Iceberg's Jewel pt. 1
This is just another idea rattling around in my head! While this is still yandere Batfam, the premise is slightly different—here, they haven’t quite met you yet. The focus starts with Oswald Cobblepot and the Iceberg Lounge, but trust me, the Batfamily won’t be far behind. Timeline-wise, this would technically come first, even though in my other yandere Batfam fics, Tim and Jason have already had their moments with you. So yes, there will be a plot hole later where they’ve somehow already hooked up with you—just roll with it. Consider it canon-ish, but mostly just me playing around with ideas. tl;dr: This is a prequel of sorts to my other yandere Batfam fics, but I’m mostly here to have fun with the concept. Hope you enjoy! 💙 word count: 3201
Oswald Cobblepot prided himself on running a tight ship. The Iceberg Lounge was a beacon of opulence in Gotham, catering to a clientele that wanted their danger with a side of champagne. When he put out that little “Help Wanted” sign as a joke—an amusing way to signal to the people he was looking for that he was ready to onboard—he hadn’t expected someone like you to waltz in.
You were nervous but bright-eyed, clutching a copy of your résumé (how quaint) in one hand, wearing a Gotham University sweater that screamed student loans and part-time hustle. The smile you gave him when he walked into the lounge floor was disarming—too genuine for this city. You asked to speak to someone about the janitorial position, and Os had to bite back a laugh.
“A janitor? Here? Sweetheart, you might be too good for this place,” he muttered under his breath, too quietly for you to hear, before waving a hand dismissively at one of his goons. “Send her to my office.”
His office wasn’t where interviews were usually held—far too personal, far too… revealing. But for some reason, he wanted to gauge you himself. Maybe it was your naivete; maybe it was the way your gaze lingered on the crystal chandeliers and plush carpets like you’d never seen luxury this close before. You were looking at him as a normal boss, not a criminal mastermind, and he realized he might like that.
By the time you’d been seated in the chair across from his polished mahogany desk for only 15 minutes, he was already hooked. He asked simple questions at first—your availability, your experience—but quickly veered into territory that let him know more about you. Your classes at Gotham U were interesting, but you worked too much to fully appreciate them. You loved your psychology major but struggled with scheduling, hoping that the pay here was more than the measly pay you scrounged from your other two jobs. He listened with great interest as you spoke of your genuine excitement to be working in a "classy place like this."
He didn’t have the heart to tell you this place wasn’t really classy—just good at pretending.
Cobblepot tilted his head, the curiosity in his expression sharpening as he tapped a finger against the arm of his chair. “You’re not from here, are you?” he asked, a sly grin forming. “So, what do you think of our little city?”
“Oh, uh…” You laughed nervously, shifting in your seat. “It’s… something, that’s for sure. Gotham’s kinda like… I don’t know, a scrappy mutt? It bites, like, a lot, but you can’t help but wanna pet it anyway. It’s scrappy and loveable.”
Oswald chuckled, the sound low and genuine. “Lovable?” he repeated, shaking his head. “You’re a strange one. Most people run for the hills when it comes to Gotham.”
“Yeah, well…” You shrugged, the faintest smile tugging at your lips. “I’m already here, so I might as well figure it out, y’know? Plus, it’s not all bad. I mean, the people are tough, and the city’s got… personality. A weird, messed-up personality, but still.”
He found himself appreciating your honesty. It was a rare thing in his world—people who weren’t either trying to butter him up or wring him dry. And that smile… Hm. Something about it didn’t belong here.
Then, the door to his office slammed open. A goon stumbled in without so much as a knock, huffing like a dog chasing its own tail as he fumbled a thick stack of papers in his hands.
Oswald snapped to attention so fast it was animalistic. One second, he was relaxed, bemused by you—the next, his face contorted with fury, his lips curling back in a snarl that made the dim office feel suddenly suffocating.
“What?” Cobblepot snarled, his tone cutting like ice. The very air in the room seemed to turn electric, humming with the promise of violence.
The goon froze mid-step, eyes darting between you and his boss. He looked like he’d just walked into an execution chamber by mistake.
Oswald’s teeth clenched so tight a vein throbbed visibly in his temple. “You knock before coming into my office,” he seethed, voice dropping to something far more dangerous than the initial explosion. Cold. Calculating. A blade slipping between ribs. “You wait. You don’t—”
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw you.
Frozen.
Wide-eyed.
And just like that, the change was immediate.
His snarl vanished. The storm passed in an instant, like flicking off a switch. The barely-contained rabid rage that had been twisting his face smoothed into something almost… embarrassed. Guiltily casual.
Cobblepot glanced back at you, then at the goon, then back at you. For a brief, telling second, he looked—not regretful, but calculating. Then he sighed through his nose, rolling his shoulders like he was shaking off an unpleasant thought.
"Handle it later," he ordered, voice abruptly warm. Silk-soft. As if he hadn’t just been inches from taking a man’s head off. His hand flicked lazily toward the door, a dismissive gesture. “Can’t you see I’m with someone?”
The goon scuttled out of the room like a kicked dog, the papers in his hands rustling violently as he clutched them to his chest.
The moment the door shut, Oswald let out a measured breath, as if centering himself. Then, in a whiplash-inducing shift, he turned back to you with an awkward, almost sheepish smile.
"Sorry about that,” he said, voice dripping with artificial sweetness, as if his outburst had never happened. He waved a hand, dismissing it entirely, his gaze keenly watching your expression for any lasting tension. “Some of my employees just don’t have any manners.”
You offered a polite, thin smile, still shaken, but brushed it off with a shrug. You had already figured this place wasn’t exactly warm and welcoming, but the speed at which his fury had vanished was... unsettling.
Oswald noticed.
He noticed everything.
And for the first time in a long, long while… he wasn’t sure if he liked the way your smile still had a hint of nerves clinging to it.
The Batcave was unusually quiet, save for the faint tapping of Tim’s keyboard and the low hum of the monitors. Bruce sat at the console, watching the live feed from Oswald Cobblepot’s office. You were seated across from the Penguin, a mixture of nerves and polite excitement etched on your face. The Iceberg Lounge’s chandelier lights reflected in your wide eyes as you gestured animatedly, your Gotham University sweater and résumé betraying your earnestness in a city that thrived on deception.
“Can’t decide if she’s brave or just clueless,” Tim remarked, leaning back slightly as he toggled between camera feeds. “She walked into Cobblepot’s lair with a résumé. A résumé, Bruce.”
“She’s a student trying to make ends meet. That’s not bravery—it’s necessity.”
Damian’s voice crackled through the comms. “She really responded to a ‘help wanted’ ad? Tt. Typical. Of course that bloated bird would choose a naive one. She’ll probably end up scrubbing vomit out of his VIP lounge carpets.”
Tim tutted thoughtfully at Damian’s comment. “I mean…..he’s probably aiming higher than janitorial work for her. Did you hear the way he sweetened his voice?”
Damian scoffed but didn't reply.
A new voice broke in over the comms—Dick, speaking from his position on patrol. “You think she knows what she’s getting into? Working there isn’t exactly safe.”
“She doesn’t,” Bruce answered simply, “But that doesn’t make her unique. Plenty of people stumble into Gotham’s underworld without realizing it. We can’t save everyone.”
Tim muttered, “Still doesn’t mean we should ignore it. If Penguin’s targeting her for something, we’ll want to know why.”
Damian chimed in again, his tone slightly mocking. “We already know why, Drake. He likes his toys naïve, optimistic, and disposable. She won’t last a week before she gets a reality check—or worse.”
Bruce’s eyes flicked toward the feed as Cobblepot stood, offering you a hand and gesturing toward the door. “They’re moving,” Bruce said. “Tim, keep the office feed rolling, and find another camera angle.”
“We won’t have audio and depending on where he’s taking her, I’m not sure we’ll have visuals either.”
There was a moment of silence, the kind that spoke volumes in the Batcave.
Dick broke it. “She’s smart enough to know what Cobblepot is, right? I mean, who walks into the Iceberg Lounge thinking it’s just a nightclub?”
“People who don’t know Gotham,” Tim replied, scrolling through files, soaking in what he can on you. “..She’s a psych major at Gotham U, full-time. She’s been juggling two jobs already, so she’s probably just desperate for the paycheck.”
