Rules I’m constraining myself to: I’ve either had to read the fic more than three times and/or have thought about it years in the future. (This means I’ll have to leave out some other fics I really enjoyed reading and thought were well written)

A bunch of different fandoms will be under the cut! (as I expose what I ship across the board too lol)

We’ll Meet Again by George deValier (usuk) (complete)

This is the first fic of george’s that I read, and I’ve read it multiple times, and it’s been integral in my shaping of characterizations within my own hetalia fics. I could include all of his works, but this one stands out the most. I also listen to the vera verse songs and get extremely nostalgic, so there’s that

WW2 AU. London pub owner Arthur Kirkland is driven to distraction by loud, brash American fighter pilot Alfred Jones. Unable to stop it, Arthur finds himself falling for Alfred’s charms… just as the pilot is preparing to leave for war.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue… by anonymous (pruaus) (unfinished)

This fic is odd in the sense that I found it while suddenly getting on a pruaus kick, during which I followed a bunch of pruaus people on tumblr. Eventually, I would find out years later that I was going to the same college as one of these people and become friends with them. So not only does this fic have a nostalgic tie to it, I find the story brilliantly written with wonderful characterization, though it is in a weird format.

Inspired by the film 500 Days of Summer, I’d really like to see a couple meet and fall in love, but eventually one (or both) ends the relationship because they realise it’s not working/they can’t imagine spending their whole life with this person/what have you. I’d really love to see how the relationship develops, with the happy times and the eventual bad times as it falls apart, and then the hope of finding love elsewhere.

Redeemer by CocoaCoveredGods (L x Light, Mello x Matt, Mello x Light) (complete)

I can’t tell you how happy I am that I found this fic after 6 or so years. I can’t tell you how nostalgic is makes me for my death note phase, remember when I would read this in my mom’s office, minimizing the fic on a laptop I hope she never checked. The writing is phenomenal. The format on this site is wonky, but doable to read. (I’m even reformatting it myself right now). It’s mostly everything I could have wanted in a death note fic; it even inspired my own very complex death note AU back in the day. In some alternate reality, I wrote that instead of AWH. I plan to maybe make a personal paper copy for myself of this fic I love it so much. It is on the level of George’s stuff on how much it means to me.

The story takes place *after* Death Note ends, although the main characters have not died. Here the Yellowbox Warehouse is essentially the pinnacle of L's 6-year long offensive against Kira, who believes L to be dead, when he really isn't. L faked his death, and proceeded with the case behind the cover of his three top heirs, Mello, Matt and Near. Kira himself doesn't succumb to his defeat, but is instead rescued at the last moment by his nemesis lover who decides that a more apropos end to the God of the New World is not death--but redemption, in the form of a new case and a 5th so-called Kira, that L and Light must bring down together... or risk losing everything. Yes, there is actually a plot LOL Buuuut, this puppy has yaoi and pairing's aplenty. LxLight and MelloxMatt are technically the mains, but when you cut straight down to it, this is a story about Light and Mello and how they go from hate to need, from enemies to lovers, and maybe even something more...

I love death note, okay? After the beautiful live action series came out (the recent japanese one not that fucking netflix shit), I felt the need to read some fanfic of the series again, and I found this. HOLY SHIT. It’s a soulmate AU that goes through the plot line of the manga/show and fuck. Light is Ace?? The writing is so good??

L is the greatest detective of not only this century, but of six centuries. And then there’s Light.

Between the Lines by Klitch (Fushimi Saruhiko/Yata Misaki) (complete)

I’ve read this fic about 5 times and have accepted it as canon for this stupid show

The first time Yata saw him the kid was sitting in the corner of the cafeteria all alone with his bought lunch spread out before him, painstakingly picking out the vegetables and stacking them according to color and size.

Picking up the Pieces by SilverThunder (Fushimi Saruhiko/Yata Misaki) (complete)

I really like K. It’s a weird show, and it has copious faults. Maybe I just really like that the characters have so much potential, and this fic (as well as the one above) truly expands on that potential. This fic is an excellent exploration of these two character’s relationships, there’s just the right amount of angst. I’ve read it multiple times.

A whole year, gone from his head just like that - and how many memories could you fit in that time, anyway? It wasn’t a question Yata thought he’d ever have to ask, but with so many things changed between Saruhiko and himself, he wasn’t about to leave it alone.

It just sucked that the new world they’d built was still so easy to break.

to be first, to be best by kittebasu (chanyeol) (iwaoi) (complete)

haikyuu!! is odd for me because I don’t care about it anymore, but I really like this fic, and I’ve read it about 5 times. The characterization is on point, and the story is extremely well written.

Hajime is apparently something of a masochist, and as he stares down at the tie-dyed AREA51 T-shirt in his hands, he thinks“I’m totally in love with this asshole, aren’t I?”

Cat's Cradle by evocates (Fujioka Haruhi/Ootori Kyouya/Suoh Tamaki) (complete)

every new years eve, since 2011, my brother and I have watched Ouran High School Host Club. for the past 4 years, I have read and re-read this fic without fail in the days after

Kyouya had been able to see the red threads between people’s fingers since the day he was born. A song of fate, and the breaking of. Tamaki was a man who could never be predictable. Vague spoilers up to Chapter 63.

"Relationship Stuff" by arokitty, Ponderess (shinara) (complete)

This fic helped me realize I was asexual. It’s beautifully written.

"Relationship stuff" — that's what Yasutomo kept calling it on the occasions we discussed how things were going between us. He never failed to say it dismissively, as if it was an annoying plague he was forced to put up with. But even when I told him that he could opt out of it at any time, he did not pull back.

I really like this ship, and out of all the fics I’ve read of it, this is the one I adore the most (obviously enough to read it three times)

A Gradual Fall by grassandcitrus (originshipping) (complete)

This maybe isn’t the best written fic, but it has a lot of heart, and for a ship that there is little content for, this fic served me well. It’s hard to write a realistic pokemon AU, but this feels grounded. For whatever reason, this ship still means a lot to me, so when I get in the mood for it, I’ll re-read this fic.

Meeting Wallace turned out to be a life changing event for Steven. He realizes that pretty early on. Other things, however, come with time.

I knew nothing about this video game but for whatever reason decided to look up fanfic for it after seeing some fanart, and then because this one was so well written, I, again knowing absolutely knowing about this video game or the series it’s a part of, binged the entire 164k fic in like two days. I’ve also re-read it and convinced my brother to buy the video game as a result. He refers to them as the “leather boy band” and sends me updates about his play through lmao

Begins in high school. From Prompto's desire to befriend the sullen, bullied prince blooms a relationship even the Astrals themselves could not have foreseen. Basically fills in the gaps from Brotherhood to the fall of Insomnia. Some liberties taken.

The reason I love the new event. (I am a mess this week and so are my posts :))

The MC did not have to dress up. At first, I was confused if MC would have to wear a dress. They didn't which may be a safe position as the MC is whatever the player wants them to be.

The brothers didn't dress up. I said last post I was sad they didn't but it might have been a good thing. Considering, some players may not be comfortable with that. (The same way the Beach event different have a change as it was possibly a censorship rule.) The spell resulting in the lack of clothes change is extremely on par with Lucifer's personality. The man does not like anything that can ruin his stoic reputation (except MC).

It didn't focus on romance and separation. A lot of the events had MC with one brother at a time. They are never with a group of the brothers. Except when a brother needs to steal MC away. This event had MC motivating the brothers. I specifically like the idea that MC got to be a spectator instead of hands on.

The brothers finding out the requirements are harder than they think. A few brothers were confident going into the walking portion in heels because they've done it before. However, they found out it was far different from their usual style.

The scenes were short. I complained it was too short but that's because I rushed through the game play. (Tired me shouldn't be allowed to play). Thinking of it, I can only remember certain aspects of the event. Such as the interactions and the heel plus eating portion, along with the Queen Rose scenes.

Queen Rose deciding to end the Dame tradition. Her speech was extremely special considering she didn't like the brothers as themselves in the beginning.

