I hadn't realized until the last post I reblogged, that the Graphics suite had been folded into the newest REframework. I was still using an older build.
Path tracing kinda messes a bit with your graphics until you reboot the game, which is why I had uninstalled the graphics suite a few months back. But now that it's part of REframework I peeked at it again, and gosh darn it looks so good.

I'm pretty sure they use the path tracing tech during cutscenes. That's why everything looks so dope during those.

The game looks good without it already, but with full/hybrid path tracing, it just looks phenomenal imo.
I wish they would give us an official, polished option to enable it during gameplay. (Optional, because it does eat the fame rate.)
Can everyone appreciate (hybrid) path tracing with me Apparently, it was implemented but not finished in the game. While full path tracing is there, it's missing stuff like effects on weapons and subsurface scattering. Hybrid path tracing is most noticeable outdoors during the day, and mostly relies on vanilla raytracing at night/indoors if I remember correctly. Hardware Unboxed did a video on it last year when it was first discovered, and I've been burning my CPU/GPU on it ever since.
I have a few comparisons, ASVGF/vanilla RTGI/raytracing vs (hybrid) path tracing. Expect pointillism in path tracing pics due to the lack of denoiser:

The reflections on the armor! The skin tone and colors of clothing! The detail and depth added to the hair, fur, fabric, staff, and the wall! I love lighting. Think about its impact when used in the visual arts. You can pry lighting out of my cold dead hands

I realize most of them are on cloudy/dim days but there's still a noticeable difference. I remember on my first playthrough I was so confused by the cavern comment and didn't even go back to check for ages. ASVGF softens things (due to the denoiser?). The third pic in the first and third set is supposed to be ASVGF cloned over the hybrid path tracing layer to remove some noise and add back the ASVGF/RTGI part which is nice in some ways and meh in others. I've been sticking to hybrid path tracing these days

Let's talk about that CaitVi Scene
For me, what made this scene impactful has to do more with the fact that the prison cell is the physical representation of Vi's mind more than the fact that it's where they first met. (Although the latter does add merit to Fortiche's capacity for telling circular narratives.)
We know this because we see Fortiche use this same motif in S108, where we see half of Vi behind bars and the other half unobstructed, which signifies how Vi is torn between going back to help her sister and helping Caitlyn take the gemstone back.

In this context, though, Vi is shackled by the mantra, “Whatever happens, it’s on you,” and we know this because Vi admits it herself, “I choose wrong every time. And because of it, I’ve lost everyone.”

And the implication of Caitlyn unlocking this cell and entering this space—this space filled with emotional and physical scars, this space haunted by phantom pains and memories with teeth—was just like an “I got you” moment, the perfect affirmation that finally releases Vi from the shackles of this inherited responsibility. 
Caitlyn not only predicted it, but she actively took measures that enabled Vi to free Jinx safely. By doing this, Caitlyn implicitly confirmed that Vi didn't choose wrong this time and that she wasn't alone in the decision to offer Jinx a second chance.

I know some people have their own opinions about them doing it in a jail cell without explicitly talking about what happened between them in Act 1, but as much as I appreciate the idea of open communication, romance, and making love in a bed, I understand why they saved the talking for later. After all, facing imminent doom and Armageddon can influence people to rush into things. 
All jokes aside, there is one thing about this scene that makes my heart ache with joy: that Vi finally has one memory that outshines all that was made in the prison cell. And that memory is of warmth, a gentle touch, and soft eyes—the only memory that matters.

Zelda’s banquet outfit from Ch 10 of “The Path To Paradise (The Road To Ruin)
Zelda turned this way and that in front of the mirror, admiring the way the gold circlet caught the light in her hair, and the ruby complemented the dark green silk of her gown. She truly looked the part – a Hylian noblewoman at King Rauru and Queen Sonia’s court, ready to join the celebratory feast that marked the conclusion of the first round of treaty negotiations.
She added one more swipe of rouge to her lips, trying to match the same shade of red as the ruby. Her whole life lay ahead of her. She truly was free. Free from the burdens of her birth, of her power, of the weight of rebuilding a collapsed society. She could help build Hyrule here. Help create the nation she loved, and make it better than it had ever been, rather than cobbling it from the ashes of her own failure. 
She gave herself one more inspection in the mirror, and, satisfied with what she saw, joined the busy throng in corridor leading down to the banquet hall.
