Background: Five years after the isle was created, a young couple—Princess Eilonwy of Llyr and Alexander Bluefairy-Carmelo—had their firstborn children.

Their firstborn children being a pair of twins: named Scarlet and Carter Bluefairy-Carmelo.

Carter and Scarlet grew up close as close could be and grew up hearing stories of the Coachmen, the Horned King, Captain Hook, the Queen of Hearts, and all the damage they (and other villains) had done when they were still running around and wreaking havoc.

Including but not limited to the Horned King murdering their maternal grandparents.

Because of this, Carter and Scarlet both grew up with a strong and utter hatred for villains, their henchmen, and anyone associated with them. Which of course leads to some tension when Soon-to-be King Ben announces his first ever proclamation which is bringing the isle kids over.

From the moment the vks get there both Carter and Scarlet are antagonistic but Hannah Hook, whose entire personality and utter sneakiness and grouchiness just screams that she's up to something diabolical. Which makes her a target for them.

Carter wants her gone and has his eyes on her.

Background: Six years after the Isle of the Lost was created, Sheldon Darling was born to two former children of Neverland (Sable Darling/one of the twins) and Cynthia (one of the lost kids).

He grew up an only child but was never lonely due to growing up with loads of cousins—and like his cousins, he grew up visiting Neverland and grew up hearing stories of the olden days.

Heard stories of Captain Hook's reign of terror and the horrors that the villains brought to Neverland.

Among stories of other villains’ reigns of terror.

Because of this, Sheldon or Shelly as he'd come to be known, came to view the isle as a good thing like many in Auradon and was quite upset when soon-to-be King Ben announced that the child of Captain Hook was coming to Auradon.

He didn't plan to do anything about it.

But then he saw the ‘cocky’ way Hannah Hook carried herself and how dismissive she was of her ‘friends’ and he got mad. Madder than he already was.

Madder than he had ever been in his life. So, he spoke to his fellow Never Kids, and formed a plan—the plan being to get rid of Hannah Hook at any cost.

And unlike many in Auradon, Sheldon actually figures out that his enemy is not, in fact, the fourteen-sixteen everyone assumed she was. Which made their goal seem all the more possible.

By the time she was four, she absolutely despised Auradon for taking her birthright from her, Merlin Academy and its staff for being useless, Yen Sid for his morals bs, and anyone related to Uliana's gang.

Which is why she targeted Zarina and Captain James Hook’s four year old daughter, the very moment she heard the other girl call her mommy. Kicking her hair, resting her desk on the back of hers, saying every mean thing she can think of, cutting her hair, and yanking on it when her insults were ‘ignored’.

Earning her a shift punch to the nose from a previously (and genuinely) oblivious Hannah Hook. Causing her nose to break and her hate for the other girl to grow enough for her to drag her friends (and her mother) into Olga’s crusade against the pirate.

But of course that couldn't last forever. Not with Olga Hearts and co gunning for Hannah Hook and not with the contract Hannah Hook had drawn up for her crew, which Rio signed.

Things came to a head when they were ten.

Rio got tired of hiding the fact she was friends with both of them and decided that she had to make a choice: Hannah Hook or Olga Hearts.

She got to thinking.

Olga Hearts? Couldn't care less what Rio got into. What chaos she caused. She cuts Rio’s hair for free and the other three all have benefits too. The five of them when together feed off each other's chaos and ideas and they're so much more fun.

Hannah Hook? She's bossy. Controlling. She shuts down ideas she deems too high risk and at times it feels like she's holding onto her by a lease. “No Rio, you can't break into Frollo's house without giving us a heads up! Eduardo could get hurt, you could get killed—” “No, Rio, we can’t just punch Cruella in the face for revenge against what she did to Remi. We have to be sneaky or it'll fall back on him.”

And so on.

Hannah is fun and she has benefits—so many benefits and a place to stay if Rio were ever to need it—but she's not as fun as Olga. She's too controlling. Too bossy. Too soft. She's made all of them into babysitters and her lap dogs, and Rio is sick of it and the fact no one else in the crew seems to care.

So. She chooses Olga.

And they plot.

The ship is attacked.

But things don't go to plan.

Five semi-down to Earth children against a large group of feral pirate children? Of course it goes horribly.

They don't make off with as much goodies as expected and they leave worse for wear than when they came. Hannah Hook is injured and she saw them, saw Rio. The whole crew knows now—they saw—and now Rio is suddenly down to four friends.

Now Rio is the most hated of the group.

And now, one of her oldest friends hates her enough to have not spoken to her directly in two years. All of the shared friends she shared with her now hate her, and run interference to keep them apart.

It's horrible.

But she can't fix it.