Queen Rose bing surprised by MC asking to keep the dame tradition (if you chose that response). Levi makes almost a threat to MC and Mammon tries to save himself by calling it a game. Nice to see Levi gaining some dominance.

The dame techniques were gender neutral than just a feminine rule. There are many over the top examples of males dressing as females are kind of really? (Per say Ouran High School Host Club when the boys dressed as girls and were over the top). Those techniques could come in handy later. Which MC comments on so...is this going to happen again?

They weren't gender-bent. (Think that's spelled wrong). I am all for gender-bending so I'm not saying anything is wrong there. Its just I don't know how they would've portrayed them. Maybe they would've portrayed them with the same personality and are startled they ended up as girls. (Mammon and Levi especially) but like how awkward would that be? Or maybe they would've gone the whole "they're girls". Which...I don't know how that would work out.

My dear Ana-Banana! ^.^

1) After being introduced to the Victorian language of flowers by her older stepbrother Jasper (who’s into the Gothic Victorian subculture), Ana has taken to sending her BFF Robin Isherwood @cursebreakerfarrier special bouquets with secret messages for Valentine’s Day. Naturally a lot of people assume the flowers are from some anonymous secret admirer, but Robin always knows that the bouquets featuring yellow roses (meaning “friendship”), sunflowers (meaning “loyalty”), and/or pink campanula (meaning “gratitude”) are from his best friend.

2) Ana is very fond of many different kinds of books, but one of her greatest loves is Japanese manga. Her OTL is Sailor Moon, but she’s also huge into shoujo titles like Cardcaptor Sakura, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fruits Basket. Her favorite characters from each are Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon and Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter; Sakura Kinamoto and Yue; the Hitachiin twins Kaoru and Hikaru; and Yuki Sohma.

3) Despite her quiet, bookish affect, when it comes to disputes, Ana is interestingly the sort of person who prefers to “take it outside” and settle it with a good old-fashioned wizard’s duel rather than share in witty banter. This is because, even if Ana is an amazing writer, she’s not very good at public speaking or coming up with clever retorts on the fly. She’s also straight-forward and honorable enough as a person to prefer putting any problems out in the open and address them directly, rather than playing mind games.

4) On the note of wizard dueling, Ana is a formidable opponent. She learns how to do non-verbal spells before most of her classmates and is very good at using Charms and Transfiguration creatively to take out her opponents. One of her favorite tricks is levitating herself up off the ground before her opponent’s spell can land and then attacking them from above where they can’t as easily reach her.

5) Ana’s favorite band is Nightwish, a symphonic metal band from Finland which is also one of my favorite bands of all time! Ana’s favorite song of theirs is “Dead Boy’s Poem.”

6) As an INFP Gryffindor whose stepfather is a pro-Muggle-and-Squib-rights advocate, it’s unsurprising that Ana has her “activist” side too. She not only attends some of her stepfather Bradley Pinkstone’s events, but she also attends LGBT+ events as an Ally for her friends who are part of the community and protests against racial discrimination.

7) As an INFP as well, Ana is a lot more romantic than her “strong and silent” affect would first suggest. After marrying Charlie Copper @drinkyoursoupbitch, Ana takes to writing him love notes and leaving them in his lunch for him to find, as well as doing things like surprising him with a breakfast picnic on Valentine’s Day. (Hey, straight dudes could use some proper romancing too, sometimes!)

8) Ana is very self-conscious about her weight, thanks in large part to her mother Bonnie‘s subconscious weightism that prompts her to constantly “express concern” about Ana’s health and discourage her from wearing certain clothes so as to not look like (in her words) “a sack of potatoes tied in two.” This particular aspect is something I took from one of my mum’s own experiences with her mother as a girl.

9) Charlie Copper first met his at-the-time fiance Ana’s absent biological father, John Read, when Ana suggests visiting him at the military base where he worked. Ana had never gone to see her father at the base before, and she was understandably a bit perturbed when no one at the base knew who she was, claiming that John Read only had a son. Ana tried to explain this away to both herself and Charlie as them just being confused, since she knew John did have a son with his new wife -- but when she arrived at John’s office and found his new wife and son there, she was proven horribly wrong, as neither of them knew who she was either and John’s wife looked very angry upon hearing that John was still in touch with his daughter from a previous marriage. Ana, who up until that point had been in denial about how little her father really wanted to be in her life and had made excuses for years about him being busy when he only answered a fraction of her letters, just barely managed to keep herself from bursting into tears in her father’s office, forcing a broken smile onto her face until she and Charlie had finally left before completely breaking down. The event is one of the only times in Charlie’s life he felt the urge to break the Statute of Secrecy, wanting to hex John Read in the face for how much his lack of caring had hurt Ana. When Bradley Pinkstone found out what had happened from Charlie, he also wrestled with the feeling of wanting to hold Read accountable for how he’d treated Ana, but refused to act on his anger and sense of vengeance out of respect for Ana and her feelings. Bradley ended up walking Ana down the aisle in her father’s stead, a decision both Ana and Charlie never thought twice about.

10) Ana names just all of her pets after characters from books. Ana’s first familiar was a black kitten she named Luna, after the character in Sailor Moon, and as an adult, she adopted a snowy owl she named Glimfeather, after the owl character in C.S. Lewis’s The Silver Chair.

Good ML fic recs? I really trust your taste as you’re an amazing writer!!

...Oh boy...

To be honest, there isn’t nearly enough room for all the ML fics I would want to recommend because there are a great many very good ones. I guess it would depend on what you’re looking for, but for now I’ll try to note the biggest ones that come to mind for now.

Please note that these are only some of my recommendations for completed works.

Oleanders and Belladonnas by Cynial Wonderland - There is an akuma running around targeting young women and putting them into comas and Ladybug and Chat Noir are on the case. But things get worse when Marinette becomes the next target. The intrigue is great and the characterization is spot on. It hits upon some of the issues of the characters which can often be overlooked in many stories, and notes how those issues are utilized by the villain to enact his plans. It’s the sort of level of manipulation and hard-hitting emotional impact I would have expected from Chameleon.

A Familiar Story series by Freedom Shamrock - A magic AU where Marinette is a witch who is looking for a cat to be her familiar. She is found by a black cat who seems intent on having the job. Plot twist: the black cat isn’t just a cat. It’s wholesome content and I adore how much love there seems to be and consideration the characters have.

Prince Charming by MiniMinou - A fantasy AU where Adrien is a prince “blessed” to be charming—and it’s not a good thing. Anyone who sees him falls under his spell and he hates it. Normally with this sort of story, there would be one girl in all the kingdom not affected who would become his true love. That doesn’t happen here and the story is all the more beautiful and tragic for it.

Operation secret garden - secret weapon by Krispo - Kim does not get enough appreciation and this story proves it. Adrinette happens and it’s thanks to the last guy that any of the girls would have thought.

A Teacher Does Her Job by Music_Feeds_My_Soul - In which Bustier is a good teacher and steps in before things get out of hand in Chameleon.

You Can Say No by PsychoBabble192 - Another Chameleon-based fic, but addressing a very different point than most others and an issue that has long been overlooked. Namely the tendency of certain persons to infringe on Adrien’s personal boundaries and Adrien’s struggle to voice his discomfort on the matter.

Welcome to the WC by Omeganian - In which an identity reveal happens in the restroom and Adrien and Marinette are forced to hide in a bathroom stall together to avoid getting caught. It doesn’t help that Chloe and Lila start up an argument over which of them Adrien is in love with and Adrien didn’t keep trying to kiss Marinette.

Nine Lives by P_Artsypants - Can I just say ouch? In an attempt to keep his dad from forcing him to leave Paris, Adrien goes to some…rather lengthy extremes. There are consequences.

It Started as a Joke by TheNovelArtist - to make Alya happy for her birthday, Chat Noir proposes to Ladybug. Now Paris wants to throw them an official wedding.

Double Sided, Double Blinded by mckinlily - In which Marinette discovers that Adrien is Chat Noir and Adrien discovers that Ladybug is Marinette. Both have difficulty coming to grips with this. Marinette tries to deal with this through puns and flirting. Adrien just tries to deal.

