She's my first ever Warhammer 40,000 model and this will be the color scheme for my Order of the Argent Shroud army

So something i'm going to be doing from now on:

The idea of fantasy elements in a modern world has always interested me. So for my modern muses I'm placing them in such a setting. Everything is the same except with adding like Elves, Dwarves and the like as well as magic, though magic isn't as common as it is in medieval fantasy.

For most interactions it's mostly going to be mentioned not always a primary thing say like

That Elf in a Porsche just cut me off!

You hear about that new Dwarf YouTuber?

Stuff like that.

Also a new note: due to being asked numerous times: I am not only focusing on wlw ships. Yes they are pretty dominant but not the sole focus. I am very much open to other ships.

Caine & Ortega:

Ortega is caines best friend of years, even after the farm. In fact, caines had a crush on him since their sidestep days, but only realized it in retri lol. He finds his static soothing, its a reprieve from the constant chatter around them, even if it comes with the cost of not being able to read his mind. The problem is that caine is really good at following orders, and during his sidestep days, when they first got all their freedom, he kind of subconciously latched on to ortega as the nearest authority figure because they likened his static to the numbers used at the farm. Even post second escape, they still regard him as an authority(though hes starting to chafe against ortegas influence a little bit more). Part of the reason caine is a no-kill saving step is because, even if they dont realize it, theyre doing what ortega told them to do. if ortega had asked him to kill somebody, hed do it 100%. and if that somebody just so happened to be a near-mythical kingpin ruling over los diablos, well... let's just say theres more than one reason caine agreed to HGs deal unthreaded

Caine & Chen:

Oh, caine has a thing for the marshal and they are throwing a fit about it. This was NOT supposed to happen. Chen was supposed to be the vaguely-tolerable side effect to getting spoon. But then he found out that chens well-shielded mind is actually really nice for the same reasons ortegas mind is, and that he could relate to the feeling of being forced into a role he doesnt want to play. Back in the day, caine was always frustrated that chen didnt trust what he brought to the team, but now that theyre "retired", it doesnt matter and they can relax together as individuals. It was a surprisingly nice development. The two are more similar than they think– nowadays, the main conflict between the two is caine being lycan, because chen is absolutely aware of that fact and caine is just about clear-headed enough to note that thats probably a bad thing. Caine and chen are both very (for lack of better term) career focused, and even if caine doesnt like being villainous, theyre willing to do whatevers needed for the job(over 80% drive babyyy). So yeah, those two are going to butt heads when That conversation finally comes up

Caine & Herald:

Caine is WORKING that 66% strength of mind whenever herald is around. They find him intense, overly curious, and far too forgetful of boundaries, all of which they Do Not appreciate. But he still cant help liking the kid. Hes legitimately proud of how far heralds come along, and hes interested in his potential as a threat since hes shown how perceptive he can be. Currently, theyre trying to round out heralds skills as part of the team, as well as pushing him to analyze and use what he notices against an opponent. Plus, training herald has been more of a lifeline than theyd like to admit(i wrote something about it, but idk if ill post it rip). Its a schedule, hes a good coach, and he just likes fighting for fun lmfao. The whole thing would be great if herald could get some shields for the love of god

Caine & Argent:

Fun fact, caine used to have a small crush on argent between rebirth and retribution. It was a mix of admiration for her skills, the constant attention and the fact that argent is just pretty lol. It faded quick (quickly enough that he panicked in the bridge fight when he realized she was flirting with him lmfao), but they continued to hold a healthy amount of respect for her afterwards, even if they didnt approve of her teamwork. And then the casino happened! Caine had gone through the whole casino infiltration entirely untouched, but when they noticed the fight between argent and shroud, they couldnt help but give into curiosity and see what was happening. That was. a bad decision. He watched shroud attempt and fail to devour argent, and they ended up getting a panic attack and fleeing. He is now scared as shit of her :D! He avoids her like the plague, and whenever hes given an opportunity to escape a room with her in it, hes taking it. They dont know what she is, and they have a bad feeling about finding out

The Order of the Neon Heart

It seems that a bunch of you liked the pictures of my Adepta Sororitas force.  So here’s the background of my homebrew order for those interested.

It got kind of long, so if you want the TL,DR then… They’re an order based around Saint Marabeth the Dynamo, a sister who volunteered herself to be wired into a crippled Imperial Knight to serve as a power-source.  The Knight then proceeded to kick absolute ass while glowing with rose light, Marabeth’s sheer will powering until the battle was over, leaving Marabeth dead but inspiring a new order in her memory.

The Quelling of Horzia

When the citizenry of Horzia, the hive-capital of planet Brannech, overthrew their planetary governor, denounced the existence of the Emperor of Mankind and attempted to secede from the tyranny of the Imperium of Man, several regiments of the Astra Militarum were sent to bring the planet back into compliance.  They were accompanied by a host of Sisters from the Order of the Argent Shroud, intent on punishing the Horzian Rebellion for their heretical claims.

The campaign to crush the Horzian Rebellion was not as simple as originally hoped.  Horzia’s main contribution to the Imperium had been in the manufacture of heavy ordnance munitions, and the Rebellion had seized many of these and used them to devastating effect against Imperial forces.

As the operation dragged on, a lance of Knights from House Taranis were dispatched. With these reinforcements, the fighting began to swing towards the Imperium’s favour.  The commanders executed a strike against the current leadership of the Rebellion, hoping to eradicate the core of the movement and bring a decisive end to the heretical uprising.

