what was miu’s father like?
TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of alcohol, drug use, abuse, the not so pretty symptoms of bipolar. If you are uncomfortable with any of these topics, please do not read or interact. I am not responsible if you choose to ignore these warnings and cause yourself mental harm. I will be tagging each of these triggers in the tags of this post as well.
Mikuo tried his best in the beginning. He really did, and he was ecstatic to have a baby girl. Up until Miu turned around 6 or 7, that's when things got worse. Mikuo became unhappy in his failing relationship with her mother, the product becoming Miu's younger brother, Goro.
Miu was too young to understand the reality of what was happening between her parents and to realize that things were not normal. She loved having a brother, though, which her dad was happy to hear about back then. Mikuo never felt bad about cheating on Chisato(Miu's mom) and having a child with someone else, which is where things start to change. His true colours start to show a few years afterwards.
Mikuo was young and still had a lot of growing to do, and was trying his best to provide for his small family, but most of Miu's memories of her dad from this time would be him sleeping a lot and being angry and raising his voice at her over small things. Chisato was gone for a while and came back into the picture, but she was still heavily hooked onto drugs and alcohol, and she became obsessed with Miu to the point where Miu started to feel like she had to be the mom in their relationship. Mikuo didn't like this, but he knew Miu wanted a whole family, so he tried his best to keep her mom with him in the picture, but he was still very unhappy.
He had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and anger issues, and was unmedicated for a long time, and when he was medicated, he wouldn't always take them. This is where things took a turn for the worse. His mania and depressive swings would get more extreme. He stopped playing with Miu asmuch and started to only find enjoyment in sex and money.
Over the years, he had steadily gotten to the point where he found a good job, one with great benefits and one that paid well. One that could keep him and the family afloat enough so they would be able to survive and at least look like a normal happy family. He was at this job for a long time, and he had moved up in ranks and was generally well liked within the company. This made him feel a bit more satisfied, and he really tried his best to be a good father, despite his misgivings.
Mikuo was then suddenly fired from his job over something that he wasn't responsible for, and he kind of exploded at that point. He became more cynical and angry and he genuinely couldn't find any happiness anymore other than alcohol. He took a lot of it out on Miu and Chisato.
Mikuo had no other outlet to vent his frustrations on. He had lost his insurance coverage which helped cover the costs of his medication for his bipolar disorder, and due to his drinking, it amplified the not so great sides of the illness. He turned into a total jerk, a horrible father, and an even worse person.
When he found another job that didn't quite treat him the best or pay him the best, he felt a little better, and was actually kind of happy when Goro was sent to live with them. He was excited to have a son and was happy to see his daughter getting along with him, but it wasn't enough to keep him happy or satisfied. He tried to shape up a bit, but never really thought about the gravity of his actions towards Miu and her mom. Goro saw bits and pieces, and really clung onto Miu afterwards.
Mikuo was still very unhappy with everything going wrong in his life, and continued to get upset and angry easily, often screaming at his kids to shut up when they were just playing together. He didn't really think about anyone else's feelings but his own. Instead of trying to understand or listen to his children when they wanted to tell him how they felt or if something was wrong, he was busy wallowing in self-pity, drowning in his sorrow and frustrations.
After Goro was taken away, he started to feel more hatred towards his life and how boring it was. He continued to take out his stress on Miu and Chisato, and started to see less colour in the world, he couldn't feel joy anymore and the only hint of pleasure he could ever feel was the amusement of seeing others more miserable than he was. He turned into a sick and sadistic man who found enjoyment in hurting the people who loved/depended on him. He couldn't understand what he was doing was wrong anymore, and he never wanted to be sober anymore. He had also started to get into drugs at some point but he wasn't so hooked on them like Chisato was.

EVERY REASON (that i can think of) AS TO WHY TURBO/KING CANDY IS NEURODIVERGENT 💥💥
Tumblr media
i would like to make a disclaimer first and foremost about the obvious, being that Turbo/King Candy is heavily implied to have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). Very often, characters with these disorders are portrayed as villains, and Turbo is no exception to this. There's nothing wrong with antagonistic characters having said disorders, per se, but when the only representation available for people with these conditions are found in characters you're not supposed to root for, it can be really disheartening. i won't be erasing these parts of him because i feel it would be in poor taste to gloss over those core elements of who he is, but plz keep in mind that having any kind of personality disorder doesn't make anyone inherently evil!!!🌞 your ACTIONS make you, not your brain
Tumblr media
Also if anyone has any suggestions or other ideas for his neurodiversity, i would love to hear them! please do share!! I LOVE PSYCHOANALYZING CHARACTERS AND HEARING OTHER PEOPLE PSYCHOANALYZE THEM !!!! YAY🎉 if u agree or disagree with any of my points I'd love to discuss them further :-]
Tumblr media
without further ado... click read more to find out…😈 be ready for a lot of reaches
Tumblr media
💥 ADHD 💥
STIMMING
Turbo's constantly moving around in some way; he's a very expressive character! even as King Candy, he can't seem to conceal his frequent giggling. it's a big habit of his; he seems to do it involuntarily to regulate himself, including when he's nervous or uncomfortable.
he seems to display other repetitive behaviors as well, like doing his iconic thumbs-up pose, sticking out his tongue, or hopping around gleefully. he is but a jovial court jester..
i personally like to think that his phrases, "Turbo-tastic!" and "Have some candy!" are vocal stims of his, although i equally really love the interpretation that these (and the aforementioned stims) are tics :-]
another headcanon; i think it would make a lot of sense for him to have an oral fixation of some sort (ignoring the whole sigmund freud part of the term ermm...); just lots of biting, chewing, needing to have something in his mouth. It would align with the whole idea that he smokes, too
HYPERACTIVITY
we can clearly see throughout the film that Turbo has a lot of energy, made abundantly clear by his mannerisms and general behavior. he's constantly moving, using exaggerated expressions and gestures to communicate + express himself. He's one of the most animated and bouncy characters in the movie, next to Vanellope! it's silly how a character not very grounded in reality is such a threat, but i suppose that's what makes him so threatening in the first place...
another factor in this is how he is very adrenaline-seeking, craving activities that give him a rush (sugar rush...😂😂). more on that in a bit!!
HYPERFIXATION
Turbo's fixation with winning is all-consuming for him; it's an obsession. he doesn't appear to care about much else, if anything besides it. this could be interpreted as a hyperfixation for him (or special interest if ur all about that autism lifestyle), as it overtakes all of his focus and impedes every process of his mind.
it's clear that racing is much more than a passion for him, and while that fact is due to how he was programmed, it's a major character trait of his regardless that could be correlated to neurodivergence.
HYPERFOCUS
There seems to be a big theme of "all or nothing" when it comes to Turbo. he will either be fully dedicated to something or brush it aside without a second thought. it can't be denied that he fully wraps himself up in what he wants, whether it's a conflict he can't let go of or a new pursuit he's hungrily chasing after.
ultimately, his dedication varies depending on if it is relevant to him and his interests or not, but this aspect of him still shares patterns with neurodivergent thought processes.
