Actress Park Gyuyoung from the Netflix original series 'Sweet Home' shared her thoughts on the positive reception of her romance with Kim Namhee in the drama.

During a video interview conducted on the morning of the 4th, Park Gyuyoung said, "I spent the most time on set with senior (Kim) Namhee. I had no idea our romance would be so well-loved."

She continued, "That's why I had a lot of concerns, and we had many discussions about how to portray our relationship. It was really fun on set. Since the response has been good, I feel happy about it" and added, "I thought the romance between Jisoo and Jaeheon was more about the camaraderie and fellowship arising from the situation rather than 'I love you so much.' It's something that seeped in because we were always together. I thought it would be well expressed if we could bring out that aspect."

Recently, her graduation photo from Yonsei University has been a hot topic in online communities. "It's not to that extent. I'm grateful for such a response." was her response to the netizens' reactions calling her a "brainy beauty." Park continued, "I'm really proud of myself for graduating while working. This semester, I received one A+ and one A0. I'm thankful. I'll work hard not to disappoint."

She also mentioned, "I wasn't dreaming of becoming an actress initially. I stumbled upon acting by chance and have been doing it ever since. I want to do well. Acting is really hard. Going forward, I've been thinking about how great it would be if 'I, as an actress, could give positive energy.'"

She also shared her feelings about the global popularity of the series. "It still feels surreal to the point of being stunned." She continued, "It doesn't feel real yet. I'm grateful that Korean culture is being loved worldwide."

Regarding Season 2, which has not yet been confirmed but is highly anticipated, she said, "I imagine showing a stronger version of myself in Season 2. I do want to become a character with stronger survival instincts and who fights more."

'Sweet Home' is a Netflix original series that tells the bizarre and shocking story of a reclusive high school student, Hyunsu, who loses his family and moves to a new apartment. It is based on the webtoon of the same name, which began serialization in October 2017 and concluded in July 2020. Directed by Lee Eungbok, who has worked on 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'Goblin,' and 'Descendants of the Sun,' this is his first project presented through Netflix. The series features a cast including Song Kang, Lee Jinwook, Lee Siyoung, Lee Dohyun, Kim Namhee, Go Minsi, Park Gyuyoung, Go Younjung, Kim Gapsoo, and Kim Sangho.

Park Gyuyoung's character, Yoon Jisoo, hides a sad past while outwardly being more spirited and straightforward than anyone. She faces monsters with charisma and shows a tender, sisterly affection towards Cha Hyunsu (Song Kang), who has lost his family, making her a multifaceted character.

'Sweet Home' has been available globally through Netflix since the 18th.

💬 Digital Chosun Ilbo: Park Heeson's Interview for The Bequeathed

Park Heesoon stated, "After gangsters, the most frequent character I've portrayed is a detective." This reflects his extensive experience in playing a variety of detective roles and his familiarity with creating distinct characters.

In the Netflix series 'The Bequeathed,' he plays Seongjun, a detective with outstanding intuition and capabilities. He senses that a series of murders are connected to 'The Bequeathed' and unravels the clues, guiding the viewers to the truth. Seongjun is a crucial character within 'The Bequeathed,' and Park Heesoon prepared meticulously for this role, effectively serving as a guide for the audience.

On the 23rd of last month, a meeting took place with Park Heesoon in a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss 'The Bequeathed.' The drama unfolds a story of ominous events and secrets revealed following the inheritance of a forgotten family burial ground after the death of a distant uncle.

During the meeting, Park Heesoon shared his preparation process for 'The Bequeathed.' He mentioned, "I thought this role should be approached from the viewers' perspective. I saw the character as a guide for the audience," adding, "I prepared to be a guide, helping viewers advance step by step to resolve their curiosities. Since Seongjun has a rich narrative, I couldn't ignore it. While maintaining the narrative, I needed to investigate objectively without being swayed by emotions, to properly guide the viewers."

'Seongjun' always has a habit of taking photos of crime scenes with his smartphone and does not forget to record moments related to investigations. This is to revisit minor details that are hard for the brain to remember. Through this process, he often finds crucial hints for the case. Park Heesoon proposed this meticulous aspect of Seongjun's character himself, aiming to create a distinctive feature.

"I thought about what could differentiate me as a detective in investigating this case. This character's main task was particularly to inquire about suspects or people around them. Although he's a country detective, it seemed necessary to have a differentiator to appear competent compared to other detectives. That's why I opted for the smartphone setting. Taking photos is almost common among detectives, but I wanted to add detail in recording and writing notes or case records. Thus, I requested to use the same model of phone that I actually use. I actively used the phone for writing and taking notes, tailored to my hand."

During his first meeting with Yeon Sangho, the screenwriter of 'The Bequeathed,' Park Heesoon actively proposed ideas for his character, Seongjun. He suggested changes related to a storyline involving staff reductions and scenes that would reveal the relationship between his character and Sangmin (played by Park Byeongeun), drawing from his extensive experience in detective roles.

