It started when you woke up with a slight sniffle, your forehead warm to the touch, but you brushed it off, claiming it was nothing. He wasn’t buying it.

“You’re sick,” Pedro stated firmly, arms crossed as he leaned against the kitchen counter.

“I’m fine,” you replied, waving a dismissive hand as you sipped on some lukewarm tea.

Pedro narrowed his eyes. “You’re literally sweating and shivering at the same time. That’s not fine, sweetheart.”

You rolled your eyes, attempting to stand up and make your way to the couch, but the moment you did, your vision blurred, and you wobbled slightly. Pedro was by your side in an instant, steady hands on your waist.

“See? Not fine,” he murmured, his brows knitting together in concern.

You sighed, leaning into him just a little, your body betraying you. “Okay… maybe a tiny bit not fine.”

Pedro let out a soft chuckle and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “C’mon, let’s get you back to bed.”

You groaned. “Nooo, I wanna be on the couch. I’ll be bored in bed.”

“You’ll be bored wherever you are because you feel like shit,” he pointed out. “At least let me make you something to eat.”

That made you perk up, but not for the reason he’d hoped. “Oh no,” you said, deadpan. “Pedro, last time you ‘cooked,’ you almost set the kitchen on fire.”

Pedro scoffed, placing a hand on his chest in mock offense. “That was one time.”

“It was last week.”

“Details,” he muttered, guiding you toward the couch anyway. “Now, sit. I’m making you soup.”

You opened your mouth to protest but gave up. Your body was too exhausted to argue, and honestly, the thought of him fussing over you was kind of sweet.

From your spot on the couch, you watched as Pedro banged around in the kitchen, muttering to himself. He read the back of the soup can like it held ancient secrets, turned the stove on with the careful precision of a bomb expert, and nearly dropped the pot twice. You couldn’t help but laugh, weak as it was.

“This is very stressful,” he called out. “How do people just… cook?”

“Some would argue that soup from a can isn’t really cooking.”

Pedro shot you a playful glare before dramatically stirring the contents of the pot. “You’re lucky I love you,” he grumbled.

You smiled, watching him struggle but knowing his heart was in the right place. “I know.”

Eventually, after a few more mishaps (including but not limited to nearly adding sugar instead of salt), Pedro approached you with a steaming bowl of soup. He sat beside you, carefully blowing on a spoonful before holding it up to your lips.

“Alright, open up,” he instructed.

You quirked an eyebrow. “Pedro, I can feed myself.”

“Oh, I know,” he said with a smirk. “But I’m already in caretaker mode. Let me have this.”

You sighed dramatically before obliging, letting him feed you. The soup was… well, edible. Barely. But the way he was looking at you, all warm brown eyes and soft smiles, made it taste a little better.

After a few spoonfuls, you leaned back against him, exhaustion creeping in. Pedro immediately wrapped his arms around you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.

“You know,” he murmured against your hair, “I hate seeing you sick.”

You nestled closer, feeling the warmth of his body against yours. “I know. But you taking care of me almost makes it worth it.”

Pedro chuckled, his chest vibrating against your back. “Almost?”

You hummed sleepily. “If the soup was better, maybe.”

“Rude,” he whispered, kissing your temple. “Go to sleep, troublemaker.”

You closed your eyes, a small smile tugging at your lips. With Pedro holding you, whispering soft reassurances, you let yourself drift off, knowing you were in the best hands.

FIFA unveils Technical Study Group for FIFA Club World Cup 2025™

Group to be led by FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger

Team of experts to share in-depth insights from across all 63 tournament matches

Panel is responsible for selecting winners of FIFA awards

FIFA today unveiled the Technical Study Group (TSG) that will provide cutting-edge analysis of all matches across the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ while increasing and developing understanding of the game worldwide.

Headed by FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger, the TSG line-up features Esteban Cambiasso (Argentina), Aliou Cissé (Senegal), Tobin Heath (USA), Jürgen Klinsmann (Germany), Roberto Martínez (Spain), Gilberto Silva (Brazil) and TSG lead Pascal Zuberbühler (Switzerland).

The role of the FIFA TSG – an expert panel comprising national-team coaches and former players – is to observe matches, pinpoint tactical trends and innovations, and illustrate them using insights and data provided by the FIFA Football Performance Insights team.

The trends that it identifies are published on the FIFA Training Centre, where they are accessible to all free of charge. In addition, the TSG is responsible for selecting individual award winners and the team awarded the fair play prize at FIFA tournaments.

The TSG members’ expertise enables them to highlight and analyse the technical trends encountered at a tournament with great accuracy.

Besides analysing the on-pitch action, the TSG studies trends and benchmarks for the future of the game and their impact on coach education and talent development. The group poses questions such as: how is football evolving? What are the trends moving forward? What are the key elements involved in the game? Statistical analysis enables teams to delve deeper into what they see with their eyes alone and backs up those impressions with metrics and numbers to help them to analyse the opposition and themselves.

