Tis only sketches today, one a little blue gremlin practice sketch while the other is my first ever PaperBall ship art!!

Soo here’s an ironic story for ya. See it all started many moons ago when Gumball still aired on CN and I was just a young teen at the time. See my brain tends to notice the minor details reading between the lines so with that In mind I had shipped Carrie with Gumball for so long due to those details among other reasons but like my brain did what it usually does and thinks and over analyzes things it thought oh what if and hear me out Teri x Gumball.

So I do what I usually do and do my research and unfortunately I came up with very little soo the ship just kinda just sat there stewing in my brain until recently over the years I was like “O My Stars I think I like Teri x Gumball more than I do Carrie!” Tho don’t misunderstand I still heavily enjoy Carball but ye!

Also to all the Teri X Gumball shippers out there could we all collectively use PaperBall instead of Terball thank you! ^~^)/)”

i think it starts by ryan just. giving in and trying to be nice to him no matter how assholey he is. like one game he just is like "good game man" and garys surprised cause "this guys meant to fuckin hate me what the hell" so he teases him and it keeps happening where ryans tryna bond with gary and garys not having any of it but slowly the teasing becomes less and less until garys actually talking to him like pals and even starts falling for the big ol idiot whos trying to be nice to him even when hes a bitch. oh and ryan already fell long ago but didnt fucking realize it

I don't think I've seen a write-up on various fairy-tale and Russian sayings references in the English translation, so I'd like to make one.

"Puddles make poor drinks" and "Gorkhon water will turn you into livestock": what's up with that?

There is a fairytale about a big sister and the little brother. They walk for a long time and the brother is very thirsty. His big sister keeps telling him to keep going and not to drink from the puddles, like a goat. Eventually the little brother drinks from the puddle.

And promptly turns into a goat.

Rest of the fairytale is about the big sister returning the little brother to his original form.

So, this is where the talks about puddles and water turning you into livestock is about.

The Akela joke did not work at all in the translation.

It comes from Mowgli, which is well known due to the USSR cartoon. In the book (and in the cartoon) the elderly wolf leader Akela misses during a hunt... after which he promptly is deposed as a leader of the pack. Mowgli loses his protection and this is a Big Deal.

So whenever a boss in real life makes a silly mistake (say, throwing a paperball into the bin and missing) everyone thinks it's very funny to say "Akela missed!" implying that they will get a new boss now and the current one will get deposed for this mistake.

Here "Akela never misses" means that Khan being at risk of infection and coming into the nutshell does not diminish his importance at all and his dogheads are just as loyal as before, happily delivering loot to him.

There is a saying: "Better a sparrow in hand, than a stork in the sky."

It means that you should treasure what you have, instead of preferring that which you can't get (so easily).

Lara Ravel references that she can't be happy with the little she has. She wants to help others and for this she needs more.

"Maybe I could be useful to you" is a classic thing that various animals say to people in fairytales, once they are caught and plead for their lives.

I think, this is a popular trope in English fairytales as well, but the phrasing here is lifted directly from fairytales in Russian, so pointing it out either way.

"Everyone's shirt is closer to their skin" is a well known Russian saying.

It means that your happiness and comfort is always more important to you than the comfort of other people. Hence: your shirt is closer to your skin, so you care about it more.

"Silence implies assent" is another popular saying (it even rhymes in Russian).

If someone proposes a course of action and no one speaks out against it or for it, then people usually say "silence is a sign of assent" and consider the matter settled. (Or, more often, people then suddenly say that they disagree and you get a more lively and productive conversation.)

I can't find another screenshot, but Dankovsky says something similar about "I wore down seven pairs of shoes getting to this town".

It obviously could be taken as a factual statement, but most likely it's a reference to fairytales.

In a lot of fairytales the protagonist will be given on a long journey seven pairs of iron boots. Once all of them break, the hero has reached his destination.

Same here: it's a fairytale way of saying that you had a long and arduous journey (or in Capella's case, ran around the whole town for years).

"I'll just peek with one eye" is another popular Russian phrase.

"Can I look?"