Sting by KryallaOrchid - A bit of a kwami swap involving Adrien getting the Bee after he somehow loses his Miraculous. It’s unique and expands quite a bit on Pollen, Gabriel, and Adrien’s mother.

Obsessions by KryallaOrchid - The Miraculous come with side effects. For Ladybug, it’s a struggle with cold and winter. For Adrien, it’s a need for pats and physical affection. Luckily, Marinette helps out with that.

Yesterday was plain awful by zipadeea - An akuma attack goes horribly wrong and nobody knows if Ladybug survived. It’s a lot of focus on the aftermath, for Marinette, Adrien, and everyone.

When May Comes by Blikdelie - A Marichat May but with Felix. He tries to lay claim to Marinette’s balcony. Marinette has a few things to say about that.

Talk This Through by Blikdelie - Ladrien happens but goes wrong. Chat Noir confronts Ladybug to find out why she dumped his civilian self and was not expecting the answer he got.

I will follow you by Blikdelie - Ladybug is the lone hero of Paris, trying to get by in akuma attacks on her own while waiting for her partner to appear. Then some blond kid finds out her identity by accident and won’t leave her alone.

Miraculous on Ice by moonbabyscoot - Marinette can ice skate! And apparently has a less than fully positive history on the rink. Adrien decides after an akuma attack where he was next to useless that he needs lessons. Good thing he happens to get the perfect partner.

If At First You Don’t Succeed by Leisey - The class as a whole has had enough. Adrien and Marinette are clearly in love but won’t admit it for some reason, so the group decides to step in to push the matter.

Benefactor/Top Cat by Otoshigo - Adrien wants to help Marinette but knows she won’t let him. But she can’t refuse random gifts from Chat Noir. It starts getting out of hand.

What’s Black and Red and Red All Over? by Otoshigo - Deadpool comes to Paris. Enough said.

Snitches Get Stitches by Otoshigo - Marinette finds out Adrien is Chat Noir and if anything, it actually lessens her view of Adrien. Adrien is convinced Marinette is Ladybug but can’t confirm it. Plagg has had enough but Tikki is no help and won’t let him reveal the truth. That’s okay. Plagg’s had hundreds of years to know how to get a girl to fall for a guy so she can do it for him.

Unfinished Business/The Love Itch by Otoshigo - Adrien gains an obsession and is desperate to get someone to say three words to Marinette. He remains oblivious to his own feelings, things get out of hand, and Marinette has a hard time dealing.

A Host in Paris by Otoshigo - Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club comes to Paris. Enough said.

All That Jazz by midnightstarlightwrites - An akuma attack goes wrong and sends Ladybug back in time to 1920’s New York while switching her with the Ladybug of that time. An interesting take on the previous Ladybug and Black Cat holders as well as time travel complications.

Scarlet Lady AU by zoe-onesama - An AU where Chloe stole the Ladybug earrings from Marinette that first day and becomes Scarlet Lady, the heroine of Paris! A nice bit of catharsis after the train wreck of a “redemption arc” in the series.

Anything by iamthepunchlord. Flat out anything. But in particular…

Manynette - Akumatized Marinette where she is so exhausted and overwhelmed that as an akuma, she’s split into multiple versions of herself. People have difficulty dealing.

Loyal Chevalier - This actually predicted a couple of things—that Hawk Moth can akumatize two beings at once, that he can akumatize an object as well as a perosn, and what ended up happening in Chameleon to an extent with the return of Lila and sabotaging Marinette. Marinette gets akumatized, but she’s not alone. She has a loyal companion who promises to protect her no matter what.

Lucky Fox Paradox - Marinette successfully gave up the earrings to Alya and considered herself done with Miraculous, but the Miraculous aren’t done with her.

a little problem - Kwami curse AU, where there’s a curse that comes with misusing a Miraculous and Gabriel is on the receiving end.

Rise of Mariposa - Kwami swap where the Ladybug is the Miraculous being used for evil while Marinette finds an abandoned Butterfly Miraculous.

Just Our Luck - A superhero AU. Marinette has good luck that helps others at the cost of herself. Adrien has bad luck that hurts the people around him and leaves him pretty much slated for a future of villainy. Good thing luck works in mysterious ways.

A Declaration of Love - Kwami swap where Marinette got the Peacock and Adrien got the Fox. This was before the reveal of the Peacock being damaged.

Echoing Balance - Kwami swap with Cat!Marinette and Ladybug!Adrien.

Curiosity and Satisfaction - Enemies AU where Marinette must fight alone against Hawk Moth and Chat Noir. It’s primarily from Adrien’s perspective showing his take on trying to fight Ladybug to bring back his mother and just dealing with issues, as well as his growing interest in a certain baker girl.

Trouble In White - Akumatized Adrien is Chat Blanc. And apparently Marinette’s soulmate.

My Top 10 Shoujo/Josei Ships

Let’s address the elephant in the room. Yes, they are problematic which is why they rank last. No doubt. But like, they’re ten and children make mistakes. Especially children who are as unfortunate as Natsume. Natsume himself is probably the most offensive one in this list. But I just...really have a soft spot for brooding bad boys who secretly want to be saved by the cheerful nice girl and that’s not going to go away ANY time soon. I grew really fond of these two as the series went on. I just did.

Man, these two used to be a lot higher when I was younger (like the same age as them lol) KKJ was the first true cosplay I ever did! So...um, not so much in the anime (although he’s not totally innocent but he is better). Chiaki has...issues. Lol. To say he’s insecure...is probably an understatement. But when you look at his upbringing, it’s really no surprise. Maron is the only person he truly seems to care about so he’s going to cling and be needy. But she knows how to handle him. She’s always in control (not in a bad way) but in a way that’s good for both of them. I love how mature she is. He will learn from her....if he hasn’t already. Okay, they’re married with a baby so I would think adult!Chiaki has gotten over what made the teenage ship problematic. Besides, they totally have God’s approval; what more do you need? XD

MeimixAsuka is the absolute classic “love-hate/ slap slap kiss” ship DONE RIGHT. Which is great because so many are done very very wrong (and I can think of quite a few in, ironically non-Japanese media...aimed at children...that can honest to God, be interpreted as downright abusive. *coughiCarlycough*

But not these two. They are so f*cking innocent. Delightfully innocent. Like, their most offensive action is to call each other “idiot”. But God forbid anybody ELSE do that...oh no, if you dare bad-mouth one in front of the other, he/she gets so mad. And that’s like the cutest shit ever.

OH HEY. IT’S THE ONE BL SHIP I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT!! Um...well, these two are great. I thought they were great in college when I went through my fujoshi stage (ugh) BUT I STILL think they’re great NOW. This is the anime version of The Odd Couple. With more gay. xD These two are sweet as chocolate. Their interaction is just precious. What’s more important? THEY’RE ACTUALLY GOOD FOR EACH OTHER. No rape. No forcing feels on each other, great chemistry, comforting comforters; all the reasons you’d ship a regular boyxgirl pairing. This one just happens to be two boys. AND I STILL DON’T KNOW IF THIS EVER TURNED CANON AFJLFJLFJDLJF

This is one of those very few Childhood Friend Ships I’m all for. It’s kind of crazy that they were able to rank this high when I haven’t even finished their story yet. BUT I LOVE THEM. I was going to pick a ship and say “Imagine _____, except they’re little kids.” But actually, I’m having a hard time comparing them to another ship I can think of. So...they’re KINDA ‘Slap Slap Kiss’-ish but Seiya does not hide his feelings. AT ALL. He’s pretty out-spoken about it. And all he wants to do is sweep her off her feet...but it’s basically the other way around xD As for Ririka...going by Shoujo Logic, her crush on (wow he’s so boring I can’t even remember his stupid name LOL) is superficial and she subconsciously has deeper feelings for Seiya that she’s unaware of...but damn, she sure gets fired up when he’s hurt in front of her! So that gives me hope.

