Pre-BAFTA thoughts
On 27th of March TV BAFTA nominations will be announced, so I decided to speculate about possibility of Nicola nomination.
I. Possible categories for nomination. Nicola, projects she is in and people related to her could be nominated in the following categories:
Best Drama Series (possibly Bridgerton)
Best Scripted Comedy (possibly Big Mood, Big Boys)
Best Actor (possibly Luke Newton for Bridgerton)
Best Actress (possibly Nicola for Bridgerton/Big Mood, Lydia West for Big Mood)
Best Supporting Actor (possibly someone from Bridgerton like lord Debling, Featherington husbands, or someone from Big Mood)
Best Supporting Actress (possibly someone from Bridgerton like Claudia, Cressida (Jess), Featherington sisters, Portia or someone from Big Mood)
Best Male Comedy Performance (possibly Dylan Llewellyn for Big Boys, Robert Gilbert or Eamon Farren for Big Mood)
Best Female Comedy Performance (possibly Nicola for Big Mood, Lydia West for Big Mood)
This is just me guessing, so I’m not sure if everyone mentioned is even eligible for this year’s BAFTA. And yes, this is highly biased as a Nicola fan—you can basically read it as me hoping Nicola herself, her projects, and those connected to her get nominated.
II. Background information on previous years’ nominations (picked randomly based on my personal bias)
Bridgerton has never been nominated, except for Virgin TV's Must-See Moment in 2021. Meanwhile, Derry Girls, Big Boys, Sex Education, and their respective actors have received multiple nominations and won in some categories.
2024: “Big Boys” nominated for Best Scripted Comedy
2023:
“Bad Sisters” was nominated and won Best Drama Series
“Derry Girls” was nominated and won Best Scripted Comedy (Big Boys was also nominated)
Cillian Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”) was nominated for Best Actor
Jon Pointing as Danny (“Big Boys”) was nominated for Best Male Comedy Performance
Siobhán McSweeney as Sr. George Michael (“Derry Girls”) was nominated and won Best Female Comedy Performance
“Derry Girls” Finale was nominated for Memorable Moment, but Platinum Jubilee: Party at the Palace – Paddington Meets The Queen won
2022:
Lydia West as Jill Baxter – It's a Sin was nominated for Best Actress
Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong – Sex Education was nominated for Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong – Sex Education (Netflix)
2021:
Paul Mescal – Normal People was nominated for Best Actor
Aimee Lou Wood – Sex Education was nominated and won Best Female Comedy Performance
Bridgerton – "Penelope is revealed as Lady Whistledown" was nominated for Virgin TV's Must-See Moment
2019: Derry Girls was nominated for Best Scripted Comedy
III. My personal predictions.
Being cautiously optimistic, I hope Big Mood will be nominated for Best Scripted Comedy and Nicola will be nominated for Best Actress or Best Female Comedy Performance.
It would be really cool for Bridgerton to be nominated but based on the previous nomination I guess they are very heavy on British.
But we will see👀
So vote for the carriage scene https://publicvote.bafta.org/po-cruises-memorable-moment.

10 Shocking Stories the Media Buried Today #10 - British advisors to Kamala Harris have been caught plotting to "kill Musk's Twitter," and now
@ElonMusk
is saying, "This is war." This damning discovery was uncovered by Paul D. Thacker and Matt Taibbi. The report reveals that it’s England—not Russia—involved in real election interference. It starts with leaked documents from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a group linked to the British Labour Party, showing a plan to take down X. Their "annual priorities" mission is: "Kill Musk's Twitter." Alongside that is "advertising focus," which means a harassment and shaming campaign to scare away advertisers and drain X's revenue. Morgan McSweeney, a key figure behind British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's rise to power, is leading this effort. The report suggests that he is aiming to replicate the success he had in the U.K., using narrative control, political influence, and censorship to shape the outcome of the 2024 election. The leaks also show that CCDH is pushing for new laws to control "misinformation"—all under the guise of combating disinformation, while actually trying to manipulate U.S. legislation. This report is damning, and it shows how much the world's most powerful people hate free speech and the open flow of ideas. Anyone claiming to combat "misinformation," at this point, is clearly your enemy, not your friend.

