Temperance (XIV) is the fourteenth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks.

Temperance (Italian: La Temperanza) appears in the oldest Italian decks where it is numbered VI or VII. In the Tarot de Marseille and in most contemporary decks the card is numbered XIV.

Temperance is almost invariably depicted as a person pouring liquid from one receptacle into another. Historically, this was a standard symbol of the virtue temperance, one of the cardinal virtues, representing the dilution of wine with water.

When the Temperance card appears on the obverse, it is symbolically linked to good economy, but also to the capacity for moderation, management and accommodation.

If this card appears upside down to the applicant, it can indicate situations and things connected with churches and religions, but also with sects, the priesthood; sometimes even the priest who will celebrate the wedding.

It can also indicate disunity, unfortunate combinations, and conflicting interests.

Author's notes: I drew this Sansa twice. I was very undecided about how to render it, but in the end I opted for a static pose, thus choosing to combine it with the other seated women (Daenerys, card number 2, and Cersei, card number 11). At the same time, I found amusing that I could place a goblet in her hand, linking it in some way to Tyrion's card (number 1, the Pagad) and basically also to the events of the Chronicles where both, precisely 'cause of a touched chalice, become prime suspects in a regicide charge.

Takarazuka Actress found dead, believed to be suicide

According to multiple news sources, on 9/30/2023, at approximately 7:04 AM, a woman 25 years old was found lying on the parking lot of an 18th story apartment building in Takarazuka City. The police found on the 18th floor a bag with belongings found to be of an actress of Takarazuka Revue.

According to the article on Bunshun Online, the actress was born in 1998 in Kyoto, the oldest daughter of a 140 year-running vintage shop and is a member of the Cosmos Troupe. According to an affiliate of the Revue, the actress A had a younger sister, and lived in the apartment building owned by their father together. Actress A debuted in 2017.

Cosmos Troupe's first day of performance "PAGAD/Sky Fantasy" was on 9/29, and the actress went on stage as usual, but on 9/30 the actress did not appear for the performance. Takarazuka Revue announced cancellation of the run of the performance from 10/1 to 10/8, due to multiple performers feeling unwell.

This appears to me to be the correct origin of the word, while the second t is an Egyptian hieroglyphic final, which is added to denote the feminine gender. The following are interesting metatheses of the letters of TARO: TORA (Hebrew) = Law; TROA (Hebrew) = Gate; ROTA (Latin) = wheel; ORAT (Latin) = it speaks, argues, or entreats; TAOR (Egyptian) = Täur, the Goddess of Darkness; ATOR (Egyptian) = Athor, the Egyptian Venus. A Mr. Lumley tells me that there is a Zend word "tarisk", meaning "to require an answer"."
