Big Time Hot Take #6
There should have been an episode called "Big Time Graduation", which showed the boys finishing their Palmwoods School education. Instead, they were simply never shown in school again after season two.
Feel free to brainstorm how that episode would've played out. For me, it would've involved Logan aggressively competing with another student (who is known as the "Palmwoods Genius") for the top-of-the-class position.
Side note: Does anyone else feel sorry for Miss Collins? She was the only teacher there...that must have been absolutely dreadful.

How Can a Palmwoods Chiropractor Help with Back Pain?
Tumblr media
Introduction: The Pervasive Nature of Back Pain
Back pain is a ubiquitous ailment that affects individuals across the globe, transcending age, profession, and lifestyle. From the occasional twinge to chronic, debilitating pain, its impact on one's quality of life can be substantial. While conventional treatment often revolves around medication and invasive procedures, the expertise of a Palmwoods chiropractor offers a holistic and natural path to alleviate back pain and restore optimal function.
The Palmwoods Chiropractor's Expertise: A Closer Look
Chiropractic care is founded on the principle that the body possesses an innate ability to heal itself. Palmwoods chiropractors are trained healthcare professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular emphasis on the spine. Their profound understanding of the intricate relationship between the spine, nervous system, and overall health allows them to address back pain from a multi-faceted perspective.
The Multifaceted Approach of Chiropractic Care in Palmwoods
1. Spinal Adjustments: The Cornerstone of Chiropractic Treatment
The hallmark of chiropractic care lies in spinal adjustments. These meticulously executed manipulations are designed to realign the vertebrae, thereby alleviating pressure on nerves, reducing inflammation, and promoting optimal nervous system function. By restoring proper spinal alignment, Palmwoods chiropractors can facilitate the body's natural healing process and provide lasting relief from back pain.
2. Postural Correction: A Key to Long-Term Relief
Poor posture is a common culprit behind chronic back pain. Whether it's slouching at a desk, hunching over a phone, or adopting improper lifting techniques, postural imbalances can place undue stress on the spine and surrounding muscles. A Palmwoods chiropractor can conduct a comprehensive postural assessment, identifying areas of concern and providing tailored exercises, stretches, and ergonomic recommendations to promote proper alignment and prevent future pain.
3. Soft Tissue Therapies: Enhancing Healing and Reducing Pain
In conjunction with spinal adjustments, Palmwoods chiropractors often incorporate soft tissue therapies into their treatment plans. These techniques, encompassing massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy, can effectively relax tense muscles, improve blood circulation, and reduce inflammation. By addressing soft tissue dysfunction, chiropractic care can enhance the effectiveness of spinal adjustments and expedite the healing process.
4. Lifestyle Modifications: Empowering Patients to Take Control
A Palmwoods chiropractor recognizes the importance of lifestyle factors in back pain management. They provide valuable guidance on exercise, nutrition, stress management, and sleep hygiene, empowering patients to make informed choices that support their spinal health. By adopting healthy habits and making sustainable lifestyle modifications, individuals can actively contribute to their recovery and prevent future pain episodes.
The Advantages of Consulting a Palmwoods Chiropractor
1. Non-Invasive Treatment: A Safer Alternative
Chiropractic care stands as a beacon of hope for those seeking relief from back pain without resorting to invasive procedures or long-term medication use. It harnesses the body's innate healing potential, promoting long-term pain relief and improved function without the risks and side effects associated with conventional treatments.
2. Personalized Care: Tailored to Your Unique Needs
Palmwoods chiropractors understand that no two patients are alike. They conduct thorough assessments, considering medical history, lifestyle factors, and individual goals. Based on this comprehensive evaluation, they develop customized treatment plans that address the root cause of back pain and promote optimal well-being.
3. Improved Quality of Life: Beyond Pain Relief
The benefits of chiropractic care extend far beyond pain reduction. By restoring spinal function and promoting overall health, Palmwoods chiropractors can help individuals regain mobility, improve sleep quality, and experience a greater sense of well-being. The ripple effects of chiropractic care can touch every aspect of life, empowering individuals to live life to the fullest.
When is the Right Time to Seek Chiropractic Care?
Whether your back pain is acute or chronic, mild or severe, seeking the expertise of a Palmwoods chiropractor can be a transformative step towards recovery. Additionally, individuals who have recently experienced an injury or are seeking preventive care can benefit from the proactive approach of chiropractic treatment. By addressing underlying issues and promoting optimal spinal health, Palmwoods chiropractors can help you maintain a pain-free and active lifestyle.
Choosing the Right Palmwoods Chiropractor: A Crucial Decision
Selecting the right Palmwoods chiropractor is essential for a positive and successful treatment experience. Consider their qualifications, experience, and approach to care. Look for a chiropractor who is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and has a strong track record in the community. Don't hesitate to seek recommendations from friends, family, or your primary care physician.
Beyond Chiropractic Care: Additional Tips for Managing Back Pain
While chiropractic care plays a pivotal role in back pain management, incorporating additional strategies can further enhance your recovery and prevent future pain episodes. Consider the following tips:
Maintain a Healthy Weight: Excess weight places additional stress on the spine, exacerbating back pain. By achieving and maintaining a healthy weight, you can reduce strain on your back and promote optimal spinal health.
Engage in Regular Exercise: Targeted exercises can strengthen the muscles supporting your spine, improving posture and reducing the risk of injury. Consult with your Palmwoods chiropractor to develop a personalized exercise plan that aligns with your needs and capabilities.
Practice Good Posture: Pay attention to your posture throughout the day, whether sitting, standing, or lifting. Maintain a neutral spine, avoid slouching, and use ergonomic tools to support proper alignment.
Use Proper Lifting Techniques: When lifting heavy objects, bend at your knees, keep your back straight, and avoid twisting. Use your leg muscles to lift, rather than relying on your back.
Get Enough Restful Sleep: Adequate sleep is essential for the body's healing process. Aim for 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night to allow your body to repair and rejuvenate.
Manage Stress: Chronic stress can contribute to muscle tension and exacerbate back pain. Incorporate relaxation techniques into your daily routine, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or yoga.
Conclusion: Embrace a Pain-Free Life with Chiropractic Care
Back pain can cast a shadow over your life, limiting your activities and diminishing your overall well-being. However, it doesn't have to be a permanent burden. By seeking the expertise of a Palmwoods chiropractor, you can embark on a journey towards a pain-free and active lifestyle. Through personalized care, non-invasive treatment, and a holistic approach, chiropractic care can empower you to take control of your health and reclaim your life.
If you're ready to experience the transformative power of chiropractic care, schedule a consultation with a qualified Palmwoods chiropractor today. Take the first step towards a brighter, pain-free future. Your spine, and your overall well-being, will thank you.

BIG TIME CONCERT - part one, chapter fourteen
Tumblr media
The boys had finally made their first music video and it was difficult, but Andi thought it turned out really great in the end. The Puerto Rican girl was currently in the recording studio. She was the only one in there and she decided to play the grand piano that was in there. She wrote a song for herself a few days ago and wanted to try it out and see if it was good. She has a keyboard at home she used, but sometimes if you play it on a grand piano it sounds better.
Out in the hallway, Kendall was following Carlos, James, and Logan to Gustavo's office, but stopped when he heard a noise coming from the recording studio. It sounded like someone playing piano, it sounded beautiful. He wandered off from his friends to go find out who was playing the piano.
Andi continued to play the piano, unaware of Kendall entering the room. Her eyes were closed as she concentrated on playing the piano. Kendall smiles as he watches her play. He thinks the song she's playing is beautiful and he doesn't want to interrupt her. He had no idea she could play piano, he had recently just found out she could sing like an angel, now she can play the piano. She was so talented, she never failed to amaze him.
He stood there, mesmerized as she continued to play. She had yet to notice him as she was so focused on playing. The song was a slow, beautiful melody. Her fingers danced across the keys as she played, her expression soft and serene.
Finally, the song came to an end and she opened her eyes. She was startled to see Kendall standing there, his expression full of awe. She blushed, suddenly feeling embarrassed that he had heard her playing.
"Kendall!" She said nervously, standing up. "What are you doing here?" She smiled shyly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Kendall grins at her. "I heard someone playing the piano and I had to come see who it was. I didn't know you could play like that, Andi. That was amazing." He walked closer to her, a smile still on his face.
"Thanks," Andi said, her cheeks still flushed. "I wrote that song myself. It's not finished yet, though. I'm still working on it." She wasn't sure why she was telling him this, but something about his presence made her feel at ease, almost as if she could tell him anything. She didn't know why, but she felt comfortable around him, as if they had known each other for years instead of a few months.
"Really?" Kendall asks, his eyes widening as he looked impressed. He stops walking until he stood in front of her. "That's incredible, Andi. You're really talented. You never fail to amaze me." He reached out and gently took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Andi's heart skipped a beat at his touch, and she felt a warmth spread through her chest.
"Thank you, Kendall," She said softly, meeting his gaze. "That means a lot coming from you." She couldn't help but feel a rush of affection towards him. He always knew how to make her feel special, even with just a few simple words.
Kendall smiles softly at her, his eyes shining with warmth. "Anytime, Andi. You're one of a kind." He pauses before adding, "Maybe when you're done with the song, you could show it to me. I'd love to hear the rest of it."
Andi's smile grows, her cheeks turning a darker shade of pink. "I'd like that," She said quietly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "It would be an honor to share my music with you." She meant every word. She didn't let just anyone hear her music, but something about Kendall made her feel safe, like she could trust him with anything.
Kendall grins back at her, his expression full of warmth and sincerity. "Well, I should probably get going. Me and the guys are here to see if we can get our demos can be put in stores."
"I'll go with you." She offered, her cheeks warming up.
Kendall grins and gives her hand a squeeze. "I'd like that. I have a feeling I'm gonna need the support."
Andi smiles, her heart fluttering. "You've got my support, Kendall. I'm always here for you."