“We have brought together a group of experts from diverse cultures and various places in the world who have great experience and real expertise,” said Wenger. “We want to describe, analyse and interpret what is happening on the pitch with a view to inspiring technical experts and football fans in general. We will not only be collecting more data than before, but we will also be aiming to strike the right balance between technical expertise and data. Chris was kidnapped for ransom when he was 16, while his father forced him to go to the store to get some food for the family. His father wasn't even going to pay the kidnappers the ransom money, since he is very greedy and he thinks its punishment for being bisexual... He was found a couple of weeks later, traumatized and scared of the dark.

Backstory

Martin and Chris were both brothers in the Kratt Family, with their parents names being Linda and William Kratt and they have twin young sisters, named Christine and Susan, who were 18. Their parents got into a divorce, when Linda found out William cheated on her, and the siblings got to choose where to stay, where Susan and the brothers chose to stay with their mother in Canada.

Chris's relationship with his parents is half good and bad, good is his mother, who loves him, cares for him, and even supported him when he came out as bisexual, however, his father is distant, cruel to both brothers, tries to force sexism and his business job into them, and homophobic, where he outright hates Chris for being bisexual, making Chris heartbroken, as he was a daddy's boy.

Martin's relationship was like Chris's, only with him being a mama's boy and he despised his father, when he was 19 years old and Chris went missing. After he found out his dad literally sent Chris to he captured and wasn't going to pay his brothers freedom, he let out all of his anger and went feral, to the point he left his father bruised, bloody, and scared. He hated him ever since, and never even went into contact with him after he took Wild Kratt's idea and made it real.

The brothers love for the sisters is like the parents, where the two love Susan, who adores them, and sees Martin as a father figure, and supports Chris, even buying him a pride flag. However, they don't like Christine that much, since she's a total daddy's girl, where Martin felt bad for Christine for liking the man, and Chris is jealous of Christine for her getting the love while he can't.

Martin wanted to save animals when he was young, after watching an animal show, where there are bad people who take good and wonderful creatures and hurt them for their own selfish needs, so he vows to save any animals, be it pets, birds, rodents, even some insects. His father thinks it's dumb, while most people don't like Martin saving any animals, but his mother, sister, and Chris supports this idea, even with Chris joining in, and that actually helps Martin out to save many animals.

Martin got the idea to save animals around the world, but was hesitant to hire Chris, who begged and was excited to join, because he heard he'll have to face people who tries to hurt these sweet animals, and he's worried his brother would be hurt, but after thinking about it, and some reassurance and excitement from Chris, he, reluctantly, agreed, and thus! The Kratt Brothers created the Wild Kratts Show!

Backstory

Aviva has a mother, named Imelda, sister, named Tia, step father, named Eduardo, and step brother, named Roman. She has a father, named Carlos, who was an inventor and shown Aviva his greatest invention, even making suits for people whenever he needs. But he died, when she was 3 and her sister was 2, from a car crash, she missed him deeply, to the point she wanted to follow his footsteps of being an inventor.

She loves her mom and sister dearly, while they love and care for her, even supporting her dreams of being an inventor. She doesn't like her step dad and brother, however, as they're sexist jerks, trying to make Aviva give up on her dream, even setting her up with her ex. She hates them, but used their rudeness and sexist remarks as fuel for her determination, as she began to go to college and get a job at the Wild Kratts.

Koki used to date a couple of girls in college, it didn't end well, as the first girl was straight and pretended to date Koki for a place to stay, while cheating on Koki with a guy she was with before. The second relationship was a bet-like relationship, like the person bet they can date that person for a while. Well Koki began to close off on love in general, until she met Aviva and began to fall for her.

Martin did confess his feelings for Koki, but she rejected him for two reasons, her sexuality and her struggle with love. Martin can relate and offer to help her find love, so when he finds out she likes Aviva, he mostly helps her out by either getting them to hang out together or even leaving gifts for Aviva, as Koki gave him an ok to do so.

Backstory

Like I said, she was abused by her alcoholic mother, named Brianna, who was in a divorce with her father, named Axel, who has another family with a mom, Michonne, with 2 sons and a daughter, 21 year old named Marion, 18 year old named Julian, and a 17 year old named Becca, she has a twin brother, but they got separated, due to him being sold away to another family, since her mother don't want to deal with two kids, sadly, Koki never got the chance to find him. Koki hated staying with her mom, even changing her name to Koki, since she was named after her mother, so she goes by the name her father wanted to name her instead of her mother, which was his mother's name, Koki.

After she moved out of her mom's when she was 4, she bonded with her new family. Michonne treats her like a daughter and Koki adores her like a mother, while her siblings bond with her like siblings. She was intrigued by her father's tech skills, and he taught her how to do it, since the others don't seem interested in it. After she went to college and went to join the Kratts, the family supported her, meanwhile she cut off her mother for good.