This is just a given. It’s HIGHLY unlikely you would find another “Best Shoujo Pairing” list WITHOUT them. So he’s already there but HURRY UP AND REALIZE YOU LOVE HIM, AHIRU. Lol dammit. The only hint we get from her is “Fakir always makes me stronger” and that SINGLE LINE is deeper than ANY thought she ever had about Mytho. Hell, I’m pretty sure Ikuko herself ships them hard. Their entire relationship is so beautifully crafted...just like the rest of the series except maybe for Ahiru’s crush on Mytho which just had me going “LOLWHY” the entire time.

“SLAP SLAP KISS” LITERALLY. All they do is fight...and then kiss. xD They’re always saving each other, supporting each other, underneath all those insults, then they get married and have two cute kids. Some people think Kazune’s too hard on her...but it’s “tough love”. He has to be because that’s what motivates her. Every single thing Kazune does in the series is strictly for her sake. Their main problem is miscommunication...but I think that goes away quickly so who cares?

Yes, yes, I know. We have two major problems here: The first is initial sexual harassment. Obviously.

But here’s the second problem:

IT’S JUST TOO DAMN FCKING HOT.

Tooyama Ema knew how to turn up the sexual tension to ELEVEN with these two. Good lord, did she ever. This is by far the sexiest manga I’ve ever read!! Whoever coined the phrase “DOKI-DOKI MOTHERFUCKER” surely had to be reading about Yukina making Shigure do things and Shigure making Yukina do things. While the ship (born from blackmail) should strictly fall into ‘Guilty Pleasure Smut’ category, it only teeters on the edge. For me, at least. Why? Because the character development is actually really damn good. Shigure goes from Cold, Uncaring Magnificent Bastard to Excellent Tsundere Boyfriend Material quite steadily and beautifully. He’s also the only character in the series who can handle Yukina’s personality flaws. Basically, “he’s good for her” while the others are...um, terrible. xD

HEY. IT’S “ANIME TWILIGHT EXCEPT IT DOESN’T SUCK” SHIP.

It’s an ancient story. ‘Vampires make sexy boyfriends’. I believe this has been going on for a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally long time. Like.....since the 30s, maybe? When did Anne Rice start writing? IDK ANYWAY IT’S A THING. Cutesy human girl wants vampire. The vampire is broody, dark, emo. “I’m dangerous. Stay away from me. You’ll only get hurt”. But they still turn into an off-again, on-again thing because he can’t make up his f*cking mind on whether to protect her at his side or “protect by neglect”. We’ve all heard it before.

EXCEPT THAT IS NOT THIS STORY.

So...where to start. First of all, Riho loved him way before she even knew what he was. When she finds out, she still loves him. And he does do the “You’re better off not being with me because danger”. But he doesn’t say this to be edgy or to manipulate her; he says it because what he does is actually dangerous enough for her to get killed and he doesn’t want that. But she doesn’t give a damn. And he treats her like a princess. And she finds out how lonely he is and vows to always stay at his side and he respects her f*cking decisions and they go on cute dates and always comfort each other and just afjalfjalfjaijfIWEJFILOVETHISSHIPSOMUCH.

They’re both oddly similar...and yet different as night and day seewhatIdidtharwiththepics. I think “sacrifice” and “salvation” is what I respond most to when I think about ever-lasting true love. And everything about these four characters’ development is centered around these two things.

Ouran High School Host Club AU

So, since I apparently matched the sides to host club members in an unusual way, I decided to give a more in-depth explanation. Which of course means I went way overboard and it got so long I’m debating whether or not I should put it under the cut. Anyways, have some rambling character analysis. Also, SPOILERS. SPOILERS EVERYWHERE. FOR THE OURAN MANGA AND ANIME, AND FOR THE SANDERS SIDES. You have been warned.

I’m gonna tag @not-so-innocent-bi-sander because I can’t stop bugging her, apparently.

Patton: While Roman would normally be the obvious choice for Tamaki, I went with Patton, because pairing Roman and Tamaki feels like taking them at face value and personally I don't think it does their characters justice. Patton seems much more fitting for Tamaki. One of the things made apparent about Tamaki throughout the anime and the manga is his inherent goodness. Yes, he can be dramatic and annoying at times and often doesn't think things through, but he has a heart of gold and it shows. Everybody loves Tamaki. He brought the host club together. All those people who were hurting and broken that normally would never have given each other the time of day, they were all brought together by one thing: Tamaki and their love for him. Tamaki is giving and kind despite his stubbornness and drama. I think he has a lot of similarities to Patton. Patton is the dad who loves all his children (the other sides and Thomas) unconditionally. At the same time, he isn't afraid to call them out when they need it. He's silly and fun and everyone loves him, even if they underestimate his intelligence at times. An obvious parallel is that Patton is the dad character, while Tamaki insisted throughout the series that the host club was a family. Slightly more serious, Tamaki and Patton will both push people away and lie about how they're doing because they don't want anyone to worry or be a burden. This is more apparent in the host club manga than the anime, but it's still there. There's also Kyoya. Tamaki wasn't afraid of Kyoya, he didn't back off when Kyoya tried to push him away. He forced his way in and was quick to call him out on his bullshit. The two became best friends and had such a beautiful, unique relationship. Patton and Virgil were pretty much the same way. Patton wouldn't take no for an answer, he was the only one willing to see Virgil as he truly was. He refused to let Virgil talk bad about himself. And when Virge left, Patton was the first one to notice. Basically, Patton and Tamaki have the most similarities in my opinion. They have a lot of love to give, they bring people together, they're silly and fun and dramatic (Patton can be dramatic, too. It's not just Roman). To me, they seem like an obvious match.

Virgil: If Patton is Tamaki, then who could Virgil be except for Kyoya? They're best friends no matter how irritated Kyoya (aka Virgil) pretends to be. And there are notably comparable things about Virge and Kyo. Kyoya spent his whole life trying to meet impossible goals, friendless, pushing people away, constantly being told he wasn't good enough by the people who were supposed to care about him. Sound familiar? Virgil went through the same thing for a long time (see: everything leading up to Accepting Anxiety parts 1 and 2). And then Patton came into his life the way Tamaki came to Kyoya. Tamaki was like Kyoya's savior. He showed him that his family was wrong, that he was enough, that he could be his own person and it was okay. And Kyoya loves him so much. For proof, go back to the episode "And so Kyoya Met Him," in which Haruhi asks how on earth Kyoya and Tamaki are friends and Kyoya then proceeds to monologue for a good 20 minutes about how the two met after staring at Tamaki and smiling for a solid 15 seconds (Moxiety shippers, have some fuel). Patton was the only one who was never scared of Virgil, who accepted him from the start, who wasn't about to let anyone hurt his dark strange son, even Virgil himself. Patton loved him all along even when the others didn't. And now the two are best friends, and you can bet that Virgil will do anything to protect his dad. Somehow, despite all their differences, the two just work. They fit perfectly. Tamaki and Kyoya. Patton and Virgil. It works.

Roman: Oh, Roman. What to do with you? He's a total drama queen who needs constant attention, sometimes isn't very nice, butts heads with the others, but still tries his best. Hikaru. Hikaru, Tamaki's rival, Kaoru's beloved twin, hot headed, impulsive, a bit rude at times, but genuinely cares about his friends. Neither of them exactly have the best track record. They've (unintentionally) hurt the people they care about, but they feel bad and want to fix the situation. They're the characters with the most room for growth in my opinion, and they're trying, gosh darn it. Sure, they make mistakes. Sure, they can be ridiculously impulsive. Sure, they speak without thinking a lot of the time. But they try so hard. Hikaru and Arai or Tamaki or even Haruhi. Roman and Virgil or Logan. They messed up. They hurt people. And they're trying to make it right. Haruhi actually slaps Hikaru at one point when he goes too far. The sides and Thomas can't touch each other, but Thomas has given Roman the verbal equivalent (Accepting Anxiety part 2). Overall assessment of characters: sometimes problematic but doing their best. Very good boys. Hikaru is loved by his family, especially his brother. And by Tamaki. Patton as a side loves Roman, and Patton as Tamaki loves Roman as Hikaru. At one point in the manga Hikaru got sick and fainted while on a class trip, and when Tamaki found out, he freaked out and instantly went to see him and make sure he was okay despite being all the way in Tokyo. That is definitely something Patton would do. But Hikaru and Kaoru have a special bond, which leads into our next person, Thomas.