Damian’s tone turned sharper. “Desperation or not, she’s still a fool. You don’t wear a sweater with your university’s name on it when you waltz into the lion’s den.”
Tim smirked. “Guess she didn’t take Gotham’s prerequisite: Street Smarts 101.”
The screen now displayed the empty office, Cobblepot’s desk abandoned. You were out of their sight, and for the moment, out of their reach. But the Batfamily wasn’t about to let you disappear into the darkness of Gotham without a trace. Tim was scrambling to find a feed that would give them info as to where Cobblepot’s taking you, but at the very least, they have relevant info on you.
Dick’s voice again. “Did you hear her in that interview? ‘Lovable but scrappy.’” He smiled faintly at the words. “She actually likes Gotham. We should keep it that way.”
Tim again, confirming some details. “Transferred to Gotham U from out of state. No criminal record, no red flags.”
Damian’s voice cut in, sharp and dry. “Other than walking into the Iceberg Lounge with a résumé. That’s a red flag for stupidity.”
Dick countered, his tone softer now. “She doesn’t know any better. Give her a break.”
Jason laughed, his voice snarky over the comms line from his own patrol. “Oh, sure, Grayson. Let’s all gather around and shield her from the big bad city. What’s next, care packages?”
Dick sighed audibly, “Don’t you have a crime boss to scare right now?”
Jason chuckled, the sound low and warm. “Already done. You should’ve seen the look on his face. Priceless.” Another faint noise came through, likely the reloading of a gun.
Bruce’s voice cut through before Dick could respond. “Enough. Focus, Jason.”
“Whatever you say, B,” Jason replied breezily, though the teasing lilt was still in his voice. “I’ll keep an eye out, too, just in case our scrappy little friend stirs up any trouble at the Iceberg.”
Damian snorted. “I’ll enjoy seeing Cobblepot’s face when she quits.”
Bruce didn’t respond right away. His eyes lingered on your face, captured mid-smile on the monitor. Quietly, he murmured, “She’ll need another job. A safe one. I’m sure Wayne Enterprises will have something available for her.”
“Keep me updated,” Batman ordered as he stood, his cape swishing as he headed toward the Batmobile. “If she gets in over her head, we’re pulling her out. No debates.”
Damian’s voice came back, quieter this time, reluctant. “She’s already in over her head.”
Little did they know, Oswald Cobblepot’s schemes for you were the furthest thing from exploitative labor. In his mind, the idea of you actually toiling away with a mop and bucket was quickly becoming unthinkable—borderline offensive, even.
The moment he saw the way your eyes sparkled with hope and determination, and saw the way you'd listed your good grades on your resume in a hopeful attempt at impressing him and proving your aptitudes, he’d decided he’d let you sleep on the job if you wanted to. Hell, he’d set up a whole suite in the back of the Lounge if it kept you close and content. You could waste time dusting the empty liquor shelves or filing nonexistent paperwork all day if it made you feel productive. What mattered to him wasn’t what you did—it was that you were here, where he could keep an eye on you.
But of course, Cobblepot wouldn't admit that to himself. Not yet, at least. No, this was just “good business,” he rationalized. You were a valuable asset—your charm and friendliness were enough to lighten up even the Iceberg’s darkest corners. You had a way of making the whole place feel... welcoming and warm, like you were untouched by Gotham’s grime and crime. Plus you wanted to be productive. He scoffed under his breath, amused. Of course one of the first fresh faces ready to work at the Lounge was also someone who he didn’t dream of involving in his actual operations. Just his luck.
So, if you decided you needed an afternoon nap in the dusty janitorial closet? He’d send a goon to bring you a pillow. If you scoured the cleaning supply catalog for hours without actually ordering anything? He’d find it endearing. As long as you were happy and oblivious to the underworld swirling just beneath the Lounge’s polished surface, you could do whatever you wanted.
Unbeknownst to them all, while they debated your safety, Oswald was sitting back in his office, already plotting ways to make your life easier. Sure, he’d keep up the charade of being your boss for now—keep you busy with harmless tasks so you didn’t get suspicious. But he wasn’t about to let you work too hard. Not his sweet, naive new hire.
You didn’t belong in Gotham’s shadows. And as far as Oswald Cobblepot was concerned, he’d make sure you never had to find out just how dark they could get. Or at least, he’d try.
By the time Oswald walked you to the janitorial closet—a tiny, forgotten room in the back of the lounge—he was already plotting how to keep you close. The closet was practically empty, a detail that normally wouldn’t bother him, but the way your face fell at the sight made him want to slap whoever was supposed to manage the damn place.
"Um… is this where I’m supposed to… work?" you asked softly, your voice unsure as you peeked into the empty closet. Your eyes darted around, taking in the barren shelves and dusty floor, as though you’d missed some hidden stash of supplies. "It just… doesn’t look ready yet?"
"Ah… this won’t do," he said quickly, covering his irritation with a smooth smile. "Looks like someone’s dropped the ball here. Don’t you worry about this, darlin’. I’ll get one of my guys on it—someone reliable. You’ll have everything you need to get started."
His tone was honeyed, and though he aimed for casual reassurance, his sharp eyes flickered to the shelves like he wanted to set the whole closet ablaze for offending you. For fuck’s sake.
“No, no, this won’t do at all,” Oswald said again, shaking his head and clucking his tongue like he was personally offended by the state of the janitorial closet. “You deserve better than this mess, darlin’. I’ll have it sorted by tomorrow, you have my word.”
You blinked at him, “If you want me on the job today, I can make something work,” you offered tentatively, gesturing toward the dusty shelves. “I’ve been in worse spots before.” You gave him a sheepish smile, trying to seem accommodating.
Cobblepot scoffed softly, waving a dismissive hand. “No, no, absolutely not. I won’t have my new employee starting off in such... subpar conditions. It’s a poor reflection on me, and I can’t have that, now can I?” He straightened his tie with an air of exaggerated importance before leaning on his cane. “Here’s what we’ll do instead. You take the night to get familiar with the Lounge—on the house, of course. Have some drinks, relax, mingle a bit. Consider it my way of welcoming you to the team.”
You blinked again, even more confused. “Oh, um, that’s really generous, but shouldn’t I, like… fill out some paperwork first? Or sign something?”
Oswald chuckled, a warm, low sound that almost made you feel silly for asking. “Paperwork? We’ll handle all that boring nonsense tomorrow. No need to rush into the dull parts of the job, eh?” He gestured toward the door, ushering you back into the main lounge. “For tonight, enjoy yourself. Swing by the bar, meet some of the staff, maybe say hello to the security team. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable at the Iceberg.”
You hesitated for a moment, unsure if this was some sort of test, but his expression was disarmingly sincere. “Well… if you’re sure…”
“Positive,” he interrupted, clapping a hand on your shoulder with surprising gentleness. “Now, off you go. The night’s young, and the Lounge is at your disposal.”
As you stepped out of the closet and back into the opulent main floor, you glanced over your shoulder to see him watching you with a smile that seemed too genuine for someone of his reputation. You didn’t know him, but you’d heard some things.
Unbeknownst to you, Cobblepot wasn’t just offering you free alcohol or a night to relax—he was staking his claim. He wanted you to feel at home, to see the Lounge as a safe haven, a place you’d always want to return to. Sure, there’d be paperwork eventually, but for now, the only thing that mattered was keeping you here, comfortable and unaware of the darker dealings hidden beneath the glamour.
Tim leaned back in his chair, toggling between the camera feeds inside the Iceberg Lounge. He was alone in the Batcave now, the others out on patrol in the city. “Well, there she is,” he muttered, zeroing in on his view of you at the bar. You were perched on a sleek barstool, your Gotham University sweater a stark contrast to the high-end fashion of the Lounge’s usual clientele. “She’s… drinking. A lot.”
Jason, freshly back from patrol—or what little of it he actually bothered to finish—sauntered into the Batcave, pulling off his helmet and setting it down with a thud. “That’s her?” he asked, nodding toward the screen.
“Yeah,” Tim replied without looking away. “You decided to show up?” His eyes flickered to the time down at the bottom of his monitor. "Thirty minutes early? B's not gonna be thrilled."
