A/N: It's been a while y'all - boy am I glad to be back. Literally right after I posted my note about all of the stuff I'm working on, I got slammed with the biggest assessment I've had in my course so far (17 documents total once I'd finally finished it) and caught scarlet fever of all thing so it's taken a good while for me to finally feel well enough and have spare time to write - but here we are!

I'm so excited to write for my favourite built queen - this gif alone is makin me feel things. I'm going to format all of these the same way from now on with SFW and NSFW headcanons from now on. Ofc there will be warning for the NSFW section :)

SFW Headcanons

Odessa is the kind of gal that isn't really impressed by appearances.

Sure, she has her preferences and finds certain things attractive, but that isn't what piques her interest.

For Dez, it's all about personality, especially if you're the kind of person who is merciful and gentle with others.

This doesn't mean you have to be a doormat, in fact if you stand up for yourself (physically or verbally) when you feel as if you are being treated unfairly or others are being treated unfairly, that's possibly the hottest thing you could ever do in her eyes.

It's just something about the Peter Pan types that really captivates her. Not just in stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, but in being self aware of your strengths and using them to do right by those who are not in the same position of privilege.

This is how she figures out that her little crush on you was not just a little crush anymore.

She overheard you and another agent talking about life before the crisis, and found out that you used to do volunteer work every weekend delivering essentials to the homeless in your city and how much you missed your community outreach.

That and she watched you sock a guy in the face after he attempted to grope your friend at a bar.

It's healing for her and her inner child and she finds herself looking up to you as a role model - she's aware she's no angel and has done many questionable things to survive out there in the wasteland.

However she hopes that now as a part of Overwatch, she can be better and similarly to you, that she can use her position to help others less fortunate.

Dez is fine with casual or short term relationships and has had plenty in her time, she doesn't necessarily need to know someone to be attracted to them - but when she built that emotional connection with you, that's when she knew she was in for the long run.

The best part about dating Dez is that she isn't embarrassed easily - she's very open from the beginning which means conversation flows naturally with her. The downside of this is that for the first few months of being together, getting to sleep was nearly impossible, three am deep conversations just hit different.

This also means if you ever need anything, she is more than happy to accommodate.

Sick? She keeps note of the medication you need and when you need to take it so she can make sure you take it (and bring you water in your comfort water bottle to boot). That time of the month? If somehow the stash of your preferred products are out, she knows what you use - she will get you more without you even needing to ask (she will however check if you crave anything in particular on the way out).

Expect to be doing the same for her when she gets sick - she becomes the biggest needy baby when she's not feeling well.

She's stuck in bed? Yep. So are you.

Not even by choice either, she cages you with her arms and well that's that. There's no fighting this goliath of a woman.

Loves her cuddles - all positions.

Her favourite is being the little spoon though. It's not often that she gets to feel protected and cocooned (can you really blame her).

Loves PDA - particularly keeping an arm around your waist or you attached to her arm at all times, though she's known to do a casual steamy kiss in public when she's feeling particularly jealous.

If you're not one for PDA, she respects that boundary... However she will pout at you with those big red puppy dog eyes.

Absolutely hopeless at cooking and baking though not for lack of trying. Wakes you up regularly cursing about burning her toast.

Speaking of waking you up, Dez has nightmares somewhat regularly.

Rise is her modeling partner in roommate, and sadly for her, being around someone who eats so much junk is affecting her own body.

Naoto: 5'3, 320 pounds. A detective trying her best to make a living in the world. However, her love for sweets and junk food lead her to quite a few embarrassing scenarios in front of her fellow officers. Things that only seem to get worse as she gets fatter.

opinion, I just don't like it. like, where is the variability? Kiriko, Illari, and now Juno just looks all the same in terms of body type and hell, even in sillouette. and they're all supports?!

hell, thousands of artists out there who are still in this fandom could do better.

AAAAND as artists, you espescially considering the whole 3d character artist model and being in school for it, we could do better.

but again I'm somewhat aware that I'm being a dıck so...

On a character design stand point I do agree, the old design that Juno had in her concept art definitely gave her more of a varied look. While now she does seem like every other support, and though she does have a unique silhouette, it's not unique enough. I love her character so far and honestly like her design on its own but when paired with other supports she doesn't stand out like how a character like Moira and Brig do.

However, I'm not just in school for art, I'm in school for game art, and I do know why this is. It specifically because Juno is a support with high mobility. When designing a character for a game like Overwatch you need to consider hit box when designing their character. It's why characters like Mercy and Moira are designed the way they are, small hit box but low health. There is also the fact that she's intended to be a close to mid range character with high mobility, her having a smaller hit box makes it easier for her to survive those situations.

That does not mean I don't agree with you in general. I have really kept it a secret that I think a lot of the balance problems in Overwatch are caused by a lack of kit crossover in support and Tank. Juno does fix that problem with being both Ana with high mobility and Lucio with higher healing. But we also need bulkier support, as to me Brig feels like the only one who has that feel. Zen is close but that's only because he has a big hit box in general.