Thomas: Thomas would definitely be Kaoru. He can be somewhat naive at times, but often he's level-headed when the others, especially his brother, aren't. He has a special relationship with Hikaru. Kaoru loves him so much, but also isn't afraid to call him out when necessary, much like Thomas with Roman. A lot of the time the sides (besides Patton) can be a bit rude to Roman, but Thomas is generally really accepting and quick to show Ro how much he cares. Much like Hikaru and Kaoru, their relationship is cute and sweet and it just works really well. Similar to how Thomas is at the center of the sides, Kaoru doesn't really have an extreme to match anyone else. He's just happy to be there with the people he cares about. That sounds like Thomas to me.

Haruhi: This one took some debating, but I finally decided that Logan would be Haruhi. They're both very smart, but they're not really good at the whole "social interactions" thing. Haruhi cares for her friends, but is also quick to get frustrated with them and doesn't really understand how people work. Like, she's compassionate, but she's also blunt and often oblivious. She seems to have a hard time reading the mood. Before the host club, she spent a lot of her time alone just studying because she didn't see the point in other things. The club helps her with that the same way the sides help Logan. Both of them struggle with seeing things from a different perspective. They'll write things off that they don't see the value in. But they try, they want to learn and improve, and their friends are happy to help them with that.

Hunny: Deceit would be Hunny. I'll be honest, I don't really have as much solid reasoning for this one. Hunny seems cute and sweet and innocent on the surface, but he's actually incredibly smart and powerful. That boy knows exactly how to manipulate people into giving him what he wants. So yeah. Deceit.

Mori: Jamal. There's really no reasoning behind this one. I ran out of sides and I greatly appreciate Jamal. He's cool. That's it. (Side note, I’m really, really sorry if I spelled his name wrong. I couldn’t remember. If it’s wrong and someone knows how to spell it right, please tell me.)

Renge: Joan. Because it would be really funny. That’s all.

Summary: Bones curve outwards, knees shaking as he walks and his knuckles white as he holds the box. However, he'll still refuse help. He still won't admit weakness. It's only a matter of time before he falls, figuratively and literally.

Hani frowned as he watched Kyo-chan collecting up the tea sets from the day’s activities, struggling with the box he used to pick up with ease. He couldn't see Kyo-chan's arms underneath the bulky wool, but he could see the tendons in his hands bulging against the boy's skin, and the pinched expression on his pale, gaunt face. Kyo-chan was never the most athletic person by nature, but it seemed all of his strength and stamina had just melted away with the weight he shed.

Hani acted young, but he wasn't actually an idiot. He knew he could act selfishly, how he could hurt the people he cared about. They all remembered Takeshi pushing him until he threw him, needing that physical confirmation of "I've done wrong" and dispelling it with pain. It wasn't the last time, either; they all remember the cast the boy wore when he got so frustrated, so guilty, and he couldn't get Hani to hurt him. He'd slammed his hand in the door so, so hard. He cracked his bones and did it with an almost satisfied expression behind the tears and gritted teeth.

Despite appearances, and actions, Hani did care for people.

He supposed Kyo-chan was similar to his cousin, making a crutch out of something painful and convincing himself that he didn't need anything else. There was nothing wrong with a coping mechanism. It was all okay because, deep down, people who hurt themselves think they deserve it.

Or, that's what Hani thought. He didn't talk to Takeshi about his self-harm, and he wouldn't talk to Kyo-chan about "forgotten" lunches and his constant nausea. Despite his childishness, he was painfully observant; but he wouldn't intervene. He couldn't step up for Takeshi, only plugging leaks whenever they appeared, and so he couldn't talk to Kyo-chan.

Besides, they weren't close enough for that. Kyo-chan didn't hang around him - and that was okay! It just wasn't his place. He knew he could only sit back and watch, waiting for someone else to say something. But no one did.

Kao-chan was so close to Kyo-chan. They'd sit together, toned thighs brushing bone-thin ones, and they'd smile and laugh. They'd pause, eyes flicking down to lips, and they'd almost brush them together before the real world came back into focus and they'd put the distance back between their faces once more. The girls would scream and coo, the will-they-won't-they a source of high tension for everyone, and Kyoya would have another mug of coffee or tea and continue his paperwork.

Still, when Kyo-chan wasn't looking, Kao-chan always looked as if he was ready to run over and catch the boy if he fell. Quite literally. Although Kyo-chan tried to hide it, he got dizzy spells fairly frequently, but that wasn't surprising. You can't be that thin and be healthy, after all.

Tama-chan just seemed to watch from the side-lines with a sad acceptance of this. He knew that he couldn't magically fix Kyo-chan, despite having tried in the past. But he'd learned. Kyoya was happy, but then something cracked, and his weight got lower and lower. Hani, despite being observant, couldn't say why. He didn't know why anyone would do what he did and didn't want to know. It was some balance of care and selfishness. He didn't want to know what went through Kyo-chan's head with every pound he lost, with every bone that emerged from his skin.

Kyo-chan had never expressed an interest in archaeology, but Hani bitterly thought that he'd be an expert. After all, he was so good at uncovering bones, it'd be child's play for him.

He shook his head, shook the thought away, gaze lingering on Kyo-chan's shaking knees and the disgustingly prominent thigh gap. The jumper made him look almost normal, despite how his thin waist was drowned by the wool, but the exposed skin of his legs just showed off his condition. It made Hani feel… a little sick, to see a body so thin it was almost collapsing in on itself.

He hopped off his chair, trotting over to Kyo-chan and clasping his hands behind his back, looking up at his kohai with that coveted adorable expression of his. It had to be phrased like he was doing something nice. If that didn't work, he'd angle it as if he were trying to get more cake by helping, rather than just wanting Kyo-chan to sit down and rest. He didn't want him to hurt himself more than he already was.

"I'll take it, Kyo-chan!" He pipped, the other boy wincing at the words.

"Thank you senpai, but I can manage," Kyo-chan assured, continuing to take unsteady steps towards the messy back room, "I've done this a million times before."

He had, but each time became more and more unsteady. His legs almost seemed to bow, curving outwards, but it might just be some sort of optical illusion. He hoped so, at least. Still, the way that Kyo-chan's smile barely seemed to fit his thin face was all too distracting, he couldn't help it. Kyo-chan had always had soft features and slightly chubby cheeks for as long as he'd known him, so the contrast was stark.

"Yeah, Kyo-chan, but Takeshi promised I could have more cake if I helped!” He tried once again, batting his eyelashes and putting on his most adorable puppy dog eyes. He wasn’t sure how much more he could do, honestly; it wasn’t something you automatically know how to handle, after all, “Please?”

Kyoya just declined once more, taking the box to the back room with shaking arms and bowed knees, chapped lip between his teeth as he tried to pretend that he wasn’t over-exerting himself. Hani just watched sadly, trying to decide what course of action to take, when he realised that the decision wasn’t like a fork in the road, but a clearing with no visible path. He’d have to make a completely baseless decision, and he didn’t even have a compass to check the way – let alone a map.

He wished there was one, though. Someone can only go so long on just green tea and coffee, and he didn’t want to see Kyo-chan crumble in on himself. Not now, not ever. The guilt of staying silent would swallow him whole.

A/N:I am never, ever doing Hani's POV again. I'm sorry guys, I just don't like the little brat, and I was focusing too much on making him decent to enjoy writing this one.

Still, I think it turned out alright, and I put something that no one ever seems to talk about, in regards to Mori. Considering the poor boy self harms on-screen (by-proxy, but the feelings are there), it's never talked about like that, which I actually think is a shame. I'll probably write something with our strong, silent type soon, but we'll see ;)

An ask turned into an essay/presentation and I’m hoping MBTI blogs don’t block me for this here’s EXID’s possible MBTI types!