Jason ignored the jab, stepping closer to get a better look. “Huh,” he muttered, crossing his arms as his sharp eyes drank you in. You were laughing at something the bartender said, your cheeks flushed. You gestured animatedly with your glass while saying something they couldn't hear. “She doesn’t look like much.”
Tim raised an eyebrow, glancing up at Jason. “That’s what you cut patrol short for? To see her in person?”
Jason shrugged, his gaze fixed on you. “I was curious. Heard you and Damian going back and forth about her. Figured I’d check it out for myself.” His lips quirked into a faint smirk. “Didn’t expect her to be… this.”
Tim tilted his head. “This what?”
Jason gestured vaguely at the screen. “This… normal. Sweater, messy hair, drinking like she’s celebrating her midterms being over. Doesn’t scream ‘Iceberg Lounge material,’ y’know?”
Tim chuckled, toggling to another camera feed for a better angle. “That’s kind of the point. She thought she was interviewing for a janitorial position, Jason. Janitorial.”
Jason blinked, then snorted. “You’re kidding.”
“Wish I was,” Tim said, leaning back in his chair. “She walked in there with a résumé—an actual paper résumé—and asked about cleaning floors or whatever. Cobblepot probably laughed his ass off before offering her a drink.”
“He’s footing the bill by the way,” Tim added, toggling to a feed that showed the Penguin subtly watching you from across the room as he conversed with some guests. “She hasn’t reached for her wallet once. He’s just… letting her.”
Jason’s eyes narrowed as he studied the Penguin’s expression. There was no malice there yet, no obvious scheme in motion. Instead, Cobblepot looked almost… satisfied, like he was pleased with what he was seeing. “The hell’s his angle?” Jason muttered, his top lip curling in disgust at the possibilities.
“No idea,” Tim replied. “But if I had to guess? He’s trying to butter her up. Make her think the Lounge is a safe place, keep her happy and oblivious while he decides what to do with her.”
Jason scoffed, leaning back against the console.”She won’t last a week.”
Tim smirked. “You’re awfully invested for someone who just met her. Maybe you should prep a care package.”
“I didn’t meet her,” Jason shot back, though his eyes flicked back to the screen almost involuntarily. “I’m just saying, someone needs to give her a reality check before she gets eaten alive.”
“Maybe,” Tim said, watching as you swayed slightly to the music, chatting with another patron who’d joined you at the bar. “But she doesn’t look like she’s in danger. Yet.”
Jason grunted, pushing off the console and grabbing his helmet. “Yeah, well, I’m keeping an eye on this one. If Penguin tries anything, I’m ending it.”
Tim raised an eyebrow. “Oh, so now you’re helping? Didn’t you just skip the last half of your patrol?”
Jason smirked as he turned toward the exit. “Hey, monitoring Gotham’s underworld is part of the job, isn’t it? I’m just doing my part.”
Tim shook his head with a laugh as Jason disappeared up the stairs. “Sure you are.”
Back on the screen, you were oblivious to the scrutiny, to the way the curiosities of Gotham's vigilantes were beginning to blossom into something more.

When is the joint ET interview scheduled to come out? I think when it’ll air would impact how people are feeling. Like if it’s directly after the finale that might make me a little more anxious, versus after the next ep which would seem kinda routine because they have post-ep stuff all the time
The only thing that makes me nervous about the two interviews is how random they seem when looking at them sorta from the outside.
Like why do we not have Kenny getting an interview after he killed it (the acting, not Bobby) for three episodes straight!!? Why isn’t he on ET? (Rhetorical question). Having OS and RG on there now just makes me a teensy bit nervous because the timing seems suspicious. If the show was doing PR clean-up for Bobby, I don’t know if they’d lean heavily into the buddie angle because the GA (Entertainment Tonight watchers not Buzzfeed who are younger and more socially online) wouldn’t expect them to. The thirst tweet interview doesn’t faze me, because it seems like ABC realizes they have a good pair they can use for marketing and this type of stuff used to be way more common a decade ago. It’s just the fact that there’s two things now, you know? Right at a time when I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Tim decided he wants to keep making shocking choices.
I’m still a believer in BuckTommy resolution because it would make no sense to include Tommy again when he had so many opportunities for the show to say “that’s it.” And it just makes the most sense for the story to have them back together. But idk I think I got some of the anxiety vibes floating around. I think after Thursday we’ll have a much better idea where the season is going to end which will hopefully help disperse fears (I hope!!!!!)
Sorry this turned into something else entirely. I really was just going to ask the first part. Hope your VO stuff is coming along well!!
Please keep in mind that this ET segment 'Spilling the ETea', as far as I'm aware, doesn't air on television. It's an online segment. So, it IS very much for the chronically online.
I don't know when it'll come out but online segments obviously don't need as much time as segments that air on television. I'd assume we're getting one this week.
The thing is, the clean-up is for the fandom. They're the only ones actually making noise and pestering the cast and crew. So, yes, they 100% will fall back on buddie to get them to shut up. It's literally what PR does. I'm sure ABC had this shit planned as soon as the gave the okay to kill off Bobby. The 911twt fandom has a reputation and by now, it's child's play at what will appease them.

2026
Since that night in your apartment, you and Yoongi have been texting back and forth again, solidifying your established connection. Yet, amid this closeness, you couldn't help but grapple with the confusion of your feelings. You enjoyed your interactions with him, but a nagging fear lingered at the back of your mind—that perhaps Yoongi was just caught up in the situation, still playing the role of Minho to your Minseo. You worried that one day he might realize he could stop pretending and leave you behind.
Months after the episodes aired, you both continued to receive comments from fans asking for a continuation of their story. The photo shoot and interview sessions that you and Yoongi did only fueled the fire even more, your undeniable chemistry was once again evident to the public.
One day, as you hung out in your apartment, another newfound routine you had established with Yoongi, you broached the topic. The two of you were sitting comfortably on your couch, each momentarily preoccupied with something else but still enjoying each other's company, a welcome break from your busy schedules.
Your agent sent a message, reminding you to give your decision about the production company's offer to proceed with the sequel of that drama. You had presumed some time ago that your manager might have some superpower, and she proved it once again with the timing of the text as if she knew you were hanging out with Yoongi on that unsuspecting Thursday night.
You sighed, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between you. "You know, Yoongi, the production company is nagging me about a possible sequel for Minseo and Minho," you said, your voice tinged with both annoyance and uncertainty.
Yoongi leaned back against the sofa, deep in thought, pausing from his tinkering on the laptop he had brought with him. He had claimed that working in your company boosted his productivity, and you tried hard to suppress the butterflies threatening to burst from your stomach ever since.
"I've heard about it too, and I can understand why they'd want more," he said, his voice measured.
The unspoken "but" hung in the air, a shared hesitation between you both.
You continued, "This might come as a surprise, but I don't think we should do it. To me, Minseo and Minho's story isn't meant to be explored further. There's beauty in letting the audience imagine what's next for those two."
Yoongi nodded thoughtfully. "Sometimes, leaving things to the imagination can be more powerful."
"Besides, our schedules are going to be crazy this year. You're busy preparing for the group's comeback, and I have other projects lined up as well." You shot him a warm smile, your eyes filled with understanding. "And ultimately, I know it's not something you truly want to do."
Yoongi sent you a grateful smile and decided to open up a bit more. "Honestly, I've got so much on my plate with the group's comeback. And, well, I've been working on some solo stuff too.”
Your curiosity got the best of you as you prodded further, "Solo stuff? That sounds exciting. Are you planning something big?"
He nodded, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Yeah, I thought it was about time to work on new songs and concepts."
"Is Agust D making a comeback too then?" you asked hopefully, your admiration for his solo work no longer a well-kept secret.
Yoongi chuckled softly, surprised by your enthusiastic response. "Why? Have you heard of him?"
"Heard of him? Yoongi!" you exclaimed, your frustration mixed with embarrassment. "I'll have you know that I was at your final show!" you quickly added.
Yoongi's eyebrow raised in surprise. "Really? Are you a fan, then?"
