are nice to him or talk in ways he can understand better#i dunno i just really do like him#which i guess just backfires when it feels specially hurtful when hes called dumb and stupid and is hated and threatened#and condescend upon and treated as useless and incompetent and just a burden the others need to take care of#mannnnn i hate rooster teeth#🧃

When I see people talk about "what if there was an Isekai but it was a GIRL" and just... The most basic concepts, spun off from the idea that all Isekai is guys getting hit by trucks to become OP in fantasy worlds with harems. But it's not!
You can already find Isekais about girls who end up with female harems, people deciding to cook instead of fight, people befriending monsters and travelling the world... Like! Japanese creators HAVE expanded this genre!! You simply are not looking at it!! The generic male fantasy stuff gets anime bc the people into it are also the people who will pay money for anime figurines and blu-rays!! Go read some comics and find the Isekai for YOU!

dragons are sooooo awesome no matter what media they are in. aughhhigh.
you're literally so right dragons are >>>>>>
put dragons in anything and it immediately becomes a million times better. for the past week every time I drive to school I put on my dragon audiobook and just go :D the whole time. because dragons!
i have been reading a lot of books that aren't quite my style for a while. i want to be well read and branch out, because while I've read a lot it's been all very concentrated in one area. and I wanna see what's going on elsewhere, and my teacher lent me some books a while back. and while I appreciate the exposure it's also a lot harder to read through because they aren't my preferred genre and I'm unused to it. and because I try not to read too many books at once I've been slow. but!! I recently realized i could listen to books more for fun at the same time! and so my dragon audiobook is getting me through it all rn I'm falling in love with reading again <3
i should rewatch how to train your dragons
also kinda related!! "Because in the darkness, there be dragons. But it isn't true. We can prove that it isn't true. In the dark, there is discovery, there is possibility, there is freedom in the dark once someone has illuminated it." quotes I'm unwell about don't mind me. it mentioned dragons so it's relevant :)

"Make This Christmas in July Special with Gingerbread Delights"
"Gingerbread Christmas in July" brings a whimsical twist to summer by infusing the warm-weather months with the cozy charm of winter holidays. This concept playfully merges the spicy sweetness of gingerbread with the sunny vibes of midsummer celebrations.
Tumblr media
Buy now:19.95$
Imagine pool parties featuring gingerbread-flavored cocktails or ice cream, and barbecues serving gingerbread-crusted grilled treats. Bakers might create summer-themed gingerbread houses adorned with tiny sunbathers and palm trees instead of snowmen and fir trees.
Decorations could include gingerbread-scented candles in beach-inspired holders, or strings of lights shaped like classic gingerbread men wearing sunglasses and flip-flops. Crafters might design "sand castles" made from gingerbread dough, complete with seashell decorations.
This theme offers a refreshing change for those experiencing holiday fatigue in December, allowing them to celebrate Christmas spirit without the pressure of the actual holiday season. It's an opportunity for creative marketing, unique product launches, and themed events that stand out in the summer calendar.

"Gingerbread Christmas in July" appeals to those who love the holidays year-round, as well as anyone looking for a novel way to beat the summer heat with a dash of winter whimsy. It's a concept that invites creativity, nostalgia, and a touch of humor to the dog days of summer.
"Funny Beach Summer in July" evokes images of lighthearted seaside antics and comical vacation mishaps during the peak of summer. Picture sunbathers with ridiculous tan lines, beachgoers struggling to apply sunscreen to hard-to-reach spots, and sandcastles that hilariously collapse just as they're finished.
Imagine beach volleyball games where players comically dive for the ball, only to face-plant in the sand. Visualize the chaos of families trying to set up complicated beach umbrellas in gusty winds or the sight of seagulls boldly stealing snacks from unsuspecting tourists.
This concept might include humorous t-shirts with beach puns, inflatable pool toys in absurd shapes, or beach games that inevitably lead to laughter. It's about embracing the joy of summer, complete with melting ice cream cones, awkward tan lines, and the inevitable sand that finds its way into everything.

Something I like in season 4's the flash is that the elongated man's powers are just repulsive. He does his grotesque body horror thing and nobody liked that. The subtitle [body stretching] is obscene to consider, especially when it's happening offscreen. This man made his hand into a balloon animal to comfort a child in hospital as if that isn't the most nightmarish hideous thing to show someone. He made a flesh balloon and then tied it into a fun shape. For kids. Everyone's first reaction to his power is a shocked scream. People see him and want to throw up. It's amazing. They made this man so body horrible. To match his personality <3

Ace Attorney does not get nearly enough credit for the fact that it consistently portrays relationships between men and women with absolutely no romantic or sexual undertones.
In any other game, it would be very common to make some sort of chemistry between the protagonist and their assistant. We play as an attractive man who's usually smart and charming. With a cute young girl as a quirky assistant. This would be a recipe for some sort of heterosexual romance in any other media.
However, this never happens. The dynamic between the lawyer and the assistant is always platonic. Or even familial. Phoenix and Maya act and treat each other as if they were siblings. Bickering and bullying each other, but still doing anything they can to help one another. Phoenix typically refers to Maya as a kid. Even when she is well into her 20s. While Edgeworth and Kay have a much more of a father daughter bond. Edgeworth constantly worried about her when she put herself in danger. Helping her in all sorts of ways. Even stepping into the shoes of her actual biological father to restore her memories in The Forgotten Turnabout. Of course, Apollo follows this trend as well. With Trucy being has actual biological half-sister. Neither know of this yet still act as if they grew up together. Teasing and poking fun throughout the game.
There's not a single moment for any of these duos that I can recall that scream romantic. With the exception of Phoenix and Maya. Mind you, this not them, actually acting in a romantic way. It is the way their relationship is perceived by a small young girl. Pearl is absolutely convinced that Phoenix and Maya are deeply in love and will be married soon. This is treated as something unfortunate. Phoenix was confused as to why she was thinking this way. Until Maya informed him that Pearl almost never sees a happy healthy relationship between a man and a woman. She has come to understand that if a man treats a woman nicely, then they must be in love. The attitude Phoenix and Maya have about this isn't one of lovers or secret pining. It's one of great sadness for little pearly.
There are characters in the story who do act disgustingly heterosexual whenever they can. Namely, Larry "if something smells" Butz. He's constantly in and out of relationships and always looking for more. He even hinted at jealousy for Phoenix and his friendship with Maya and Pearl. Which is pretty gross. He's shamed and scorned for this behavior most of the time. Signifying, he's the odd one out.
When it comes to fandom shipping, this is a similar story. While yes, of course, there are plenty of people who ship the lawyers with their assistants. It's not nearly as common as you'd think it was. Most people agree that these characters have no chemistry with each other. Most even have the maturity to understand that shipping a man in his mid twenties with a girl usually under eighteen is wrong. In both the Western and Jappanese fandom, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of shipping for these characters.
I commend the writers for doing this. It is a breath of fresh air to finally have healthy friendships between men and women. Even when they do have more of a romantic undertone, with characters such as Mia and Diego, it is one of respect and admiration. Not one of simply physical attraction.

speaking of autism, it's all fun and cute and quirky until you display behavior related to the disorder and suddenly it's not cute or profitable. I have breakdowns, sensory issues, speech issues/or stop speaking sometimes and learning issues. autism does have its silly moments but when you just water it down to that, it becomes a bit of a problem. *especially* seeing folks treating autistic folks who need more support like shit.