Backstory

Out of the group, JZ has the calmest backstory here, though it did start with tragedy. He had two loving parents back then, until they died in a car accident on a stormy night, as a thunder struck onto a tree and it fell, crushing the car the family was in. People got JZ out, but his parents died, when the car, immediately, exploded with the two. JZ was horrified by storms since then, as he lost his parents from it.

JZ has to move in with his grandparents, who adore and care for him. His grandmother, Wanda, began to teach him how to cook, knit, and crochet, it helps him feel relaxed and happy to spend time with her. His grandpa, Connor, told him the story of how he used to fly a plane, where JZ was inspired and began to try to save the money to go to flying school.

His grandparents did die tragically, but JZ has nowhere else to go, so he had to stay at the shelter, until he met up with Chris again, who offered him a place to stay, which was the Tortuga, and the group is finally made!

Episode 8: Last Day for Two (Part 1)

The next morning, breakfast was accompanied by one of the family's older ghosts, Victor Grusel. At least more or less. “And you're sure you'll find your mother, my dearest?“/”I'm not sure, but I'll try everything…“/”We used to have many scientists, but no one who dared to venture into such spheres. I wish you every success“/”Thank you, great-grandfather”…

After breakfast, Cassandra went upstairs to change her clothes. “Oh, you've made yourself pretty, Cassandra. But surely not for the desert? I don't want to know how hot it is there"/ ”No, I want to go straight to Don's, he's off again today. I'll definitely pick something else for Strangetown"/ ” mhm. Then make the most of today"/.

“Thanks, I will. And try to get out a bit too“/” well, I wanted to get some new oil paints anyway,…"/,,See, that's a good reason to stretch your legs outside. I'll be back here tomorrow morning"/ ‘Oh… I see. See you tomorrow then’. Cassandra deliberately wanted to spend the last few hours together with Don. Due to work, there was always little time to really spend the day together. Today was going to be different.

A little later. Don opened the door with a big grin. “Hey, wow, you look great“/”hn-hn, and you too, actually, as always grin. Can I come in?“/”Yes, sure. Have you had breakfast yet?“/”Yes, not even an hour ago”. He took both her hands and looked into her eyes. Then he kissed her and slowly pulled her into the house.

He closed the door once they were inside and go on with it. He kissed her passionately, which she was only too happy to accept. He pressed her tightly against him again and kissed her neck, then returned to her lips. “oh, D-Don, don't make me so weak“/,,you just taste so good, Cassy, hhh, there's nothing I'd rather do right now than taste everything of you”.

“I'm sorry, Don, you know I want nothing more than you right now. But I can't…” Her voice trembled a little. “What was the old witch thinking? I'm allowed to kiss you, but not sleep with you?“/”It's about the act itself, Don…And…we'll probably have to wait a little longer now, I have to go away for a few days“/”what? where?“/”Strangetown, a few colleagues asked me to come there because of my mother”.

“You have to go to another city because of your mom?"/ ”It's about all the equipment that's supposed to help me find her. Don. Everything is already different between us anyway… I understand that you're sleeping with other women just because you… can't wait until I'm ready for you. But I love you…”. Don paused for a moment. Then he looked at her and realized how important the whole thing was to her now. “And you love your mother. So take care of that first, okay?"/ ‘And you're not angry…?’…

“No…why should I be mad? Because I'm horny as my neighbor's dog and my fiancée is under a curse and I'm not allowed to sleep with her? It's damn unfair, yes. If I didn't want you, I would have broken up with you long ago, wouldn't I? Besides… I feel partly responsible for your mother being gone. I shouldn't have called her here so late, then maybe she wouldn't have disappeared"/ ‘Oh Don’…

“We are a strange couple. I let you sleep with other women just because I'm not free and only a wedding can redeem me“/”what do you actually do when you get this craving for another body?“/”I… I do what anyone else do in this situation“/”mmh. O.k…. When do you have to leave?“/”Tomorrow”.

“And how long will it take?“/”That depends on whether and how quickly mom can be found“/. “And the boys are Experts?“/”Yes, quite good ones and Polli too“/”who is she?“/”thihi, no “she”, Pollination is an alien who has been living there for many years.“/”uh, a real alien?“/”mhm, do you want to come and see it, hn?“/”no, I'm needed here, you know that. “And do you have accommodation there?"/ ”The boys have a guest room in their house, I can sleep there. Pascal has a son"/ ‘and they're all married or what?’/ ‘No, not as far as I know. hey, is this going to be an interrogation? don't worry, I have to be abstinent anyway, huh?’/ ”Hehe. If I sleep with other women, you can flirt with other men too.” She rolled her eyes. “Oh please, I don't think I'll get around to it there"/ ,,hnhn. And now?” he asked her with a slightly challenging look.

