The way the love breaks you down as it builds you into a new person, realizing that just because that they couldn’t be, the future can have it for you still.
That rarity where even though the character does awful things, you still enjoy watching them and in some ways love that character. A true testament to the wonderful actress that is Olivia Colman. Love her!
I need to talk about how utterly devastating Daisy’s expression is when Daniel volunteers to stay behind in the finale (before Deke takes one for the team instead) because it genuinely makes me SICK to think about.
Look at her:
It’s her sudden realisation that the one thing- the only thing- that she has wanted for herself for years is being torn away from her again.
Because of course it is, just like everything else in her goddamn life.
Of course, just when she starts to hope for something, the universe steals it away from her. Because when has it not?
She almost looks betrayed- betrayed by herself if anything. Because she let her guard down, she let herself feel again, and it was all for nothing.
And the pure disbelief in her eyes, as if she can’t fathom that it’s happening again at first- genuinely the one thing she fears the most- is heartbreaking. It’s genuinely so, so shattering.
But HEY, it’s fine. Deke stepped in and now they get to live happily ever after, the end. :,D It’s fine everything is FINE.
Since Cy's voice actress recently came out as trans I hope DE does a quest to update Cy's gender where everything that changes is her pronouns and the cephalon hologram getting like 2% more pink
if we ever get a NMT3 (🤞), not that I want to see the return of the abusive husband character cause he can choke and die, but like… Becky leaves Stanley to die in the Witchwood.
Emma says it in Perky’s Buds and it’s reinforced in Abstinence Camp with Little Jerry
“Things grow here. They grow fast, and big, and different.”
And uhhhhh, the dead don’t really die in Hatchetfield always and a person who’s not CONFIRMED to be dead? I cannot help but wonder if he’s been mutated by the Witchwood and still out there and I think that could be a compelling episode centered around Becky/Tom and Tim. The thought ‘He’s still alive’ has quite literally not left my brain since I first watched the digital ticket of Black Friday and Becky said how she ‘killed’ him.
i'm on episode 6 of season 2 of alex rider and i gotta say... really stanning mrs jones right about now. i never really vibed with her in the books. i mean i found her a lot more sympathetic than blunt, for sure, but i was mostly indifferent to her. this one though? immediately loved her. could she do more? sure. but she is rebelling in her own way and i appreciate that
”[blunt] asked me to let him know if [alex] got in touch, not where he was” damn straight
Holy FUCK does this franchise know how to use its medium. No matter what that medium currently is, it always takes FULL ADVANTAGE.
The way the story unfolds in the game is structured perfectly for being a game, and specifically for us as the player being locked almost exclusively to Phoenix’s perspective. Phoenix gets more tasks to do because we as the player want to do tasks, and we find out information as he does.
The changes made in the anime work to make the story fit its new medium. We’re no longer locked into Phoenix’s perspective, which allows some of the other characters moments of spotlight they didn’t have before, and allows us as the audience to know occasionally something he doesn’t, which builds tension.
And Turnabout Spotlight? Uses the medium of theater BETTER THAN A LOT OF PLAYS I’VE SEEN. The unique strength of theater is its ability to directly interact with the audience, and Spotlight begins with a play-within-a-play! The first scene isn’t even onstage, it’s in the house as the characters find their seats!!
I just. Damn. This franchise fully understands the strengths and weaknesses of every medium it uses, and it takes full advantage of them. I’m having a BLAST.
Love how you can watch my descent into madness and hyper fixation with the clock 😂
She knows it's all an act as The Dark One. He can make himself look however he wants. He's just trying to look deranged and unapproachable for this reason.
That little snarl, calling her 'dearie' that isnt a term of endearment. That means you're just like everyone else.
No it fucking doesnt you liar.
That's right babe.
He's projecting just remember that.
She's holding back tears and so am i.
For ever rumplestiltskin. For someone immortal you'd better think about this twice.
