50cm×50cmはあったかな、私にしては大きめな新作です。 原画に目を近づけないと切り絵であることは分かりづらいですが、切ってますよ。 こちら、現在開催中のきり絵展＠本・中川さんにも飾られています。

Here is a really interesting commission, Ilike to make this papercutout styled "lantern" art. Random actually commissioned me wanting a whole piece of his fursona pickpocketing a person ( I made the random person a bunny person ) He wanted the eye to be like this with a grin. It was rather fun to kinda figure it out since I tend to keep my digital art to a more square shape. :D! nonetheless, this was a blast. Thank you again I loved making this.

11.02.21 Typography [GDC]

We were looking at movement in typography last week in the GDC workshop. I was a bit stuck on what direction to move with in my design elective. Sharon suggested I work with paper cutouts, inspired by my research of the vibrant, playful illustrations of Annu Kilpeläinen. I have been thinking about my project so far, and linking ideas. I decided to work with the mermaids purse again. I  I felt the purse embodied a previous theme I touched on - the restrictive abortion laws which we were ruled by in Ireland - as mermaids purses are actually eggsacs of sharks and skates. I wanted to use a play on the word of ‘tide’ as the eggsacs are washed up on the shore by waves - and how women were tied up in guilt and shame in these situations, against their will. 

I did a couple of hasty sketches and colour charts and then did a mockup with paper (apologies for the terrible pritt-stick job and dog hair) 

My final illustration was done with coloured paper too, and touched up digitally on Krita.

Stage is set, lights are set, all systems set to go. Everything is all set to go for acclaimed electronic band Reverb and the Electrons to give a concert performance like no other. Or at least it would have, until one of the members of the band lost her instrument. Now it is a race against time for the electrons to find the lost instrument before their staged concert is set to begin. Starring Reverb and the Electrons in their first animated adventure; experience Electrapanic. After more than an year of production and hard work, my senior thesis animation is FINALLY complete. This year has definitely been one of hardship and challenges but I can finally add my finished thesis to a list of positive items for this year. Im so proud and humbled that I can finally share the electrons first animated adventure with all of you. Drawn in adobe illustrator, animated in paper cutout stop motion and then edited in adobe after effects, this film has definitely been a passion project for some time and I hope you all enjoy. Thank you again for watching and thank you to my friends and those who helped so dearly in the making of this film. ENJOY! And prepare to experience ELECTRAPANIC!

Custos Virginum, Familiarum Columen ! Sancte Joseph, ora pro nobis ! I was commissionned to do this artwork by a lady, who contacted me on Instagram. She was very kind to allow me to post this here for more people to see it. She explained to me, that she and her family received a lot of graces through the intercession of St Joseph, and that now she feels obligated to spread the piety towards The Pillar of Families. Depictions of Joseph in art history, although some magnificent in execution, seemed to me a bit mundane. They were usually just images of an elderly person, draped in cloth and holding a lilly. None of these elements made him really distinct from the depictions of thousands of other saints and prophets. There is probably some wisdom in it. I though it would be fitting though to depict Joseph in a different way, but still grounded in classical iconography. I though of Platytera, which is a typical depiction of Mary, holding her hands up in the orant pose and wearing a big medallion, with Jesus on it. In that image, Mary becomes a canvas, on which revealed to us is the image of Christ.