Your cheeks turned a shade of red as you struggled to find the right words. "I, uh... I mean, I've enjoyed your music, okay?" You buried your head in one of your throw pillows, feeling like a teenager admitting her feelings to a crush.
He chuckled, a warm and amused sound that filled the room. "Hey! In all the time we've known each other, I haven't heard you mention this. At all."
Peeking out from behind the pillow, your cheeks still flushed, you admitted, "Well, it's not something I go around telling everyone, you know? Besides, you never asked!"
Yoongi raised an eyebrow, his mischievous eyes locked onto yours. "So tell me, which song do you like best?"
"One song?" You whimpered, feeling a touch overwhelmed. Your brain quickly reviewed your choices, from his first mixtape to his solo album. "You can't ask me to pick just one favourite!"
He grinned, clearly enjoying your dilemma. "Come on, it can't be that hard. Just one."
You pretended to ponder for a moment, although your heart had already made the decision. "Alright, if I really have to choose one, then... " With a heavy heart, you finally revealed your pick, feeling guilty about slighting his other songs by only choosing one.
His grin widened, satisfied with your choice and your dramatic expression. "Good taste," he teased, making you blush even more.

As you sat in your script reading session for your upcoming shoot, news broke from a notorious media outlet. The headline screamed, "Suga Spotted Leaving Restaurant with Mystery Woman." Your heart sank, and a wave of sadness washed over you. You quickly put your phone away, not wanting to deal with the emotional turmoil while having to run through the script with the rest of the cast and crew.
The session ran for a few hours, and unbeknownst to you, your silenced phone had been going off nonstop. Messages and calls were coming in rapid succession. When the session finally finished, your manager met you with an exasperated look as you entered the car heading to your agency office.
Your manager called your name, irritation clear in her voice. “Do you have something to tell me?”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you leaned against the backseat of the car. “What are you talking about?”
“The article,” she said.
Your mind wandered to the headline you saw earlier. She shouldn’t be concerned about that. Was there anything else? Apparently, your continued silence was her breaking point.
“At which point were you planning to tell me about your shenanigans with one Min Yoongi of BTS?” she said in frustration.
Your eyes popped open in shock, your head quickly turning to look at her in surprise.
"Don't look so surprised. This is exactly what would happen if you decide to date anyone without telling me and the agency. Well, it's just magnified since it's him," she said as she handed you her tab, with the browser open to the article you saw the headline of earlier.
As you read through the piece, your anxiety heightened. It detailed how Yoongi had been photographed leaving a low-key restaurant some time ago. You continued scrolling, your heart pounding in your chest.
Then, your shock was palpable as you came across the photo. It was indeed Yoongi, leaving the restaurant, and the woman by his side was unmistakably you. Your friend's burger joint, the one you had insisted he try, was the backdrop for the photograph.
You clearly remembered that night. You and Yoongi were hanging out late in your new apartment when he mentioned craving a burger. You quickly convinced him to try out the burger joint that your friend had recently opened nearby. Seeing your enthusiasm, Yoongi quickly agreed with a teasing smile. It was late, in the middle of the week, unlikely that the restaurant would have many customers, but you still called ahead and asked your friend for a private table in the back of the restaurant, more for Yoongi's privacy than your own.
You and Yoongi had walked there and later back to your apartment, ditching your car, thinking that no one would pay attention to two people in baggy hoodies, sweatpants, face masks, and beanies strolling through your quaint neighbourhood.
Amidst your walk back, Yoongi had playfully proposed a bet, centered around Bagel's reaction to the enticing scent of meat grease that clung to both of you. As his confident owner, you felt affronted by the challenge. After all, who knew your fur baby better than you? So, with a smirk, you swiftly accepted Yoongi's bet.
As you entered the apartment, Bagel's reaction was decidedly different from what you expected. Despite your confidence in your pet-owning abilities, Bagel inexplicably favoured Yoongi's choice of bet. It was sheer dumb luck that won Yoongi the bet, and he couldn't help but grin triumphantly.
As the winner, he reserved the right to choose your next dinner destination. He quickly explained that he enjoyed the culinary adventure you had embarked on together, surprised that you, a former model with a notorious diet plan, had such a deep appreciation for food. You laughed along to his answer, appreciating the thoughtfulness behind his choice.
However, despite the laughter, a nagging feeling tugged at you. There was an air of nervousness in Yoongi's demeanour as he explained, a hint of hesitation in his voice and a subtle stutter that you couldn't quite ignore. It was as though he was hiding something, leaving you with a sense of curiosity and intrigue about what he might be keeping from you.
He has yet to exercise his right. Both of your schedules had been crazy, and you hadn’t hung out in the last two weeks. Just last night, he finally confirmed that he’ll come over to hang out tonight.
A wave of guilt and regret washed over you. You shouldn't have insisted on going to that restaurant.
“Manager-nim.” You whispered. “What do I do…?”
Your manager sighed, “Thankfully, you had the presence of mind to put on a disguise, and it's clear that fans haven’t discovered your new address yet,” referring to the fact that you had just moved to this new neighbourhood the week before that photograph was taken. “You’re not named in the article, but it's evident that the masses are inclined to think it’s you.”
You had no words to say, still clearly in shock.
Unfazed by your silence, your manager continued, “Now, you need to tell me what’s going on with you and him. We’re in touch with Big Hit, and both upper managements are prepared to release a joint statement for the two of you if necessary.”
“But...” You hesitated. “We’re not even dating.”
She frowned, her tone laced with concern. "Are you sure? If you're not dating now, do you think you might be soon?"
You weren't entirely sure. You knew you'd developed feelings for him, and you certainly enjoyed spending time together. But beyond that, Yoongi hadn't indicated his feelings clearly. At least, that's how it felt to you.
“I’ll cancel your meetings for the rest of the day,” your manager decided. “Please take some time to figure this out and let me know by tomorrow morning. We’ll have to release a statement by tomorrow night, at the very least.”
Numbly, you nodded. She had the driver direct the car to your home, and they left you alone with your thoughts.
You made your way to the couch, letting out a deep sigh. In the comfort of your home, the buzz of your phone in your purse finally caught your attention. Retrieving your phone, you found a flurry of messages from your manager, your best friend, and Yoongi himself.
You quickly sent a message to your best friend, asking him to give you some time to sort things out before you could tell him anything. You pondered how to break the news to him – the fact that you'd known Yoongi for a long time and had been hanging out with him after your drama shooting. You knew your best friend would recognize the woman spotted with Yoongi as you; he'd been shipping you two since the day your first drama episode with Yoongi aired.
With that message sent, you turned your attention to Yoongi's messages. His messages were a mix of concern and curiosity. He had sent a flurry of messages in the span of a few hours, along with phone calls too.
Yoongi: Hey, I saw the article. Are you okay? Yoongi: Why aren't you answering your phone? Yoongi: I tried calling, but you didn't pick up. Yoongi: We should talk about this. Yoongi: Oh, you're in the script reading session. Sorry. Yoongi: I hope it's going well! Yoongi: I know you've been wanting to play this type of character. Yoongi: Don't worry, they won't publish more articles. Yoongi: Big Hit is prepared to take legal measures. Yoongi: Just... text me back when you see this. Yoongi: Can I still come over tonight?
You sighed, realizing that he must have been worried sick about you. While you needed some time to sort out your feelings, you understood the urgency of the situation. Figuring out that you'd have a few hours before Yoongi would be free, you quickly replied, confirming that he could come over anytime, as your other meetings had been cancelled for the day.
To your surprise, not even an hour later, there was a knock on your door. You approached it cautiously, peering through the peephole to confirm the visitor's identity. It was indeed Yoongi, but he was heavily disguised, making you double-take to ensure it was not some creepy stalker trying to impersonate him.
Yoongi entered, looking both relieved and apologetic. "Sorry for being a bit late," he said, his voice slightly muffled by his ensemble. "I had to dodge the frenzy of fans and paparazzi waiting at the front of the agency building." He let out a frustrated sigh, clearly not a fan of the situation.
You gave a subtle nod, and without a word, the two of you slipped into an established routine, a comforting habit that had naturally developed whenever Yoongi visited.
First, as always, Yoongi switched his shoes for his pair of slippers. The comfortable black ones he had bought and stored at your apartment.