Auron MacIntyre
Oct 24, 2024
Progressive journalists and politicians have endlessly accused Donald Trump of colluding with Russia to influence U.S. elections. But a new bombshell report reveals that the Kamala Harris campaign is working with the British Labour Party to censor social media and news outlets within the United States, hoping to sway the 2024 presidential election.
Many Republicans had already raised concerns when reports emerged this month that more than 100 Labour staffers traveled to the United States to campaign for Harris in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Journalist Paul Thacker and Matt Taibbi’s report revealed a deeper relationship between the Harris campaign and foreign political agents, with a shared agenda that includes destroying Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter).
Pledge your support
After eight years of accusing Donald Trump of treasonous foreign collusion, it’s now clear that the Democratic Party is comfortable working with elements of the British government to manipulate U.S. politics.
Thacker and Taibbi show how foreign political operatives are not only advising the Harris campaign but also directing critical aspects of it. The highly partisan nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate has served as a vehicle for foreign influence. CCDH, a subsidiary of British think tank Labour Together, is led by progressive strategist Morgan McSweeney, who also advises Harris.
In the U.K., CCDH has championed censorship under the guise of fighting “misinformation.” Its U.S.-based office has helped organize advertiser boycotts of right-leaning news outlets like the Federalist and Zero Hedge.
McSweeney, credited with Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s rise, has pushed for extreme measures to suppress free speech in Britain. After riots erupted in response to the mass knifing of several children earlier this summer, Starmer emptied prisons of violent criminals to make room for political dissidents. His government has cracked down on social media posts, even arresting people for sharing content critical of immigration policy. Additionally, Starmer’s government has been arresting Christians for silently praying in public. This is the level of censorship the Democrats wish to enforce, First Amendment be damned.

We, the undersigned, come together as creatives and artists, recognising the immense power held within each voice, especially those often underrepresented in our society.
Art and creativity shapes and reflects the diverse experiences of our communities. It’s vital that politics does too, and that everyone’s voice is heard in our democracy.
But in Britain today, as many as 8 million people are not registered to vote at their current address. Turnout of younger voters has been falling considerably. New rules requiring photo ID risk excluding hundreds of thousands of citizens, and disproportionately affecting poorer people, those with disabilities and people from minority ethnic backgrounds.
We, the undersigned, stand united in our belief that participation in elections is not just a right, but a profound responsibility—one that should extend to everyone, at the heart of a vibrant democracy.
That is why we urge you to join us in registering to vote for the upcoming local elections before the deadline of 23:59 on Tuesday 16 April, at https://qrco.de/giveanx. Remember, you are also eligible to register if you are a qualifying EU or Commonwealth citizen.
We join hands with the young people leading the Give an X campaign in emphasising the importance of young people shaping the future, and we urge each and every citizen to claim their seat at the table.
Voting is not just casting a ballot; it is narrating the stories of our communities and painting a vision of a better tomorrow. In the face of huge challenges nationally and globally, that has never been more important.
Let’s all of us write the next chapter together. We Give an X – will you?

Leaked Docs Expose Far-Left Group's Plan to Kill 'Elon Musk's Twitter' Ahead of Election

The British are coming, and they're going to interfere with our elections.
Leftists are furious Elon Musk is campaigning on former President Donald Trump’s behalf and are looking for every opportunity to take him down before the 2024 election. Leaked internal documents from a British nonprofit organization expose the group’s plan to “kill Musk’s Twitter” by targeting advertisers.
The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a group associated with England’s Labour Party, is allegedly attempting to meddle in the U.S. presidential election. According to internal documents obtained by journalists Paul Thacker and Matt Taibbi, the company seeks to strengthen its ties to the pro-censorship administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The founder of CCDH is British political operative Morgan McSweeney, who is advising Harris’s presidential campaign.
In a coordinated effort to undermine X, the company is reportedly pressuring advertisers to withdraw their funds and support from the social media platform to ruin it financially. Its agenda includes “Progress towards change in the USA and support for STAR,” which means creating an “independent digital regulator” that could “impose consequences for harmful content” and “set up meetings with [Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)] team.”
The company is notably known for recently hiring the firm Lot Sixteen to lobby congressional offices on “misinformation” in Washington, D.C. Taibbi and Thacker explained that although the CCDH describes itself as an anti-misinformation organization, one of its top priorities is to “trigger EU and UK regulatory action” against platforms such as Twitter.
The CCDH has had over 60 meetings with U.S. lawmakers “on the Hill” this year alone, while another task assignment reads “Meeting with 16 congressional offices over the next two weeks to give updates on the Elon lawsuit.”
Musk described the company’s objectives as a “criminal organization” and declared this “war.” He vowed to go after the company and its donors— and their donors.

Paul D. Thacker e Matt Taibbi têm a história no DisInformation Chronicle .

