C'est vraiment fascinant les tiktoks des olympiens. Ils vivent dans un paris parallèle où il n'y a personne dans les transports en commun, les logements sont propres et fonctionnels, et on leur offre un passe Navigo toutes zones gratuit. Ils sont tous trop heureux de venir la France c'est le plus beau pays du monde pour eux et il n'y a aucun problème. Il y a véritablement une espèce de colmatage de l'info qui reste coincée dans le pays et n'atteint jamais les étrangers.

C’est hyper drôle, aujourd’hui c’était la journée de la loose😭

En mode on était allé la pote et moi au ciné et de un je suis sorti avant pour aller acheter un collier à ma mère mais le magasin était fermé 😞

Car ça fait presque la première fois en 20 ans qu’elle fête son anniversaire en Chine donc je veux lui faire plaisir

Mais du coup le trajet en tram état extrêmement long j’ai cru que j’allais y passer et ma pote et moi on devait de rejoindre à midi devant le métro. J’arrive vers midi 20 et je l’a vois pas.

Ensuite j’aide une dame à trouver et son bus et on discute et tout puis ensuite y’a un mec qui vient me voir , son téléphone à la main pour me demander le bus, je lui réponds et ensuite il demande mon âge, je lui réponds 12 (j’en ai pas 12, je vous rassure, c’est juste que je suis plutôt petite pour mon âge (😞) et que je voulais pas lui dire la vérité, parce que de base je dis toujours plus que mon âge et la bas j’avais grave pas confiance)

Et après il me dit ah ok, j’en ai 22 moi , je rigole gêné et puis ensuite par pure panique je dit "T’as vote aujourd’hui ou pas?" Il me dit oui, je lui demande pour qui il me dit qu’il sait pas et me demande pote qui j’ai voté (alors que j’ai dis 12ans, bref) je lui dit nfp et il dit pareil (je sais pertinemment qu’il ment, il a juste pas voté)

Et puis après il me dit quelque chose je comprends pas je lui demande de répéter, et là je comprends qu’il me demande si je veux me poser avec lui avec un verre

bref, je dis non et que j’ai une amie que j’attends et qu’on doit aller au ciné et il me dit okay et va se poser et il se retourne toute les 5 secondes pour me fixer avec un sourire bizarre

Et depuis tout ce temps il y a le bus 220 qui est devant nous, ouvert, et dès que le bus ferme, il se rue vers le bus pour demander la porte

ÇA VEUT DIRE QU’IL EST RESTÉ JUSTE POUR ME PARLER

Et il entre dans le bus et vraiment il me fait aurevoir à travers la fenêtre comme dans yn film d’horreur

Quand je vous dit que j’ai toujours eu des problèmes avec les hommes

Ensuite déjà, ma pote arrive et pareil, elle est en retard car son bus prenait 40 min à arriver 💀

On prend le métro, on arrive et on voit un vélo payant, on le prend et on fait la route, elle roule et moi je suis assise sur la roue arrière ( je sais pas faire du vélo 😞)

Ensuite on arrive au musée et on s’achète nos billets pour un film au hasard parce que de base on voulais regarder Napoléon mais le film durait 8h💀

Et puis ensuite on va se prendre des chocolats chauds quand la machine, on prend et puis après on va se poser dehors et ma pote décide de vouloir reprendre quelque chose.

Je prend un café vanille et elle prend un cappuccino, le vers se coince et au final le cappuccino est ultra amer, elle jette et prend un café vanille pareil, et la le verre se coince complètement et y’a même pas de boisson, elle part 1€

Ensuite on sort et elle essaye de m’apprendre le vélo, je fais que de tomber et de me faire mal

So après on regarde le film et je vous le dit, 2h de pure ennui, j’ai limite fais que de dormir c’était horrible, c’était ennuyant à souhait mon dieu, plus jamais, c’était ignoble

Et puis après on part et on reprend le vélo pour aller acheter un panini et je m’assois littéralement dans le panier💀

Bref et on passe et tout, je descends et j’achète mon panini et elle sa crêpe à 3€ avec un billet de 50€😭

Puis elle reprend le vélo et la le vélo est tellement lourd qu’il tombe sur elle et elle évite de justesse de s’éclater la gueule, bref ensuite on y va parce qu’elle a trop honte

On mange et en rigolant je crache dans sans faire exprès quelques bouts de mon panini😞

Après on faut la chasse des velib et on cherche et tout, on demande à une dame de nous donner le sien elle nous recale sec. Ensuite on passe notre temps sur les velib coincé et on découvre qu’on peut en avoir un gratuitement avec notre navigo et bon ça marche pas😞