INSTANT GRATIFICATION
Seeing as he has a tendency to cheat in his use of code to spawn in whatever his heart desires, it can be assumed that this could do with Turbo wanting instant gratification to fill that bitter, empty void inside of him. while this could simply be brushed aside as greed and his belief that he is obligated to have access to whatever he wants, this trait is consistent with his generally dopamine-seeking behavior and wanting to be instantly rewarded by his actions. His obsession with needing to feel good directly relates to his need for another buzz, constantly after the next rush. (a sugar rush if you will☺☺☺)
ADRENALINE-SEEKING
Closely related to the previous speculation, Turbo always seems to be chasing his next high. he loves the thrill of action and being surrounded by crowds of people below him. it's why his big thing is racing! people cheer him on, he can do whatever he wants, he can go really fast and look cool..
it's possible that a big aspect of why he does this is to distract himself from any kind of pain, because pain = vulnerability. bro does NOT know how to independently cope with his own problems.. HE MAD AS HELLLLL!!! 😂😂
STRUGGLE WITH SELF CARE
(i know this is reaching but bear with me... 🐻) going off of his appearance and tendency to make poor decisions, it can be gathered that this man lacks skill in the self care department. his yellowing teeth and sunken eyes not only serve to complement his design, but also give way to the idea that he neglects himself in favor for whatever weird scheme he's up to.
of course, Turbo does prioritize himself above everyone else, but he doesn't strike me as the type to care much about how others think he smells. him being a bother to anyone isn't a concern of his. he cares about whatever gets him the most praise and attention from as many people as possible, which is winning and racing. Who cares about how clean he is when he's up on a podium holding a shiny, golden trophy, anyway?
It's likely that he had to step his game up when he went under disguise as king candy, which is why he looks well-groomed in comparison to his more corpse-like appearance. Ugly hoe. it can also be assumed that he's had more time to focus on himself because everyone loves him without question... Well, except for Vanellope, but who cares about her, right?
also, i know he makes a condescending comment to Ralph about how bad his breath smells, but it's made abundantly clear that Turbo is a massive hypocrite. his comment doesn't erase the possibility that he has suffered from such "halitosis" as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💥 ANXIETY 💥
GENERAL ANXIOUS BEHAVIOR
i know, i know, this could technically be chalked up to be "Turbo is nervously giggling and shit because he's scared of getting caught," but guys. g
even in the flashback scene, we can see how easily stressed he can become in an alarmingly short period of time. he is extremely insecure, therefore i am led to believe he is not only emotionally dysregulated, but also by extension, anxiety ridden.
yes, this is purely speculative, but who's to say that he wasn't like this before? being high-strung and intense are significant facets of his personality consistently portrayed throughout the film. as long as he is getting exactly what he wants, he is happy; the moment he loses even a blip of control, however, he immediately grows extremely tense.
if Turbo wasn't anxious about his disguise as King Candy before, he was anxious about how much attention he was receiving on a given day. if not that, then he'd be anxious over how he presents himself. He hates how he can't control how other people perceive him, which is why he is constantly trying to act like he's better than he is.
its why he justifies his behavior to himself, proudly making others refer to him as the "rightful ruler" of sugar rush and relishing in the attention of his countless underlings. Any secure and stable person would NOT ACT LIKE THIS!!!!😭😭😭
FIGHT OR FLIGHT
As we can see a handful of times on screen, Turbo's instinct to protect himself is very easily activated.
his fear manifests in anger and aggression. we can see at multiple points how easy it is to upset him or fluster him; his anger is one side of the same coin, the opposite end being his fear and paranoia.
Going off of this point, have you noticed that Turbo is either satisfied or furious without much of an in-between? how the second something isn't under his manipulation, he lashes out and fights back? I'm led to believe that this is how he responds to fear (AAUAAYAUUUUGGHHH 🐡🐡🐡🐡🐡🐡🐡). This guy is so against the idea of being vulnerable, that even when afraid, he will utilize violence to regain his dominance over the situation at hand.
CONTROL + PARANOIA
Turbo's always trying to writhe or fight his way out of uncomfortable situations, unable to exist outside of his comfort zone for seconds at a time.
his defensive, paranoid, and controlling behavior are all reflections of how deeply insecure this man is. He feels such an intense need for everything to go exactly how he expects it to go that the moment he senses any kind of threat, he instantly jumps to defend himself and what he feels that he has "earned," regardless of whether there truly is a threat or not.
this could potentially be a coping mechanism for his anxiety and sense of stability; can't forget to mention how territorial he is!! he jumps to conclusions about what others' intentions are before they even get a chance to reply, as seen with his first encounter with Ralph in the movie.
the racer is so internally discombobulated that he seeks any sense of stability on his environment, including on those around him. his sense of self is so warped that he copes with constant distraction; being under the spotlight, being actively racing, having to be showered with attention, having others make him feel good because he doesn't know how to do it for himself. he needs to feel like everything is under control, lest everything falls apart.
"...if there's ONE thing I can't abide, it's ANYTHING out of order!"
Tumblr media
💥 NPD 💥
INFLATED SENSE OF SELF IMPORTANCE
Turbo's most in-your-face trait above all else. It's made more than crystal clear in every scene he's in that his arrogance is a determining factor in how he interacts with others. This is exactly what drives him to desperately crave admiration, to chase after others he's envious of because he thinks he is obligated to take what they have.
he seems to genuinely think he is entitled to get whatever he wants, just because he is inherently "special" or "better" than everyone else. Why else would he have made himself a king, a step above princess?
EXCESSIVE NEED FOR ADMIRATION
Turbo's self worth is COMPLETELY dependent on the opinions of children and teenagers. I think i don't need to say any more than that, but i will. (Evil).
As cartoonishly massive as his ego is, i think that it's fair to assume that Turbo has a very unstable sense of self, distorting his perception of his own worth down with it. his near-constant flaunting and need to be the best is a dead giveaway to his deeply-ridden self-doubt. The foundation of his stability is built around how "good" he is (at racing and winning), how powerful he is, whether or not he is being prioritized above everyone else, whether or not he is the absolute best, etc. etc.
The racer outright manipulates others to shower him with admiration and undeserved appreciation. He is incapable of forming a true sense of internal value, instead heavily and codependently relying on others to form it for him. if he isn't the best, he may as well just be nothing.
INTENSE JEALOUSY
He reacts so severely to what he perceives as others taking away what is rightfully his that it only goes to solidify my previous points even further. the second someone else is getting more attention than him, Turbo will bend over backwards to rip back the praise he believes he so rightly deserves.
being extremely competitive, he will one-up against anyone he thinks of as a threat, dedicating himself to taking them down to the best of his ability, and making sure they STAY down to top it all off.
INABILITY TO HANDLE CRITICISM
if we really dissect the entire one-off joke with Turbo insisting that his stolen pink castle is actually "salmon," along with all of his other domineering behaviors, we can garner that he is very persistent in how he wants others to view him. i wholeheartedly believe that this would translate into him not only being defensive over his supposed "ownership" of Sugar Rush, but also over himself and his own insecurities.
He needs to feel good about himself or else he will die and quite literally try to kill everyone.