“Well, I don't have to go to the institute today and you don't have to go to the clinic. Either we make ourselves comfortable here with a few movies, or we avoid any atmosphere that could lead to… Sexual desire and get me into trouble. We could go swimming instead“/”you in a swimsuit, or worse, bikini…hmm“/”hmm…let's just go out, shall we?” He smiled, kissed her again. “Alright, I'll take you wherever you want”.

WIP: The Gender of Sound

Sorry y'all I've been uploading a lot recently. I'm just feeling kind of aimless, and this helps. I finished re-reading Pedro Pascal's recommendation, "The Gender of Sound" by Anne Carson, and as a vocal instructor, I can tell you it is an absolute masterpiece. Carson is an expert on Greek/Roman mythology and linguistics, as well as societal and cultural observation. Pedge says he wants to write an RPF encouraging the use of more sexy-time female expression! But I'm a little embarrassed and might want to utilize Mr. Ben or Reed Richards for something so....academic. What do you think?

SEASON ONE RECAP

e1- When You’re Lost In The Darkness - We open to the beginning of the outbreak and a heartbreaking scene of Pedro Pascal, or Joel, losing his daughter, Sarah. 20 years later in 2023 we are living in a dystopian future (as if we aren’t living in one in real life now but I digress). We also meet Veronica, she is being held by some sort of rebellion group. Joel needed a car battery and he was trying to get out to go somewhere but his business partner (Robert) sold the battery to someone else. We get a lot of exposition and then we find out that Veronica is really Ellie and she has a very special purpose which is why the rebellion (The Fireflies) wants her. Joel and his partner Tess venture into the backrooms and find out that the car battery was sold to the rebellion. They agree to help bring Ellie to a predetermined destination for the rebellion because they need someone who can get the job done and that's Joel! Ellie has a mouth on her, by the way. While trying to escape they get caught but Joel has flashbacks to when his daughter dies so he beats the hell out of the cop. They escape but find out that maybe Ellie has been exposed to the fungal infection but it hasn't taken her over? More on that next episode!

e2- Infected - An expert on fungus tells us it's too late, as soon as the cordyceps start to spread, in a flashback scene. Joel is not a fan of Ellie because he is sure that she is probably going to turn but Ellie says she probably won't and Tess is kinda cool with Ellie so Joel cools out on her. They find out why Ellie is so important, the Fireflies think that whatever makes Ellie immune can help them find a cure so that's why Joel and Tess are taking her to their camp. They make their way through the disaster-strewn land. Ellie asks Joel questions about life. We learn that the spores are all connected deep underground so if you touch some somewhere it awakes some somewhere else which is very scary. They get to the drop off point but all of the rebellion folk are dead so there is no one there to receive Ellie. Tess is devastated and we find out she has been bitten so she ends up staying behind when the hoard comes and blows up the building to save Joel and Ellie. Thank you, Tess, we love you.

e3 - Long, Long Time - Ellie learns more about the horrors that happened as the world began to fall apart. Flashback, we watch Nick Offerman surviving the apocalypse in style. He meets a strange man who needs his help and Mr. Offerman offers it gruffly. While afraid at first, this story turns into one of the most beautiful love stories of our time, this strange man, Frank, having found a home with Nick Offerman's character Bill. It starts out slow, dinner, music, a kiss, then we cut to them living together for a few years. We see them grow together. We see them meet up with Joel and Tess way back when and start a trade alliance. We see them eat strawberries and giggle together. It is really a beautiful thing. Then we watch them endure a firefight, that is rough, it almost seems like Bill won’t make it but we cut to a time very near “now,” where Frank is suffering from what appears to be MS and Bill is caring for him best he can. It comes time when Frank decides that this day will be his final day, he and Bill will be married and make the best of it, but at the end of the day Frank will go to sleep and never wake up. This is what he wants. Bill obliges his love to the very end with one change of plans, Bill is coming with Frank. By the time Joel and Ellie get there, Bill and Frank have been long dead. A note has been left for Joel, Bill assumed he would be stopping by at some point, and all the supplies there are up for grabs. Joel lays out ground rules for Ellie, they pack up the truck, and drive towards Wyoming where Joel has a brother in trouble but might know some Fireflies they can give Ellie to.

e4 - Please Hold My Hand - Joel and Ellie are making their way to Wyoming but they need to camp in the woods. Ellie tells Joel pun jokes he isn't a fan of. They get stuck in a city where they get ambushed and Ellie ends up using the gun she stole from e3 to shoot a guy to help Joel. Joel ends up killing the guy Ellie shot but it was still very emotional for Ellie. We meet Kathleen (aka Shauna from the Yellowjackets) and her faction. Kathleen is looking for a man named Henry. When the people from this faction bring the dead bodies that Joel killed back, Kathleen blames it all on Henry. Joel and Ellie have a nice heart to heart about her shooting the gun and we find out it wasn't her first time hurting someone. Joel asks her to talk more about it but she declines to share further at this time. Joel and Ellie scale as high as they can get in a skyscraper so they can get a good view of the city but also have a safe place to sleep for the night. Ellie shares a joke that makes Joel laugh! But at the end they are being held up by a grown man and a little boy with a gun! Oh, no!