Before anyone who actually knows about MBTI types more in depth jumps on me for how poorly done this is, I’d like to request you do better. That sounds hella sarcastic but like legit I’m curious about what someone else would think about this especially someone who knows a lot bit more so like actually correct me on something or give your opinion like fr I’d enjoy it. I don’t word things well, I don’t say things well. But like?? power through? you can figure it out it’s not a puzzle it’s just poorly written so play English teacher and work through it.

Solji- ESTJ

The first thing that we (we being @lencoexid and I thank you for helping me/co writing this basically) decided was that Solji has a higher Te (look at me picking up the lingo?). The girl was voted the scariest member just because she’s very about her business I guess you could say? That’s not the best way to put it but anyway, she comes off as “scary” because she’s very quick to remind the girls that she’s not only the leader but also the oldest and she knows best, not because she’s actually being mean or anything but just because she wants to help and keep them doing what they’re supposed to be doing. But also Jeonghwa helps. She’s later. Anyway.

One website says

“Dominant Te types may come across as bossy or know-it-all-ish, even when they genuinely mean well.“

and another says:

“Te involves the outward expression of rational judgments and opinions; TJs literally think (i.e., make judgments, conclusions, and decisions) aloud. Te is more fact-oriented than Ti is. Solji is very sweet of course we love her whatever but she also comes across as bossy sometimes and as lenco pointed out, even Heeyeon said she also likes to do things her own way. She made Jeonghwa mad in that infamous Showtime fight because she kept teasing Jeonghwa about how slow she was washing the food and telling her to do it faster. She, like the true mom of EXID that she is, took the knife from her and showed her how to cut the food faster, too. Like literally just showed her “you can cut two at a time, see?” and Jjong was just like -_-. To Solji, this wasn’t being bossy or anything, she just had a better way to do it that was more efficient and she wanted to show her younger friend who was wasting time, but Jeonghwa was young and sensitive so she got angry lmao

Then we had to decide if she was more of a secondary Si user or Ni and Si seems to fit better.

“SJs do not venture out seeking novel sensations, experiences, or material goods. Instead, they prefer a more routinized and predictable lifestyle, functioning more as “homebodies.” ISJs may also fail to notice external details to the degree exhibited among ESPs. Solji also has moments where she goes on about things and she gets very excited when thinking about possibilities of what she could be doing, even when it’s small and just a game EXID are playing, she really seems to enjoy banter and clever thinking like an Ne might?

“When orating, NPs may not always seem to “have a point” as they haphazardly move from one idea to the next. Ne is more divergent and expansive in nature than its introverted cousin, Ni. NPs feel compelled to outwardly explore all the options and possibilities, making it difficult for them to draw firm conclusions or make confident decisions.”

In romantic relationships, Solji says she actually prefers someone who will lead her and someone who’s cold on the outside and warm on the inside. If that means anything to you mbti smart people.

"I like the manly types. Rather than a man who affectionately takes care of me well, I like the type who will lead me."

"You must like the 'tsundere (cold on the outside, soft on the inside)' types. A blood type-B man (stereotyped to be coarse and bad-tempered)." Solji said that was correct.

LE - ISFP

This woman... her and Solji. Elly is almost definitely an IXXP to me because idk just her general self. She’s very “free” ig, she doesn’t like schedules, she likes to do whatever more on a whim but less so than Hyelin I think. But she has said specifically that she doesn’t like to go by schedules and prefers to be more in the moment.

She has multiple interests but she only goes into them a little bit? The members said (on NCT night night I believe there is a thing in my drafts anyway also it was technically 2 votes for Elly and 2 votes for Heeyeon actually) that she knows a lot and it’s almost weird that she knows the things she knows and Jeonghwa explained that Elly knows about a lot but she knows things in the way that she “knows a little about everything” so like she’s smart in the way that she has a broad range of general/fundamental knowledge on random things. Jeonghwa also said she’s the type that keeps up with trends like in fashion and also just regular trends like slang and other internet things. She’s into fashion. She isn’t the most empathetic member but she did once say that when she isn’t writing songs about her own experience she’s writing about others so that might be something? She’s very blunt and she thinks it’s easier and better to just be open about what you’re thinking and feeling so time isn’t wasted.

“I hate complicated things. That's such a waste of time."When asked what kind of love she wants to try, LE said, "A both placid and raging love," then added to everyone's amusement, "I like skinship,"

then she also said:

“It’s been a long time since I’ve had a boyfriend so I can’t remember, but I don’t get nervous around guys that I like. I like to play hard to get and make them chase me instead. That makes me feel a sense of achievement.”

I think she’s more Se than Si because she definitely seems to be more of an outward sensations type of person, with trends and fashion yeah but also she said she likes skinship and she’s pretty physical even if she’s not athletic. Like she doesn’t like working out but she likes the idea of extreme sports (note the “idea of” part lmao thank you @lencoexid) she likes video games, she likes to think about the way things physically feel like she’s a very Se person to me.

I was having a hard time figuring out if she was more Fi or Ti but we do really think that she’s more Fi after thinking about how she is towards her friends and her relationships more. Ti would be too logical in her judgements of things and she seems more like a feeler when it comes to things around her. SO I’m going with ISFP.

Hani - INTJ

idc what anyone says (I say that now but like it’s so easy to change my mind you could literally just be like “well what if Hani is this because of this” and I’ll be like shoot you’re right) but anyway I could see Heeyeon being a dominant Ni user and also she’s not an extrovert like Heeyeon would be the last member I’d believe is an extrovert I’m serious e to i in EXID goes Jeonghwa/Solji/Hyelin>LE>Hani don’t argue with me. Or do idc but like I’m not wrong on Jeonghwa and Heeyeon. (like I once saw someone call Ahn Heeyeon an ENFP? nahh) but also idk

I think she shows more of a Te then Fi than the opposite (Fe then Ti) so I’m going with INTJ I think.

Anyway, Heeyeon is super logical and detailed. Think about what made EXID so famous in the first place, Heeyeon literally taking actual written notes of what exact angles make her look best while performing. Her selfies are really popular (because she’s gorgeous?duh) and when she talks about her selfies she says they’re great because she took note of how she looks prettiest when her head is tilted at a 45 degree angle. Who measures that? Who? Nerds. That’s who. Hot nerds. Nerds trying to make sure their popularity stays up and they have no weaknesses. Scary hot nerds.

She takes notes in her notebook (which they all call her death note) of like everything she possibly can? Her calories, her workouts, any new findings in her selfie angles, and when people make her angry. She literally writes down the date and what they did and everything. She’s like the scary anime kid that comes out of the shadows and pushes their glasses up and says something weird then writes in their notebook. Kyoya Ootori she’s Kyoya from Ouran High School Host Club. My husband and my wife I have a type.

But then here’s the thing, she also really feels the need to have people like her? Like she used to diet and gain and lose weight (she’s not anymore thank God) and she got in trouble and was criticized by netizens for “just saying what she thinks will make people happy in that moment” which is honestly pretty true but I think it might’ve only really been true for that time. That was back when she had just gotten popular and she was still getting used to it and she was on so many shows right after doing nothing but eating ramen all day basically so I honestly think she could’ve just been worried about EXID’s fame and her image and everything because lately especially now she’s more like she was back when they were promoting Every Night like she’s very openly braggy and less anxious so I think it could’ve just been a stress and anxiety thing? Because now especially with the other girls she seems much more open about the other sides to her personality so I still think she could be an Fi not an Fe.

She also said when talking about what she’s like in love and all:

“I would say I’m a stronger type. I have charisma. I hear that a lot actually haha.”

She also seems more Se than Si but I can’t place exactly why. @fizzybubblespop also said that they’d say she was an INFJ but she seems so “present” that having Se as her last function doesn’t seem right.

I kinda agree but I also think it makes sense since she is a bit wired and outward and everything but she’s much more of a person who needs to sit and think about things a bit, spacing out sometimes and stuff. I could see Se over Si for sure but like lower than things like Ni and Te to me.

