Nonnie, of course I would write this for you! And just so you know, I always have requests open.  It might be a bit before I get to some, but I'll always do it. And this one? Yeah, I had to move it to the top of the list. I hope you like it. This is my first headcanon, so bear with me lol (And this isn't weird. This is you knowing what you need and I love that. I'm glad you trusted me to try and create something for you)

One of my favorite Phil Coulson quotes is, "I’m choosing to stand up, to become a part of something bigger. I really do believe that together, we can accomplish anything.” And I think that fits how he would handle this whole thing.

- Phil works with strange on a daily basis. Gods and mutants are part of his every day life. But you? His daughter telling him she's really his son? That wasn't strange.

- Sure, Phil did research. He wanted to understand. And he asked a lot of questions. Classics like: "When did you know?" "I think I always have."

- And, deep down, Phil realizes he might have known too. It might not have been in his face, but there were clues. The way you preferred to dress. How you always got quiet about your crushes. At first he thought maybe you were gay, but this? This made more sense.

- That very weekend, he takes you out to get all new clothes. And you smile so bright that he knows this has to be right.

- Phil makes it his mission to get your name right. He makes it his mission to get your pronouns right.

- Nothing with the Avengers or SHIELD was ever as important as this. Not to him.

- When you bring a girl home for the first time, Phil is nervous. Not because it's a girl, but because you're growing up so fast. When did that happen?

- You two go to Pride Parades together.

- It's his idea because, as much as you wanted to ask, you were afraid that might be the next thing he says no to.

- When he asks you, you cry and smile. Because Phil reminds you that a man is always willing to embrace his true emotions. That doesn't stop. Ever.

- Pride Parades become a tradition. Every year, he paints his nails. One hand has the rainbow, the other the colors for the trans flag. His shirt, worn with pride only a father could have, reads "Protect Trans Kids". You two take a selfie there every year.

- He asks you when your seventeen if you want to pursue the full transition.

- And when you say yes, he makes every phone call he can to find the right doctor. He is there the whole time, offering a shoulder. A hand. The last thing Phil wants is for you to to go through this alone.

- When you both start noticing the changes from the steroids, Phil takes you out for a celebratory dinner. He tells you how proud he is. How he will always be there and that you are so brave. So much stronger than he or anyone that he works with at SHIELD.

- You ask why. He works with heroes. He fights bad guys. How could you be as brave or strong as them?

- Phil tells you it's because you've done something most people find so impossibly hard. "You know who you are and you've pursued it. You've never given that up for anyone." It makes him cry, of course. Because you are more amazing than you could possibly know.