They both left the recording studio, still holding hands as they headed towards Gustavo's office. Their hearts felt lighter, knowing they had each other's support. Though when they got to the studio, they let go of their hands reluctantly. They both immediately missed the warmth and comfort that came from holding hands. But they knew it was for the best. Still, they couldn't help but steal glances at each other, their hearts filled with warmth and affection.
"Well?" The boys asked in anticipation as Kendall and Andi entered the office.
Kelly picks up a box full of their demos. She sets the box on the desk and Gustavo gets out one of the demos, showing it to Andi and the boys. "Schpingo."
Andi and the boys look at the demo excitedly. Andi had to admit the demo looked really good. She would buy it if it was in stores. "And people can buy this...In stores?" Kendall questioned hopefully and in disbelief. He still couldn't believe they made it this far.
Kelly points at them. "Not yet."
The smiles on Andi's and the boy's faces fell at hearing that. Gustavo stands up, going over to a white screen on the wall. "The record company will not release it until they announce your Big Time...." He pulls up the white screen, revealing a map of where Big Time Rush would tour. "Tour!"
Andi and the boys immediately grow excited again. Andi kind of figured that the band would eventually have a tour because she couldn't believe that it seemed like it was so close. "And your first concert is in two weeks." Gustavo said to the boys.
Andi steps to the side, looking at the boys weirdly when they start daydreaming about their concert. "Should I tell them that preparing for a concert will be the hardest thing they've ever done and that it's not in Times Square?" Gustavo asked, glancing at Andi and Kelly.
Kelly chuckles lightly. "Oh, let them have their fantasy." She looks at the boys with a smile. "They look so happy."
"Fine." Gustavo sighs and crosses his arms. "I'll give them another minute. Then I'll burst their bubble."
****
They were now in the recording studio where a stage was set up so the boys could get a real experience during practice. Andi stood on the stage next to Gustavo and Kelly. There were even manakins on stage to be the band.
"The concert stage, where you will need intense focus." Gustavo said to the boys.
"Incredible stamina." Kelly added.
"And," Andi chimes in, stepping to the side along with Gustavo and Kelly to reveal Mr. X. Mr. X looks at the boys, putting his arms in an 'x' position. "Expert knowledge of every inch."
"Why are we wearing dog cones?" Kendall asked, pointing to the dog cone he had on, looking annoyed.
"Because during your concert, you got to...Look at your fans," He sings the last part and then talks again as he points at his feet. "Not your feet!" Mr. X jumps off the stage, moving to stand in front of the boys. "And to avoid extreme injury, you have to know without thinking and see without looking."
A few moments later and the boys are on stage now while Andi, Gustavo, Kelly, and Mr. X are standing on the floor next to a stereo. "What if we have an itch?" Logan questioned.
Gustavo points at him. "Don't!"
"Places." Mr. X tells the boys and the boys did as they were told. "Focus. Begin."
It started off good until when Kendall and James go to walk to the opposite side of the stage, they bumped into each other. When each of them spin, Carlos and Logan end up knocking the drum set over and Andi cringes at the fall and the loud crash.
Kendall and James manage to get Carlos and Logan up while Mr. X turns off the music. He looks at Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly, shrugging his shoulders. "They lasted longer than I expected." He looks back at the boys. "Again!"
Mr. X turns the music on again and once again Kendall and James bump into each other when they try walking to the opposite side of the stage. Andi facepalmed when Carlos and Logan crash into the drum set again after the spin. She had a feeling this would take a long time.
****
There were three more days until the first dress rehearsal and so far the boys had made a lot of improvement but they still had a long way to go. Andi was proud of how much progress they were making, but she was also nervous. The concert was coming up quickly and they had a lot of work to do. She just hoped that they would be able to pull it off.
Training continues for the next few days and Andi had to admit the boys were getting a lot better at being on stage. There were a lot of bumps along the road, but they eventually got to the point where they didn't need to wear dog cones on stage. Dak Zevon had helped the boys prepare for their first concert since he had more experience than them. And Andi couldn't believe it, but she thought the boys were so close to being able to be ready to be on stage.
Now it was the day of their dress rehearsal. Andi thought that it went great. Whenever the crazy fan tried jumping on one of the boys they ducked and when Gustavo shined the bright spotlight on them they didn't faze at all.
Andi joins everyone on cheering when the boys were done preforming. Griffin claps as well, smiling at the boys. "Bravo! Bravo! Watching you boys go from nobodies to somebodies has been more thrilling than hunting humans which is why it hurts me to say the album, the tour, and this concert...Are cancelled."
Everyone looks at him with wide eyes and all speak at the same time. "What?"
"What?" Griffin repeats. He shakes his head and turns to Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly. "I mean yeah. Big Time Rush is dead."
Andi felt her heart drop and she didn't know what to say or think. This couldn't be happening. After everything they went through, how hard they worked, how much effort and time was put into preparing for the concert, this couldn't be the end. She looked over at the boys and her heart ached for them. She could see the sadness and disappointment in their eyes. This was supposed to be their big break, their moment of glory. And now it was gone, just like that.
The boys get off the stage, standing in front of the crowd along with Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly. The boys, Andi, Camille, Gustavo, and Kelly all ask him in a loud tone, "What do you mean Big Time Rush is dead?"
"Accounting has just released their risk and feasibility report on Big Time Rush and they decided it's too risky and not feasible." Griffin explained.
The female member of the marketing team steps forward, holding a children's book in her hand. "We're shifting our strategy to children's books on tape. No tour is required. They have a higher profit margin and are super cheap to make."
"Which is why tomorrow Gustavo will be producing 'Can You Foo?'." Griffin said, gesturing to the book the female marketing team member shows the them. "As read by actor-environmentalist Ed Begley Jr."
"But, Griffin," James speaks up. "This is our someday."
"Close. It's your last day. Sorry fellas," Griffin apologizes. "I like you; I do, but as we say in business..."
"That's business." Griffin said at the same time the female marketing team member says that.
"You can't do this!" Gustavo shouts. "W-We've been working our butts off! Our concert is in one week."
"Don't worry." Griffin assures them. "That's why I'm giving all of you...Fruit Baskets."
"Fruit Baskets?" Andi scoffs, speaking up for the first time since she heard the news. She knew she should've bit her tongue and kept her mouth shut, but she couldn't help herself. She was frustrated and upset and disappointed. "That's all you have to say to us? That you're sorry, but all you can give us are Fruit Baskets?" She shakes her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "These boys worked so hard and now it's all for nothing. What a great business man you are, Griffin." She snapped at him and she turned to walk away. She had no more words to say to him. She just wanted to go home and drown her sorrows. She was frustrated and angry and sad.
She stormed down the hallway, tears stinging her eyes. She couldn't believe this was happening. All of their hard work had gone to waste, just like that. It wasn't fair. The boys deserved better than this. She knew how much the concert meant to them and to have it taken away was just cruel.
"Andi, wait!" She heard Kendall call after her and she stops, taking a deep breath.
"Kendall, please, not right now." She said, trying to keep her voice steady. She was feeling a mix of emotions and she just wanted to go home and be alone.
"Andi, please." Kendall said pleadingly, stopping in front of her. He could see the tears in her eyes and he hated seeing her like this. He understood why she was upset, but he couldn't just let her walk away without saying something. "I can't let you leave without making sure you're okay."
"Yeah, perfectly fine. Why wouldn't I be?" She said sarcastically, wiping away a stray tear that escaped her eye. She didn't mean to sound rude or anything, she didn't want to take her anger out on Kendall, but she couldn't help it. She was so frustrated and angry and she felt helpless. She hated it. "I mean, our hard work was just thrown out the window and all Griffin has to say is that he's sorry and give us Fruit Baskets and think that will solve everything. And now apparently Big Time Rush is dead which means you guys might have to go back and I don't want that to happen and...I'm rambling. I'm sorry. I just need to go home and be alone. If you'll excuse me, I've gotta go." She turned and began to quickly walk down the hallway, sniffling and wiping her tears away. She couldn't stand there any longer. She just wanted to go home.
Kendall watched her go, his heart aching for her. He couldn't believe what happened either, but he couldn't let her walk away like this. Not when she was hurting so much. He hated seeing her like this. He knew he had to do something. He quickly went after her, trying to get her attention as they made it to the lobby of the building. "Andi, wait!"
"Leave me alone." She mumbled, continuing to walk in the direction to the Palm Woods. She felt overwhelmed with emotions and she just wanted to be alone with her thoughts.
Kendall didn't listen to her plea to be left alone. He couldn't just let her go like this. Not when she was clearly hurting. He caught up to her and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, causing her to stop and turn to look at him. "Andi, please," he said softly, his green eyes filled with concern. "I know this is tough, but you don't have to go through it alone. We're all in this together, remember?"
Andi sniffled, feeling a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill over. She didn't want to burden Kendall with her problems, but she couldn't deny the comfort she felt from his presence. "Kendall, please, just...Please leave me alone." She begged, her voice cracking.
"No." He said firmly, shaking his head. He wasn't going to let her push him away. Not when she was hurting so much. He cared about her and he wanted to be there for her. "Andi, please, talk to me. You don't have to go through this alone."
"I'm not going through anything." She said, her tone coming out harsher than she intended. She immediately felt bad and took a deep breath, letting out a shaky sigh. "Kendall, please, just let me be. I appreciate the gesture, but I really need to be alone right now."
"No." He repeats, his expression softening. "I'm not going to let you shut me out. You're clearly hurting and I'm not going to let you deal with that on your own. So, please, talk to me." He pleaded, his tone gentle and reassuring. He could see the turmoil in Andi's eyes, the pain and frustration bubbling beneath the surface, and he couldn't bear to see her suffer in silence.
Andi looked at Kendall, her heart aching at the concern in his eyes. She knew he meant well, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to open up about everything just yet. She felt so overwhelmed and lost, and she didn't know where to begin. "Kendall, I...I don't know what to say." She admits, her voice breaking. "I'm so angry and frustrated and disappointed, and I feel like I'm about to burst. And I'm scared, Kendall. I don't want you guys to leave, but I know it's a possibility, and I don't know if I can handle that. I don't know what to do. It's all just...too much." She finally broke down, her tears spilling over as she let out a choked sob. She felt Kendall's arms wrap around her, holding her close as she cried, and she buried her face in his shoulder, seeking comfort from his embrace. She was embarrassed by her outburst, but she was too overwhelmed to care. She just needed someone to hold onto, and Kendall was there for her, steady and unwavering.