Then, he'd head to the kitchen to get a glass of water. He’d always use the mug he had brought for himself—a simple white mug adorned with a repeating pattern of his faces, clearly merchandise from somewhere.
Next, he claimed his spot on the couch, the one near a labelled box where his various chargers were neatly stored. On one of his first visits, he had adorably bemoaned your choice of gadgets, complaining that he'd have to bring his own set of chargers to your place. And so, he did that the next time he was over.
Lastly, you'd bring him snacks from your pantry. He had stocked some of his and your favourite snacks there after discovering your lack of inventory. As you were picking your choice for the night, you noticed that you'd need to restock some of his favourites, which he had finished during his last visit.
As you closed the pantry door, you froze in disbelief. When had this become a routine? The realization hit you like a tidal wave, and you couldn't help but feel astonished by how seamlessly he had integrated himself into your life, forming a comfortable routine without you even realizing it.
When you place the snacks on the coffee table, Yoongi already sheds his disguise. Now completely at ease in his simple white t-shirt and ripped jeans. As you both settled on the couch, there was a brief silence in the room. You could feel the weight of the situation hanging in the air.
Finally, Yoongi broke the silence. "I'm really sorry about all this."
You looked at him, noticing the sincerity in his eyes. Despite the new chaos surrounding your lives, you could still see the familiar warmth in his gaze. "I'm the one who should be apologizing, Yoongi. I insisted we go out that night."
He shook his head. "No, it's not your fault," Yoongi replied firmly. "If anyone should apologize, it's me. I was the one recognized in that photo, not you. If you had gone out with someone else that night, none of this would have happened."
You were taken aback by Yoongi's response, his words filled with self-blame. As he let out a deep sigh, his frustration was palpable, and it tugged at your heartstrings.
"It shouldn't be like this,” Yoongi muttered under his breath before saying his next words clearly at you, "I- I hate that I can't even take you out for an impromptu meal without it turning into a potential scandal."
You reached out and placed a reassuring hand on his arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. "It's okay, Yoongi. We just need to be patient and let things settle down. Maybe... maybe we should stop hanging out until then?"
"Do you really want that?" Yoongi asked solemnly.
As Yoongi looked at you with a serious expression, you couldn't help but hesitate for a moment. The thought of not seeing him for an extended period tugged at your heart. But you also knew that it might be the best course of action for both of your careers and peace of mind.
You replied, your voice tinged with reluctance, "I don't want that, Yoongi, but I also don't want to keep causing trouble for you or us. Maybe it's for the best, at least for a little while."
Yoongi let out a huff, his gaze dropping to the snacks on the coffee table. "See... I- fuck. This is exactly why I've been stopping myself. You deserve better... You deserve someone who can express his feelings and take you out on dates freely."
You were stunned by his words, unsure if he really meant what you thought he meant.
"What are you saying, Yoongi?" Your voice quivered with a mix of emotions.
"Do you really not know?" He whispered into the night, his voice filled with longing. "Have I not been obvious enough for you?"
You were speechless, your mind racing as you tried to process his confession.
"Clearly, I haven't been," he muttered under his breath. He turned to you and took your hands in his, prompting you to hitch your breath at the intimate gesture.
In the dimly lit room, with the weight of Yoongi's words hanging heavily in the air, you found yourself caught in a moment of vulnerability. His fingers gently caressed the back of your hand, sending shivers down your spine.
"Yoongi, I..." You began, struggling to find the right words, "I didn't want to assume anything."
He heaved another deep sigh before looking into your eyes with a mixture of longing and sincerity. He whispered your name softly, as if he had been keeping himself from saying this for a long time, "I care about you."
Your heart raced as you searched his eyes for any sign that this wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment confession. But what you found was a depth of emotion that mirrored your own.
"I had a plan," he let a curse slip from his lips again, "I didn't want to rush you or make things more complicated, especially with our careers and everything. But when I saw that article, I knew I needed you to know how I feel."
The sincerity in his voice and the tenderness of his touch made your heart swell with emotion. You were deeply moved by his confession and the fact that he had planned something special before the chaos of the article had intervened.
A soft smile graced your lips as you replied, "Yoongi, I care about you too, maybe even more than I should."
He responded with a genuine smile, one filled with warmth and kindness—the same smile that had captured your attention and perhaps even your heart when you first saw it years ago.
Leaning in closer, his forehead gently resting against yours, he spoke softly, "Then maybe we should give us a chance. We can be discreet, take it slow, and see where it leads."
It was an enticing proposition, one that filled you with excitement. As you gazed into Yoongi's eyes, you couldn't deny the connection that had been silently growing between you.
"I'd like that," you replied, a small smile gracing your lips.
In that intimate moment, the world outside seemed to fade away. It was just the two of you, finally acknowledging the feelings that had been quietly blossoming. The kiss that followed was gentle, a promise of something new and uncertain, yet undeniably exciting.

How to Hire a Linux Kernel Developer: Skills, Experience & Interview Questions
Linux powers everything from web servers to embedded devices, and its core lies at Linux Kernel - a crucial layer that demands deep expertise for modification, maintenance, and optimization. For tech companies that are building high-performance systems, device drivers, or custom operating environments the decision to hire software developers proficient in Linux Kernel can be a strategic move.
But kernel development is a niche skill and to hire the right developer requires you to know what to look for and to ask the right questions. In this article, we will cover how you can do it.
Finding the Right Low-Level Expert for High-Performance Systems
Kernel engineers bridge the gap between user-level apps and hardware by working at the lowest software layer. Frequently, when hiring Linux kernel developers, you often want to:
Patch or modify the kernel to work with particular hardware.
Create or troubleshoot device drivers.
Boost system efficiency or lower delay.
Assure mission-critical systems' security and stability.
This isn't how applications are usually developed. It calls for a solid understanding of memory management, operating systems, and the nuances of C programming.
Key Skills to Look For
Give these crucial areas top priority while vetting applicants:
Proficiency in C: Since C is used for nearly all kernel development, in-depth expertise is non negotiable.
Kernel module experience: Applicants should be able to write, compile, and load kernel modules.
Tools for Debugging and Profiling: It's crucial to be familiar with programs like gdb, perf, and ftrace.
Knowledge of OS Internals: Key ideas include scheduling, memory management, and I/O systems.
Version Control & Patch Submissions: It is highly advantageous to contribute to open-source projects or the mainline Linux kernel.
A candidate's ability to communicate effectively across time zones and accurately document their work is also essential if you're looking to hire remote developers.
Where to Find Talent
Using conventional methods to hire Linux kernel developers isn't always simple. These engineers frequently contribute to specialized communities like Git repositories and kernel mailing groups, or they work on open-source projects.
Some tech companies decide to collaborate with organizations that focus on low-level software development or embedded technologies. Others seek to hire programmers who possess a solid foundation in C and OS, then train them in kernel-specific techniques.
Interview Questions to Ask
After you've found a good applicant, probe further with focused questions:
What distinguishes user space from kernel space?
How would a production system's kernel panic be debugged?
Could you describe the Linux kernel's memory allocation mechanism?
Have you submitted bug fixes or patches to the mainline kernel?
How are dependencies between kernel modules managed?
What function does the Linux kernel's scheduler serve?
Asking them to describe a recent kernel-related project, including its objectives, tools, and methods for testing and validating their work, is another option.
Summing Up
You must know exactly what your system needs and what kernel experience will provide it in order to hire Linux kernel engineers. The correct hire adds dependability, speed, and profound technical understanding to everything from driver creation to system optimization.
These developers are essential to tech companies creating scalable and secure infrastructure. Whether you're looking to hire remote developers or in-house developers, a careful, skills-based strategy can help you find the best fit.

Heavy Rock - January 2002
So close and so far at the same time. The capital of Portugal is today without a doubt the best place in all of Europe to see and listen to rock. Good venues for concerts, friendly people, excellent business professionals in a market five times smaller than ours, affordable prices and a most attractive and scoundrel city that keeps that old flavor under a galloping modernity that every day makes it more equal to the Europe of the euro. On top of the brilliant and fatalistic Pessoa in every corner of old Lisbon that he portrayed so well in his books. Good food, a lot to see and it’s next door.