e5  Endure and Survive - Kathleen gets word on where her enemy, Henry, is. Henry is also the guy who now has Joel and Ellie Hostage. We go back in time and watch Henry and his little brother, Sam, as they make their way through the ruins of Kansas City. The young deaf boy has to learn harsh realities about apocalypse life while they run for their lives. Back in the present time they end up teaming up together to escape. Henry admits to Joel that he gave Fedra Kathleen's brother so Henry could get medicine for Sam. Kathleen was told by her brother to forgive Henry (before he was murdered by Fedra) but she refuses to. Joel and the gang make it out of Kansas City using tunnels but then make it to a sniper with terrible aim. Joel is able to make it up to the house and get control of the sniper which is good because we are about to have a big fight! The fight we had been waiting for! Kathleen and her troops roll up and it looks like things are all over for Henry, Sam, and Ellie… And then the ground opens up and a mob of infected come sprawling out of the ground, running every which way. This episode felt the most like a video game. The sniper, the cut scene, the mob, it was amazing. “Endure and Survive.” Joel ran point with his sniper and amazingly Ellie was able to escape without a scratch! Henry and Sam were almost gotten by Kathleen but she was attacked by an infected so they are all good. They make it back to a hotel and rest for the night, Joel and Henry talk about teaming up long term. Ellie admits to Sam that she is afraid of ending up alone. Sam admits to Ellie that he got bit and is afraid. But Ellie says her blood is medicine so she cuts herself and puts it on Sam thinking it will cure him. It was super cute and very sad. In the morning Sam has turned and almost kills Ellie, Henry pulls the trigger and kills Sam. There is a moment of panic and then Henry kills himself, a very sad ending.

E6 - Kin - Joel and Ellie get advice not to go looking for his brother because West = Death but they are going to keep going anyway. They talk about what they would do if they weren't running for their lives. Joel would be a sheep rancher. Ellie would be on the moon. They cross Death River and get surrounded by horseback riders with guns. They have an infected smelling dog who luckily doesn't smell anything on Ellie (dumb dog). For some reason Joel and Ellie are let into the compound and we find out it’s because Joel's brother Tommy is there! The brothers reunite! Tommy is low-key married, which Joel isn't very happy about. Joel and Ellie are offered a house to stay in at the commune because, surprise, they are communists! Tommy is going to be a dad so he won't help Joel. The boys get into a fight but they make up. Joel tells Tommy about Ellie. Joel talks about his panic attacks and talks about Tess and his dreams. Joel wants Tommy to take Ellie. Ellie overheard what Joel said and is crushed. Joel goes to talk to Ellie and she is mad at him. She yells at him and says she isn't like his dead daughter. He gets mad at Ellie about bringing Sarah up. Joel is determined that at dawn they will spit up, he is too sad and afraid. Joel wises up overnight and makes the choice to go with Ellie. This lets Tommy off the hook which is good cause he is gonna be a daddy. Joel and Ellie try to find some Fireflies but instead they just find some random guys and Joel gets stabbed. Poor Ellie doesn't know what to do and Joel passes out from blood loss. The episode ends with her crying over his passed out body. Sad!

e7 - Left Behind - Ellie has a flashback to before she was bitten and when she was having trouble fitting in at the Fedra academy she was in. We meet her friend, Riley, who has become a Firefly. They go out for a night on the town and are able to get into the mall and turn the power on. They have the whole run down mall to themselves and spend the night there just reveling in the old stuff like the escalators, the merry go-round, and the arcade. Little do they know an infected is in the mall with them and is being attracted to all the noise they are making. We find out that Riley is leaving Boston and won't be returning, Ellie implores her to stay and after a lot of talking Riley finally agrees. They share a kiss and now you know something bad is going to happen because happiness does not last long in this show. The infected bursts in the shop the girls are in and manages to bite them both, well, at least now we know how Ellie got her bite. In the end the girls are just holding each other, crying. We flashback to Ellie and Joel, Joel is still suffering from his stab wound but Ellie finds a needle and thread so begins to stitch him up.

e8 - When We Are In Need - Ellie sets out to get food for her and Joel but instead meets up with some settlers from another town. Apparently she and Joel had killed one of those settlers at some point and they want revenge but they let Ellie go for now. Ellie is able to get penicillin from them for Joel but he is getting better slowly if at all. While Ellie is caring for Joel the group of settlers returns to collect Joel and Ellie. Ellie tries to run them off the trail with the horse but instead they just kill the horse and capture Ellie (alive). Next they look for Joel who is hiding in a basement (where Ellie left him). Joel gets the jump on one of the settlers but he needs to save Ellie now! And he really gives a shit about her now, he tortures and beats the ever-loving fuck out of the settlers (then kills them). Ellie is in a cage and finds out that the settlers are eating people meat. The crazy priest tells Ellie that he wants her to be his equal which basically means his lover which is crazy and gross. Ellie says no (shockingly) which the priest is shocked by and decides her punishment will be to be cut up into people meat! Oh, no! Ellie narrowly escapes that fate and dodges the priest by setting a building on fire and then chopping him up with a butcher’s knife! Wack! When she escapes Joel is there, they hug and Joel calls Ellie “babygirl.”

