When your office for the day (and night in this case) is Yosemite Valley... it's a pretty darn good day (and a pretty good gig too!). Here the Milky Way marks a path up and over El Capitan. Other notable celestial objects in this view include the constellations Perseus & Cassiopeia as well as Andromeda galaxy. Did see a few Geminids - probably somewhere around a dozen or more during the night. The National Park Service wants to try and find out. The NPS posted a message on Instagram asking which of the locations has the “best park stars” in the country, fittingly calling it #ParkStarWars. The message asked for people and the individual National Parks Instagram accounts to tag their own photos showing off incredible star scenes.

The super moon here floats above the top of El Capitan just five minutes after first peeking out from behind the granite monolith.
