Usually when I say something lives in my head rent-free, I'm exaggerating, but the scene in Outlander 1x08 where Rupert is telling the story around the fire right before they're about to be robbed and you can literally feel the atmosphere change even though he doesn't stop talking once, and all the silent communication between Jamie and the party, the way Jamie kisses Claire — both a goodbye and so he can give her his dagger, their laughter when it's all over........... LITERALLY rent-free, my beloveds

I believe the Wedding episode (1x08) is a particularily big Outlander ep in the fandom, widely regarded as one of the best. Perhpaps try to watch until then and see if it keeps your interest?

I had not seen Hugh Munro again, but I had wakened in darkness the night before to find Jamie gone from the blanket beside me. I tried to stay awake, waiting for him to return, but fell asleep as the moon began to sink. In the morning, he was sound asleep beside me, and on my blanket rested a small parcel, done up in a sheet of thin paper, fastened with the tail-feather of a woodpecker thrust through the sheet.

Unfolding it carefully, I found a large chunk of rough amber. One face of the chunk had been smoothed off and polished, and in this window could be seen the delicate dark form of a tiny dragonfly, suspended in eternal flight.

I smoothed out the wrapping. A message was incised on the grimy white surface, written in small and surprisingly elegant lettering."What does it say?" I asked Jamie, squinting at the odd letters and marks. "I think it's in Gaelic."He raised up on one elbow, squinting at the paper."Not Gaelic. Latin. Munro was a schoolmaster once, before the Turks took him. It's a bit from Catullus," he said:

Hey do you remember in which interview Sam tells about the shoot they did on his birthday on the mountain top????

Hello @garvita2002! Thanks for the ask! I apologize if this is really late, Tumblr didn’t let me know you sent anything -_-

I think the earliest mention of Sam talking about the Very Special Mountain Top Birthday™ is in 2015 for Travel + Leisure Magazine.

He also mentioned it in his foreword of Cameron McNeish’s book There’s Always The Hills, calling it “momentous” and “remarkable”

He’s talked it about it several times over the years. He’s answered tweets about it calling it one of his favorite / most memorable days shooting Outlander. And he even posted a BTS video of this photo from that day that sits in the halls out their studio.

Recently he and Caitriona both have brought that day up during Outlander promo dubbing it “The Picnic” and saying it was one of their Top 5 Moments

As much as they both like to complain about the weather they had to endure... I think they both remember that day fondly 🥰