Hyelin - ESTP or ESXP

Hyelini hea lini hey lini hey jenny idk umm I think she has a higher F something and she’s a perceiver but I’m not sure on much else. She’s probably an extrovert to me but I also could possibly see her as a social introvert? She said on Showtime that after spending a lot of time with people she needs to spend time alone to relax for a few hours. But @lencoexid did point out that it’s more likely that it’s her attention shifting and her getting bored or tired of that situation and wanting something else.

I had never even thought of Hyelin as an ESFP before until lencoexid brought it up and I was like hmm? and when you think about it it could actually work well.

So, ESFP starts with Se, the extroverted sensing function. On this website they explained Se like this:

“Extroverted sensing is focused on taking in the world as it exists in the present moment. It is highly in tune with the sights, smells, sounds and general physical stimulus that surrounds it. Extroverted sensing lives and thrives in the moment, more so than any other function.”

Hyelin is someone who is a regular at bars and actually said she drinks for the feeling of being drunk. She said she doesn’t see the point of drinking if you’re not going to get drunk. She also traveled all the way to Jeonju randomly just to go to a specific restaurant there that she likes.

The problem here though comes when you get to the 2nd function which is Fi. To me, she seems more Fe. She had a secret job when EXID was broke, she was actually kinda uncomfortable when Solji and Jeonghwa had that argument in Showtime and she tried to make jokes about it and diffuse the situation it seemed.

She said when she’s in a relationship:

“I am really the submissive type, when I am in the wrong I bow down to my boyfriend and apologize right away, (hehe) but when I know that he is lying then I become more of a strong unni style.”

And so she seems pretty Fe when I think about it compared to Fi, she seems more about group harmony than her own inner feelings even if she is blunt and everything, at the end of the day she has many friends who all are very different (Shinsadong Tiger said in an interview once that Hyelin is friends with everyone and is even friends with a politician), she works to keep her friendships with people from her childhood and she doesn’t like when things mess with that. Remember when she just grabbed a mic and said “Minhyuk and I aren’t dating” because she wanted to end rumors before they got big? She’s very blunt and “crazy” and wild and she’s very into being the humorous one of the group that makes everyone laugh but she’s also very open and straight-forward when she doesn’t like something or when something is messing with the dynamic, you know?

Now, ESTP has Se>Ti>Fe>Ni and lencoexid and I both agree that between the two, Hyelin seems more Ti than Te (Te is more Solji’s thing lbr).

Jeonghwa - ISFJ or XSFJ

I think she has high Fe and probably dominant Fe because the girls are always saying she’s so empathetic and she’s so good at relating to people’s feelings, etc. Heeyeon said she was jealous of how empathetic Jeonghwa is, when Heeyeon was trying to explain herself Jeonghwa jumped in and helped her out (I can’t remember what it was but it was on a radio show and she kinda explained for Heeyeon), she’s very open about how she feels about things and what she thinks of things (all of EXID are pretty blunt but especially Hyelin>LE>Jeonghwa), she’s also the one that takes charge even though she’s the youngest to try to keep things under control just a little but she’s still kinda sensitive? She also likes planning things and sticking to a schedule as she said on NCT night night, her and Heeyeon like sticking to plans and Elly and and Hyelin like to go with the flow. And with ISFJ and ESFJ Si is high (1st or 2nd) and this website says this about higher Si users:

“SJs do not venture out seeking novel sensations, experiences, or material goods. Instead, they prefer a more routinized and predictable lifestyle, functioning more as “homebodies.””

Then it says this about high Fe users:

“FJs, especially EFJs, are quick to outwardly express their feelings, opinions, and grievances. Fe plays a prominent role in attuning to and empathizing with others’ emotions. It allows FJs to recreate another’s emotion state within themselves, allowing them to literally feel what the other person is feeling. FJs also work to meet others’ needs and to maintain harmony in the external environment. They ensure that everyone is getting along and is well cared for. At the same time, since Fe is an Extraverted Judging function, there are times when FJs are compelled to sacrifice external harmony for the sake of asserting their judgments. She’s the most social and empathetic but she also prefers staying at her house and reading and her favorite author is Alain de Botton (which I think she said on Weekly Idol?) and that guy is a philosopher.

“de Botton deals with the process of falling in and out of love. De Botton wrote a sequel to Essays in Love, published in 2016, titled The Course of Love.”

A good portion of the book discusses how human personality traits are reflected in architecture.

So this girl loves people, is social, also prefers to stay in and read (philosophy), is empathetic, blunt, likes schedules, mischievous, studies English and Chinese just cause she wants to improve in those things (she’s also an idol so there is a bit of a responsibility to do that but she doesn’t have to), etc. Like. Someone who knows MBTI well come type her instead cause idk. To me she’s either ISFJ or ESFJ and she seems more extroverted to me it just seems like she’s got a higher Fe than Si and so on than the other way around, but I think that’s more up to just how you perceive her I mean she is an idol and I forget a lot so ISFJ or ESFJ.

Oh boy that’s a lot this is going to be super freaking long I hope you know that…

4. Do you like your name? Is there another name you think would fit you better?

I am really glad you asked this because…I want to fill you in on a little secret. My name sucks. When I was born, my mother looked down at my tiny baby face and said (this is a near direct quote from her): “I should give this baby a genuinely unique name, something with personality, because lord knows she’s definitely not going to have one. Not with that face.”So she picked a name that probably by itself would have been fine, but then she decided that not only did she also wanted to be a “cool ‘90s ” mom on top of that, so she switched some of the letters around and called it good. Granted, there’s not too much of a difference, but when you name a baby after a word that’s in the dictionary that everybody knows because it’s also a common concept (Destiny- the hidden power that is believed to control what will happen in the future) and then switch two letters around (Destyni) you’re not being “edgy” you’re just making things awkward for your child in the future because the kid (me) has to constantly tell people that they’re spelling their name wrong even though they’re spelling the word right and honestly it’s so awkward because…everybody knows how to spell it, so they never ask me how it’s spelled so I have to go and be the jerk with the misspelled name and I feel bad whenever I have to correct them…

The weird thing is though, I can’t think of a single name that would fit me better, probably because I’m so accustomed to this messed up, stupid one.

1. If someone really wanted to understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?

Part of me really wants to say Homestuck, but almost none of my friends read any of it and I still feel like they get me, so that’s not exactly mandatory reading, that’s more extra credit right now… They should definitely read some manga. At least the basics, like Fullmetal Alchemist or Fruits Basket or something, definitely Ouran High School Host Club because it’s really good and funny and I (and all my friends) loved it. But for reading not involving pictures…Harry Potter for sure! Lord of the Flies is also good, so are 1984 and Animal Farm…I have a weird variety of taste when it comes to this kind of stuff. For watching stuff? I’d probably say Durarara and The Devil is a Part Timer. My entire childhood was pretty much Invader Zim and Disney movies, which is probably explains my weird sense of humor and love of science fiction (Invader Zim) and my Disney references (less prevalent, but they’re there sometimes if you squint real hard). They should definitely definitely DEFINITELY watch some Starkid musicals. Those things are beautiful. I’ve seen all of them at least three times (I cried the last time I watched Twisted, it was so good but parts of it were so sad. If you like Disney movies I recommend that one go watch it right now whenever you have a spare 2+ hours). Listening wise, I would probably say something like Panic at the Disco, Placebo, and The Airborne Toxic Event are a good enough indication of my taste in music? I don’t know. But listening to Welcome to Nightvale is a must. I love that podcast so MUCH! It’s beautiful and funny and weird and dark and…it’s just the best I can barely describe it. I love it so much I named my kitten, Khoshekh, after the cat that floats at a fixed point four feet off the floor in the men’s rest room at the Welcome to Nightvale Radio station. Anyway, it’s good, give it a listen.

3. List your fandoms and one character each you identify with.

Harry Potter- I wish I could say Hermione Granger, but I’m not that super smart or cool and my real answer has a dorky reason behind it…So, my best pals and I were talking about a year ago about which characters we were and, since there are four of us, we decided to group ourselves into the Marauders (aka James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin). Anyway, after not much debate and several surprisingly thorough personality tests in which none of us got the same character, I got Remus Lupin. So yeah, Remus Lupin, werewolf/ lover of chocolate.