She never had many friends growing up, but Kendall and his friends made her feel like she had a family. A place where she belonged. And the thought of losing that, losing them, was too much to bear. She clung to Kendall, his presence grounding her as she cried, her tears soaking into his shirt. Andi didn't know how long they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, but it was enough for her to calm down and find her voice again.
"I'm sorry." She whispers, her voice muffled against Kendall's shoulder. "This is embarrassing, and you shouldn't have to deal with this."
"Hey, it's okay." Kendall reassures her, his voice soft and soothing. "You're not bothering me. I'm glad you opened up to me. I want to be here for you, Andi. "I care about you, and I hate seeing you hurting like this. We're a team, Andi, and we're in this together. Whatever happens, we'll face it together. You're not alone." He pulls back slightly to look into her eyes, his gaze filled with sincerity and warmth. "And just so you know, you're not the only one feeling scared and frustrated. We're all in this together, and we'll figure it out. Together."
James rolls his eyes playfully, but Andi can see the hint of sadness in them. "Nice try, Andi, but I'm not falling for it." He tries to shut the door, but Andi quickly sticks her foot in the doorway, preventing him from closing it.Andi sniffles, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her at Kendall's words. She nods, grateful for his support and understanding. "Thank you, Kendall," She says, her voice steadier now. "I appreciate that. I'm not good at letting people in, but I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you're all here." She can't help but smile, despite the uncertainty of the situation. She feels a sense of warmth and gratitude towards Kendall, knowing that she has someone she can rely on during this difficult time. She knows that whatever happens, they'll face it together as a team.
"Even if we do happen to have to leave, we'll stay in touch. I promise." Kendall vows, his expression earnest and sincere. "But don't worry about that, not right now. Let's just spend some time together, okay? We can watch a movie or something, just to take our minds off of everything."
Andi nods, smiling softly at Kendall. She appreciates his efforts to cheer her up, and she's grateful for his presence and support. She knows that, even if the worst happens and the boys have to move back to Minnesota, she'll always have him and the others in her life. And that thought alone is enough to give her hope and strength. "Yeah, that sounds good," She says, her smile widening. "Thank you, Kendall, for everything." She leaned forward to kiss his cheek.
"You're welcome." Kendall whispered, smiling softly. He was relieved to see her smile and felt his heart skip a beat when she kissed his cheek. He felt his face grow warm, and he cleared his throat, trying to compose himself. "So, um, shall we go back to the Palm Woods?"
"Sure." Andi nodded, her smile widening. Despite everything that had happened, she was grateful for the support and friendship she had found in Kendall and the others. She knew that, whatever the future held, they would face it together. As they made their way back to the Palm Woods, the two shared a look, smiling at each other. They may not have been sure what the future held, but they knew that they would always have each other. And that was enough for them.
****
Andi had to admit she felt better after her conversation with Kendall. She was still hurt and frustrated, but she knew that Kendall and the boys would be there for her, no matter what. And sadly the boys did have to go move back to Minnesota and now Andi was at the boy's apartment to say her goodbyes. Her heart felt heavy as she reached the apartment and knocked.
"Hi, Mrs. Knight. I just wanted to come say goodbye." She greets once Jennifer opens the door for her, her eyes growing wide when she notices all of the boxes in the apartment. "Why are there so many boxes?"
"Katie ordered a lot of merchandise she was going to sell." Jennifer replies with a sigh. "And now she's upset that she can't." She steps to the side, sending Andi a smile. "Come in."
Andi nods in understanding as she walks inside. "Makes sense." She looks at Jennifer with a small smile. "Don't think I'm not gonna miss you too 'cause I am." Andi pulled the woman into a hug.
"I'll miss you too, hun." Jennifer said softly, returning the hug.
ennifer smiles and hugs her back. "I'm gonna miss you too, Andi."
After their hug Andi walks further into the apartment as Jennifer closes the door. Glancing around the place, she furrows her eyebrows when she notices something. "Where's Katie and James?"
"They're hiding 'cause they don't wanna leave." Carlos replied.
Andi sympathetically smiles. "Yeah, I don't blame them.' She walks over to Carlos and pulls him into a hug. "Gonna miss you and that stupid helmet of yours."
Carlos chuckles and hugs her back. "I'm gonna miss you too."
"James, get out here now so I can hug you!" Andi yelled after she pulled away from Carlos.
James opens the door of the bathroom and peeks out. "Not gonna happen 'cause this isn't real and we're not really going back to Minnesota."
Andi points at him, walking over to him with a determined expression on her face. "I'm gonna get you to hug me whether you like it or not."
James rolls his eyes playfully, but Andi can see the hint of sadness in them. "Nice try, Andi, but I'm not falling for it." He tried to shut the door, but Andi quickly sticked her foot in the doorway, preventing him from closing it.
"Hug me." She demanded, not moving an inch. She knew James was hurting and she wanted to comfort him. Plus she wasn't leaving without a hug from him.
Andi's persistence paid off as James finally relented, pulling her closer and hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, feeling the warmth of his presence and the weight of the impending goodbye. James hugged her back, his grip firm yet tender, conveying all the emotions he couldn't put into words.
"I'm not gonna miss you 'cause we're not leaving." He grumbled, although Andi could hear the pain in his voice.
"Well I'm gonna miss you." She replied, hugging him tighter. She knew he was putting up a front, but she also knew that he was hurting. She was going to miss him, and all of the boys, so much. They had become her best friends and family, and she was going to miss spending time with them and laughing at their crazy antics. She was going to miss the late-night phone calls and the early morning coffee runs, the inside jokes and the silly nicknames, the hugs and the laughter, and most of all, the memories they had made together.
"Yeah, I'm gonna miss you too." James finally admitted quietly, his voice thick with emotion.
Andi's heart ached at the sound of his voice, and she could feel her own tears threatening to fall. "You better text me or call me every day. No excuses." She said, trying to lighten the mood.
"I will. I promise." He mumbled, his voice muffled against her shoulder.
"Good." She sighs, taking in a shaky breath. She hated goodbyes, and this one was especially hard. She pulls away, giving him a watery smile. "We'll keep in touch. Promise."
"Yeah, we will." James smiled, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.
She also managed to get Katie out of her little fort of boxes she made to hug her. Before she left she made sure to stop by the pool where Jennifer told her Kendall and Logan were at saying goodbye to Jo and Camille.
"I'm gonna miss you both so much." Andi said with a sad smile. She didn't want them to leave, but she knew she had to say goodbye. She hugged Logan tightly, feeling his arms wrap around her in return.
"We're gonna miss you too." Logan whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
"You both better call or text." She mumbled as she hugged him tighter.
"Obviously." Logan muttered, causing Andi to chuckle.
After she hugged Logan, Andi turns to Kendall, her heart aching at the thought of saying goodbye to him. "I can't believe you're leaving." She said quietly, her voice breaking. She felt Kendall pull her into a tight embrace, and she clung to him, trying to memorize the feel of his arms around her and the scent of his cologne. She buried her face in his shoulder, letting her tears fall freely as she held onto him, knowing that this would be the last time they'd be together like this. She could feel his arms tightening around her, as if he was trying to convey all the words he couldn't say, and she clung to him, not wanting to let go.
"I don't want you to leave." She mumbled, her voice muffled against his chest.
"I don't want to leave either." Kendall whispers, his arms still wrapped tightly around her. "But we'll still be in touch, I promise. And whenever you need me, I'll be here for you, no matter where I am."
Andi pulls away, wiping her tears as she looks up at Kendall. "Promise?"
"Promise." He replies, his green eyes filled with sincerity and affection. He holds out his pinky finger, and Andi can't help but smile as she interlocks her own with his. It was a silly gesture, but it meant everything to her. "Pinky swear." He said, a sad smile gracing his features.
Andi's smile widens as she feels Kendall's finger intertwine with hers. She knew that he was serious about keeping in touch and being there for her, and it meant the world to her. She could feel her heart swell with love and affection for him, and she couldn't help but think about how lucky she was to have him in her life.
"Thank you, Kendall. For everything." She whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
"Anytime, Andi." He whispered back, his green eyes shining with unspoken words.
They continued to hug each other, neither one wanting to let go. But eventually, Andi knew she had to. She couldn't bear to watch her boys leave, but she knew that they had to. She gave Kendall one final hug, trying to memorize the feel of his strong arms wrapped around her, before reluctantly letting go. She was going to miss all the boys, but Kendall was special. He became her best friend and more. She would never forget the times they spent together, and she knew that a part of her would always be with him. As she watched him walk away, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness and loss. She knew that things would never be the same again, but she also knew that they would always have a connection. And even though they were apart, Andi knew that Kendall would always be there for her, no matter what.
****
It's been three days since Jennifer, Katie, and the boys haven't been in L.A. and things weren't the same without them. Andi knew it was silly but she was already missing them, and she was dreading the empty feeling in her stomach when she woke up the next morning. She missed having breakfast with Kendall, or hanging out at the Palm Woods with James and Carlos. She even missed the way Logan would constantly ramble on about some new medical discovery. She missed listening to Carlos' crazy ideas and seeing James' obsessing over his hair and clothes. She missed playing hockey with the boys and watching movies with Kendall. Spending time with them made her feel happy and alive, and now that they were gone, she felt like a part of her was missing.
"Get out of bed." Andi groaned at hearing her mom's voice. She knew her mom was right, she couldn't lay in bed all day, but she didn't feel like doing anything. Kelly walked into her daughter's room and walks over to the window, pulling back the curtain and letting the light in her dark room. Andi groaned again, pulling the covers over her head.
"What's the point, mom?" She sighs, her voice muffled by the blanket. "They're gone. I have nothing to look forward to." She dramatically sighed, causing her mother to chuckle.