e9 - Look For The Light - We watch Ellie be born and her mother fight for her life but get bitten. Flash forward, Ellie and Joel see giraffes! Joel offers to Ellie that they call the whole thing off. Ellie wants to finish what they started. Joel admits he tried to kill himself after he lost Sarah. While trying to enjoy puns they are bombarded with army men! Just kidding, they are Fireflies! Finally! But, wait, they are going to do brain surgery on Ellie to get the cordyceps out of her brain. But this will probably kill her… Joel is not happy about this but the Fireflies do not care. Joel pulls a fast one, gets a gun, and it is game over for the Fireflies who cross him. He is going to save Ellie if it is the last thing he does. One man taking on an entire building of people, bulletproof, just like a video game. He gets Ellie back, regardless of what she may have wanted. Joel lies to Ellie about what happened. He tells her that there are dozens like her and that the Fireflies are no longer looking for a cure. He also tells her that raiders attacked the hospital and that's why everyone is dead (not that he told her everyone was dead). They drive for a while back to Wyoming but the car breaks down and they have to go hiking. Ellie tells Joel that the first person she ever killed was her friend Riley, after Riley turned in e7. Ellie asks Joel to swear that everything he told her about what happened with the Fireflies was true and he doubles down on the lie. End of Season One!

Idea for a movie trilogy:

Similar to the “Cornetto Trilogy”, an anthology trilogy in which the main connecting feature is the cast and a joke that is split up between all three movies. What I mean is that:

1) the first movie starts a long joke, but the character gets cut off before they can finish it.

2) the second movie has a scene where a character is in the middle of telling a joke. Keen viewers will realize that the joke is picking up where the first movie left off. The character is cut off again.

3) the third movie does the same thing as the previous movie, but the character finally finishes the joke.

We can call this the “Finish The Punchline!” Trilogy.

A hypothetical outline of this trilogy could be:

1) “The Fist of San Diego”: Martial arts comedy film. A young girl (Jenna Ortega) who grew up in a hidden island of warriors is told by the island elder to find the reincarnation of the society’s founder before their enemies do. She ends up in San Diego, California, where she confuses a celebrity martial artist (Pedro Pascal) as the reincarnated founder. Shenanigans ensue as the real reincarnated founder (Steven Yeun) is actually an ordinary Starbucks barista who the young girl just missed.

2) “The Cursed Blade of Muramasa”: Period/historical action adventure movie. In the 1960s, an infamous grave robber (Steven Yeun) discovers a map that leads to the Cursed Blade of Muramasa. Since he can’t decipher the map’s puzzles, he hires an expert (Pedro Pascal), who brings along his daughter (Jenna Ortega). Shenanigans ensue as the father and daughter, who have never been in a dangerous adventure, have to tag along with the grave robber. Along the way, the trio deals with the Yakuza, who are also looking for the blade.

3) “Blood Heist”: A fusion of a heist film and a horror comedy. In a society where supernatural beings and humans coexist with each other, a vampire (Jenna Ortega) stages a heist on a blood bank that is said to have the highest quality of blood in the city. She recruits several vampires to help her. Among them is a hacker (Steven Yeun) who claims he is a vampire, but is actually a werewolf. Along the way, the robbers are being watched by the lead human detective (Pedro Pascal), who has a soft spot for the vampires.

Some of you will have noticed that I’ve talked about and use Unsplash a lot, and that’s because it’s an awesome resource that I firmly believe everybody could use. You can search

By theme; This is what I do for headers, book covers and moodboards. I define what the idea is, and then search things that work for that. For ‘The Shadow of Sorrows’ headers, I knew I wanted Cleia, Kalendora and Hamund on there, so I looked for ‘Fantasy Woman’, ‘Armour’ and ‘Warrior’

By location; For the LOTR terrain inspo, I looked up where everything was filmed and scoured through Unsplash for photos of those places and places I’d been I knew felt right.

By colour; This is what I did for the Colour Series, as well as look in the Wallpaper section, since I wanted mostly minimalist pictures.

By method; Say you are looking for some landscape inspo, but have no specific place in mind, you can always start by looking at the 'landscape' tag. It's always a good idea to work wide and refine your search as you go. You can try 'portrait' if you're looking for people inspo.

Twenty years ago, an already famous crew set out on what was supposed to be the greatest heist in galactic history.  But everything went wrong: they were betrayed, the score disappeared, and the criminals scattered.