Bref ensuite la ligne 6 était bloqué du coup on a dû faire un graaaand tour

Apres j’ai goûté du bissap et a la la c’est délicieux purée j’adore encore s’il vous plaît

i don't know if it quite counts as 'beef', but inhabitants of the 'grande couronne' departments of paris' region often tend to be seen as parisians and teased for it by french people from other regions... while parisians don't see us as parisians at all, and more like 'country/provincial people'... but none of these two stereotypes are completely true, imo

i mean... on one hand, because paris is the economic center of both the region and the country, we are inevitably intertwined with it : three of our departments, including my beloved essonne, were created in the 1960s by the loi n° 64-707 du 10 juillet 1964 portant réorganisation de la région parisienne (law no. 64-707 of july 10, 1964 relating to the reorganization of the paris region) in order to respond to a demographic boom due to rural exodus of people from other regions + immigrants, all searching for jobs in the capital or its close suburbs but unable to afford housing there (i'm kind of simplifying, but you get the gist of it!). we share a public transit network and the same transport card (the pass navigo), a common slang/accent, cultural references, etc... but, on the other hand, i would still argue we are different, and ultimately don't face the same problems nor are the same kind of territory, socially and economically.

i could use many examples, but the topic i know best is the way we are connected to the rest of the region : we are even further from paris than people living in the close suburbs, and that means can get really isolated when there are renovation works on the rer/transilien (which. happens often. like really.). it's a whole issue, how we genuinely cannot get to paris or the suburbs (because the network is so paris-centred -- it's star-shaped --, most of the time, when you want to go from a suburb to another, you have to take a connection in paris) when the lines are closed in the evenings (and by that i mean the evenings on weekdays, sometimes starting from 8:30pm) and weekends, the infrastructure on many lines (c and d especially) is old, and unlike with the subway, you don't get a train every five minutes (it's a train all 30 minutes or every hour, and that's when they're not cancelling them lmao) :'D and as someone who lives in a more rural corner and has been going to uni, working, and seeing friends in paris... i have been experiencing it daily. people commute for hours every day to get to work because they don't have the choice... and the regional council (presided by valérie pécresse </3), which is in charge of the public transport, doesn't do anything to improve the situation...in fact, the quality of our public transport has been degrading since her coalition won the regional elections back in 2015 and has been reelected since because there is a very low turnout so. yeah. (also tbh whilst we have an extra struggle due to distances in the 'grande couronne', this obviously applies to the closer suburbs as well, especially the poorer ones like seine-saint-denis.)

honestly, while not ignoring the fact that this city also has inequalities within it, just living in paris itself is a privilege that most ordinary parisians (not just the upper-class ones!) don't realise. it immediately gives you a wider array of opportunities and access to a lot more services and institutions! like, a parliamentary investigation has once showed that even the least reputed schools in paris' working-class districts receive more funds than the best-ranked schools in the neighboring department of seine-saint-denis, which is one of france's poorest departments ; there are almost no food or medical deserts (even though the public hospitals there are also being fucked over by the government's policies like in the rest of the country, ofc), and wherever you are in the capital, you will have a subway/bus/tram, and a plan b if your line is closed, etc. anyway yeah tl;dr: there is no universal experience of living in the paris region, especially if you live in a poorer department with shitty infrastructure and public services that are even more underfunded by the state / in a rural area, but we are still linked to paris whether we want it or not. schrödinger's parisians or something, idk👍(also, i'd say the shared trait in the whole paris region is that people are rude. our fellow countrymen from other regions are right about that one.)

Warning for tourists on Paris Olympics eve

The 2024 Olympic Games kick off later this week, which means millions of tourists will be travelling to Paris, using the metro, buses and trams to get between sports venues and beyond. It also means that public transport tickets and passes will be in high demand, which could be an opportunity for fraud, The Mayor reports.

A study conducted by SR.de (the Saarland’s regional broadcaster) shows that tourists should be wary not only of scammers trying to sell them tickets to the Olympic opening ceremony on July 26 (which are free, by the way), but also regular public transport passes for the French capital.

Scams with the latter concern, in particular, the so-called “Passe Navigo” – a season ticket, which is valid for travelling in public transport in Paris and the French region of Ile-de-France. Its cost depends on which zone you use it in, but goes up to almost €80 a month. However, scammers in Facebook groups are offering such fake passes for around €20 a month.

The Paris mobility authority says it has already opened criminal proceedings against several suspected fraudsters. However, it is best to exercise caution and common sense and only purchase public transport tickets through official sources at points of sale or online at the RATP website.

For Olympic guests, a one-week pass is available for €70. It entitles you to travel in all fare zones and at all sports venues.

Fares in public transport in Paris will go up until September 8. When it comes to public transport tickets in Paris, the reality is that they have gone up in price since last weekend. They will now cost residents and visitors to the city €4 instead of the standard €2.15. Similarly, travelling on regional RER trains will cost €6 instead of the usual €3.20 to €5.

The reason for the sharp increase in fares is the expected increase in pressure on the city’s public transport network and the need to increase its capacity in the short term to meet the surge in passenger numbers. The new prices will be valid until September 8.

La hausse du prix du pass Navigo serait une catastrophe pour les Franciliens, mieux vaut trouver de nouvelles ressources en faisant contribuer par exemple les véhicules les plus polluants et les entreprises les moins vertueuses en termes de mobilité.