LACK OF EMPATHY
He appears to have a fondness for making jokes in very poor taste. Turbo has a big sense of humor, but it's always at the expense of others. Be it a pun about a "fungeon," or jumping to protect himself with a joke about "hitting a guy with glasses," he has a tendency to take serious situations very lightly. It's not that he's unaware of the weight of it; he simply doesn't take it Seriously.
its admittedly impressive how he was able to feign empathy so well for Ralph; it goes to show how he is very capable of understanding that what he's doing is wrong, but ultimately does nothing to change his behavior because it doesn't impact him personally.
i would like to honor this part of him, because even in the possible alternate path of a redemption arc, his struggle with empathy can be explored in a variety of interesting ways :-] he can understand complicated emotions and situations on an analytical level, but he doesn't feel for them unless it has to do with him specifically. (this obviously doesn't make him inherently evil, his ACTIONS make him evil)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💥 ASPD 💥
LACK OF REMORSE/GUILT
One of Turbo's core characteristics is just how far he is willing to go for his own self-interest with lack of regard for how it impacts everyone else. he has absolutely no concern for how anyone else feels besides himself, willing to go so far as to attempt to mutilate a 9-year-old to achieve his petty goals.
Turbo is shameless when it comes to how he goes about getting his way. While I'd like to believe he isn't fully incapable of feeling regret, he doesn't showcase feeling it in the movie itself. The most regret he'll feel is when he slips up and exposes himself. anything else is the fault of everyone else; he is untouchable in his eyes.
DECEITFUL TENDENCIES + LYING
Where do i even start with this one.
well, first of all, let's acknowledge the... erm, horse? in the room? 🐎😅(Please someone help me there is a horse in my room help helphel) being that Turbo went under disguise as King Candy for at least a decade. Even before this, there's a good chance that he's already had plenty of experience with lies and manipulation. i'd be willing to bet on this!!
one of his specialties is being proficient in manipulation, be it the code of games or the minds of people. theyre basically the same thing to him, anyway... I'm sure you all know the scene where he uses 16 manipulation tactics against Ralph and wins. this was Obviously not the first time he'd done this.
REPETITION OF HARMFUL BEHAVIORS
Time and time again, Turbo can't seem to help himself when it comes to poor decision-making. he never internalizes that his bad choices aren't JUST bad for others, but also for himself, continuing to escalate further and further into very dangerous behaviors until he literally dies.
Here's a list of bad decisions he has made! (at least, that we know of)
Pinning himself above his peers
Harassment + stalking
Carelessly charging through GCS with his car, endangering countless civilians
Attempting to take over a game that isn't his x2
Vehicular manslaughter
Implied mass murder + attempted murder, attempted mutilation
Mass endangerment
Breaking and entering, theft, usurpation, plagiarism
and more!!!!!!!
AND HE LEARNS FROM ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THIS!!! with some of the items listed here, he's attempted to do multiple times! Absolute buffoon.
RECKLESS DISREGARD FOR SAFETY OF SELF AND OTHERS
Considering how he was willing to charge into a game that wasn't his own with the awareness that it could permanently kill him, going as far as to recklessly crash into another car (albeit it's possible this was unintentional), it's easy to gather that he doesn't seem to consider anyone's safety at all in the spur of the moment.
IMPULSITIVITY
his impulsivity and disregard for safety both go hand-in-hand. When it gets to a certain point, Turbo's emotions will boil over and blow up in a cold rage, thus causing him to spiral and act on impulse, becoming a detrimental force to himself as well as everyone around him.
What's interesting is how much restraint he is capable of; he typically is very strategic in how he orchestrates his plans! but once he reaches his breaking point, he snaps and leaves all of his hard work behind in favor of something that calls for his immediate attention.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💥 ETC. 💥
extra tidbits i didnt have enough energy to fully delve into :-]
BPD
Fear of abandonment
Blurry sense of identity
Feelings of emptiness
Self destructive tendencies
Emotional instability
Explosive anger
ODD (oppositional defiant disorder)
He seems so infatuated with his own autonomy that he gets to the point of being resistant and defiant
Resisting against the rules of the world that he directly caused as a result of his own actions, being that one shouldn't "go Turbo."
Enjoys upsetting/getting a rise out of others. this is more speculative as i am going off of the assumption that he thinks pissing people off is funny, based on his other behavioral patterns. (cruel sense of humor, wanting to feel above others via control & manipulation, enjoyment of inflicting pain onto others)
Forcefully defends himself and refuses any kind of criticism
Lashes out when he feels slighted
Excessive persistence despite all odds, whether it's beneficial to him or not
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok bye!! thank you if you managed to read this far ^^ peace and love take care of yourself! all in all turbo is so neurodivergent ok please Okay <3 get this thing his meds

They are winners...Elumax
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st place... MadMax ranking 1st (I have an idea what the number might be about - it's probably math based. 751.300...)
And these two wake up, greeted in a similar way and... They are winners?
Tumblr media
(*)
Notice how Lucas is in the physical world and El in a memory.
Yeah, they'll win.
Tumblr media
The two lovers. They fought for her, Lucas in the physical world and El in the mind, and they'll win. (Or technically have even if it doesn't look like it) - in this scene only El is a "ghost", it's her mind avatar (she had blood stains her physical self doesn't on her shirt) while the Lucas & Max we see are a physical representation of them.
Tumblr media
Incidentally the differences in appearance is also very much like in Matrix with Neo and others do look different in the real world and in the virtual reality.
But nonetheless... We have two winners here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elumax.
And the fact that Lucas is in the physical world and El in the mind, these paralleled scenes in daylight and in darkness, kinda tell you who is the lover in which realm. Both come with a catch. But they...won't be unhappy.
...........................
I know, you don't believe me but for those who do:
Lumax's love language is vision (which according to the established rules can be absorbed from others) and ElMax is touch - that Max won't directly see Lucas, yet through someone else, she will and not be able to touch El physically but only in the mind are the probably the downsides of their relationships.
Tumblr media
It's quite obvious that putting a character in this kind of situation in a supernatural show, is meant to be resolved in a way that is in line with the genre rules. This isn't a realistic drama show but one which uses supernatural elements as metaphors. And if harming a character in a supernatural way is possible, the reverse is within the actual rules of that particular universe and the genre...besides: It's fiction. Especially the movie date is foreshadowing which leads to the question: How? Not if.
Besides: Elumax would have an insane amount of representation. A biracial hetero-relationship, a poly, a homosexual relationship, a disabled girl that is also healed through queer love (blind and not blind at the same time bc of DID which did truly happen, a woman misdiagnosed with brain damage because after an accident she was blind but it turned out that she has multiple personality disorder), a positive representation of DID through this, Max being trans coded..... I think it speaks for itself.
PS: *I think Herobylers noticed these scenes but I'm not sure.