Kelly walks over to her daughter's bed and sits down. "You have so much to look forward to, hun. You have the rest of your life ahead of you."
"It's nothing without them." She mumbled, her voice filled with sadness.
Kelly smiles sadly, understanding her daughter's pain. She missed the boys and Jennifer and Katie as well, but she knew that they would keep in touch and that she and Andi would see them again. "They're not gone, hun. We'll see them again, and we'll talk to them. They're only a phone call or a text message away."
Andi peeks her head out from under the blanket, her gaze meeting her mom's. "It's not the same." She huffs, frowning at her mom. "And just when I was starting to like him too." She mumbled, burying her face back into the pillow.
"Kendall?" Kelly asked, already knowing the answer. She could see the way Andi and Kendall interacted, and she knew that they had a connection.
"Yeah." Andi's muffled voice replies. "I really like him, and now he's gone. He was the first boy I had a crush on. And now he's gone."
"Oh, sweetheart." Kelly cooed, feeling sympathetic towards her daughter. She could hear the sadness and hurt in her voice, and she knew that she was taking the boys' departure pretty hard. The past three days her daughter had been moping around the apartment, barely eating or talking. Andi was usually a very upbeat and positive person, but the boys' departure had taken a toll on her. She wasn't even writing songs or playing piano. She was just laying in bed, not wanting to do anything.
"It'll be okay, Andi." She reassures her daughter, reaching over and rubbing her back soothingly. "You'll see, things will work out."
Andi lifts her head and looks at her mom, a defeated look on her face. "How do you know that?"
"Because I know you. And I know that you're stronger than you think. You can get through anything, and I'm here for you, no matter what. I love you, sweetie." Kelly said, smiling softly at her daughter.
"I love you too, mom." Andi replied, returning her mom's smile. Despite the emptiness she felt, she was grateful for her mom and her support. She knew that her mom was right, and that she could get through anything. But still, she missed the boys and Jennifer and Katie, and she couldn't help but wonder when they would see each other again.
****
The next day Andi was doing slightly better though, of course, still upset about the boys moving away. She was sitting at her desk in her room, her notebook open as she worked on writing the rest of her song she had started.
"Andi, pack a bag, we're going to Minnesota." Her mom suddenly said, walking into her room.
Andi looks up with wide eyes, a shocked expression on her face. "Are you serious?" She asked, her voice filled with disbelief, sitting up straighter while excitement began to build up in her.
Kelly nods, a wide smile on her face. "Very. Gustav and I have a plan to get the band back together," She goes to her daughter's closet, pulling out her suitcase. "So pack a bag, get ready, and get excited 'cause we're leaving in two hours."
"Yes!" Andi shouted, jumping up from her seat. She was beyond ecstatic. She couldn't believe that she was going to see the boys and Jennifer and Katie again. She eagerly packed her bag, making sure to pack enough clothes for the trip. She was so excited she couldn't even sit still, her nerves and excitement getting the best of her. She couldn't wait to see the boys and tell them the good news. After she was finished packing, Andi helped her mom finish packing their bags, and the two of them met up with Gustavo to head to Minnesota.
****
To say that Kendall was surprised to see Gustavo, Kelly, and Andi at his door later that day was an understatement. Andi watched with surprise and concern at seeing the boy faint back onto a stack of boxes behind him, knocking a few of them down.
"Is he okay?" She asks, her eyebrows furrowing in concern. She was worried about the boy, and she hoped he was alright. After Jennifer came over to let them in, she quickly went over to Kendall to check on him. "Kendall, are you okay?" She questioned, kneeling beside him and gently shaking him.
Kendall's eyes slowly opened, and he blinked a few times, his vision clearing. He first sees a concerned Andi hovering over him, but the angle the light is hitting her at causes her hair to shine like a golden halo around her. He feels his breath catch in his throat and his heart skip a beat as he stares up at her, completely captivated by her beauty. "Andi?" He croaked, his voice hoarse.
Andi nods, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Yeah, it's me. Are you okay?" She inquires, her voice laced with concern. "That fall looked a little painful." She added, her eyes roaming over his body, checking for any injuries.
Kendall shakes his head, still in disbelief. "Yeah, I'm fine." He sits up slowly, rubbing the back of his head. "I can't believe you're here."
Andi is surprised when suddenly he lunges forward, hugging her tightly. "Oof." She grunts as she stumbles back slightly, but hugs him back. "Missed you too." She mumbled, burying her face into his shoulder, breathing in his familiar scent. She had missed him, and now that they were reunited, she didn't want to let go.
Kendall smiles, pulling her closer. He had missed her, and he was glad to see her again. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Andi heard someone clear their throat behind her, reminding her why she was there. Reluctantly, she pulled away, giving Kendall a sheepish grin.
"Sorry, but we need to talk. Gustavo and my mom have a plan to get you guys back in the studio and on tour." She told him.
Kendall's eyes widen, and his mouth drops open. He couldn't believe it. Was he dreaming? If he was, he didn't want to wake up. "You really are an angel." He mumbled under his breath.
"What was that?" Andi asked, not quite hearing what Kendall said.
"I, um, just said you're awesome. Yeah, that's it." Kendall lied, not wanting to embarrass himself by telling her he thought she was an angel. He blushed and got up, offering a hand to her. Andi smiled and took it, and Kendall helped her up, his hand lingering on hers for a moment longer before he reluctantly pulled away.
"Thanks." She said, a shy smile on her lips. Soon Kendall was sat on the couch with his mom, Logan, and Carlos as she stood by her mom and Gustavo.
"I'm putting the band back together." Gustavo said, holding a cup of tea as he sat in front of Carlos, Kendall, Logan, and Kendall's and Katie's mom.
Kelly points at them with a grin on her face. "And we're doing the concert."
"Yes!" Katie suddenly appeared from behind the couch, wearing a Big Time Rush t-shirt and hat. Andi jumped, startled with her sudden appearance, but she smiled at her enthusiasm. She was so cute.
"What do you say, guys?" Gustavo asks. "You want to come back to L.A. and take one more shot at the big time?" He questioned in a hopeful tone.
Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly look at them with hopeful expressions. Kendall shares a look with Carlos and Logan before looking back at Gustavo. "No."
Andi frowns, feeling her heart drop. "Wait, what? Why?" She asked, a confused and disappointed expression on her face. She didn't understand.
Andi jumps a bit, glancing at Gustavo when he breaks the tea cup he held. Kendall points at Gustavo. "Gustavo, we're tired of being pushed around."
"We're gonna be a band. We're not gonna be a band. What you want. What Griffin doesn't want." Kendall points at himself. "I want a hockey scholarship."
Gustavo looks at Andi and Kelly with a panicked expression. "I want to be a doctor." Logan spoke.
Andi looks at Carlos weirdly, just then realizing he's wearing some sort of superhero costume. "And I want to make the world a safer place." Carlos said, putting his hands on his hips.
Kendall looks at Gustavo and shakes his head. "You didn't even say goodbye."
"I'm not good at goodbyes!" Gustavo shouts, startling the others. Kelly hits the back of his head causing the hat he wore to move forward a bit. Gustavo fixes his hat and sighs. "But I believe in you. And you've taught me things, other things that...I'm not good at, like friendship and loyalty...And family. Can I-Can I stop now?" Gustavo asked, glancing at Andi and Kelly pleadingly.
"Why stop now when you're so good at this stuff?" Andi chuckled, amused at Gustavo's awkwardness. She smiled sweetly at Gustavo when he narrowed his eyes at her and turned his attention back to the boys.
"If we go back, our album will be released, right?" Carlos questioned.
Gustavo stands up. "Once people will see your concert, everything else will fall into place. I'm almost positive."
While sighing, Kendall stands up. "So you want us to pack up everything, again, for a concert that may or may not launch our album."
Carlos and Logan stand up, crossing their arms. "So, we got a deal?" Gustavo nervously smiled.
A sigh of relief escapes Andi's lips when Carlos, Kendall, and Logan reply with, "Yep."
****
They're finally back in L.A., but sadly without James. They went to talk with James' dad to see where he is before they left Minnesota, and were sad to find out that he is now working with Hawk Records.
"We are back!" Carlos excitedly exclaimed.
"Now, all we have to do is find James, tell him the band's back together, and...." Kendall's voice trailed off as he, Carlos, and Logan realized that the place is empty.
"Oh my gosh, the studio's been robbed!" Logan exclaimed while the three of them panicked.
Carlos gasps. "Looks like this is a job for..." He opens his button up shirt to reveal his superhero costume underneath. "El Hombre Del Flaming Space Rock Man."
"That's an awful superhero name." Andi commented, her face scrunching up in distaste.
Kendall and Logan nods in agreement. Kendall mimics the sound of a buzzer while Logan points at Carlos. "Need a better name."
"The studio wasn't robbed." Kelly explained as Carlos buttoned his shirt back up.
"Yeah," Andi sighs. "Gustavo had to sell literally everything to buy Big Time Rush back from Griffin."
"Including my mansion." Gustavo cried out and sobbed into Kelly's shoulder. Kelly sighed handing him a handkerchief, and he blew his nose.
"Don't worry, Gustavo." Kendall assures him. "We won't let you down."
"And you can stay at the Palm Woods with us." Mrs. Knight offered.
"Yeah," Gustavo stops crying as he looks at each of them. "There's no money for the Palm Woods."
Carlos, Kendall, and Logan look at him with wide eyes. Katie furrows her eyebrows. "Then where are we staying?"

James Diamond x Reader
Tumblr media
Words: ~ 3160
A/N: My 10 year old self must've taken over me and ghostwritten this bc why the hell am I, a 19 year old, writing BTR fanfiction AND it's the best stuff I've written in months. God. Have fun. I'm so done over here.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
James has got a thing for you.
And that’s not a secret, not even to you. When he likes someone, he pursues them – that’s nothing new. The very moment you stepped into the Palmwoods, retrieving your key and James just so happened to walk into the lobby, the word “Dibs!” left his lips so fast, his friends didn’t even have a chance to lay eyes on you.
