Deltarune Two Knights/Goddess Theories
I've had thoughts racing through my head for the past week and I think I've finally condensed them into a two theories I'm happy with: a timeline of events regarding the identity of the Roaring Knight that I'm almost 100% confident in (two Knights) and another I'm not as confident in but has way more interesting implications (God-Dess). I have anything God-Dess related in blue so if you're not buying it you can still read the more plausible parts without being bogged down.
Seven (not a solid number, just how long How to Draw Dragons hasn't been returned, which seems oddly significant and roughly fits how the characters look in the TV flashback) years prior to current day when Dess and Asriel were about our current age, Asriel and Dess did Dark World shenanigans (the "original version" of events shown in the first two S-rank rooms, the content of which doesn't quite match up with weird chapters 1+2 (white cloak as first party member, why does Alphys of all people play such a prominent role?). Just like what happened between Asriel and Chara, Asriel goes along with a plan to get stronger (possibly concocted by the more punk/metal Dess). A tragedy occurs and Dess is sealed in the bunker (as seen in the Lost Girl code dialogue).
It's possible that, rather than Dess, this was spurred on by a Chara analogue in the friend group (or possibly UT's Chara acting as their Dark Prince a-la "Let us erase this pointless world, and move on to the next"). With {"My 'human soul'[heart-shaped object]. My 'determination'. They were not mine, but YOURS." from first Geno ending + "the demon that comes when people call its name" from second Geno ending + "When the demon heart is crying" & "with your heart as my mark" from Raise Up Your Bat (almost definitely by or from the perspective of Dess)} I think Dark Prince Chara is more compelling, but I'm still not too sure. Dess's tragedy was or resulted in Dess and "Chara" merging into godhood (not hypergodhood, there aren't multiple human and monster souls in there). This would also match up with the Spamton Sweepstakes December page name change: Dess no longer means December, but Goddess.
Just like in UT, the human soul finds a new host, and the remainder is left in a meta-aware state (Lost Girl/Flowey). Without knowing of the soul's migration, we might be the thing worse than catastrophy meant to be in the shelter. This would also point to Dess's tragedy being Snow Grave related, as it would explain how we are able to teach Snow Grave to Noelle: Dess developed it naturally from getting stronger so we the soul have seen it (plus OST 47.C (the "song" that plays when we first see Carol) could be the sounds of this event, which could also recontextualize Kris's connection to the sounds of the ocean (i.e. Asriel told them to close their eyes and, as is a theme throughout Dark World events, their imagination worked upon that sound (perhaps the sounds of winds blowing fiercely like in the Knight's attacks?))).
Asgore was the one to seal Dess in the bunker (C4 Noelle's house vent dialogue shows he has what is presumably a Black Shard, a Dark World artifact he's certain can explain everything and get Toriel back). Unable to explain sealing a child in the shelter, he becomes a pariah, being kicked off the police force and divorced. Only a handful of people know the truth, among them being Alphys (whose dialogue when asked about the shelter implies she knows more than she's letting on, and would parallel with her knowledge of the True Lab in UT, maybe she was part of the friend group), and Carol who is one of the few people to not treat Asgore as a pariah and…
The Knight we meet in C3 is so obviously Carol: they have the same cross-shaped antlers, wield a one-handed slashing weapon (Carol's katana, mentioned in city hall C4 and seen hanging in the kitchen), Susie's dialogue during the C3 Knight fight makes a compelling parallel to how she talks to Carol in C4, Carol's introduction OST being the sounds of wind blowing like many of the Knight's attacks, the Knight's first attack pattern being a spray of flowers that explode into thorns tying to Noelle's imagery. She seems to be working to power up our soul: our Dark World level increases with each Fountain we seal, and the Knight both wants Kris to open portals and needs the soul to be in the Dark World (Kris's C4 phone call says as much). The only thing the soul uniquely does in the Dark World (that Kris would even remotely want, so no Weird Route or secret bosses (which Kris is ostensibly freaked out by)) is save/load (which Kris may be able to do on their own anyway, we save over their file at the beginning of the game) and close portals. This is where I lean towards God-Dess being true, since without it I can't fathom why this would be a desired series of events; you'd either want Kris to open Fountains and keep us as far away as possible or Kris not opening Fountains and having us close them where they occur.
However, assuming God-Dess happened, this could be an attempt to get us to Dess's level in an attempt to re-merge the two parts and revive her (Kris can live without us and is actively trying to keep us away from the shelter [obscuring the code, walking us away from the door in C4], and a kid so protective over Noelle [C4 Weird Route] would certainly participate in a similarly close friend's resurrection).
However, there will be a second identical Roaring Knight later in the story. In Ralsei's C2 telling of the prophecy, when he talks about the Titans, the central figure matches almost exactly with C4's Titan, while the two figures on either side of it are strikingly similar to the Knight (albeit with the Titan's face shield but not its body eyes). Everything that justifies the Knight being Carol also applies to Dess, and the first Knight's weapon has an odd shape somewhere between a sword and a baseball bat often depending on how it's being held, so two visually identical Roaring Knights, one wielding a bat-like sword and the other wielding a sword-like bat seems very likely.