Listen, I know it’s canon-compliant, seeing as Kiriko and Orisa shouldn’t be with Overwatch by this point, but it was cute to hear that Genji had been working on his Role Heroes’ backstory with Emily for weeks. They’re actual friends!

We could already assume Emily was part of the Overwatch family with how close she is to Winston and Mei (They are her siblings-in-law, your honor). There was that Overwatch 1 interaction where Winston invites Mei to hot pot with Lena, Emily, and Athena that was followed by an Overwatch 2 interaction where Winston says he can’t wait for the next hot pot with Mei. Then, there was also the 2018 OWL spray where they’re all watching sports on a couch. Classic Lemon Tea history right there.

What makes me upset is the fact that Emily doesn’t seem to be living at Watchpoint: Gibraltar. London Calling ended with Lena and Winston saying “We did it! We saved London!”, but we know Iggy is in danger in the upcoming co-op mission. That’s the thing that’s always annoyed me with the plot armor our heroes have. You’re telling me that Lena and Emily have been living safely in London for over five years while Talon has Lena on a hit list???

On one hand, a bit of angst where Emily says her goodbyes to Lena would make me cry, in a good way. (Their love will persevere through anything, damn it!) We see how appreciative Emily is of Lena’s vigilantism in London Calling. She would give up having her girlfriend by her side for the betterment of the world. Also, I love the idea of Mei being subjected to Lena being a sobbing mess without her girlfriend in the crew quarters. On the other hand, Emily is not safe in London. Period.

Let me make one thing clear: I do not want Emily as a hero. Ever. Not only do I not want the possibility of Lena and Emily killing each other (it’s heartbreaking enough with Winston), but I think Emily is perfect as a civilian. She reminds Lena what she’s fighting for, but she’s also a great parallel to Jack’s relationship with Vincent. Jack forgot what he was fighting for, putting his duty above all else, and distanced himself from everyone. Emily is the reason why Lena kept up with being a vigilante, the reason why Lena bumped into Iggy, and the reason why Lena and Iggy were able to stop Kace’s uprising.

All of this is to say that I love the idea of Emily being at Watchpoint: Gibraltar with the new blood of Overwatch. It’s as safe as she’ll ever be with Lena as her girlfriend, after all. I want to see her interact with more heroes, and I guess I’m a little disappointed by the heroes playing their Role Heroes campaign. If we could get Kiriko and Orisa, who are not there in canon, why couldn’t we get Jack? Have you SEEN him being an absolute nerd over chess in the Sojourn novel? It would be a great way to show players who don’t view external media that Jack isn’t just a grumpy old man.

Also, can we talk about Adventurer Tracer’s lines? “Was your knight on holiday?” when eliminating Mercy? “Sorry, I’m the knight in this realm!” when eliminating Pharah? HELLO??? I need to see a Lemon Tea and Pharmercy double date this instant. (People can grow apart after five+ years of not seeing each other. Sorry, Gency shippers.)

I haven’t even seen the rest of Questwatch. I’m “only” tier 42 as of writing this, and I haven’t seen anyone post all the chapters in their entirety. Still, I am LIVING for all this Emily content. Now, give her a voice. Give her a 3D model. Let her show up in Story Missions. I am BEGGING.

You don't need to answer if you don't feel like it, but do you have any random head cannons about Genji, mercy or any of the other OverWatch cast? (Like absurd meaningless things but still a part of their character, I personally just think those are some of the funniest/interesting headcannons sometimes)

I mean a lot of the time, certain things just kind of pop up organically in the process of writing fic. I'm not really in the habit of trying to tack things on to characters to make them more interesting, so much as extrapolating from canon to highlight what is interesting about them and how they contrast against the rest of that cast. So with that in mind...

I do have some thoughts about Juno, though.

Juno had– and possibly has, but my faith is minuscule– so much potential. I love alien type characters, and as embarrassing as it is to admit it, she is kind of cute in a very awkward and anxious way. I can relate to it.

However.

They take that cuteness and they fetishized the shit out of it.

There is not a single fucking hero that has an ass that defined. Not Mercy, not Tracer, not D.va until they edited her base model for Overwatch 2. Maybe Widow? She's thirty something years old though.

You can also somewhat notice this change with Mercy as well but it seems like they made her more realistically portioned than pornified slop. Again, though, Mercy is forty years old.

They put Juno (19) in a thong for fucks sake. A thong, with a defined ass, and for what? To get that $$$. Not to mention the post where she sticks her feet in the air. They know their audience, that's for sure.

We could've had a very cute, awkward, anxious alien support but they chose to sexualize her for no reason. She deserved better. We deserved better. Just look at her Blizzcon design compared to what we got now. They removed all the armor, everything that covered her up, and just straight up made her naked.

You could've at least given her a proper space suit.

She's fun to play. I'll give her that much. It's just... knowing the malicious intentions behind her makes me feel... weird. :\

We were done dirty. Why wasn't she Mei's friend in the first place? I'd kill for some more older ladies in Overwatch.