He wasn’t afraid to show you his interest, just like he was with every other person that appealed to him. But the difference with you was that every sweet word from him was laced with the tiniest bit of hesitation.
Just after a few days of getting to know you, the sheer thought of being rejected by you would have ruined him. One part of him wanted to share every sweet thought about you that ever crossed his mind, another part of him was – possibly for the first time – genuinely scared of your reaction.
His advances at you didn’t go unnoticed. At first, you felt flattered at such a good looking, charming guy flirting with you. Though it did feel a bit overwhelming, you barely knew him after all. You thought if he actually liked you like that, he would wait a bit. He’d be ready to get to know you more. But that wasn’t quite the case, at least how it appeared to you.
You got to know the boys of Big Time Rush along with the friends they made in the Palmwoods and spent a lot of time with them. However, James would always try to get close to you – it felt suffocating. You didn’t have the heart to reject him and tried to instead gently push him away, both literally and metaphorically.
James didn’t quite get it, thinking you aren’t into him yet and he would have to try harder. But after a while it felt simply pointless to him and he stopped. He went back to his usual self, flirting with any pretty girl willing to pay attention to him. It was obvious that he did this to distract himself from you, but if anyone would have asked him he’d insist that he’s over you – what a lie. At that point he was head over heels.
Desperation coated his aimless flirts, reaching for the attention he craved from you.
At this point James and you were good friends, having known each other for a bit longer. You finally felt like you knew him and he might know you.
It happened quite overnight – no, actually. Faster than that. He was only a friend, you swear. But that one friday night… A power outage. A few people from the Palmwoods sat outside beside the pool, surrounding a campfire. That and the countless candles being the only sources of light shimmering on your skin. A guitar went around, person after person sharing their musical talent waiting for the electricity to come back. Of course, it didn’t take long until it was James and his friends' turn. You were swaying back and forth, humming along with the tune of their song and basking in the heat of the fire. It was a very cozy moment and for the first time since arriving at the Palmwoods, you felt like you were surrounded by normal teens instead of aspiring stars. You’ve never felt closer to your friends, neighbors and even the people you’ve never talked to. You dared to look over at the boys singing, just a moment. But that very second you laid your eyes on James, something clicked in your mind. You’ve seen him countless times, always looking perfect, keeping himself in check. Though in that moment, the way he sat there – his hair disheveled from being in the pool, wearing his still slightly wet swimming trunks and a loose shirt, singing and swaying and having fun – something sparked in you.
And suddenly you missed when he shifted to sit just a bit closer to you, kept eye contact like his life depended on it and would put his hand on your shoulder, so tender and carefully as if he could scare you away. You took it for granted back then. That was quite literally how you got to know him and now that part is basically gone.
That “moment” you looked at him happened to turn into a full on stare. Not too obvious of course, but embarrassing enough that when his gaze caught yours, you turned your head faster than you even processed what just happened.
You’d like to slap yourself for the train of thought that just occupied your mind. Yes, James was nice and lovely and good looking and charming and whatever – but to you he also seemed like he never took it seriously.
To you, he tried to wrap you around his finger until he realized that you aren’t that easy to swoon.
To you, it seemed like he got bored of you and flirted with the next girl, until he got bored of her and flirted with the next. Again and again.
To you he was just a heartthrob, simple as that.
To him, you were an unattainable star he could only wish for.
Therefore, only a friendship blossomed between the two of you.
A while has passed since that night of realization and to be honest, you kept struggling to look at James the same. He shined a bit brighter in your life and that made you mad. There was no way you could ever have something serious with him, you told yourself. Just yesterday you saw him in the park with his arm around a pretty black haired girl.
Though the truth is, her eyes reminded James of yours. And he ghosted her by the end of the day because her laughter sounded off beat and sour compared to yours. He kept asking himself if you laugh at other peoples jokes like you do at his – if you ever gifted that smile, that one special smile he only saw a couple of times, to anyone but him. He hoped you didn’t.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
James, Carlos, Logan and Kendall were at the studio, recording a song like so often. As usual they were having fun, making jokes, pissing off Gustavo until James fell silent.
“Everything alright?” Logan asked after he took note of James' sudden change in behavior.
“My mother will come this evening,” he says rather quietly, shocked at himself for forgetting this.
“That’s good though, isn’t it? As long as she doesn’t want to take you back to Minnesota.” Kendall shrugs.
Of course that’s good. James is glad that he might build a normal mother-son relationship despite the long distance, now that his mother agreed to come visit him more often. However, there is one tiny little issue…
“I told her I have a girlfriend,” James admits.
“But you don’t..?” Carlos raises an eyebrow, “When was the last time you’ve had an actual girlfriend?”
“THATS-” James says loudly before cutting himself off, “Don’t say it like that.”
He takes a deep breath, thinking about how to handle this situation. A while ago his mother called, in true motherly fashion she obviously had to know about her son's love life. He might have been too prideful, and amidst his pride a bit delusional; he didn’t want to admit that for the first time in a while, he was hopelessly in love with someone. So he lied.
Of course he had a girlfriend. She’s lovely and special, not like any of the girls he brought home that his mother never approved of.
The band wasted no time, finishing work in record speed, rushing out of the studio so fast, not even Gustavo's angry shouts reached them. They were going to find a “girlfriend” for James for this evening, no matter what it takes.
They reached the Palmwoods, scanning the lobby like they were on a hunt.
“Any preferences or just anyone? Look at that blonde over there, she’s pretty!” Carlos pointed across the room.
“Oh no she knows me,” James shook his head.
“We need someone we can trust to play along and lie. And she has to lie well, you know James’ mom.” Logan thought out loud.
Just in the right moment, you came out of the elevator, walking across the lobby.
“Her!” Kendall, Logan and Carlos shouted in unison. You stopped in your tracks, hesitantly pointing to yourself with a questioning expression, “Me?”
James stared at you with wide eyes. Of course you’d be the perfect fit. You know him, join his shenanigans regularly, aren’t too bad at lying and surely wouldn’t get your hopes up like others might. Though his heart aches a bit at the thought. He doesn’t admit it to himself, but he still likes you just a bit too much for his liking. Maybe he’d be the one to falsely get his hopes up after acting out a relationship for a whole evening. Going back to friends after his mother leaves might hurt a little too much. Is he ready to take that risk?
“We need you to be James' girlfriend!” Kendall said loudly, rushing over to you along with Carlos and Logan.
“What? Huh?” You’re surprised to say the least. Was that a confession? A joke? The boys explained the situation to you – a bit fast and all over the place, but good enough. By the end of it, James finally walked over to the four of you, his expression being a mix of embarrassment, panic and hope.
“Could you do that? Pleeeease? For us?” Kendall said, joined by Carlos: “We’ll make it up to you, pinky promise!”, as Logan nodded profusely.
“I guess, yeah. We can do that.” You nodded slowly, looking over at James. The tension in his shoulders was gone, he could breathe for a moment.
Together, you went up into the band’s apartment, being greeted by Kendall’s mom. She already started the dinner and immediately you joined her and helped prepare the meal and table. With now 5 more people by Ms. Knights side, it took significantly less time to get everything ready.
“James, can you pass me the plates?” You asked the boy, he looked at you for a moment, appearing like a deer in headlights, before bringing you the stack of plates. You smiled at him, nodding as a thanks and put the plates down around the table.
The both of you haven’t been this close in a while and on top of that, didn’t feel this awkward around each other in a while. About half an hour until James' mother arrives at the Palmwoods, the food was simmering on the stove and the table looked like straight out of a five star restaurant, adorned with flowers and folded napkins.
You joined James on the sofa, letting yourself fall against the soft cushions in hopes of it releasing the tension building up inside of you. In just 28 minutes you’d have to act like the girlfriend of the boy you’ve had a very complicated almost-crush on (that you had yet to admit to yourself).
“You’re stupid, you know that?”, you said with a slight laugh in your voice. James turned to you, slouched back into the sofa with his arms crossed. Up until then, he looked serious and deep in thought. Now he’s raising an eyebrow and fighting a smile.
“For lying to my mom?”
“For lying to your mom,” you said, slowly subconsciously mimicking his pose. You looked at him a bit longer, trying to figure out what he thought at the moment.
“It’s gonna work out, yeah? I’ll try my best. I’ll be so all over you, your mom would think we're about to get married or something,” you tried to joke to lighten the mood, slightly nudging his knee with yours. A long sigh escaped his lips and finally, a smile appeared.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“So you’re the lucky girl?” Ms. Diamond says in an unreadable voice. James just picked her up at the entrance of the Palmwoods, guiding her up into the apartment where everyone else was waiting patiently. She walked through the door, radiating willpower, sternness and a bit of sass.
Now she’s standing in front of you, reaching out her hand for you to shake and looking you up and down, before glancing towards James, raising her eyebrows so quick you almost didn’t see it. You follow her gaze over to her son, widening your eyes a bit, hoping he gets the message that you're ‘struggling over here!!!!’
He quickly comes over, resting his hand on your back. You see his mother noticing the gesture and lean a bit into James' touch, just as the cherry on top.
The both of you guide Ms. Diamond over to the table and you rush to help Ms. Knight with the pots and pans, bringing them over to the table. As everything’s ready and you want to sit down, James quickly gets up from his seat beside you and pulls out the chair for you in true gentleman's fashion. He gestures to you to sit and you do as he says, before he pushes your chair to the table.
Accidentally, as he sits down, his knee touches yours, but he doesn’t pull away. Neither do you. You keep telling yourself it’s just for show.
Everyone starts chatting – especially the two mothers of the table that desperately need to catch up – and filling their plates up. You do as everyone else, though quietly. You’re so unbelievably focused on James (obviously for the sake of the lie) that you’re not sure what to say.
“So,” Ms. Diamond says, her voice effortlessly louder than the others, “How did you two sweethearts meet?”James and you look at each other. Shit. You didn’t plan anything like that.
“Uhm..” You start, stalling a bit to figure out a good story.
“Right here, at the Palmwood,” James says confidently after a moment, “She walked in and I saw her and I said ‘wow!’”