Until now.

The Silver Sisters

Our characters:

Kyra Blake (Grace Park) -  A brilliant pilot, wife and mother, Kyra Blake lives a life of perfect respectability, but it hadn’t always been this way.  Twenty years ago, she had been a Silver Sister, until betrayal and disaster sent her running for her life.  Now, the past is back with a vengeance, and if she’s going to save her daughter, she’ll have to face what she’s done and finish what she’s started.

Samantha Antrim (Rachel Luttrell) - Hacker, forger, criminal, she zigged when Kyra zagged.  Both Sisters fled the consequences of their failure, but where Kyra went for respectability, Sam went the opposite direction.  She lives life large and lavishly, but always with the razor sharp awareness that things can go wrong at any time.  Still, Sisterhood is forever, and when Kyra comes to her for help, she won’t hesitate to answer.

Gabriel Ramos (Reggie Lee) - A one-time victim of the Sisters’ crime spree, Gabriel has fallen on hard times.  The only way to regain his former prominence and prosperity is to resort to the same women who robbed him of them to begin with.  He does have one edge though: little Elly Blake.

Alejandro Campos (Pedro Pascal) - A henchman who’s never quite gotten the recognition he craves.  But there’s more than one way to skin a cat.  As a surveillance expert, Campos has access to a lot of information, and he knows exactly who will pay dearly for it.

Eric Blake (Elden Henson) - Kyra’s husband.  An ordinary man with an ordinary life, Kyra has done the best she could to protect him from any knowledge of her past.  

Captain Elizabeth Westphalen (Hannah Waddingham) -  Where there are criminals, there are cops.  Westphalen has a reputation for tracking down even the most elusive of criminals.  Except, of course, the Silver Sisters.  But now is her chance and it is very personal.

Chief Adam Beckett (Adrian Paul) - Westphalen’s mentor and closest friend.  He’d saved her once, when she was at rock bottom.  Cool-headed and patient, he does his best to keep Westphalen in check, with dubious success.

And now, our episodes:

The Sisters: Kyra Blake and Samantha Antrim, once members of the Silver Sisters, haven’t seen each other for twenty years, until Kyra appears on Samantha’s doorstep begging for help.  Someone from their past has kidnapped her daughter and she can’t save her alone.

Eric Blake has no idea what’s going on.  All he knows is that his wife and daughter are missing, leaving behind a whole mess of incriminating evidence that he doesn’t know how to process.  He has one hope for answers: Captain Elizabeth Westphalen.

The Avenger:  Kyra and Samantha use the latter’s connections to track down information on the kidnapper: one Gabriel Ramos.  Twenty years ago, they’d been hired to rob him blind and destroy his reputation in the process.   Ramos reiterates his demand: if they want little Elly back, they’re going to have to finish their last heist.

Meanwhile, Eric Blake gets a first hand look at the corruption within the police department as Captain Westphalen crosses line after line in her vicious pursuit of any and all information related to the Silver Sisters.  Worried that his daughter might be endangered in the crossfire, he goes to her superior, Chief Adam Beckett.  He lays down the law: Westphalen won’t be able to continue this crusade without some kind of actual lead or evidence.  For now, peace is restored.

The Traitor:   Alejandro Campos is a surveillance expert that’s been working for Samantha Antrim for years without any sort of recognition or advancement.  What he does have however is backup recordings of all of Samantha’s dealings, going back through the decades, including her meetings with Kyra Blake.  And he knows exactly who’ll pay the best price for them: Captain Elizabeth Westphalen.

Proof in hand, Westphalen now has free rein to go after Kyra and Samantha, in the process, revealing the truth behind her vendetta.  Originally, there hadn’t been two Silver Sisters, there were three.  

The target of the last heist was a data file that contained information on clandestine financial resources of entire governments.  They were betrayed, by the nameless, faceless man who’d hired them.  As law enforcement closed in, the Sisters fled, but Westphalen was left behind.  Adam Beckett was the one who saved her, by pulling her out of prison and giving her a new life and a new purpose: retribution.

The Doublecross: Besieged on all sides by cop and rival criminals, all of whom want a piece of the Silver Sisters’ action, or their hides, Kyra and Samantha return to the scene of their failed heist, where Westphalen and Blake are waiting.

Now reunited, the Sisters do their best to try to kill one another.  Until Eric Blake pulls a weapon on all of them.  As it turns out, the Sisters had not completely failed their heist.  They hadn’t been able to get away with the data file, but they’d been able to lock it, in a way that required all three Sisters to finally retrieve it.  Eric demands that they do so.

Kyra is both thrilled and ashamed to see her husband, but that turns into horror when it becomes clear that Eric has no intention of delivering the file to his daughter’s kidnapper.  He’s been working for someone else, the whole time: their original employer, the one who betrayed them: Adam Beckett.