Fool who misses it. I promise to cover many concerts in English, among other things because the films were never subtitled. Some say that if it had not been for those idiot kings that we have been suffering from century after century, the Iberian peninsula would be only one and as powerful as Germany. Can be.
The sports hall of Os Belenense (the third football team in Lisbon after Sporting and Benfica) is a privileged venue for five thousand people, located on top of a hill that has the Jerónimos Monastery under its feet, in whose pantheon is buried Fernando Pessoa and the navigator Vasco de Gama, who set off to discover half the world from the also nearby Torre de Belen, right on the Lisbon pier.
The place is full on the first of the two nights of the Germans, with Clawfinger as opening act, old acquaintances who have had to cancel their concert in Spain, scheduled for the following day, because the first date scheduled in principle, which was sold in a few days, a second had to be added, which caused them to cancel their scheduled show in Madrid. When I find out that they are going to open the concert I am very happy and a few minutes before leaving I chat with the singer and guitarist, the same thing that I had done a little earlier with Rammstein at the hotel. These interviews will be included in the next issue of Kerrang!
In the forty-five minutes that they have been on stage, the Swedes show great professionalism and the new face of their music, more polished, direct, and less 'rapper' with a lineup just like the stars of the night: two guitars, keys, bass, drums and voice. Techno also emerges without losing the gray that put them on the map of the best European rap-metal.
Their latest album 'A Whole Lot of Nothing' is proof that they have brought their message very close to Rammstein, which a few times in the past opened for them when they climbed the charts. They must have treated them very well because now the Germans take them on tour whenever they can, and they are also generous in leaving them all the sound display that they later used. Of course not the pyrotechnic and light display; and therein lies the problem for the Clawfingers.
Because the most Rammstein staging teaches anyone. Good intentions, direct songs and the ordeal is clear is that they do not shrink and continue to make war.
Rammstein is the never seen. With one, if not the best, of the records of the year in their baggage and a lot of imagination, the sextet is a magnificent and impressive show both musically and visually. A lot of money and creativity at the service of a structure that is frightening due to the militaristic connotations of its clothes and postures. Together with the theatricality copied from the Catalans of the Fura del Baus, they create an explosive show where fire, a lot of fire, is also another great protagonist with distressing moments such as when in the first encore, with the theme 'Rammstein', the singer Till Lindemann remains in his burning suit for almost four minutes. The mastery of fire that these people have is incredible, forcing them to demonstrate all the fireworks to the government technicians before each performance. Seen and lived on stage, as I did, it scares a lot. As soon as the minutes allotted to the photographers were up, I ran off the stage as if the devil was chasing me, resembling a scene from 'Apocalypse Now'.
Eighteen songs as checkered as the hackneyed German mentality. It joins infernal industrial machinery that starts with 'Mein Herz brennt' from 'Mutter' to end with the version of Depeche Mode's 'Stripped'. Pure adrenaline that nails you to the ground while from all corners of the stage the fire is projected in a thousand ways (Valencians would have to wear them as stars of the next Fallas festivities) and they look like mutant beings out of a science-fiction movie to make an army of corpses dance. Nightmarish. Wagnerian music, in the classical sense, is like a single score with messianic choruses that tremble in the German language, giving that sinister theatricality that at times brings to mind the 'hail, Hitler' of the most sinister times in history, for course alien to the intentions of the group. The show could not be more heavy. They all form a mass in which no one goes off script and the solos are conspicuous by their absence, inheriting the old legacy of those pioneering German industrial metal bands such as Kraftwerk. Aware that they have made a great record with 'Mutter', they play a lot of it: 'Links 2, 3, 4', 'Feuer frei', 'Mutter', 'Ich will', 'Adios', 'Rein raus', ' Zwitter'… Almost the entire record falls. Moment of maximum intensity that is experienced when they download their great commercial hymn 'Du hast' and the staff bouncing like possessed. They connect with 'Buck dich' which includes the singer's little number hitting the keys from behind for a long time with a giant phallus that generously sprays liquid on those in the front rows. In the end, the drummer's ride in a rubber boat over the heads and arms of grief takes us back to the past because they copy it from what the American David Lee Roth did on his tours with a boat and a surfboard. The six say goodbye toasting with Champagne to the success of a party as brilliant as it is original. For the cretins who preach that rock is dying or that it has no way out, this is heaven open to a great future. The important thing is to squeeze the coconut to stand up to the owners of the circus, the Anglo-Saxons, who with projects like this it is not surprising that they feel threatened.
When a stewardess falls to the ground on a short-haul flight due to the violent shaking of the once imposing and now defenseless iron bird in whose stomach we defy gravity, it is to frown to say the least. They had warned that coinciding with the arrival to the peninsula of the men of the north also came the cruel winter of those of the plane, the snow, or the power cuts in Catalonia.
The storm had its vortex in the Palau Olympic de Badalona, a venue that was filled with, evil eye, nine thousand people eager to see one of the European monsters of metal.
If the capital had enjoyed the privilege of a concert presentation last spring for a limited number of people, this time in Madrid they were left with the desire, perhaps because there are no suitable venues to host this type of event. I know that we get very heavy with this matter, but it is so serious that it requires immediate solutions.
The fact is that Rammstein presented irrefutable arguments about why so different types of audiences like them beyond the gestation of him in the gothic scene. Thousands of people hypnotized by the grotesque, bloody, frightening and at the same time romantic show of the group despite the fact that they sing in German and 99% of the attendees do not even understand, it makes you think.
His repertoire unfolds with the perfection of a recently oiled industrial machine, it is a mechanical tune, reticent, a uniform whole supported by his risky bet on impact theater.
I'm still wondering how the hell do they not get burned by the continuous flames on the stage if I'm fifteen meters away and I feel in my retinas and complexion a burst of that infernal heat that contrasts with the icy outside environment.
By the account that brings you, for your safety and ours, almost everything in your show is perfectly calculated, but that does not prevent that when Oliver Riedel takes a boat ride through a sea of arms, he ends up taking a 'dip' in the masses when losing stability. It takes a second, but it's enough for my head to come up with the phrase: "don't try to do this at home".

𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐲 𝐎𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲?
(Hawks x fem!/reader) -> Mostly Fluff -> 1.4k
Synopsis: You and Hawks decide to go out for a date. He’s running a little late, and you’re alone for a bit. You end up meeting a close friend of yours, and Hawks isn’t very pleased.
Notes: Might be a little angsty/sad after hearing about his insecurities? Other than that, I would say this os is kind of fluffy. Hope you like it ^^
It was the day you were looking forward to (since the beginning of the week at least). The day where you and Keigo would finally go out. It’s been at least two months since you last talked to him. He was busy with his job, and you, with university. It saddened you that you both were separated by your choice in career. Him a hero, and you, an accountant. It may have sounded boring compared to his extravagant job, but it was one you found enjoyable.
Keigo texted you a couple days in advance, saying that he wanted to take you out. Of course you had agreed, and here you were, now at the mall waiting for him to arrive. You both planned to go shopping for a bit, and then watch a movie. Maybe go on a short stroll and part ways after. You made sure to fix up your appearance for once, knowing you might not be able to see him for sometime after. Plus, you wanted to make sure that you could make the best of things with the time given.
You waited for about ten minutes. Not thinking much about it, you decided to play on your phone, scroll through your socials, and do whatever you could to distract yourself. It worked for a while...until you found yourself looking at your phone for the next hour. You happened to scroll onto a post talking about Keigo at an interview.
‘I thought he said he was free today…’ you sighed and put your phone away.
You then got up from your seat. Though he doesn’t stand you up as often as he meets you, it still sucked knowing that you both barely met. This was the first time in two months, would you have to wait another three?...four even? You decided not to think too much about it, after all, you understood and respected Keigo’s schedule.
‘I guess I’ll get going now-’
“L/n?” you looked up to see a very familiar face.
“Watarou? What are you doing here?”
“I’m just strolling around haha. I just got back from America, and decided to do a little bit of shopping. You?”
“Oh...I’m...or rather, I was waiting for my boyfriend. He’s a little late though...so I think I’m going to get going.”
Watarou took note of your disappointment, and based on what he knew (about you), he thought about what would cheer you up.