Note
the obvious defense of this point would be that Victoria is simply supposed to be Wrong About It, which I would love, except that the narrative very carefully bends to make sure that Victoria is Always Right, and ESPECIALLY Always Right about Cape Science
[ context: the quote we're talking about: “I guess it doesn’t make sense as a thing powers would do.  Powers tend to steer clear of the suicidal, the helpless, the invalid, or people who are limited.” ]
my best guess as to what wildbow meant, if he put any thought into this at all? this is ward's version of the scene in worm that goes out of its way to make clear that labyrinth is not autistic and had a "normal" mind before her trigger (and the similar clarification about bitch). wildbow didn't want to write about developmental disabilities, probably because he thought he didn't know enough about the subject not to mess up and get in trouble for writing something offensive, so his solution was to just state that no one in parahumans is meant as "representation" of that demographic and avoid the issue altogether. this at least makes some kind of sense, if you are wildbow.
the obvious issue here is that this quote doesn't just single out developmental disabilities, but is phrased broadly enough to apply to almost any kind of illness or disorder. worm presents superpowers as explicitly tied to a traumatic event and as a metaphor for the effects of trauma, and experiencing other forms of illness and distress make someone much more likely to process an event as a trauma, so logically, mentally ill and disabled people should be overrepresented in the parahuman population (feeling "helpless" or distressed enough to be suicidal are common elements to many parahuman triggers), and the ways capes tend to act in the text of both books consistently reflect this. the only other explanation i can think of is that we're using an extremely restrictive definition of mental disorders (i.e. we're being the guy who thinks adhd isn't a real neurotype, so imp and kid win don't count, and low-empathy is just code for being a bad person, so cradle doesn't count, and so on...), and even that doesn't explain why we're claiming physically disabled people also can't get powers, when wildbow has written about it happening plenty of times (thank you @john-cherry-the-6th for bringing up this wog about triggers in suicidal people that includes the trigger event of a coma patient). also, we've seen that powers can cure illnesses as part of the trigger (see: vikare, famously the first hero ever, whose powers manifesting cured his cancer) if they really need to (they don't even do it all the time if the host isn't dying and can still fight with the power, like genesis), so why would they care if a prospective host is disabled? but whatever--let's disregard all evidence to the contrary and assume that all capes were 100% Mentally Normal (a very objective standard) before their triggers, so their erratic behavior after triggering must be purely the influence of their superpowers.
of course, now we have to go back to the first part of the quote. victoria claims that she doesn't think it's likely that finale's powers would affect her mental development after she manifested them, because powers want their hosts to be able and ready for action. so that can't be why capes like labyrinth and bitch exist, either; powers avoid choosing "limited" people as hosts and they also don't want to make their hosts limited, therefore all parahumans must be healthy because shards want healthy hosts. except there's absolutely no way any scientific study of parahumans in this world would come to this conclusion! scores of therapists run themselves ragged dealing with the various complexes of just the heroic capes, and capes on the "villainous" side are understood to be, on average, even more unstable! victoria has been working with jessica yamada, who definitely knows this, for ages! what the fuck is she talking about!
CONCLUSION: ??? wildbow got confused while writing about his own setting's alien brain parasites and started describing yeerks instead

Miss Cammie Dawn Masterpost
INTRODUCTION
Hi all! Welcome to my combination psychology, hypnokink, fandom and personal blog! I post a ton about hypnosis mostly with a side order of mental health stuff because kink and Bad Brain are all that are on my mind.
I had bad experiences compartmentalizing my online presence years back so I keep everything in one place these days. Prevents self-loathing and impulsively deleting blogs when the shame wins. It's an all or nothing deal. Sorry about that.
We are American but born and raised in England. We have red hair. Are in our 30s at time of writing and have been active in the hypnosis community since our late teens. Presently we are prioritizing working with educators at hypnokink events and doing photoshoots where and when I can.
We are transgender, having started social transition in 2019 and HRT in 2020. We identify as transgender and consider it a very large part of who we are. We're not fond of that fact being erased, even if we mostly adhere to the gender binary in terms of our presentation.
We are sex-averse asexual but involved in kink. Our blog is adult only but we're not really that big on overt eroticism. Even the hypnokink smut we write is 100% fluff with no sex scenes.
We are fairly open about our DID diagnosis (noting that we approach our own condition through a lens of psychopathology) and the treatment we are in. We are a system of 5 though we still try to present as a single individual outside of close relationships.
Our tagging system is mostly a switch counter for tracking if any of us are missing to report to our therapist. Though we do answer individual asks on request, pending a member's presence.
We try to do what we can to walk the line between not suppressing our individual expression(s) without glorifying our condition and erecting further divide between parts. I avoid syscourse where I can and typically do not advertise specific things about my parts, we are all "me" just in different lights so I'll never post stuff like individual ages/genders or such. I'm open about the condition but private about the circumstances and manifestations. Please respect that.

BrBa is just old white men dicking around with the forbidden and idk if everyone already knew this but I'm very late to the party sooooo: Hank Schrader is not The Hero - The Optics of Breaking Bad
- as of s4 e13 (i know what happens tho so don't bother)
corny ahh title. deal w it. writing this has been upside down 4, 3, double hockey sticks. this is like my 4th draft. live laugh ʟoʙoτomize me.
Hank Schrader is hailed as morally upright, within and independent of the show’s contexts, The/A Hero of Breaking Bad: the True protagonist. It’s not a position I miscomprehend or refute (Hank is granted idealisation from an unideal world), in fact its synthetic with my lens. Hank is a poʟice officer, well off, cisʜet wʜiτe man. He is both the conventional protagonist and the everyday man (Youtuber Aleczandxr notes this). A familiar figure that emulates; and evokes conventional American Dream aspirations. Audiences have an affinity for that which they identify with. And that is our conventional Euяoceиtяic narrative (poʟice officer, well off, wʜiτe cisʜet), one I think is inherently persecuting (as to facilitate priviʟɢe [ — the intersection of defining and prevalent social and surplus marginalizing systems/edificial societal mechanisms through aʙʟeιsϻ, ʜoϻopʜoʙιa, яacisϻ, classism etc]). This isn’t a consequence, rather a mechanism, one people embrace per convention.
Hank is thusly: The American Hero, but not The Hero.
Here’s the [obligatory (very skippable)] full scope of Hank Schrader: (summary for the detailed list: ur boy porkie manifested destiny or whatever.) —Hank is well off, liked, chemically balanced, no personality, mood or neurological disorders, middle aged, in good health/not immunocompromised, only temporarily disabled but otherwise ablebodied, experienced, has access to resources and opportunities, no prison record, good wife, stable relationships, supported, married, financially secure, able to work/working, largely unaffected by fatphobia/average size, mentally well (he is suffering from ptsd but he's relatively ok), an underdog of sorts/not too elevated in status, "civil[ized]", has a position of power, admired, holds conventional values, does societally encouraged/praised things, comfortable, has consistent cash flow, a stable home, employed (and when unemployed, still has opportunities from his pseudo-former employment), presumably from a "good" home, [monoracially/visibly] wʜiτe, english speaking, from america/the global north, a citizen, a [seemingly] cisʜet man, neurotypical, not an addιcτ (i think. . . minerals.), housed, working in corporate, working within capιτaʟisτ bounds, benefits from capιtaʟism, is an arm of the state through carceral punishment, and is gender conforming, etc (probably). —
He is the posterboy for our idea of the everyday man, [he’s] what is platformed by society. The face of every cop movie, buddy comedy, success story. The cool uncle, the funny cop, the good guy. Somebody with potential and the opportunity to win. Inherently coloured as good, deserving, to be protected and an audience surrogate/point of empathy.
Though there is some obfuscation with colouring Hank as intrinsically good, as anticipated accusations of overthinking, sensitivity, harmlessness, time periods etc are sure to shield him.
And I still don’t disagree.