The truth comes out:  Beckett had been playing both sides of the law for years.  He’d hired the Sisters many times, under fake names and faces, to take out rivals and get himself an advantage.  However, not long after the Ramos mission, he had started to feel like he’d taken too many risks.  It was time to take the girls out.

The trap had worked perfectly, except for the stolen data file.  So in an attempt to get it back, he befriended the abandoned Westphalen and through her, he found Kyra Antrim.  He sent Blake in, and then waited patiently for his chance at the third Sister as well.  Now he has them all.

The Triplecross: Eric Blake is victorious.  He has the data file.  He has the sisters.  And, after he completes his call to Beckett, he gets shot in the back.

Eric wakes up and drags himself back to the others.  Kyra and Samantha are free and preparing to ambush Beckett.  Elizabeth is still tied up.  He is able to surreptitiously untie her and pass her his weapon before he’s noticed.

Beckett arrives, smug and with officers.  He warns them against ambush, revealing that if he dies, his men are ordered to blow the place to smithereens.  He goes inside, smug and confident, only to find Kyra holding the disk containing the file in her hands.  In front of him, she destroys it.

A furious Beckett orders Elizabeth to shoot.  She aims her weapon at him instead.  That’s when it comes out: the Sisters had never actually split allegiences.  They’d realized they’d been set up and they made a pact to find out who had used and discarded them.  Elizabeth, the toughest of them, willingly went to prison so the others could escape.  She hadn’t expected Beckett to help her, but was happy to use her position in the police force to gather more information.  

Beckett attacks, and in his rage, ends up letting slip more about his own role in the scheme.  He’s subdued by a well-placed shot to the leg.  Gabriel Ramos is above, in a sniper position, covering the sisters.  Meanwhile, outside, Alejandro Campos is using his technical expertise to broadcast Beckett’s incriminating words, as well as the research that the Sisters have separately compiled about their treacherous benefactor: more than enough for competent investigators to connect the dots.  It might or might not be enough, but then Eric offers to turn on Beckett in exchange for a lighter sentence and the ability to have some (carefully monitored) contact with his daughter.

Beckett is taken into custody by one of his ever-present subordinates (played by Arthur Darvill in a cameo role, as this is a RipChat meme after all.)  The Sisters, Campos and Gabriel all flee in Gabriel’s hidden ship, where little Elly Blake waits cheerfully.

The real sequence of events is revealed here.  Kyra, alerted by some odd behavior by her husband, starts becoming worried about the safety of her and her daughter.  She asks Gabriel to assist her by taking Elly and keeping her safe.  Gabriel, while furious at the Sisters for his humiliation, was ultimately more concerned with getting revenge on the one who set them on him to begin with and became a willing ally.  When she went to Samantha, as they’d always planned, they discussed the kidnapping and confronted Ramos as though it was real, so that Campos could then bring the recordings to Elizabeth and alert her that they intended to move.  Campos had been a petty thief when the Sisters were active, and he liked the thought that by helping them, he was becoming an honorary “Sister” himself.

The series ends with the five “Silver Siblings”  in Samantha’s luxurious secret hideout while little Elizabeth “Elly” Blake cheerfully plays in the background.

The Hallmark Channel is kicking off its “Fall Into Love”-themed programming blitz with four movie premieres in September featuring very familiar TV faces.

Premiering on Hallmark Channel:

Love in the Great Smokey Mountains: A National Park Romance Premieres: Saturday, September 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT Synopsis: Former sweethearts (played by The Vampire Diaries’ Zach Roerig and 9-1-1′s Arielle Kebbel) reunite at an archeological dig in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. While working alongside each other and competing for the same research grant, they discover they might still have feelings for one another.

Fourth Down and Love Premieres: Saturday, September 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT Synopsis: Sparks are reignited when a single mom (played by When Calls the Heart’s Pascale Hutton) and a pro football player (General Hospital’s Ryan Paevey) coincidentally meet again on her daughter’s flag football field after his career is derailed by a injury.

Episode 3 "Where is Bella?" (Part 3)

While Cassandra goes about her work at the institute, Alexander enjoys his day off with his father. Even though the boy is not so artistically inclined, he is still interested in art. He knows from stories that his mother was passionate about painting. But he is also surprised that there is not a single picture of hers hanging in the whole family home.

“Why aren't there any pictures of mom hanging here? Didn't she want them to be seen in the gallery?"/ ”She's… She didn't get around to putting her pictures in the gallery, Alexander. But she would have liked to… It just wasn't quite enough for an exhibition.” Mortimer found it difficult to give his son explanations that weren't even entirely true.

“Then why don't you just paint a few pictures and show them? You can paint beautifully too, I know that"/,,I know that too. But I… Would you like to have a look at the old covered wagon?”. The boy noticed when his father became uncomfortable talking about certain things. So he preferred not to probe any further. “Yes, and I want to have another look at the founder's statue.”