“Hey...if you don’t mind, we should go and get some crepes. My treat.”
“Really!?”
“Really, like old times.”
---
Hawks arrived about an hour later. He felt super guilty that he wasn’t able to see you at the time he promised, but duty called when it needed to. He also knew you understood his schedule and was grateful for that. He was very, very thankful for it. Reason being, one thing that Hawks had always been insecure about, was his lifestyle in general.
He was constantly doing something, whether that be hero work, interviews, promotions, and so much more. That being the case, whenever he tried making relationships work, they’d always end with “why are you so busy?”, “can’t you try to make some time for me?” He tried doing his best, but things would always end because of that. But when he met you, things had changed.
Although he was a little reluctant, and it took a while to convince him, he ultimately knew you were someone who did respect his time. So because of that, he made sure to make your sessions special, to show the appreciation he had for you. Because of this, he always made sure to be on time. Rushing out of his work so he could sprint to you. So when he was late, he’d feel horrible for making you wait, secretly having thoughts about traumatic past experiences.
“Where is she?”
He tried calling only to realize your phone had died, it immediately sent him to voicemail. He was getting anxious at this point, maybe you went home? But then, you would’ve had a charger?...maybe it broke? He then looked around catching a glimpse of your hair...and what seemed to be like...another person.
He started to stride towards you. Just who exactly were you with? He then gazed as the two of you ate crepes together. You seemed to be enjoying your time with him while you both conversed. Hawks on the other hand, was not. Though he was fine with you having friends...your interaction seemed to be a little “too friendly.” He continued to watch from behind, and saw as he then slid something over.
“What’s this?”
“It’s a bracelet...do you like it?”
“It looks gorgeous!” you looked in awe as the gentlemen smiled.
“I’m glad you do. I’ve been trying to get the right gift for a while now.”
“Who wouldn’t like it? I can tell you put a lot of effort into it,” he then put his hand on the box as you continued eating your crepes.
Hawks had seen enough. To see someone give you that type of attention, whether he was a friend or not, didn’t sit right with him. Not only that, but it really hurt seeing someone else was treating you better than him (in his eyes at least). Regardless of who he was, Keigo was your boyfriend, and that being the case, should’ve been trying harder.
He then approached the both of you, and gave a cold stare to Watarou. Watarou seemed a little uneasy with the exchange, while you were thrilled to see Hawks. You got up and wrapped your arms around his torso, hugging him tightly as his hands stood at his side.
“Keigo! You’re here!’
“Were you having fun?...” he said, agitated as you then realized what was going on.
“Oh Keigo...I never knew you’d get jealous over something like this.”
“What!? What do you mean!?”
“Watarou, this is Keigo. Keigo, Watarou.”
“Nice to meet you man,” Watarou said as he gave his hand.
“Yeah...same here…” Hawks said while feeling uncertain.
“Watarou was just helping me kill time, it’s been a while since we last got together, so we took advantage of it while you finished your duties.”
‘So they’ve known each other for a while.’
“Yeah...I hope you don’t mind. I took her for crepes and we talked for a bit.”
“What about the bracelet?” Keigo would ask bluntly as he then said:
“Oh, I was asking for Y/n’s opinion. I’m gifting it to my sister, and since they have similar taste, I wanted her input on things. I’m glad they’re good.”
“Ahh...I see.”
“Well, I’m going to head out. I’ll see you both sometime, I have about two weeks left? So see you then!”
“Bye Watarou!” you waved as he exited the mall.
Keigo then realised as to why he was so irritated. It wasn’t that you had done wrong, no, he trusted that you were loyal. It was that his insecurities got the best of him, which threw him off. He was upset that such feelings got him acting so petty, especially towards someone who had done nothing wrong. Knowing this, he knew what he needed to do. He sighed to then look you in the eye. You still a little confused, he then apologized, saying:
“Dove...I’m sorry…”
“Sorry for what?”
“It’s just that...I was so caught up in my insecurities...that I assumed you were doing wrong…”
“Oh…” you weren’t going to lie, you were a little disappointed. Why would he even think that, after all your time together?...but then, you also understood his past and whatnot. Still, it bothered you to say the least.
“I’m sorry for that...along with not showing up on time. I tried my best to come, but I guess, Watarou beat me to it haha. Not in a bad way of course, I’m just grateful you had some company while I was on my way.”
“I guess so, but Keigo.”
“Hm?”
“You know, you won’t ever have to worry about that kind of thing. Even though I'm a little hurt by your assumption, I get why and will let it slide for this time,” he smiled and then grabbed your hand.
“Mhm, love you,” he pecked your cheek as your hands intertwined.
“Silly, I’d only fall for your chicken-like charms.”
“Aww, why not my Hawkish charms? Sharp, daring, handsome?” he winked as you shook your head.
“Because a chicken is vulnerable, soft, cute, and gives me loads of egg,” you then stared at his wallet as he rolled his eyes (playfully).
“Okay okay fine, let’s go catch that movie,” he sighed as you laughed.
“Sounds good to me!”

Event Schedule
Without any further ado--here's the official event schedule for Sapphic September! These are just suggestions, of course--if you'd prefer to create your own content on your own terms throughout the month, we won't stop you. This is just a mod-organized way of fostering interactions and having a general good time!
September 5-11: Prompt Week! Each day will be assigned a different word, and it'll be your job to create something themed around that one-word prompt! You can pick and choose your favorites, or try to create something new each day. It's up to you!
September 12-18: Blog Spotlights! Smaller artists and creators in the community will have a chance to talk about the blog they run, the characters they love, and what selfshipping and being WLW means to them in a series of short interviews! (We'll post a way to apply for an interview as these dates approach.)
September 19-25: F/O Takeover! It's time to flip the script! You can assign as few or as many of your F/Os as you like to run your blog temporarily and answer questions about you for a change!
September 26-29: To My S/I! Other shippers can come into your inbox and write letters to you as your F/Os! While this will likely be less formal than the larger To My S/I events we've had in the past, hopefully everyone will end up with at least one letter from someone special!
If you've got any questions about the current schedule, make sure to drop an ask in the inbox!

Who live next door? : Dragon next door (KSJ)
Author note : Finally, I’m back you guys. My uni decide to move my final exams schedule for the third time. Anyway, hope you enjoy my first os after break.
Shout out : The plot belongs to Hybrid Prompts @Ungnyeo in wattpad. (I think you also have your blog here, but I forgot. Sorry.)
Summary : Your ancestor was a well known dragon hunter. However, now is 21st century and you decided not to continue training. You moved out from your hometown and started a new life in a city. What you didn’t expect was your handsome neighbor/love at first sight will turn out to be a dragon. Not to mention that he is a sassy one.
Author pov.
“Be safe, dear.”
“Don’t forget to visit us, y/n.” Those were the last sentence from your parents before you left the house. Inhaling the fresh air for the last time and mumbling a goodbye for the last time, you jumped onto the bus.
You tried to calm your nervous self down by plugin the earphone into your ear and listen to music. Gazing out the window, you sighed. Many thoughts ran in your head.
Is your decision correct?
Will you have friends there?
Will your neighbor like you?
Train of thought lost you from reality. You didn’t realize yourself until a voice calling you.
“Miss, can I sit here?” You just nodded and moved a little for that someone to take a seat.
“You seem nervous. Perhaps, are you from out of the city?” Now you looked up and find a guy sat beside you. The beauty of his face made you quickly looked down and flushed. What a handsome guy.
“Did I startle you? I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s..I...nervous.” Your stutter made him chuckle.
He seemed to use lots of effort to strike a conversation with you. However, thanks to your stutter, it made things awkward. Still, he continued talking to you and ensured that you were doing great.
“And here we are, our stop.”
“Our?”
“Oh, I forgot to mention it. Your address is next to mine.” He scratched his nape and glanced at your house. He then jogged toward his house and turned around.
“Welcome, new neighbor.” Giving you the last wave, he entered his house.
There my heart, shaking as if it wanted to come out. You think you have a crush on him.
A week later everything seemed to be good. You found a job at a local bookstore. The owner was so kind and gave you the job without any interview. Saying that it isn’t common for someone in the town to want a job here.