“Actually, he said ‘DIBS!’,” Carlos says with a full mouth, earning a light punch from Katie.
“I got to know the boys and he didn’t move from my side,” you add to James’ retelling.
“It just kind of happened. We became friends and slowly… more,” he looks at you and you have to fight to keep a smile on while hearing his corny words. You nod, looking at your food to not let the mask slip.
James' mother asks you more and more and you feel like you can’t put an end to it. Every now and then James would get a bit closer, say something sweet to you or simply wink. You felt like when you arrived at the Palmwoods. But you let it happen, for the sake of fooling his mother. And maybe you enjoyed it a bit. Just a tiny little bit.
But the thought that all this is just fake and quite literally the result of the fact he doesn’t take relationships seriously, makes you want to push him away again.
Gently just like the way he slowly grabs your hand right now.
Tenderly like the way he lets his thumb glide up and down over the ridges of your knuckles.
You want to push him away, just not too far. So he’ll be gone for now but might come back later.
Maybe you just want to push him to lay your hands on him just once, but there are better ways to do that, aren't there?
So you let it happen, basking in his adoration for once. Enjoying it a bit too much for your liking.
After about an hour of dinner and chit-chat, Ms. Diamond excuses herself and her son to go on a little mother-son-walk through the park. You bid goodbye to her, reciprocating her firm handshake as a good last impression.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You finish washing the dishes before James comes back from the walk. Neverending questions about what his mother thinks of you plague your mind, but you're not sure why. The show is over after all.
Finally back in your own apartment, you pace back and forth, replaying the events of today again and again in your head. It’s already a bit dark out when you almost overhear someone knocking on the door from how filled your mind is. You rush over, not even looking through the peephole before opening the door.
Of course, James is there. Alone and calm, no smile or even flirtatious smirk adorning his face.
“Hi,” you say, curious about what he wants.
“Hey.” He lays his hand on the door, pushing slightly, letting himself in. It’s dark in your apartment, aside from a small warm lamp on a table beside the couch, illuminating the both of you just enough, casting an orange glow on his face like that night at the campfire.
Oh and how you wish that feeling in your stomach – just like that night at the campfire – would leave.
You take a few steps back, standing awkwardly in your living room, letting him come in.
“How did it go? The walk with you mom,” you ask quietly. He nods, collecting his words and looking into the lamp.
“Good. She liked it. She liked you, I think.”
“What did she say?” you ask, now even more curious. She liked you.
“You seem like a sweet person. She’s used to other types of girls from me. She thinks you’d be good for me.” He laughs a bit at the end.
You fidget with your hands, not sure what to say. Usually he’s more cheery and talkative, finding topics for conversations, even if he just wants to talk about himself.
“So… friends, right?”, you say, even more quietly.
A smile forms on his lips, barely visible, “I don’t know. Do you like me? Because I like you.”
“I know you do. You like a lot of people though, so what’s it worth?”
His smile drops.
“If you’re not going to give me a chance, then at least a kiss to get over you?”
He steps closer, you stay put.
“You’re just trying to swoon me,” you say, trying to be stern but hearing that sentence out of your own mouth makes you smile a bit. He comes closer again and you want to step back, but looking at him makes you remember all the times he made your heart flutter. You think of all the times you looked at him and thought to yourself, if he kissed you now, you’d be his. You feel his warmth now, he leans in.
And you let it happen. And you kiss back. Gently. Tenderly. Slow.
One kiss, he said. But not how long it will last.
Eventually, you pull back, looking down.
“Are you over me now?” you ask, not sure what answer you’re hoping for.
“Are you kidding?” he laughs.
“So… this is serious, then?” you ask hesitantly.
He nods.

Imagine: Being Kendall’s Younger Sister And Comforting You Because You’re A Writer And People Were Talking Bad About Your Book.
Tumblr media
Feeling a lump in your throat, you stared down at the copy of your book staring on the counter in front of you. Writing had always been one of your passions, ever since you were younger. So, you were always writing some sort of story. Now that you were older, and ever since you and your family had moved into the Palmwoods you thought it was no better place than to attempt to start off your career. You began working on your book, and had come a very long way. You had given a few copy’s out for people to read before you considered going to a publisher. But some…unkind words bad spread about it. And now you felt extremely discouraged.
The apartment door swung open. You looked up to see your older brother, Kendall. Kendall looked to Katie. “Hey, baby sister.” Then looked over to you. “Other baby sister.” He nods.
You looked to him. “Hey…”
Right away, Kendall had sensed that something was bothering you. He looked to you, raising an eyebrow. “Y/N, are you okay?”
You let out a breath, shrugging your shoulders. “I’m…peachy.”
Kendall walked over to the counter, and noticed the book. “Hey, it’s your book.” He gave a smile, picking up the copy. “I’m still reading the copy you gave me, but..it’s so amazing. You’re so talented, baby sister.”
You looked down. “Glad you think so.”
Kendall frowned. “You don’t think it’s good?” He shakes his head.
“No, I do.” You said. “But… It seems the others don’t think so. They’ve been talking bad about it, saying it’s trash.”
Kendall stared. “Trash?” He shakes his head. “Trash? Your book is not trash, Y/N. It’s amazing. Writing something like that takes real talent.” He placed a hand on your shoulder. “Hey… Don’t listen to them, okay? You keep doing what you love. Don’t let them stop you from showing off your talent.”
You looked at Kendall, as he gently squeezed your shoulder. Which, seemed to relax you slightly. “Thanks.” You gave a half-heartfelt smile to him.

[ Kendall Knight ] A Week With Big Time Rush
"Congratulations you've earned a week with Big Time Rush!"
You've probably read that sentence 30 times by now. You looked from the letter to your little sister and back to the letter.
"Grace," You started, putting down the letter, "What.Did.You.Do?" Grace shrugged, as if it was nothing, "I thought it might be fun to fill out the quiz, didn't think I would actually win," You pinched the bridge of your nose, "What are you going to do now, there's no way mom is letting you go to Hollywood on your own,"
A wicked grin placed itself on her face, "I know, that's why you're going with me," "Oh, okay well then that's just fine," you replied sarcastically, "Except for the fact that I have college!" Again Grace shrugged, "Since most of their fans are teenage girls, it's during summer break," You sighed in defeat, no one won against your little sister. "Fine, only if mom agrees," you said, knowing full well your mom wouldn't agree.
"Sure you can go," Your mom said. You and your sister were sitting at the breakfast bar in your tiny San Francisco apartment, while your mom sat opposite of you eating a bowl of lucky charms. "What?!" You exclaimed, "So we can go to Hollywood, and spend a week with a group of strangers, but I can't live in dorms?" Your mom shrugged as a reply, "I've told you before, we can't afford a dormitory." You defeatedly stirred your cereal. I guess you're going to Hollywood, to meet Big Time Rush.
Sunday "I can't believe you dragged me into this..." You whispered to your sisters as a tall brunette showed you around, "You owe me a lifetime supply of chocolate eggs!"
Grace rolled her eyes, "Just shut up, and enjoy this!" she whisper shouted back. You gave her a mock offended face, since when did she start talking back? "You were so cute as a kid, what happened?" Before Grace could reply with a snarky remark, four guys walked into the lobby, immediately pulling all the attention to them.
On the right was a Hispanic guy with a black helmet on his head, next to him was a tall brunette who was frantically combing his hair, and after him came a tall blonde who seemed engulfed in a conversation with the raven-haired boy next to him.
A short black woman, that had earlier introduced herself as Kelly snapped her fingers as a way of getting the boys' attention.
"Boys, these are the fans you'll be spending the week with," She said, as she introduced you, "This is Grace and her older sister, [Y/N]," The boys immediately rushed forwards to introduce themselves, you quickly shielded yourself using your little sister, "I'm not the fan that won the quiz," you said quickly, "she is."
The boys turned their attention towards Grace, as Kelly told you about the coming week, "So, you get to spend a week here at the Palmwoods, in suite for two with you sister," She handed you a pair of keys, "You'll also need these passes to access Roque Records, as you'll be seeing the boys record their songs, and lastly backstage passes for the concert on Sunday." You took the supplies out of her hand, and thanked her. "Yeah, that sounds like so much fun!" Your sister exclaimed in a fake typical tween girl voice.
Oh god, this week was gonna be a disaster.

she wasn't late, but she wasn't exactly on time - not the time she usually got to the studio. did she care? not really. letting her keys twirl around her finger, she instantly regretted it when they flew off of her finger and fell between the bars of a rain drain. "son of a bitch," she whine, walking over to the drain and sighing. "hey, pennywise... i don't wanna float with you and georgie, but i'd appreciate a little help here... literally just picked that car up from the dealership three hours ago, i can't be that bitch that already lost the keys." but she was that bitch. it was very on brand for her.

CHAPTER TEN, big time demos
Tumblr media
Andi follows her mom out to the pool at Palm Woods where the boys are sitting. "Hey, guys." Kelly greets while Andi waves at them. "We just stopped by to drop off your tickets."
"Oh, hockey tickets?" Logan guessed.
James smiles. "Concert tickets?"
"No and no." Andi replies. She points at the plane tickets in her mom's hand. "Plane tickets."
"You guys do know that if you don't get picked by the record company tomorrow, you're going back to Minnesota." Kelly said to the boys and by their reactions Andi assumed they didn't know that.
The boys look at Andi and Kelly with a surprised and fearful expression. "What?!"
The boys had just finished the new song 'Want To Be Famous' written by Andi. They immediately rushed into the sound system room where Andi and Gustavo are at. "We don't want to go home," Kendall tells Gustavo. "We want to stay here…"
"And get famous." James added.
Kelly walks into the room, walking over to stand where Gustavo sat as Andi turns around in her chair to face the boys. "Yeah, about that…Too bad!" Gustavo yells. "It's been three months." Andi hands him the demo he reaches over for and Gustavo shows the boys the demo. "The demos are done." He does air quotations when he says the word 'deal'. "That was the 'deal'."