Welcome to Nightvale-The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home. No more explanation than that.

Homestuck-I’ve had moments where I’ve identified with everyone, but I’m going to be basic and say I identify with my sign girl, Terezi Pyrope because I love her and pretty much always got her character the best, plus my number one best friend is a Scorpio, so it’s only fitting.

21. Do you love easily?

Yes and no? I mean, I love people as friends pretty easily. Pretty much you just have to talk to me and not be terrible or just laugh at something I said and boom I count you as at least an acquaintance. Romantically, though? No, not at all.

16. If you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you would have turned out the same?

That’s an excellent question. I would love to say no, but I know that’s false for the following reasons:I used to go to this really tiny, really expensive private school. It was kindergarten-12th Grade, and there were about 90 people there including the faculty. There were six people including me in my entire grade, and I was as social then as I am now, so I wasn’t even really friends with anyone. Everyone there was Lutheran and Conservative and extremely athletic, all of which are things that I am not. I don’t want to say I was depressed or anything, because I was about 11 and I don’t really remember a lot, I just remember not really being happy about anything and wanting attention and validation and all that jazz. Until I switched to public school before sixth grade, I only thought there were that many kids my age in the whole town and that I was just too weird to have a real friendship with anybody. Then sixth grade came, I switched schools, and I met some of my best friends and found out I’m not as weird and lame as I thought. So I’m pretty much the same person as I was in sixth grade, just less sad and attention seeking (I hope) and with a bigger, brighter sense of the world. If I’d stayed where I was, though, there’s not a doubt in my mind I would have eventually given in and tried to conform with my (literally five) peers and probably still have zero deep, real and meaningful relationships.

Got a few [possibly] related dreams from my naps - or is it nap because technically, I was only awake between them for a few minutes before conking back out.

Anyway.

First Dream:

Setting: magic school for [possibly] magical creatures

I walked into the classroom to take a test and was quietly sitting under the tables (for some reason I didn’t wanna sit in the chairs like everyone else) when there was this commotion. Suddenly there was this huge clash of thunder (or what sounded like it) and a bolt of electricity that shattered the classroom windows and scattered the test papers.

Everyone ran out screaming.

Then the scene changed. I was in a cafeteria line getting my food (thankfully actual food and not the lunches I used to get back in school) when there was another commotion. I looked at where it was coming from and saw SNK/AOT’s Eren, Mikasa, and Armin at a table (apparently they were students too). Eren was trying to bite his hand and his friends were trying to stop him, and it created quite the racket.

Eren transformed and the students in the cafeteria went crazy. My lunch was knocked from my hands.

Another scene change. I was standing in front of a wall with windows with several classmates and a teacher (looked like Akame ga Kill’s Susanoo) - Armin was there too. Outside the windows was what looked like a lake and it was filled with rubble and what looked like bodies.

He discussed the assignment - go out there and search for survivors / clear away the rubble. He sent us all out as we were (we had to use magic in order to maneuver under water). I stayed to the side for awhile watching the others, they complained about “trash duty” while working. They didn’t seem to notice the bodies though and when I tried to point them out, my classmates ignored me.

I decided to go on my own and free the bodies trapped within the rubble - on closer inspection, I realized they were more of my teachers and some were bleeding. After freeing them - Armin decided to help but didn’t know why at first until he used magic to help him see through whatever spells the teachers placed on themselves - and after the assignment was completed, they congratulated me and Armin on a job well done since I was able to see them and rescue them - they weren’t actually in any danger of drowning, they had their magic keeping them from doing so.

Second Dream

Setting: same magic school?

[this one doesn’t make a lot of sense] I was in a hallway when a classmate found this odd wooden doll/token thing, it transported him back in time to change one thing he regrets. When he came back, he told some of his friends about the doll and they used it too - one made a whole relationship with a girl not happen.

The teacher took the doll away from the students and locked it away.

The scene shifted to his office and it was nighttime. The teacher was still working at his desk when he was started by a voice (I don’t remember what it was saying) and then a spirit walked into the room through a wall. The ghost was dressed in colonist/revolutionary attire (think George Washington era but not the Great GW himself) and he was speaking in a foreign language (possibly French?)

It freaked the teacher out and then another spirit walked in, this time a girl with bloody clothes who was blaming him for some wrong done in the past. There were two or three more spirits after that which pestered him and he ran from the room, they followed. He tried to get help from his colleagues but they thought he was crazy, I stepped up to his defense (at first I thought that I was just an abject viewer with no corporeal form but apparently I was just an invisible person that floated about).

Third Dream

Setting: Cadet Academy, [possibly magic related?]

I was in a car with a cadet recruiter and he was explaining my new life to me - going to classes for cadet-ship and living in a dorm and different assignments. He stopped the car in a parking lot and we got out. The building ahead of us was at least a dozen and a half stories high and made of stone (like a hospital type building), there was long stretches of staircases running along a couple of the sides.

I followed the recruiter through the parking lot and up the stairs where I passed a few civilians, and he explained that parents/families normally dropped their kids off at the academy but since I didn’t have any, I wouldn’t have to deal with that mess (I got the feeling he wasn’t much of a family person).

We got to the top of the staircase when my phone started going off, I stopped to shut it off but couldn’t find it, then for some reason I sat on the top step where an old Asian lady and a little girl was - the lady looked sad and the girl was crying as she tried to climb down the stairs.

Scene shifted after a few minutes and I found myself walking into a classroom for orientation. The classroom was packed with new students looking to become cadets. A guy named Petra (who looked like a tanned Takeshi from Ouran Host Club) came up to my side asking where we should sit (apparently we were friends?), I pointed out a couple spots in the second row from the back (there were about five rows of desks).

We found our places, Petra to my right and a weird little squishy guy to my left (Johnny Tests’ Bling-Bling Boy but more fancy-French attitude, a bit emo-looking, and wearing TUA Five’s schoolboy uniform) that creeped me out because he kept staring at me.

Orientation began with a presentation on a screen and students busted out some food to eat, I had a whole meal from Panda Express in Tupperware dishes (lo mien noodles, black pepper steak, black pepper chicken, beef broccoli, and crab ragoon). I was eating with my right hand and taking notes with my left when I dropped my pen.

I went to pick it up when weird squishy guy next to me picked it up with telekinesis or something and handed it back to me, I thanked him and went back to paying attention.

I left the room during break and the scene shifted again. I was walking fast down a hallway feeling suffocated and like something was after me, there were students loitering and chatting. I thought about escaping to the outside world and found myself going into Petra’s room because I knew he had a window that could be opened in there.

Petra was passed out on the bed, I crossed his room and exited through the window there and made my escape into the outside world. I closed the window again and felt like I could breathe, then I ran over the grounds and into the forest.

Many of the trees there looked like they had once been hit by a bad wind storm (look up Derecho damage and look at images of trees, it was like that) but they had recovered. I wandered awhile on a path near a deep canyon with a river below when I noticed that some of the trees had long wide red markings like someone took a paintbrush and tried to paint the bark. The markings were a bit blood-colored.

Ghost Adventure’s Zak Baggins was suddenly there and telling me that it wasn’t blood but instead red clay dust from the river/canyon below that the trees would soak up and it would change the color of their bark. I asked him what he was doing there and he told me him and the boys were checking out an abandoned building nearby, then he asked if I wanted to investigate with them.

I accepted the invitation and stayed with them for awhile but then I had to get back to the academy so I left. When I got back to the academy, I was immediately stopped by one of my teachers who wasn’t very happy with me. She said that my sneaking out through Petra’s window caused the room to get cold which caused his heart defect to act up which then caused him to get petrified (however that works).

She dragged me to see him in his room and I found that his skin was a bit hardened and cracked like stone, but he was still alive and moving around. She said that he would recover soon but that I was in big trouble and should make it up to him.

Then she sent me back to class so Petra could rest. I wondered to myself how opening the window for a few seconds could cause him to petrify (apparently dream logic didn’t make any sense to me in this case), then I entered the classroom again and sat down for another lecture, and I wondered how I could make up my error in judgement to him.

This is where I woke up.