It’s part of his package, a facet of those who would fight to protect what they love and a loved facet of what they protect. Hank is after all - mundane, benign, and as such all that he does is coloured with that levity (the interpersonal/social conflated with the societal). The brushing off, the sidelining and the normalising. He is the normative, facetious functioning of a Euяoceиtяic system. He allows for indulgence and mindlessness, a comfort in the consɜяvaτιve. The most honest and even insight into the accepted optics of the everyday. As I wrote in my previous drafts: Hank is then, to me, [not a Messiah, but] a conduit through which the societal intricacies of Breaking Bad are elucidated & is a holistic representation of BrBa socially, alongside its accompanying norms. Meaning: the optics and scope of the universe and its circumstances.
Opposingly, those diametric to Hank, The Other[s] - comprising the [neglected] bulk of “us”/our population: poc, druɢ addicts, criminals, financially insecure ppl, the impoverished etc (hierarchical levels/positions separate the outliers too - eg. Gus is blk, but rich, or Jesse is a criminal, but wʜiτe); are beneficiaries of mistreatment [through him and his system], dehumanized (due to their position being conflated with inherent moral failing. failure to conform to accepted standards means failure to be good) where Hank is The ultimate huMan [as one so human/so good, Hank sees it as his rite, and has been bestowed with the power to judge, use, punish and execute those who fail at righteousness by not being like or as good as him], relegated and commodified: backdrops through which purpose is assigned.
Hank being rendered a microcosm necessitates nothing is exclusive to him however; and so goodness is granted based on proximity or adherence and support of those with [at least some] conventional characteristics.
His antithetical contradictions (representationally abounding in canon) however, are those I see as the humane center and sympathetic party[s] of BrBa (they are without agency, and compelled by the world around them. pure in a sense, their true sin having been born who they are). For the ‘us of “us”’ (the Everyday Man among the rest of a disenfranchised majority) who are aligned to the secluded relatability of BrBa: [ - those bubbled within the narrow segment of our population living firmly within upper class/”civil” society] BrBa is about revelry, playing at the forbidden and costuming yourself in it. As I explored in drafts previous: There was a conflict in interest and feelings in Hank’s clash with Walt (convention vs freedom, ideal vs risk. — People flirting with the idea of danger/lawlessness - adorned by another wʜiτe man they can identify with (so its not too bad). An equal battle in which the moral nature, alignment and priority of the viewer is teased). The platformed curators of BrBa aren’t comprised of or inclined/prioritizing those predisposed to [aforementioned] exploitations compounded through identity, circumstance and powerlessness (in and out of canon). Being underprivileged, impoverished, struggling and having inaccess to luxury or comfort are abstract or at least somewhat distant to the comfortable average person who is BrBa’s us.
The viewers who rendered BrBa a piece of siɢϻa revelry identify with Walt, but they respect Hank and/because they are him [rn] (i.e. he feeds into siɢϻa tenets and he’s the personification of the system).
This disregard, disassociation and commodification [from the empowered] is a salient facet of Hank's aforementioned dehumanization. Firstly, Hank’s occupation is that of an agent of the for profit prison industrial complex that disproportionately targets those he dehumanizes, who are oftentimes born into restrictive positions of oppяɜssioи and dehumanization (left to diɜ, starve, work for minimal pay, ɑbuse druɢs, be tɜrrorizɜd by gangs etc), secondly, my first recollection of Hank (which was in his first scene me thinks) is him saying the aиτi-mexican b-sʟuя, and later saying the [siиopʜoʙɩc] c-sʟuя, not to mention his frequent semi self directed abʟɜιsτ sentiment.
This, like everything, is not unique to him, with Jesse dispensing ʜoϻopʜoʙιc sentiments as well as other sʟuяs and his catchphrase being ʙiτcʜ, Brandon saying the r-sʟuя; (i probably missed other characters), as well as other characters espousing "bigoted"/marginalizing sentiment: Walt listing his son's cerebral palsy as one of his problems (im sure there are costs and consequences for Jnr's [should i call him Flynn?? im going to call him flynn] condition but they're seemingly no more severe in canon [so far] than a child without cerebral palsy), Marie and her 3rd world comments, etc. POC aesthetics also influence the speech, persona and lifestyle of Jesse, Skinny (sksk) and Brandon; (yo), and dogwhistle illicitness and non-normativeness/deviation.
Euяoceиtяicisϻ is never positioned as erroneous or [a] mockery - ‘cracker’ or gringo is never weaponized or employed, “ϻisandяisτ” (aиτi conventional or even aиτi toxic masculinity) disparagement or jokes are never propagated, wʜiτeиess is never funny. Wʜiτeиess is never commodity, never stripped of its humanity to be worn and discarded and used.
The only time it is, is in Texas[???] (or México?? im still confused about where Hank went). — BrBa is already heavily influenced by poc culture, especially Latin culture/México, with the only poc group (and the least platformed) unmarred by illicitness (imo/as far as i can see) being Native American ppl (who are called indians in canon just to add), but are still used as props and a playing field for the affairs of those within the establishment (cooks and poʟice investigations, ʙяiʙinɢ and tip offs, ϻuяdɜяɜd bodies and sτoʟɜn belongings).
- (obligatory deviant rundown:) Someone like Gus is assumed to be innocent bc of his civility, his class status, his business and his poʟice affiliation (respectability politics). Despite this, he’s heavily suspected by Hank. His criminal activity and empire are seen as objectionable, but the people he affects are negligible and barely helped (funrun lmao) – the war on drugs and controlling and persecuting illicitness and underground establishments are what is seen as actually important. Walter being left to die of cancer by a for profit healthcare system is just, but him dealing to pay for his treatment is objectionable. Saul is unsuspecting due to his agreeable personality, charm and conventionality. The deviant life that is claimed by the system is fine (Tuco, ATM guy, the twins, Gale) but Hank’s grievous injury is evil and horrific. The justifications Walt supplies for meth are warped but Hank’s indulgence in the taboo through the cigar is recreational fun. Little children can be neglected by impoverished crackhead parents that will never be afforded help, but are seen as rotten apples when they grow up to become Combo’s or live as Tomas’. Someone like Jesse is braggadocious and recalcitrant and wears the demeanour and conduct of the disenfranchised to intimidate and rebel, along with his friends, which doubly signifies their criminality, as well as being heavily involved with poc. Jesse aims to sell to the impoverished and vulnerable people in rehab, and he breaks the sobriety of his close friends. Andrea is dissuaded from drug use by Jesse (a pink man), and only has this done when Jesse discovers her child, who he sees as good and unworthy of exploitation or suffering. And most of the “good poc” are in the force, with the others being found within the confines of the criminal underworld or engaging in illicit activity like the sτoͷɜя janitor. — Deviance itself is seen as an antagonist force that is to be purged and punished, and deviants are seen as less valuable, and as aforementioned, less human than those whose harm is validated, prioritized and platformed.
So, Hank finds himself in a spanish speaking, poc centric region in which his staunch and unflinching wʜiτe[hegemony] alienates him. People speak Spanish despite and because of him, he is mockingly called wʜiτe boy and told to learn the commanding language, he is spoken down to and disregarded by his peers.
The Euяoceиtяic audience, like their audience surrogate, probably feels slighted on his behalf, like the natural order of things has been undeservingly and unjustly slanted.
‘Hank is in a hostile environment in which the people mistreat, belittle and alienate him. He is supposed to/deserves to be on top, he isnt actually supposed to face hardship and adversity’ - are his supporter’s probable reactions.
Well, Hank is getting what he gives.
