"In Slavic mythology, Perun (Cyrillic: Перýн) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of sky, thunder, lightning, storms, rain, law, war, fertility and oak trees. His other attributes were fire, mountains, wind, iris, eagle, firmament (in Indo-European languages, this was joined with the notion of the sky of stone), horses and carts, and weapons (hammer, axe (Axe of Perun), and arrow). The supreme god in the Kievan Rus' during the 9th-10th centuries, Perun was first associated with weapons made of stone and later with those of metal."

Perun's mother was the goddess of love and joy, Lada, and his father was the god of fire, Svarog. Perun is the leader god in Slavic mythos. He was associated with thunder, purification, and law and order. The signs of his presents are seen in lightning. It's heard in the clacking of stones when the ground shakes, bellows of bulls and goats, and the rumble of thunder. And it is felt in the bite of an ax's blade. Perun would ride across the sky pulled by fire breathing horses or goats to create the sound of thunder. One of the critical tales is the underworld god, Veles, stealing Perun's cattle or wife, Mokosz. Perun was so enraged that he struck Veles with lightning - Veles fled and went into hiding for quite some time as he shifted from animal to tree to person. Perun defeated Veles and sent him back to the underworld. This battle is said to occur yearly when the seasons change - the dry season is when Veles steals from Perun, the storms are the fight, while rain was the symbol of Perun's victory. IN MY OPINION Perun in a chart can represent a) where others look up to you, b) where you are a voice of reason, c) where you are powerful, and/or d) where you triumph against all odds.

As you have protected my ancestors in battles against their enemies, protect me from all evil, Perun of the Oak. Punish those who break oaths with me, for you have always been fond of justice and keeping promises. Gromovnik, King of the gods, thank you for being there for me.