Andi couldn't believe it was already three months. It felt like yesterday they had just moved to LA. Time was moving by fast. Andi didn't want the boys to leave, especially not after she had been starting to have a crush on Kendall. Okay, yes, she admits it, she had a crush on Kendall Knight. It's hard not to. He's a great guy. And she really doesn't want him to go back to Minnesota. He's not the only one that is a great guy though. She had grown close to all the boys and they were her best friends. And she didn't want them to leave.
"Right…" Carlos nods and then furrows his eyebrows. "What are demos again?"
"They're the sample songs we've been recording that if the record company likes," Kelly responds. "Then you get to stay here, make a full album, go on tour, and then.."
"You become famous." Kelly sang.
Gustavo stands up. "But if they don't pick it, I take over my father's scooter business, and you go back to Minnesota and be nobodies again."
James lets out a small scream, looking at Gustavo with wide eyes along with the others. Kendall frowns. "But we've worked so hard. W-We're so close."
Gustavo shakes his head. "You're not so close."
Logan furrows his eyebrows. "We're almost there?"
Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly shake their heads. "Halfway there?" Carlos questioned.
Gustavo points at the boys. "You're almost halfway there. Now I'm going to go to my office. Please do not follow me."
The boys didn't listen to him. Instead they followed the three to Gustavo's office, opening the door just as Andi closed it. "How could Griffin not pick Big Time Rush?" James asks while Gustavo sits down at his desk. "He loves us."
"Griffin loves all the bands with demos, and there are six of them, but only one gets picked." Gustavo replied.
"Everyone is talking about Vampirah." Andi spoke, showing the boys Vampirah's demo she got off of Gustavo's desk. James took the demo from her and a panicked expression forms on his face.
"Vampire dudes with guitars." Logan read off the back of the demo. He frowns. "We're toast."
"Hey, hey, hey, we're not toast." Kendall reassures his friends. He looks at Carlos, James, and Logan. "What's the one thing we've learned since we've been in L.A?"
"That black is the new black." James replied.
"If you drink cold milk on a hot day, you die." Logan responded.
"That every time you leave your house, your toys come alive." Carlos answered. Andi looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, not knowing what he meant by that. Did his toys really come alive when he left his house? Or did he watch Toy Story too many times? She was thinking it was the latter.
Kendall shakes his head. "That if you don't wait for your dreams to happen. You make them happen." He looks at Gustavo. "Now, how does the winning band get picked?"
Gustavo stands up and angrily replies with, "That is a highly classified cooperate secret that no one will tell me, and it's killing me!"
"Guys," Kelly chimes in. "We want this as bad as you do, but all we know is that the winning band is picked by a top-secret advisor very close to Griffin."
Everyone looks over at the door when they hear laughter and are confused and surprised to see a blonde haired girl with expensive clothes on walk into the office. "Yeah, ew, I just entered this totally ugly office." The girl said to whoever she was talking to on the phone. "Hold on, I'm mini barfing."
Andi narrows her eyes at the girl as the blonde takes a seat in Gustavo's chair. "I'm here to pick up a CD from Big Time…Whatever."
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Gustavo exclaimed.
"Mercedes Griffin," Mercedes introduced herself and Andi's eyes grow wide. She wasn't expecting this girl to be Griffin's daughter. "As in your boss' daughter."
Mercedes raises her phone back to her ear. "I'll call you back, Jess. Livin' large here is about to start groveling." She hung up the call and Gustavo nervously laughed.
"Hey, ha ha, I am so, so sorry." Gustavo apologizes. Andi hands over the demo to Mercedes as Gustavo says, "Um, here is the demo."
"Uh, can I-can I get you a latte or a yacht?" Gustavo asked Mercedes.
Mercedes doesn't say anything as she takes the demo and stands up. She walks around the desk, standing in front of the boys when she notices them. "Is this the band? You guys are hot."
The boys smile at her. "Oh, and you're that secret someone whose close to Griffin who decides the winning demos." Carlos realized.
Mercedes nods. "That's right, I make the decisions, and I just decided that…" She waves her finger in front of the boys until she lands on Kendall. "You're my new boyfriend."
Andi's eyes grow wide at hearing that, the others having a shocked expression on their faces as well. Andi couldn't believe this. Did she say what she thought she did? This wasn't happening, was it? It had to be a joke. But she knew it wasn't as Mercedes pulled Kendall along with her.
"Let's go." Mercedes said to Kendall. Kendall looks at her with confusion and Mercedes grabs a fistful of his shirt, pulling him with her despite him struggling to stay.
"This is not right." James shakes his head with an upset look on his face. ""How could she pick Kendall over me?"
Andi, Carlos, and Logan looks at him with a glare. "That's what you're focusing on right now?" Andi asked him in an annoyed tone. She couldn't believe this was happening. It just had to be a dream or it was more like a nightmare. Any moment now she was going to wake up in her bed and none of this would have happened. Right?
Andi was wrong. It wasn't a nightmare, well, it felt like one, but she wasn't sleeping. She was now at the lobby of Palm Woods with the others, rushing over to Kendall who was carrying a lot of pool stuff for Mercedes and Andi honestly felt bad for him because all of that stuff looked heavy. She frowned, feeling bad for him. How could Mercedes treat him like that? It wasn't right. Mercedes didn't treat him like her boyfriend, she treated him more like a servant.
Andi and Logan help Kendall up after seeing that he fell on his knees. "Hey, big guy." Logan greets. "You're doing a great job."
"She's horrible." Kendall breathed out. He had a look of frustration and anger on his face and Andi couldn't blame him. She was frustrated and angry at Mercedes as well. No one should be treated like this, especially not Kendall.
"Yeah," Andi agrees. "We know." She looks at him sympathetically. "You're gonna get through this."
Carlos points at Kendall. "Exactly." He said, agreeing with Andi. "If she loves you then she'll pick our demos, and we get to stay in L.A. and we're almost halfway there."
James pulls out a hand mirror he brought with him, showing it in front of Kendall and then in front of himself a few times. "How could she pick you over me? Look at this."
Andi hits his shoulder, looking at him with a glare. "Dude, focus. We need to help him get through this. Stop being a diva." James pouted, rubbing his shoulder and he put the mirror away.
"Now, here's some subliminal imagery that will help her pick our demos." Logan put a hat on Kendall that read 'Pick Big Time Rush'.
"Ooh, and some breath spray just in case she wants to kiss you." Carlos said, spraying some breath spray in Kendall's mouth.
Kendall pulls away, his eyes widening as he looks at each of them. "Ack, I have to kiss her?!" He asked with a grimace look on his face. Andi hoped he didn't have to. Just the fact that he has to be Mercedes boyfriend made her feel a pang of jealousy and sadness.
"Wait!" Gustavo exclaimed.
"We can't let you do this." Kelly said to Kendall and he let out a sigh of relief.
"Not without the perfect mood music for your pool date with Mercedes." Gustavo raised up the stereo, placing the handle in Kendall's mouth. He pressed play on it and the first song the band recorded came on. Andi bit her lower lip, watching Kendall stumbles over to where Mercedes was at with worry. Words of encouragement were heard from the boys while Kendall walked over to Mercedes.
When Kendall was quiet, Mercedes sits up, looking at Kendall with wide eyes. "You hesitated." She turns off the music that was playing. "Maybe I'll hesitate to choose your demo as the winner. I heard Vampirah's amazing."
Andi and the others quickly rush over to them at hearing that. "You can't. Woah, woah, woah."
Carlos kneels beside where Mercedes sat. "Of course he loves you. I mean, who-who wouldn't love you…With your hair and your hands and that rat-dog thing?"
Mercedes smiles at him. "It's like you really know me." Mercedes looks at Kendall. "I'm breaking up with you." She looks back at Carlos. "You're my new boyfriend."
Standing up, Carlos looks at her with wide eyes. Mercedes stands up. "Now carry me out like they do in the movies." Carlos carries her bridal style as Mercedes looks back at Kendall. "Old boyfriend carry my stuff up later."
James groans. Carlos nervously laughed while carrying Mercedes inside.
The group was now hiding in the shower of the boys' apartment where Carlos was making cookies for Mercedes. The group, minus Carlos, we're hiding in the shower in the bathroom. Andi and Kendall we're in the back, Gustavo, Logan and James stood between Andi and Kendall and Kelly stood in the front of the others.
When the door to the bathroom opened and closed, Logan pushed the curtain of the shower open so he and the others could see that Carlos was covered in cookie dough. He also wore a chef hat and an apron that both read 'Pick Big Time Rush'.
From his place standing behind Andi, Kendall asked, "This looks weird, right?"
Carlos nods. Gustavo shrugs. "Who cares? Get back in there."
Carlos immediately shakes his head. "Okay, we're close to near to almost halfway there."
"Yeah, so get out there." Andi said, gesturing for Carlos to go back out.
Carlos shakes his head again. "I can't go back. She hurts me."
"Are you talking behind my back with people in the shower?" They hear Mercedes question.
"No…Apple blossom." Carlos nervously answered.
Everyone screams when the door is pushed open roughly and Carlos moves over to the shower the others stood in. Andi and Kendall had instinctively moved closer to each other and were now holding hands when the door was suddenly pushed open. Mercedes glares at Carlos. "You lied to me. We're finished. My new boyfriend is…Him." Mercedes pointed at Logan and smiled.
James looks at her with wide eyes. "Him? Do you not see this?" He asked her, gesturing to himself.
Mercedes ignores him and looks at Logan. "Let's go, new boyfriend." She holds the blue-green purse she had with her, looking at Logan with a smile. "We're gonna dye your hair to match my bag."
"No!" Logan cried out, putting a hand on his hair with a panicked expression on his face.
When Mercedes walks away, everyone looks at Logan. "So you gonna do the right thing?" Gustavo inquired.
"No…" Kendall answers. "I am." He hands Logan the loofa he had. "Hold my loofah."
It was then Andi and Kendall realized they were still holding hands and they quickly let go, their faces turning red as Andi stepped out of the way for Kendall to walk by. The group quickly rush out of the bathroom when they heard that Kendall said Logan is dumping Mercedes.