During the battle a heavy shell struck the knight construct Pillar of Indignation and crippled it. The knight had been the core that the Imperial attack was anchored around and without it the battle-line buckled.  Sororitas and Militarum forces rushed to bolster the hole in the line while tech-adepts swarmed to heal the wounded machine.

Tech-priests at the site found that the generator for Pillar of Indignation had been hit and was damaged beyond what they could repair in the field.  The pilot was unscathed and core systems were largely intact, but without power the knight was useless.

Saint Marabeth the Dynamo

The Palatine overseeing Sororitas forces in the offensive was a sister named Marabeth, and upon hearing of the damage suffered by the knight she spoke with the gathered Adeptus Mechanicus personnel.  Marabeth suggested that a human could serve as a temporary power-source.  The concept made sense to her - after all, the Adepta Sororitas used heretics to power their Penitent Engines and the near-dead of the Adeptus Astartes piloted their Dreadnoughts.

The tech-priests argued among themselves for a time, some claiming that such action was heresy to the Machine God and others calculating that a single human would never produce sufficient output to feed the knight construct.

Marabeth and Johannes Gavlan, the pilot of Pillar of Indignation shared a look.

“Are you sure?” Johannes asked.

Marabeth’s reply was calm and certain:

“My faith in the Emperor does not flinch or waver.  Let that faith be your chariot’s heart.”

It took time to jury-rig Marabeth into the ruined engine of the knight.  As Imperium casualties mounted and ground was steadily lost, those tech-priests and Sisters that could be spared from the fighting gathered around.  As Marabeth was entombed within Pillar of Indignation they chanted binaric cants and intoned hymns of faith to the Machine God and the Emperor of Mankind respectively.

Johannes uttered a prayer of his own, and powered up the knight.

Holy scripture of the Order of the Neon Heart speaks of how the knight rose that day, with Marabeth shackled to its core.  Its optic sensors blazed with golden fire and rose light pulsed from every crack and seam in its chassis.

As the knight stood, Marabeth’s cries of strain and exhalation boomed from its war-speakers.

The knight’s gaze was devastation, its shell impervious.  The Horzian Rebellion withered under the knight’s firepower as it drove into their line and smashed asunder all that stood before it.  Imperium forces followed in the knight’s wake, mopping up what little resistance remained.

Those members of the Adeptus Mechanicus who witnessed the redoubled fury of the Pillar of Indignation that day fell to their knees, certain that they had witnessed a miracle of the machine.  The Sisters of the Argent Shroud bowed their heads in reverence as holy light bled from the heart of the knight, or screamed their throats hoarse in harmony with Marabeth’s own magnified cries as they fought alongside it.

The Order of the Neon Heart

When the fighting was done, tech-priests rushed to the Pillar of Indignation as it stuttered and began to lose power.  The holy light that had pulsed through it flickered and died and the machine fell still.Johannes emerged from the cockpit-throne, wide-eyed and shaking, not yet able to comprehend the miracle that he had just been a part of.

Marabeth’s dead and drained corpse was retrieved from inside the core of the knight and turned over to the Argent Shroud.  A funeral was held for Marabeth and talk began to spread among the Sisters who had served in this campaign about the miracle they had witnessed.  While they were all sure in their faith, few of them had ever been so close to an act of divine power on this scale.

When word eventually reached the superiors of the Order of the Argent Shroud it did not take much debate to decide to canonise Marabeth for her deeds.  Thus arose Saint Marabeth the Dynamo and those Sisters who felt so moved were given leave to found a new order in her name, the Order of the Neon Heart.

Since that day, the Order of the Neon Heart maintains close ties with sections of the Adeptus Mechanicus - those that are a little bit more open to flexibility, when the needs drive them and the motivations are right.

After several days of contemplation and prayer, Johannes parted ways from House Taranis.  He claimed that he now had a holy purpose that was more important than the duty of the house and that to deny that was to deny the very grace of the Emperor Himself.  Johannes left, taking his small cadre of support personnel and his re-fitted knight, no longer referred to as Pillar of Indignation.  Now, the freeblade known as Marabeth’s Tomb follows the Order of the Neon Heart and is always there to aid them when the Sisters call.

The Order of the Drowned Martyr

I wanna put something down for my own custom Sororitas order. As soon as I get some fucking paint for them, I’ll start assembling and putting them together, but I already have a backstory for them, kind of. The Cicatrix Maledictum has torn the galaxy in two, and the Segmentum Obscuris is separated from the Light of the Emperor. A battle group of the Order of the Argent Shroud was on its way to [insert system here] to help shore up defences of the Galactic North during the 13th Black Crusade when Cadia fell and the rift tore through realspace, and found themselves isolated.  Being a new battlegroup, not yet truly blooded, they didn’t have anyone to put in their Penitent Engines or Mortifers, and no one to defrock and send into the ranks of their Repentia. They still had all the equipment, though. Gotta be prepared after all. And so, during the height of conflict against Heretics (both human and Astartes), several of the sisters volunteered to be placed in the engines, or to wield the zweinhander chainswords with the pain shackles. The order needed the shock troops to open up gaps and tear through the enemies ranks, and without the appropriate failures to put in them, all that was left were sisters willing to bear the pain of it for the good of the Order, and the civilians they were defending. The battle was won, at cost. And the Order renamed itself after one of their sisters, who had willingly placed herself within the Adamantite sarcophacus of a mortifyer to break the enemy lines. She drowned, the sarcophagus pierced and letting in water, after bringing down a Heretic Astartes squadron with her into a river. When the coffin was opened, her robe was stained pink from the blood and water she was berthed in for hours. And thus I’ll have a bunch of bright pink Sororitas on a table at some point.