"The script initially included a reduction in personnel, and Seongjun was among those to be cut. However, after reading it, I couldn't understand why the most competent detective would be reduced due to past events. I thought it would make more sense for Sangmin to be the one reduced, and for me, feeling guilty, to help solve the case, which would clearly define our relationship. There was also a scene involving a briefing related to the investigation that Seongjun was supposed to conduct. I suggested changing it so that Seongjun would give the report to Sangmin, who would then conduct the briefing. I believed that assigning the dialogue and scene to Sangmin would dramatically show Seongjun's role as a silent supporter."

"It was our first meeting, before anything was finalized. As someone who has played many detective roles, I said, 'I think it would be good to have such differentiators, what do you think? I need to agree with these ideas before I can make a decision to participate.' Director Yeon agreed that it was a good idea and returned with a revised script in two weeks, which was significantly improved. Not only my role but the overall script was better, so I decided to join, sending praise to Yeon Sangho's 'Yeoniverse.'"

Despite the dark themes and heavy narrative of Seongjun in 'The Bequeathed,' the atmosphere on set was light for Park Heesoon. He had a prompt reunion with Kim Hyunjoo, whom he had worked with previously in 'Trolley,' and for the first time, got to showcase his collaboration with Park Byeongeun, someone he had known for a while. He described this as a new experience in itself.

"I wasn't joking when I said at the press conference that it seemed like I was cast as a package deal with actress Kim Hyunjoo. It's rare to work back-to-back with the same actor, and through this work, I once again realized what a great actor she is. Many people know she's a good actor, but she's more flexible and considerate than expected, with the ability to draw out the best, and she has acting skills too. I think a reevaluation of this actor is urgently needed. Director Yeon Sangho seems to have her almost exclusively, but she should be allowed to work with other directors as well. I hope more people come to recognize this great actor."

"Park Byeongeun is someone I've known for a while, but this was our first time working together on a project. The reason I like him is very humorous. He's a fun and good friend, but when it comes to work, he has a professional consciousness and his own interpretation. It was refreshing to see him actively and seriously prepare for the work without his usual humour."

Through Seongjun, Park Heesoon portrayed a different kind of detective than he had before. Even if roles may seem similar at a glance, how an actor builds a character varies with each project. "I've played corrupt detectives, active detectives, and those burning with justice, but this might be the first time playing a faithful detective so immersed in life," he said. "Seongjun might seem like a cool role, but also a pitiful one. It was a character that could show such complex aspects, which made it attractive," he expressed his satisfaction.

However, he candidly shared his desire to take a break from detective roles. When asked about his goals for the year, Park Heesoon said, "If you ask about goals, what else is there but acting? I also want to break away from the image. Anything but a detective or gangster would be good," he said with a laugh.

joker saw you on league of streets before, for sure. he knew that you were from hummingbird crew and the fact that sangho choi had a request to sabbath to deal somehow with your crew.

he never liked that idea tho, in the first place because hummingbird had you and shelly, and joker could never compete with girls, it seemed unfair and unnatural for him.

but when he saw you leaving the changing room right after incident with missing drug from that guy in red glasses, and you clearly heard their conversation, wooin immediately bellowed to catch you and joker grabbed you by wrist and pulled your hand on the level of his eyes. that red glasses pice of shit immediately screamed that it was your team that stole "something" from him. your hart, in turn, has already sunk into your heels, and soul has left your body, a bunch of suspicious-looking guys were ready to tear you apart because of someones lost thing, while you and your team just tried to win cycling competition. joker didn’t immediately realize with what force he was squeezing your wrist, and when he looked from wooin to you, he felt as if his heart was pinched. he, being a huge guy, squeezed your hand so hard that there would definitely be a bruise... "a girl's hand.. so small" - he thought to himself and relaxed his grip on you. joker didn’t like to mess with girls. especially with someone nice like you. he clearly catched himself on the idea that he doesn’t like your scared face turned to him. one your still free hand started to pounding on his elbow and forearm demanding to let you go.

when wooin learned that that guy had no proofs that it was you or your team he was furious, and joker just knew that this guy is no longer safe. he actually didn’t care. the only fact that he cared, when he made sure everyone had left the room and discovered that he was right, there was indeed a bruise on your wrist. he was ashamed, really ashamed, to offend a girl who, in addition, had done nothing wrong.

you were sitting on the floor, leaning on the boxes, when you saw that white haired guy squatted down in front of you and held out his hand. "what does this thug need??" - your thoughts were spinning in your head, and you felt bad that you refused dom’s company to pick up your stuff from changing rooms.

worried, you rushed to the nearest store and bought water to wash the wounds and to apply that ointment that he brought you.

he didn't make a sound when you moistened a piece of screw, washed his wounds and applied ointment, sealed it with plasters, and as soon as you finished, joker thanked you.

you spent about 30 minutes more in each other company and he walked you to your house.

that night you received a “good night” text from him.

after that, your correspondence became more regular, as well as meetings.

and you both agreed not to share that information with your teams. you simply knew that dom will want to fight with joker because of the fact that he hurt you in first place and joker said that it is better not to let wooin know about him hanging out with “rival crew” member.

This for sure seems like people who have set up this race and are expecting a certain amount of profit through viewership and betting and in order to protect certain teams they illegally sabatoge others. Also Sangho always looks so pissed watching the race like bruh? Find something else to do??