IBOTW: Parts Per Million

Parts Per Million Paul McSweeney Vocals/Guitar S. Brian Bailey Guitar/Vocals Alex Marks Bass/Vocals David MacCauley
And here we are again – bringing you some incredible music from amazing bands that deserve your eyes and ears. This week’s Indie Band of the week is Parts Per Million, an independent rock band from the New England area. The band was founded by singer/songwriter Paul McSweeney and guitarist Brian Bailey, and rounded out with bassist Alex Mark’s and drummer David MacCaulay. They are bringing back that 90’s era heavy rock and grunge, paired with four part singing harmonies and soaring guitar solos.
Read on to get a little more acquainted with Parts Per Million and feast your ears on their music, because we know these guys are going to rock it like none-other.
Hi! It’s great to get a chance to talk to you about your band and your music. Let’s start off with whatever you feel we need to know about what you are up to right now.
We have a new EP releasing sometime this summer, depending on the current situation titled The Cycle. We just released “2020 VISION”, our fourth single from that EP, and an incredible video worth checking out.
We will definitely do that – how would you describe your band?
The vocal harmonies of AIC, the sonic assault of early Soundgarden, and the energy off the Foo Fighters.
Bold words my friend! I like it. Why did you decide to play the genre or genres you do?
I really miss good heavy rock music in the mainstream. We just want to believe we have something special and different, and just enough of what others miss to make a serious impact on the world.
Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Inspiration usually comes from other musicians and songs. For me the writing process almost always starts on an acoustic guitar, followed by vocal humming. At this point it usually goes to the band and becomes a possibility of someone adding something to it. From there I usually go home and write lyrics on something that I already had determined somewhere along the line. Initially, it always starts in a quiet place.
youtube
What specific themes do your songs cover?
Suicide, politics, societal pressure, abandonment, death…you know…all the happy stuff! (laughs). The newest EP is about cycles, whether of behavior, politics, or life. Some of the many repeating things that happen in our lives
Do you think that online presence is important for fans to find you and critics to find your music to write about?
Yes. especially now. We all have noticed a downward trend on crowds in venues as a whole. Any way to connect with people on any level is important, and we enjoy making videos and content. We also welcome critique of the band and our songs, whether good or bad to keep perspective.
How do you promote your band and shows?
Every way possible: social media promotion, direct messaging, going to other area shows and handing out flyers and tickets. This, still being the best way in my opinion. Putting faces to names and making friends in the scene is the best way to build a following in my opinion. To many bands do not get out and support others unless they are playing the show.
That’s a shame, especially now. What’s the best and worst thing about playing clubs?
The best thing about it is it can be an intimate packed house full of energy. The bad part is it can be completely dead.
Agreed. What are your immediate music career goals?
To tour, to get a little more recognition nationally, and to play in front of a festival or large crowd.
Those are great goals. Once you’ve achieved that, do you feel you would call it a success? What is your definition of “success”?
If I could make a living off of music with 3 other guys, I’d call that a success. If this ended today, I’d still feel the same way. We’ve put out some really good material, and I’m proud to have it in the world.
Most definitely. What advice would you give to fellow bands?
Just keep going. If you find the right people to make music with, just keep going. It takes time. We have been through so many ups and downs and sometimes when things looked like they were at their worst, we did our finest work.
How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?
For me this was always a big deal, so it comes out on the table in the beginning with anyone who enters my life. It isn’t always easy, and usually takes a lot of my free time. I wouldn’t do it any other way though. I love playing and writing music more than anything in this world.

On October 22nd, independent journalists Paul D. Thacker and Matt Taibbi published a bombshell investigation, exposing how the intelligence-adjacent Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) hatched a covert plot at the start of 2024 to “kill [Elon] Musk’s Twitter.” This highly politicised attack on ‘X’ is just one component of a wider British invasion of the US political sphere, designed to sabotage Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, guarantee the election of Kamala Harris, and keep Washington embroiled in the Ukraine proxy war quagmire.Leaked CCDH docs show destroying ‘X’ is the organisation’s chief priority
CCDH was founded by Morgan McSweeney, a British political svengali widely credited with masterminding Keir Starmer’s landslide July general election win, now closely advising Harris’ presidential campaign. The organisation, which targets both left and right dissident voices for censorship and deplatforming, was spun out of Labour Together, a “think tank” McSweeney led 2017 - 2020. In this position, he drew up Machiavellian plans for Starmer’s seizure of power, and neutralising then-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and his party support base, much of which subsequently came to fruition.
CCDH was a key element of McSweeney’s anti-Corbyn crusade. Officially founded in early 2019, its first act was to launch Stop Funding Fake News (SFFN). Initially operating without any clarity on who or what was funding and running the endeavour, it promoted boycotts of independent English-language news outlets. Resultantly, major businesses were pressured into withdrawing their adverts from target websites, to starve them of revenue. The approach was devastatingly effective, shutting down several websites and forcing others, like The Canary, to downsize.