Hank is visibly uncomfortable and affronted, attempting to brute force this world according to his world’s ways, unable and unwilling to be subsumed and relent to something not his own.
But his Euяoceиtяicisϻ does him no favours. He is faced with the dehumanized as Human. Stripped of his ultimate power and authority - his domineering status as The HuMan. The Hero.
Outside of his little, slim bubble, Hank is just another Euяoceиtяic, wʜiτe cop, and no friend of those he sneers at.
In this way, the typical “wʜiτe person in the hood” narrative we’re so used to, in which the aesthetics of the outliers are appropriated and the natives uplift, embrace and teach the whiboi (white saviorism lite) are more reminiscent of Hank’s Euяoceиtяic predeterminations: the ppl he sneers at are different to him, they’re alien, he doesn’t like their ways, they don’t embrace him/his norm, a norm he considers correct. They’re different. They are wrong.
This elicits more of a: scary outliers feel, the unsafe unknown, the dangerous other- the other as wrongness, an inherent, hostile and anti-wʜiτe/right wrongness (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1qYecnkrBk).
A guy who went from desecrating the body of a deceased drug dealer of colour and proudly posing with his lifeless body was brought back to earth with Tortuga and his head on a tortoise, and was further grounded by the violence and carnage befalling the officers around him.
Suddenly, a guy who sees it all as bad guys and good guys and boring until it gets fun was faced with the harsh nature of morality and the value of human life, humaneness and the sentience of others.
This ofc did not change him, as he still defensively says that people like Flynn who are in crutches should be in the hospital, which is reinforcing of his previous masking of Flynn’s condition as an accident garnered from him playing football. He mistreats Marie (like all the time. seriously), he treats Jesse as disposable, he mocks Gale and his passions despite his gruesome murder, and is ofc informed by a history of promulgating that the world would be better off without addicts, inferring that they are subhuman, that criminals deserve inhumane treatment and misfortune and treating the suffering of the disenfranchised and their aesthetics as unimportant and less than.
There’s ofc more to say, for example - his aиτi-mexican jokes with Steve and his employees, his reactionary humor, his mistreatment of people with less social power than him like Steve and Marie when he’s feeling disempowered, his humiliation of Wendy, excusing and assisting his kleptomaniac and compulsively lying wife, him getting promoted to Texas before Steve despite being more reckless, the corruption of the DEA thru advising Hank not to tell the truth, bailing out his wife and providing Hank with work after ass*ulting Jesse (as well as their exploitative interrogation practices), his wife’s very aиτi-addicτ sentiment and her readiness to condemn Jesse for Hank, as well as her entitlement and blaming when he was in surgery (it was a trauma response. ik), including other stuff that’s probably slipped my mind. — Hank’s position as someone granted inherent goodness allows for the moralizing of his hypocrisies and vices. He is assumed to be operating from a place of goodness, so the consequences of his actions are good, and the people they harm are deserving.
However, I’ll conclude through saying that the vulnerable, as I’ve touched upon, are equally human, with often limited or no power to subjugate others (and are therefore pure or innocent in terms of their lack of power as oppressors and agents/arbiters of harm).
We see through characters like Jane (a conventional individual) that when given the opportunity, they can thrive, be happy and conform.
Though the potential for conformity is not why I see the disenfranchised as BrBa’s moral heart. I see people who breaking bad truly revolves around: the silent and overlooked victims of the war on drugs, the system and carceral punishment; glimpsed as Jesse sold them blue. I see poor people, some dirty, some homeless, some gaunt and ɑddicτɜd. I see poc, I see immigrants and sickly individuals, children, women, old people. Disenfranchised and marginalized further as they’re sold druɢs, unalived, kept in poverty and imprisoned. All rendered pawns and things that have violence and autonomy enacted on them, despite the crux of the show happening within their space, being interwoven into their world and concerning their people, culture and lifestyles.
People who never got an opportunity to be anything other than what they are (until they were embraced by the system).
I see the disenfranchised as a representation of a struggle for existence and humanity.
As a song I like quotes [Montessori's Own Handbook]:
The ancient philosophical discussion as to whether many of us are good or evil Is often brought forward in connection with my method Considering that to leave children free is a dangerous mistake Since they have in them innate tendencies to evil. The tendencies which WE stigmatize as evil Are often merely those which cause annoyance to us adults. It is we who provoke the children to the violent manifestations Of a real struggle for existence And wrest from them the objects of their desire. Evidently, the question of absolute good and evil Intuitive ideas Goes beyond such limitations as these
We can always say that we have made a contribution To the cause of goodness By removing obstacles which were the cause of violence and of rebellion Let us render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's And unto God the things that are God's And unto God the things that are God's
This is the prevailing morality that informs BrBa and our internalization of it. People who may as well be infants under a punitive, guiding authority being expected to conform, provide and assist the mechanism of wʜiτe supremacy.
And therein is born a friction: the stories of the sidelined underclass fighting for the right to exist humanely.
And most importantly, therein lies BrBa’s most sympathetic/empathetic parties, and the disempowered moral center of the show. — Where the evolution (and devolution) of inherently unadultered people takes place.
Hank is no Hero, he is not selfless, he is not noble, he does not fight for the oppressed or those who cannot fight for themselves, he fights for the establishment, and his social praxis is one of Euяoceиtяicisϻ. He is the social and societal edifice of Euяoceиtяicisϻ and the establishment, unmotivated by bettering or elevating others, but by preserving the norm and convention.
There is no True Hero of Breaking Bad. Perhaps glimpses in the actions and lives of those disempowered and attempting to do/be good - Skyler, Andrea, Jesse, Mike, Peter, Brandon etc. (But at the end of the day, they're all human. And despite the norm's classifications: there are no absolute goods or evils)
If i were to go into the detailed complexities of the racial and social nuances and optics of BrBa I’d be here all day and I don’t want to bc its taken me literal daaaayss to write this and I’m tired and I don’t like Hank. I laughed when he got popped. I laughed. Anyways, bye or smth. I hope this made sense. If it didn’t, too bad.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this one but Diavolo/Doppio is genuinely one of the best depictions of DID I've seen!!!! When people think of DID in media, they think of Split (absolutely awful movie btw) and the only good example I can even think of outside of Diavolo/Doppio is Moon Knight slsks. It doesn't go for the easy "OH MY GOSH MY EVIL PERSONALITY IS TAKING OVE!1!1!" And there's a fair bit of thought put into them. Speaking as a system personally (hell I even have a fictive named Doppio), I find much of Doppio/diavolo's arc relatable. Its refreshing not seeing DID so blatantly misunderstood and demonized. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. There are still issues but overall and especially given when vento auereo was written, it's a portrayal that doesn't perpetuate negative stigmas or relies on gross mischaracterizations. Also, they didn't call it split personality disorder/multiple personality disorder which is an automatic win in my book.
OH I'M REALLY REALLY HAPPY YOU SHARED THESE THOUGHTS??? i love having input on things i don't have enough knowledge about! bc i always thiught diavolo/doppio sucked as representation (but i TOTALLY agree that split sucks like it's... awful)
and i'm sooooo happy you see yourself in diavolo/doppio! it's really really cool :)

How can I win divorce case against my wife in India?