"What?!" Mercedes angrily exclaimed.
"What?!" The group exclaimed, looking at Kendall with wide eyes.
Kendall points at Mercedes. "Because you're spoiled, pushy, mean," As he speaks the others go over to stand behind him. Kendall points at Carlos and then himself. "He, me, and we would rather all go back to Minnesota than spend one more second pretending to be your boyfriend." He grins. "And, man, it felt so good to say that!" Andi couldn't help the small smile on her face as she looked at him. She was proud of him to stand up to Mercedes because she was so close to doing that herself. Plus it felt good to hear that he didn't like being Mercedes' boyfriend, meaning she could possibly have a chance. Wait, what? Why was she thinking about her liking Kendall? They were friends. Friends, Andi, get a grip.
"Well, let me tell you something." Mercedes angrily points at him. She then holds up their demo. "There is no way I'm picking your demos now. Big Time Rush is Big-Time done."
Everyone looks at her with shock and lets out a small scream when she throws the demo on the groan. They scream more when she broke it by stomping on it. Looking at them with one last glare Mercedes left the apartment.
Everyone groans and looks at Kendall who apologetically smiled. "So…What do we do now?" Carlos asked.
Kelly pulls out the stereo and Logan sighs, pressing play. Seconds later the beginning of the song Big Time Rush came on.
"Ah, ah, ah-ah, ohhh."
Andi, Gustavo, and Kelly are now in the boys' apartment, watching them pack their bags. Andi was really hoping that they wouldn't have to leave because they changed her life for the better. She wouldn't know what she would do without them. She didn't want them to leave.
"You guys can hold you head high." Kelly tries cheering the boys up. "Most bands don't even make it almost halfway there."
Gustavo walks over, carrying a tray of cookies while he ate one. "She's right. I am very, very proud of you guys."
"Appreciate that he said that." Looking at the boys, Andi points at Gustavo. "He doesn't say that to a lot of people."
"Ahhhh!" Gustavo suddenly yells, startling everyone. Gustavo looks at everyone with an apologetic expression. "I'm fine. Scooters!" Gustavo shouts. "No, I'm not." Kelly held the tray as he fell to the floor. Andi rolled her eyes at Gustavo's antics. Honestly, she had no idea why she worked for him. He was such a strange man, but she guessed that's what made things less boring. Plus the boys were fun to be around and it was never a dull moment when they were around.
"No," Mercedes shakes her head. "A chimp. And if he claps, you're in, but if he makes a fart noise, you're out." She starts crying again. "And sometimes I think that daddy loves Lo-Lo more than me."
This time Kendall is the one to comfort her. "There, there, Mercedes. It's okay. Don't cry." When Mercedes stops crying, Kendall asks her, "Now, do you have a security card to your dad's building?"
Kelly rolls her eyes. "Oh, please. What are you guys gonna do, chimpnap Lo-Lo and train him to to love Big Time Rush?"
"I was kidding!" Kelly exclaimed, looking at Lo-Lo with wide eyes. Carlos, Kendall, and Gustavo were wearing spy costumes while Andi and James were police officer costumes, and Logan had on an outfit some people in the Sahara desert wore.
Logan grins, gesturing to Lo-Lo who was on top of a table. "But the plan worked perfectly."
Once everyone got back in their original clothes, Andi, Gustavo, Kelly, and Mercedes got in the sound system room while the boys stayed in the recording studio with Lo-Lo. "Now, according to Pavlov, animals can be trained to associate positive feelings with certain stimuli." Logan states. "Such as sight, smells, and…"
"Big Time Rush demos." Kendall finished his sentence, holding up one of their demos.
Logan nods. "Exactly. We're gonna train Lo-Lo to pick the Big Time Rush demos through the positive reinforcement of…" He gestures to Carlos who gives him some bananas. "Bananas."
It worked at first, but then Lo-Lo picked up the bananas and started throwing them at the boys. Lo-Lo then ran out of the room. Mercedes nervously smiles. "Well, he either loved it or really hated it."
The group now sat in the hangout area outside of the recording studio. Andi sat on the arm of the couch beside where Kendall sat, Kelly sat on the arm of a chair where Gustavo is sitting, and Mercedes sat on a chair across from them. The boys were picking off the banana peels that were on them and Kelly was eating a banana.
Andi looks at Gustavo weirdly when he starts talking about scooters all of a sudden. "You know, the scooter is the sensible solution for today's high gas prices, and offers seniors increased mobility, and-Ahhh!" He let out a scream when he realized what he's doing.
Kendall stands up, facing the group with a determined expression. "You know, we are not giving up. We're almost halfway there, and another thing I've learned since coming to L.A. is that together, we can do anything."
Andi looks over with wide eyes with the others when Griffin walks over with his two assistants and Lo-Lo. "Look who I found hitchhiking on the Hollywood freeway."
Kendall sighs in defeat and sits back down. "Yeah, we're done."
"I am deeply disappointed in all of you, but I'm also curious. What happened?" Griffin inquired.
Everyone grew quiet, sharing nervous looks with each other. Mercedes is the one to stand up and confess. "It's my fault, daddy. I lied to them, and I made them be my boyfriends, and then I ate terrible cookies, and then I cried, and then I helped them chimpnap Lo-Lo, and…I love you."
Griffin looks at Gustavo with raised eyebrows. "Is that true? Because she lies…A lot."
Gustavo and Kelly then stand up. "It's all of our faults." Gustavo replied.
Kendall stands up, looking at Griffin. "We really want to stay here in L.A. and make an album…"
Carlos stands up. "And a tour."
"And be famous…" James added, standing up as well.
Logan stands up, looking at Griffin with an apologetic expression. "But we may have gone a little too far."
Andi nods in agreement and stands up while looking at Griffinn apologetically. "Way too far."
Kelly peeks out from standing behind Gustavo and apologizes. "Sorry."
"Those are a lot of sentences containing words, containing letters, and I admire your passion and dedication," Griffin tells them. "But it doesn't change the fact that Lo-Lo picks which demo wins."
Griffin looks at Lo-Lo. "So what's it's gonna be, Lo-Lo? Do you like Big Time Rush?"
Everyone looks at Lo-Lo with hopeful expressions and their hope is crushed when Lo-Lo makes a fart noise. "Ooh, the fart noise." Griffin said, looking back at the others. "Sorry, boys. Vampirah wins."
Mercedes quickly stands in front of her dad. "Lo-Lo's wrong, daddy. The Vampire fad has one, two years left, max." She gestures to Andi and the boys. "These guys' songs have infectious melodies, classic pop hooks, and Big Time Rush will crush the six to sixtern year old demographic which is your core music-buying base."
Griffin looks at her with surprise. "Wow." He looks at Lo-Lo. "Lo-Lo I'm transferring you to missile defense." He looks at Mercedes with a smile and wraps an arm around her. "Mercedes, you're my new hit-predicting adviser. This way we can spend more time together."
He looks at Andi, Gustavo, Kelly, and the boys with a smile. "Big Time Rush wins!"
Andi's eyes grow wide and she grins. She turns to the others and starts cheering with them. When the cheering dies down, Griffin looks at Mercedes. "Anything else for my princess?"
"Well," Mercedes looks at Logan with a smile. "I never really got a chance to date Logan."
Logan's eyes grow wide at hearing that. Griffin looks at Logan. "Logan, you're Mercedes' new boyfriend." Logan let out a small scream, moving to hide behind James.
Griffin looks at Andi, Gustavo, Kelly, and the boys. "Now get to work. We need some new songs for the Big Time Rush album."
Andi grins at hearing that and shares a grin with Gustavo. "We already got one." She admitted. They had already worked on writing a song throughout this process after getting inspired by what was going on.
Gustavo nods in agreement and gestures to the studio. "Move out!"
When the boys finished practicing Andi's song 'Halfway There' they were ready to perform it. Andi, Gustavo, Kelly, Mercedes, Griffin, and his two assistants are now in the sound system room, watching the boys preform the song.
After the boys were done performing, everyone cheered for them.
Andi sets down the check on Bitters' desk in the Palm Woods' lobby, standing next to her mom while the boys stand behind them. "We need to renew the lease for 2-J." Kelly said to Bitters.
Jennifer and Katie who were standing next to them looks at them with surprise. Carlos grins. "We're gonna make a full album."
Logan nods. "And probably a concert tour…"
"And be famous." James chimed in.
Andi then realized that Jennifer was wearing an assistant manager suit. Jennifer turns to Bitters, putting a plunger on the desk. "I quit, and I gave Buddha Bob the rest of the day off."
"What room?" Bitters asked with a disgusted expression on his face.
"3-B." Jennifer replies. "And it's bad."
When Bitters leave, Jennifer turns to the boys with a smile. "Well, I guess we're not going home."
"Actually, mom," Kendall glances around with a smile, his gaze lingering on Andi with a fond smile. "I think we are home."
Andi's heart flutters when he says that, and she can't help but smile back at him. She feels a warm feeling spreading through her chest, knowing that the boys consider the Palm Woods their home, and she's a part of that. It's a feeling of belonging that she cherishes deeply.
Everyone smiles at hearing that and Katie then points at the boys and Andi. "Race you to the pool."
Andi chuckled lightly and quickly ran to the pool along with the boys and Katie trying to get to the pool first.

“they’ve got to stop hiring all these deathly attractive guys just for them to shoot for one day and then leave.” his orbs scanning over the palmwood studio lot, his mind on everything other than reading over his script. “i’m trying really hard not to turn the couch in my dressing room into a welcome wagon but damn . . . “ he finished his statement with a grin and groaned to himself as a crowd of shirtless men strolled back him, his teeth tearing at his lower lip in an effort to keep his desires from taking him over. “you know i haven’t learned one scene of my script yet. i’m fully checked out right now. i need to be under a man like asap.” his eyes finally shifting over to the other and chuckling with a bit of embarrassment. “oh, sorry. i didn’t mean to just drop my sexual urges on you. what’s up? did you need me for something?”
