Going Over the New Pokemon Reveals in the Scarlet/Violet Trailer

First of all - new Woop dropped!

It could use a little more pink to make it look more venomous and contrast all the brown. Otherwise, it's pretty good. This Woop is definitely going on my team. I hope Quagsire gets a regional evolution and it turns into a three stage line, similar to Obstagoon.

This Woop is delightful, but GameFreak still uses very safe types when making regional forms. Some types like Dark, Poison, Psychic, Steel, or even Ghost basically amount to an aesthetic change. Where are our Dragon-type Arcanine, or Grass-type Wingull?

I'm more excited for the Woop than any of the other new Pokemon, other than the starters and legendaries which all have great designs. The naming is on point once again with Fidough, but the design isn't especially speaking to me.

Cetitan…is difficult.

I like the white and pink coloring, and the black around the eyes. The whale shape is fun to see on land. Then there's the front of it. What is going on there? It's lumpy AND spiky. It's like Togekiss had a lovechild with Crabominable.

Classic Community Days are odd. They bring back an old Pokemon from a previous Community Day and basically do it all again. For November, our classic Pokemon was Dratini, the cute little snakey dragon Pokemon. I happen to really like Dratini and Dragonair, so a chance to stock up on fresh shinies is nice. Wishing for the first time in my life that I could download mods for a pokemon game.

I'd love some cool outfit packs, some different mons, some interesting side quests.

Paldia feels very empty to me. And while it's open world, there is still clearly an order in which you're supposed to do things. You CAN go wherever you want. But you're going to suffer full party wipes constantly if you don't stay on the invisible track.

My fondest wish is for these games to become the Skyrim of the Pokemon franchise.

It's already hella busted. And there's infinite potential for smaller stories and exciting mechanics to take place in this region.

Like, you're on a quest to find something important to you, right? What if you could try other things besides just battles (and sandwiches, I guess)? Like temping at a pokemon daycare? Or learning from a pokemon rainger?

But I know Nintendo would NEVER allow that to happen.

I'm just... I don't have a lot of disposable income.

Pokemon Violet was a huge expense for me, and I know I'm going to have to be extra frugal with my money over the next few months.

I'm REALLY disappointed that this was the product they released. I would have been happy to wait much longer for a better game.

There are just SO many decisions that I don't understand (like separating all of the shops. It's so annoying to run between them! And having all these huge buildings that you can't even go inside. There's not even the illusion of functionality!)

I know they could have done so much better. And with how much they charge, they SHOULD have done better.

Again, if you're having fun with it, then I'm genuinely happy for you.

I just... I feel... cheated? And sad. Very sad. :'(

I haven't been yet, no. But I have seen those cute little balls of string they make as Tarountula! Precious~

But if I had to pick one, I would say it's this! *includes picture of a fossil*

Bug type pokemon don't tend to leave behind much more than imprints or a bit of carapace, soft bodies decay way too easily to be preserved the same way boney creatures do. But this one is a "Compression Fossil", a fossil which has been preserved due to compression in sedimentary rock. And look! You can even see some of it's color!

I believe it was dubbed a "Slither Wing" by the person who discovered it.
