Some who were only possible in their eras? Yes, this is our theme, though we have to add some caveats. Galleon, for instance, caught a wave of French electronic music during the noughts despite them not sounding like either Daft Punk or Cassius. Their tunes were tougher than those of their peers, but they had one major problem – one of their songs became so successful that most of what followed felt like a yes-we-have-some-other-stuff-please-check-that. Then again, the noughts are full of such outfits that had a couple of appearances in the charts, but they ended by slowly moving away after being ignored following their hits. I mean, Galleon only released one album! Who knows what their second one could've sounded like?

Just uploaded a performance of the composition "Tarmac a Gris Gris" performed live by JG Thirlwell's Steroid Maximus at Le Pompidou in Paris on April 12 2003. Some additional footage shot at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes on April 11 2003.

This arrangement was recorded and released on the Steroid Maximus album Ectopia. The album is available digitally at foetus.org or Bandcamp.
