In order to diverge this project, I chose to narrow down the topic specific to scotland and fashion. Looking at the making of textiles, wool, thread, and more. I feel there is a very rich history in Scotland relating to invention, entrepreneurs, and industry. I decided to use industries like the Pasiely Thread Factories to inspire this project because of the massive influence they had on Scotlands economy. At one point, J and P Coats (Pasiely Thread Company) was the 3rd biggest company in the world. Thousands of people all over Scotland have been employed from textile related industries and the country thrived during this time.

I would like to explore more about the impact of these companies on Scotland people. But also the impacts Scotlands industry on the rest of the world.

These pictures are from the Pasiley thread Factories, which I sorced online. I find them intriguing to see how they worked and what they wore. I want to recreate the same kind of dark moody texture that these older photographs have. Maybe on sculptures, prints, or drawings.

Danvers/Catherine Campbell Appreciation Post

So, it's kind of shocking to me that good old Danny has become my SECOND favorite character in the show behind Hecate. I think she is one of the most complex characters in the show. She's a housekeeper to Lady Macbeth, a witch/servant of Hecate, and a woman in love with a man she will never truly have.

There are so many moments with this character I adore aside from her 1-1 which is also one of my favorites. I love how she walks right through the three witches in the beginning of the Ball as if to say "everyone else might be afraid of you, but I'm not". I love watching her make her dark potion for Lady Macduff in the Dining Area of the Lobby and watching her react to the bell that tolls for the death of her beloved. I love watching her set the metronome and dance on her forbidden lovers bed longing to lay with him. I love watching Lady Macbeth THINK she owns her while we all know who is really pulling the strings here. I love watching her clean up the mess left behind by the bloody murder of Duncan. I love watching her bring Duncan's ghost out of his body so they may finally dance together in the Ballroom which they couldn't when he was tethered to his mortal state. I love watching her place a dark spell over the Macduff family cottage and letting her hair down showing her true witchy side. I love watching her convince Duncan that this is all a bad dream and that "things will make sense again tomorrow morning". And finally, I love watching her have toast and tea with The Porter and watching them realize they only have each other. In the end, neither of them will truly have the men they love.

I also MUST shout out Debra Zalkind for making me obsessed with this character. She truly IS Danvers for me and her walkouts are absolutely lovely!