“Namjoon-ah where should I put this box?” You stood still at your spot. Waiting for the boy to give you an order.
“Oh over here.” He ran toward you and picked the box out of your grip.
This boy was the grandchild of the owner. He was as sweet as his grandpa. Having you as the employee, he didn’t let you work much. All you need to do was the cashier work. He became your friend here in no time besides.
Your neighbor, Seokjin, which you got to know his name three days after your first encounter, was great. He was really helpful and always walked with you downtown.
Despite his warmhearted persona and stunning face, you noticed some odd things about him. First, he always wore a beanie or a hat when he hanged out with you. Secondly, no matter how hot the weather was, he would always wear a jacket or some days layer it all.
Finally, his body temperature seemed to be warmer than usual. You once joked around with him and clung around his arm. However, you felt hot so you suddenly ask whether he has a cold or not. He said that it was normal.
Another week later you guys plan to have a movie marathon and sleepover. Honestly, you tried to convince yourself to act normal and not to imagine that this was an indirect date.
Ring... Ring...
“Oh you ar...rive” You glanced at pillows in his embrace. You didn’t mean to look as if you were judging him. Counting the number, he carried 4 pillows from his house.
“You don’t need to carry them here since I have mine.” Now Jin was panic. He forgot that you didn’t know his secret yet and it was the reason behind his weird act.
“Ummm I just don’t want to use your belong that much since I always see you do laundry 3-4 times a week.”
‘Wow, he notices?’ You impressed and got distracted a bit.
“Can I go in?”
“Oh sure.”
Watching a movie wouldn’t be fun if there was no Jin. He could turn every serious moment into jokes, even if it was a scene in a horror movie. Both of you now cuddled on the sofa. The pillow he brought become useful since they all fluffy. It made the place fluffier and more comfortable.
“Tired?” Jin asked. Notice your body that busied cuddling with him and wiggled in his embrace to get sleep. Your eyes were half open and seemed to not focus on the screen anymore.
“hmmm,” You only hummed with a nod.
“Good night then, blossom.” He bent down and kissed your forehead to you who already drifted to dreamland.
Next morning
You woke up because you heard a growl and mumbled of someone. The realization then hit you. Looking around. you were in Jin’s embrace. All the growl and mumbled sounds came from him.
“Mine...” Your eyes widen when you got to hear those sounds. Every question started answering on its own in your head. Connecting all dots, you got the final answer.
He is a dragon.
“No!” You got out of his embrace by pushing him. Seokjin was awake and looked at you with eyes full of confusion.
“What happen blossom? Did I do something wrong?” He asked with a sleepy voice.
“You...you are a dragon.” Now he was fully awake from his beauty sleep. All of sudden he felt his heartbeat drop.
“Uhhh I can explain i-”
“You tried to fool me, did you?”
“No, I di-”
“I am very disappointed in you, Kim Seokjin. I thought we were a friend and it turns out you fool me. Perhaps, you want to kill me? Why yo-”
“Stop! If you are going to accuse me then stop. Ok, I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you. I trust you, y/n, but I also know you were a hunter. What do you expect me to when I meet you the first time and find out that my mate is also the dragon hunter?”
Now it was your turn to be shocked. First, you fired your anger toward him. Second, you accused him without thinking straight. Now, knowing a piece of new info that you were his mate.
“Seokjin, I a-”
“Save it, I know this will happen. Sorry for bothering you all this time and I won’t do it again. Have a good day.”
And he left.
2 weeks later
“Namjoon I fuck up.”
“For the hundred of time, when will you stop saying this to me? I suggest you go to his house and apologize to him.”
“No, it isn’t that easy. You know I...” You told Namjoon the full story without missing any detail. You trusted him when it comes to advise.
“Now I know. I’m not surprised that hyung feels upset. I will all feel upset if that happens to me as well. We only have one mate in a life time s-”
“Wait right there, what do you mean we?” Namjoon then chuckles with your reaction.
“I thought you know about this city.”
“I have no idea.”
“Y/N-ah This is a dragon city. Most people here aren’t just human. The ones who look like normal humans are mostly not human either. You are one of a few citizens here that are pure human.”
Namjoon then explained more about the town and promised to bring you and meet his friends.
“Now go to him and apologize to your man.”
Ring... Ring...
“Who dares to interrupt my bea- huh?”
“Is Jin here?” You asked the guy who opens the door. You assumed that this must be one of his friends. He nodded and let you inside.
“Upstairs, turn right.” You bowed as a thank you before went to the room according to the direction.
You gathered all your courage together and knocked on the door. Waiting there for a while, there was no answer. You dropped all the manner and entered Seokjin’s room.
“Yoongi, I swear I’m not hu- oh it’s you. What brings a little missy here?”
“Jin, we need to talk.” You spoke and tried to be calm.
“And what do you want to talk about? How I will kill you? How you will kill me?”
“No Jin it is no-”
“So what is it then? I didn’t pay for the grocery bill last time that we hang out? Oh no, I brought some of my food too. Let me think again. I parked the car too close to your entrance?”
“Jin stop, I come here to apologize, ok? I fucked it up, yes. I will admit that. I just want to correct things between us. I know I said those words and you are upset. I want to apologize for that. I didn’t know why I got so angry when I found out you were a dragon. I shouldn’t do that. Hell, I should be happy because I am your mate and you are my crush from the first day I arrived here. You might not forgive me and that’s fine. At least, remember that I am sorry for everything.”
Jin froze in his place. He didn’t know how to act, what to say, or even what is his feeling right now. He felt the guilt eating him because of his attitude toward you minutes ago yet his heart full of delight when he heard that he was your crush.
The moment of silence made you upset little by little. His face showed no emotion. You assumed that you were too late.
“I’ll go now and sorry again.”
The moment you opened the door, it closed immediately. The door slammed shut and then your body toward it. Jin towered your body and stared deep into your eyes. You felt like he was searching for your soul.
“I love you blossom.”
“I...” You didn’t get the chance to reply when his lips connected with yours. The kiss was heat and rough yet passionate. He continued to savor the sweet taste of your lips without caring that you were now out of breathing.
Your hand tried to push his check as a signal. His lips left yours with a string of saliva. Your face was flushed. Your heartbeat echoed in the room. Jin then grinned widely before carried you to his bed.
“Wh..what are you doing?”
“Cuddle.” He answered and placed you on the mattress. Kissing your forehead, he wrapped his arm tightly around your figure. Making you feel secure.
“I’ll make it up to you tomorrow then”
“Hmmm just sleep for now blossom, I’m tired. Besides, you have your whole life with me anyway.”
“Nah, you didn’t ask me out yet, Seokjin.”
“Very well, then be mine?” You turned around and faced him. You decided to tease him a little by peck him before answered.
“I’m yours.”
“Bold and eager are you?” He flipped then hovered you.
Guess what? No nap time for both of you.
Author note 2.0 : I hope you enjoy this one. I’ll see you next story(not sure whether it’s going to be in this series, but will write something soon). Thanks a lot and take care of yourself.

🧸🍯✨💌 for Grimsley ~ rebeccaselfships
🧸 - favorite memory of us
the first time i ever saw you battle a challenger—it was incredible. you showed so much passion and determination, but also managed to stay totally cool and smooth the entire time…it’s one of the things i admire most about you, and i love seeing it in action.
🍯 - the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for me
pretty much everything you do is sweet…but the one that sticks in my head the most is canceling an interview with the rest of the elite four just so you could make sure i was okay during a breakdown. i know how busy you are, i know how stressful it can get to move your schedule around, but the fact that you did it just so you could care for me means the world.
✨ - a wish i’d like to make for you, or our love
honestly? i wish that i could find a zorua for you. they’re rare, it’d be tough, but i know how bad you want to train one—any difficulty would be worth it to see you happy!
💌 - sweet words i want to share with you
thank you. i know that’s a little weird, but really, thank you. you’ve been here the longest out of anyone and you’ve always stuck by and loved me even when i feel like i didn’t deserve it. you mean so much to me, i’m so glad i found you.
(thank you so much for sending this rebecca!! 🥺 i hope you and your f/os are having a wonderful day, i always love seeing your posts on my dash! 💞)