"No"

"How about if I look with just one eye?"

Obviously, it's nonsense, but it's a typical thing to say if you REALLY want to look at something, so you just say "pleeeease, I will just look only a little".

You're in class. It looks like your fourth grade class. Weird. Aren't you in your 20s? Somehow, your brain doesn't question why you're suddenly a child again. The teacher asks you to come to the board to answer a question. You stand up. A few of your classmates snicker as you do. Someone throws a paperball at you. You ignore them. You always ignore them. You grab the chalk, trying to ignore how much your hands are shaking. It's alright. It's Friday, after all. You'll have the weekend to feel better.

Roy never really dreamed often, when there were any types of dreams they were usually memories, nightmares and the fact that this was an actual school he had been in when he was in the fourth grade. He was used to being bullied as a kid.

This was nothing new, maybe it was another memory he had? He did remember this happening at one point. Oh, well. It was Friday and he was looking forward for the weekend.

He answered the question with ease and the classmates just snickered in the distance as he went back to his seat, doing his best to avoid any more paper balls that were being thrown his way.

Why did he dream of this? It wasn't a nightmare, but it wasn't really a good dream either. Just random memories he barely remembered, but enough to know it happened.

He listened to the Teacher before the last bell rang and now every kid was already out of the door leaving him alone. He didn't move though, he just looked around his surroundings. This place was familiar, but what caught his eyes was he now saw Maes Hughes as a young kid in front of him.

He blinked softly, not really sure why he was here. He didn't know Maes back then, but he's seen pictures of him as a kid, so that would only make the most sense as to why he saw him here.

"I'm Maes, what's your name?"

"Roy."

"Roy, it's nice to meet ya! Wanna play?"

"S-sure." He couldn't help the words that slipped passed his lips before the scene changes and they are both now eighteen again and then the next scene changes and they are both twenty nine, but...

Something wasn't right, he could see the look in Maes eyes, the fear, before he has a chance to stop anything, eyes widen in horror.

BANG!!

Blood seeping through his heart, Roy sees Maes standing there bleeding, horror in his eyes as he watches his best friend die before him.

"Why didn't you save me, Roy? Why didn't you answer in time?" His voice hoarse whispering those very fears Roy has as the world turns dark.

"HUGHES!"

Waking up in a cold sweat he pants, out of breath in his bed, his heart racing from what nightmare had just occurred. He should have known it was a nightmare, but one that he wasn't used to having.

Normally it was ALWAYS about Ishval or memories, technically this was memories about the night Hughes died, but still he wasn't sure what to expect at that point, but he tried to catch his breath as he sat up. He felt at fault so his guilt decided to mess with him, didn't it? That's what he realized once he was able to catch his breath.

He knew he would be lying awake for the rest of the night. That's what always happened when he had nightmares like this.

He would just lay there staring at the ceiling, wishing he could have saved him in time.

Amazing character 10/10 I totally buy the mafia boss vibe Sylus has got going on. Big problem tho, next person to give me orders so blatantly will get a bullet to the head, even if just to be a pain on his ass.

My personal rant about Sylus (not a hate to the game, a hate to how his psych profile clashes with mine) SPOILERS AHEAD

It's my issues okay. I'm well aware. But Sylus annoys me so much I hate blatant domineering people and I have no other choice than to annoy the ever loving FUCK out of them like a fucking cat.

Gaining Affinity points is like pulling teeth and the diamonds are the thing that motivates me. I see him being sweet and don't believe a single word. If I had the option I would throw him paperballs every time I saw him, just to show my blatant displeasure and disrespect.

It would not be wise. I would do it anyway.

If I was the MC I would 100% find a way to fight my way to a top ladder, get myself a reputation, gain my bargaining chips and set myself as his equal so he no longer has any hold over me, or at least make it so it's not wise for him to cross me either/it's wiser to keep me on his side.

When Phil (the Shopkeeper) told him MC probably felt disgusted by him Sylus looked SO indignant it was glorious, and when he said she had to accept him I outright cackled.

JUST LOOK AT THEIR FACES it made everything worth it truly