Tumblr media
Introduction: Understanding the Legal Landscape
Divorce proceedings in India can be complex and emotionally challenging. As you navigate through this difficult time, it's crucial to have the right guidance and legal support to ensure a favorable outcome. At Divorce Lawyer Dwarka, we specialize in providing comprehensive legal assistance to individuals seeking resolution in their divorce cases.
Understanding the Legal Grounds for Divorce in India
In India, divorce can be granted under various grounds as per the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, the Special Marriage Act, 1954, and the Indian Divorce Act, 1869. Understanding these grounds is essential for building a strong case.
Grounds for Divorce in India
Adultery: If either spouse engages in voluntary sexual intercourse with a person other than their spouse, it constitutes adultery, which is a valid ground for divorce.
Cruelty: Continuous physical or mental cruelty inflicted by one spouse upon the other can be cited as grounds for divorce.
Desertion: If one spouse abandons the other for a continuous period of not less than two years, it can be considered as desertion and a ground for divorce.
Conversion: If one spouse ceases to be a Hindu and converts to another religion, it can be a valid ground for divorce.
Mental Disorder: If a spouse suffers from a mental disorder that makes marriage impossible, it can be grounds for divorce.
Renunciation of the World: If one spouse renounces the world by entering any religious order, it can be a ground for divorce.
Presumption of Death: If the spouse has not been heard of as being alive for a period of seven years or more, the other party may obtain a presumption of death and thus, a divorce.
Building Your Case: Strategies for Success
When preparing to win your divorce case, it's essential to approach it strategically and meticulously. Here are some key strategies to consider:
#1. Gather Evidence
Collecting evidence to support your claims is crucial in divorce proceedings. This may include communication records, financial documents, witness statements, and any other relevant documentation that strengthens your case.
#2. Seek Expert Legal Counsel
Navigating the legal complexities of divorce requires expertise and experience. Working with a seasoned Divorce Lawyer Dwarka can provide you with the guidance and representation needed to effectively present your case in court.
#3. Negotiate Amicably (if Possible)

#4. Stay Focused on Your Goals
During this challenging time, it's easy to let emotions cloud your judgment. However, staying focused on your goals and objectives will help you make informed decisions and navigate the legal proceedings with clarity and confidence.

How To Define A Good Plush Toy? Defining a good plush toy involves considering several key factors that cater to both safety and enjoyment. Here's a breakdown of what to look for: Material Quality: The plush toy should be made of high-quality, durable materials that are soft and pleasant to the touch. Fabrics should be non-toxic and hypoallergenic, especially for children who are sensitive to certain materials. Safety: This is crucial, especially for toys intended for young children. Ensure there are no small parts that could be choking hazards. The toy should be well-constructed so that seams don't easily rip open, and the stuffing or any other internal parts remain inside. Age Appropriateness: The toy should be suitable for the age of the user. For infants and toddlers, it should have no loose buttons or parts and should be easily washable. For older children, you can consider plush toys with more features or those that are part of a collectible series. Softness and Comfort: One of the main appeals of plush toys is their softness. They should feel comfortable and cozy, inviting hugs and cuddles. Design and Appeal: The toy should have an appealing design. This could be a cute animal, a character from a popular media franchise, or any other design that attracts its target audience. The colors should be bright and engaging for children, or appropriately styled for the tastes of older collectors. Easy to Clean: Plush toys should be easy to clean, either by being machine washable or easy to wipe down, as they can accumulate dirt and germs over time. Educational Value: For younger children, plush toys that offer some educational value, like those that include sounds, textures, or other sensory elements, can be beneficial. Brand Reputation and Reviews: Consider purchasing from reputable brands known for quality and safety. Also, check customer reviews to gauge the experiences of others with the product. Certifications: Look for toys that have passed safety certifications and standards relevant to your country or region (like ASTM, CE, or ISO standards). By considering these factors, you can find a plush toy that is not only enjoyable and attractive but also safe and suitable for its intended recipient. In addition to the points already mentioned, here are a few more aspects to consider when defining a good plush toy: Durability: A good plush toy should withstand regular play and affection. It's important that the toy doesn't wear out too quickly, especially if it becomes a favorite item for a child. Check for strong stitching and quality fabric that can endure frequent handling. Ethical Manufacturing: For those concerned with ethical considerations, it's worth looking into how the plush toy is made. Ethically produced toys are made in factories that follow fair labor practices and have good working conditions. Some people also prefer toys made with environmentally friendly processes and materials. Personalization Options: Customization can make a plush toy more special, especially if it's a gift. Some companies offer options to personalize toys with names, custom clothing, or accessories, making them unique. Sensory Features: For children with special sensory needs or preferences, a plush toy with varied textures, weights, or built-in sensory tools can be beneficial. These can include features like crinkly fabrics, different types of softness, or light vibrations. Cultural Representation: Plush toys that represent different cultures, traditions, or characters from a wide range of backgrounds can be a great way for children to learn about diversity and inclusivity. Therapeutic Use: Some plush toys are designed for therapeutic purposes, such as weighted toys for comfort or those with calming features for children with anxiety or sensory processing disorders. Versatility: A good plush toy can sometimes serve multiple purposes. For example, some plush toys double as night lights, music boxes, or even storage. Award-Winning or Highly Recommended: Toys that have received awards from child development or toy industry organizations can often be a good choice, as they have been recognized for their quality, innovation, or educational value. When selecting a plush toy, considering these additional factors can help ensure that the toy is not only fun and safe but also beneficial in various ways to its recipient.

In Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning performance in his portrayal of Batman’s most notorious villain in The Dark Knight, he said, “As you know, madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little push.” The film, the actor, and real life orchestrated a cacophony that sends a chill up my spine to this very day. When I used to run the ScHoFan Critique Group in the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society, I remember a time when I introduced a story with a suicide narrative. It was then that I learned how using the wrong language could trigger a negative response. I never wrote that story, becoming aware that reinforcing certain stereotypes of people with mental illnesses was dangerous and could cause real-life discrimination, or worse, harm. There have actually been novels, which I will not name out of sensitivity to the subject, that led to a copycat effect that increased by more than 300% after one of those novels was published. That is a stunning number. In this article, I’d like to discuss whether horror writers should start exploring how to develop characters with severe mental illnesses with fairer and more accurate representation, how writing certain stories actually increases copycat responses, and what stories are out there in the horror genres that chose to tread different paths of presenting mental illness. Does the DC film Joker: Put On A Happy Face portray the character as a psychopath or a mentally ill person? The film creates empathy for the character, and portrays him as a person that has a difficult time dealing with an array of physical abuse. When the supervillain first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book Batman on April 25, 1940, the joker was introduced as a psychopathic prankster with a warped sense of humor. Forensic psychiatrist Vasilis K. Ponzios, M.D., says, “There is still a misunderstanding to the portrayal of insanity in the Batman films and movies and what it means to be legally insane.” He goes on to say, “For instance, the Joker has been hospitalized at the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane, even though in real life he probably wouldn’t qualify … Just because a behavior is aberrant … it does not mean the behavior is a result of mental illness.” The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders does not list insanity as a disorder. According to one article I read, hallucinations, delusions, and incoherent speech, which are traits of a severe mental disorder, are not usually the characteristics of a master criminal. Dr. Hannibal Lecter is the main character we all hate to love in a series of suspense novels by Thomas Harris. A brilliant and sophisticated forensic psychiatrist in the day, and a cannibalistic serial killer by night. To my knowledge, the portrayal of that character was not diagnosed with a mental illness. However, iconic horror characters in the Halloween and Friday the 13thfranchises play with the idea that psychopathic serial killers are mentally ill. Eventually, both characters are committed to mental institutions. In real life, these characters would be in a penitentiary, and/or on death row.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A BRAIN INJURY?