Within the possibility of Goddess, maybe awakening the first Titan will give Carol the idea to use them to expedite the process or replace the need for our soul by using the Titans, only for the Titans to somehow fill the void left by the soul (thus giving the Knights the Titan's face shield just like in the prophecy). This Titan+Monster "anti-god" might then become the Angel given the Titan's angelic wings, but I think more likely Noelle will still become the Angel; a messenger of the Goddess.

. . . update to the rings of power verse . . .
Celebrían was born shortly before the War of Wrath. Celeborn, her father, most beloved and last tie for her mother to the earth below her feet, marched to war with promises of return . . . And never did. The last straw to her mother, and she joined the army, becoming a commander. Memory is thin, and though she was left in trustworthy hands, Celebrían became lost. Knowing only one thing: her parents had discussed moving east, and so Celebrían headed east, barely avoiding death and danger on every side. She was found by Amdír, a prince of Doriath, who took her in and adopted her as his daughter to be raised beside his son, Amroth. When he migrated to Lorinand, Celebrían went with him.
In the second age, she is known as the princess of Lorinand, and recognized as Amdírs daughter. But she desired learning, and she crossed the mountains into Eregion seeking Ost-in-edhil. Celebrimbor welcomed her and took her into his home as a guest. There she became the apprentice of the Loremaster, and the rest follows as previously stated. Admiration filled her for Celebrimbor who became a dear friend and mentor.
Concerning her mother and father, Celebrian believes that both are dead. And though she has heard the name "Galadriel" spoken in Celebrimbors halls, she has not come across her. The name means nothing to her, as young as she was when she was lost, she only recalled her as 'Naneth'.

Tag game! What are you top 10 fandoms of all time? Name them and then tag ten more people. Feel free to write as much or as little about why you like them!
Tagged by @supreme-sauteer~ These are in no particular order and I ended rambling a lil too long LOL.
1. Kuroko no Basuke
Tumblr media
Jk, ofc knb has to be first! It's been almost 10 years since I got into it and it's just the gift that keeps on giving. It's one of my comfort shows and it's gotten me through a lot tbh. Special shoutout to Kise, my baby who will forever be one of my favorite characters in media, and Kasamatsu, who I love with my entire being. Kaijou deserves better!!
2. Pokemon
Tumblr media
My original hyperfixation before I even knew what that was, LOL. Pokemon has been there for me for as long as I can remember, and I don't think anything will ever quite replicate the feeling of home I get from this franchise, whether it's the games or merch or the show. I will def be there when gen 5028373 comes out, still playing the newest Pokemon game on the newest console no matter how old I am.
3. Xenoblade Chronicles
Tumblr media
A newer fandom but one I fell into HARD. XC3 actually altered my brain chemistry and is probably my favorite game ever. My journey through the Xenoblade trilogy was magical and I can't get over how well the characters and stories are written, on top of having pretty fun gameplay. I'm super excited to finally check out XCX in March too!
4. TMNT 2003
Tumblr media
Another childhood fave and another comfort show. These boys genuinely feel like family to me, they're just so cozy. I'm honestly shocked how well the show holds up even today; the writing is too good! It's criminal how slept on this version of the turtles is compared to others and I will die on this hill.
5. Akatsuki no Yona
Tumblr media
The other day I realized I've been reading this manga for ten years which really made me have a belated quarter life crisis LOL. I migrated over from the anime, but man, it's SO SAD that they haven't animated the arcs after bc I love Yona (and everyone else's) growth through the series. I'm really anticipating how the series ends! Last chapter ripped out my heart thx.
6. Love Live!
Tumblr media
I haven't kept up with Love Live and I was introduced to it through LLSIF (RIP) but I still listen to so many of the Muse/Aqours songs to this day! Kotori is incredibly special to me in particular bc I relate to her and I'll always smile when I see her pop up. Also I sometimes use the cards for fashion inspo bc their fits are too cute!
7. Rurouni Kenshin
Tumblr media
I haven't felt comfortable following new RuroKen stuff considering everything, and tbh I don't think I'll ever be able to even reread/rewatch it bc it's forever tainted in my mind. But I can't deny how big of an impact it (esp Sano) had on me in my early teens, so here it is!
8. Sengoku BASARA
Tumblr media
Tbh I'm not really in the fandom anymore, but I met SO MANY of my mutuals who I'm still friends with today through it, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart <3 Those were some wild and fun times LMAO.
9. Ys
Tumblr media
Still making my way through all the older Ys games, but Ys 8 will forever be a legendary game imo and it has one of my fave OSTs of all time. Ys 9 and esp Ys 10 were also awesome! I finished Ys 10 a couple weeks ago and I'm still having withdrawals lol.