Whether regulating our breathing, heart rate, capacity to wake up, or even how we feel about ourselves and the world, the brain is the most powerful organ in the body. When the brain is injured, it can't repair itself very well and usually stops working correctly. Due to variables such as injury severity, brain plasticity, brain area, and even brain hemisphere, it is impossible to predict the outcome of any patient who has had a brain injury.
In the United States, around 2 million people have brain injuries yearly.
Examples of such things might be–
Non-congenital, non-degenerative, and non-traumatic brain injuries, all of which are acquired brain injuries.
Electrical shock, near-drowning, chemical exposure, neurotoxic poisonings like lead or carbon monoxide poisoning, stroke, and infectious diseases like meningitis and encephalitis are all examples of non-traumatic acquired brain injuries.
Acquired brain trauma can result from a fall from a great height, an assault in the workplace, a gunshot wound, or even participation in a contact sport like football or soccer.
Some of the possible deficiencies that may be gained along with the damage include:
Language barriers, both verbal and mental deficiencies in the recall
change in one's ability to smell or taste
Symptoms include ringing in the ears or diminished hearing,
Vision impairment, Coordination, and balance problems
lack self-regulation, whether, of feelings, actions, or both
Disrupted reasoning
Sequencing issues; trouble arranging ideas logically
Inability to recognize one's strengths
Affective disorders, such as depression and anxiety
Brain death is defined as the inability to breathe on one's own.
DIFFICULTIES ASSOCIATED WITH BRAIN INJURIES
Coma is a state of unconsciousness caused by brain damage that lasts longer than 24 hours. The coma may lead to a minimally conscious or chronic vegetative state.
Consciousness issues aren't the only thing that can go wrong after a brain injury.
Caused by brain enlargement and fluid accumulation, increased cranial pressure. Brain cells are already vulnerable, but swelling and fluid accumulation can worsen the situation by cutting off oxygen and nutrients. Surgery, anti-inflammatory medicine, and a shunt to drain the extra fluid are common treatments for this potentially fatal condition.
The lack of oxygen-rich blood reaching the brain results from low blood pressure.
Because the brain regulates body temperature, an injury to that area might cause the patient to run dangerously high fevers, especially in the initial few hours after the accident.
Long periods of bed rest can cause pneumonia by preventing the body from clearing the lungs of accumulated toxins.
Infections
Injury to the brain's protective membrane, known as the meninges, can lead to infection if the fracture or cut is deep enough. Further brain damage and other organ damage might result from an infection spreading across the body.
Clots in the blood vessels, including DVT and other thrombosis forms, form when people don't move about enough. Pulmonary embolus is a potentially fatal complication that can arise when a clot travels to the lungs—pressure sores. The inability to walk around for an extended time during healing might lead to skin breakdown. This condition is medically referred to as bedsores or pressure ulcers. Infection is an additional risk when dealing with pressure ulcers.
Post-concussion syndrome
Symptoms of a concussion include drowsiness, headaches, memory loss, and sleeplessness.
Seizures that start up after a person has sustained a head wound are called post-traumatic epilepsy. These fits typically manifest in the first few days after an accident but can persist for months or even years afterward.
Lowered hormone levels can lead to hypothyroidism, other illnesses, and hormonal shifts, which might affect the injured person's libido—lack of feeling or paralysis of the facial muscles.
Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders are more likely to develop in those with this gene.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the corruption of the main character
Warning: A lots of Spoilers
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners it´s an anime of 10 chapters based on the world of the game Cyberpunk 2077, the story take place in Night City, a futuristic city where the corruption, the cybernetic addiction and the gang violence abound. The city is controlled by two important corporations, MIlitech and Arasaka, which keeps a constant rivalry around their technological products. The plot unfolds around David Martinez, a teenager who for different reasons lost everything and choose to join to a gang of mercenaries or “Edgerunners” which wins the life based in the technology theft and the assassination.
In many series we can see how the protagonist change along the plot, progressing in the construction of their personality, where sometimes took goods and bad choices, what it is usual for a developing teenager, and as long as it grows it will deteriorate. I think Cyberpunk: Edgerunners had a very good representation of this, because we start with a David Martinez, immature, impulsive, temperamental, a full-blown teenager. Have economic problems that lead to be a victim of bullying, but as the events progress, we see how the character will fall slowly, starting with the first big event, the dead of his mother and his only family, fact that left him practically in the street and with debt everywhere. Thanks to the bullying don´t stop even with the death of his mother, he takes the decision of implant the “Sandevistan”, a cyberware, a kind of technological weapon of military nature implanted on his spine which allows him to move at superhuman speed, all this with the purpose to take revenge of his bullies.
(An important concept what is being said to us during the plot it´s the existence of the “Cyberpsycho”, are people who have suffered psychotic disorders in their personality related with the anxiety that entail certain amount of cyberware in the body and the stress accumulation)
Later he meets Lucy, a cyberpunk whose dream was to travel to the moon, in a bad way she takes him to meet to a mercenaries with which will work later. As the plot progress we will be witnesses how David risks his life in multiple times, as much as for the use of the Sandevistan as for the missions that slowly becomes more dangerous, including the time when he sees his own death related with the cyberpsychosis in a simulation called “Neurodance” what leaves him with certain trauma. Along with the above, he faces a job where several gang members die, including Maine, the leader and the father figure of David, death linked with a case of cyberpsychosis, what leads to David, time later, to become the leader of the gang. Now with the new position we found out that he has increased the numbers of cyberware implants, what makes the other characters close to David on alert for the fear to he becomes a cyberpsycho. Already in the last chapters, we found out that now he have a relation with Lucy, and we can see how his mind begins to deteriorate, despite now he had a more mature and adult appearance, it doesn´t take long to we know that he has started to have cyberpsychosis symptoms, accompanied by tremors and hallucinations that takes him to kill innocent people. Already in the end of the story, we see how David is forced to use a cyberskeleton in an attempt to save Lucy, all this because of Arasaka. David has almost completely lost his sanity and the medicines that helped him no longer work, he is only moved by the memory of his mother and being able to meet Lucy again. He tries to save Lucy and his friends with the little sanity that remains and finally he faces Smasher, an ex-military man working for Arasaka with the mission stop and kill David, purpose that fulfills. We finished with a scene of Lucy walking in the surface of the moon remembering the David she meets long time ago.
During the plot we see how David constantly faces extremely unfortunate events and even traumatizing, events that affect his mental health, causing diseases that we could describe as anxiety, depression, or posttraumatic stress. How I say previously, this it´s not too weird to see in another stories , a hero who is taken to the deepest of the abyss, but I think this case its such a good example, in 10 chapters we see how the main character lost his mind in the attempt of being someone strong and when the spectator still has a little hope with everything ending well, David die, leaving us with a bittersweet taste, because, although everything ended badly, at least fulfill one of his purposes and took Lucy to the moon.