10. EXO
Tumblr media
Alright this one is kinda eh bc I never got super into fandom stuff, but it's been such a crazy ride watching them from debut to now! Jongin esp is one of my favorite humans on the planet and as cheesy as it is, his words helped me tackle some of my insecurities growing up. I'll always be an erigom and an EXO-L <3

yoo I'm so excited to binge the gw2 ost I happened to find One song from discovery but since I'm migrating my Spotify likes I haven't been focusing on finding new music.
also hell yeah pso2!! haven't played that ever since New Genesis rlly but man I really had fun playing it
I'm a big fan of GW2's ost though I won't say which ones (for fear of being stoned in the streets) I do think there's a few tracks that are a bit overrated which I normally wouldn't bring up because I hate just being like, negative about shit. However the reason I say that is because I believe personally that while those songs are good and all they overshadow every other really impactful and good song in the ost because they're the big popular ones everyone focuses on.
and yea! PSO2 is one of my like, 2 or 3 favorite MMOs. The music, the aesthetic, and even the gameplay are always just so much fun to come back to. I don't think NG is nearly as bad as people make it out to be, and I do enjoy certain aspects of it; but I fully admit that it feels lacking compared to the base game.
I think a big part of that comes from how the classes are handled in NG, with most only having a small handful of skills, PAs, and Techs that aren't actually very interesting. It leads to most players only using even fewer of their PAs and Techs because the bulk of the ones they have either aren't very useful or don't mesh well with the available skills. It's certainly fun to try to figure out proper combos but the game basically becomes spamming one or two PAs to win unless you play Force in which case you get literally just 1 single target and 1 AoE version of each element and your skills sort of give you a bit of extra variety? I mostly play Force in NG because what it sacrifices in fun movement it makes up for in fun variety. I mostly stick with the classic PSO2 mode though because nothing will beat the gameplay variety and skill combinations present in that game. I enjoy that while Hero, Phantom, Etoile, and Luster are the end game super classes; they can easily be matched by a half decent player using any of the base classes so long as they actually care about their build and weapons.
My one gripe that's sort of omnipresent in PSO2 is just how much of a grind the game is. I've gotten too cozy with Mabinogi's progression system being very lax about it's pacing and it results in feeling like PSO2 wanting me to constantly, literally; grind my weapons, find more of the same weapons to upgrade my weapons, then grind the skills on my weapons, then upgrade the element on my weapons, now do it all over again for each of the three pieces of armor, now do all the skill point side quests so you can get this 3% damage bonus from this skill which you need because there are only two modes for the story; Little Baby Gamer's First MMO Mode which will have you literally 1 shot every enemy and you never get to really enjoy any of the mechanics or boss encounters, or Your Ass Is Grass Mode where everything is max level and assumes you've poured countless thousands of hours into this game and now YOU get 1 shot by everything. That being said I love just playing with friends and hanging out.

What instruments do you play and what is your musical background? (How long have you been playing said instruments etc, how did you learn them) And any tips for aspiring composers?
i play the piano (in some middling capacity LOL), and i'm currently trying to learn how to play acoustic guitar (though it is a miserably slow process!).
in terms of musical background, general musical education in school aside, i'm pretty much self-taught - i don't know much music theory, nor can i read musical notation. but i do everything by ear, so i don't really need to know all these things B)
i started dabbling in music when i gained an interest in playing around with the piano my family has in their house back in like... 2013? 2014? and then i got picked up by my late music teacher in school to play in a band of rookies around the same time, though i'm a little fuzzy on the dates.
i played in the band for some 4-5 years, improving my piano skills and learning much about the music entertainment world. in the latter years of playing in this high schooler band, i picked up composition on the side, initially starting on silly little tools like Mario Paint Composer (silly famed NES game!) and later Advanced Mario Sequencer (this was my introduction to how soundfonts worked - i cobbled together a custom one myself once!). sometime in late 2018ish to early 2019ish i migrated to FL Studio 20, and have never looked back.
as for tips for aspiring composers... i swear i must've answered this somewhere already! but i guess repetition doesn't hurt. especially since this question has been in my askbox for ages LOL
i can surmise what i've learned in two lessons:
FIND OUT WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU! making music is not a linear single-file process by any means. almost everyone makes music in some different method and way. even when comparing myself to fellow composers, i find that our musicmaking processes differ greatly. don't be afraid to experiment with different digital audio workstations (DAWs), or various musicmaking programs. pick one, give it a shot - if it doesn't work, well, it is what it is. unorthodox ones are just as valid as mainstream ones! hell, i started out with Mario Paint Sequencer. that program looks like this! and yet people can make masterpieces with it. if you're looking for a good sort of middle-ground DAW, your best bet is probably SoundBridge - it's free, and it follows the general rules of other DAWs such as FL Studio or Ableton. there's also a few handy starting plugin tips in a previous post here!
KEEP GOING AT IT! musicmaking and composing are not easy processes. they often take time and persistence. but what i've found when working with the Deepwoken OST is, if you keep consistently chipping away at something, you eventually get good at it. set aside a certain amount of time each week for composing, - say, 1 hour? 2 hours? 30 minutes each day? up to you. and just Cook! don't worry about the end product, don't worry about the destination. get lost in the process of making. imagine you're making music for yourself, and not any audience. that, in my opinion, is when the best music is made. and like the lithuanian saying goes, "lašas po lašo ir akmenį pratašo" - or, "drop after drop, and water cuts stone". if you find the tools you're comfortable working with, and you keep working with them, you eventually get good at using them. B)
hope this helps!
