There are times in the past I can remember that the most important part of any trip was getting there. I chose the fastest route, stopped as little as I could, and dismissed the things in between. I was really never present, dissapearing in the realm of where I was and where I wanted to go next. I wouldn't say it was only the camera that taught me to be patient and to exist in the moment, but it sure did help. I'm sure part of it was just a natural maturing of my wandering mind, but waiting for hours to see if nature will give you the light show you came for...gives you a lot of time to think and examine. One thing I know, I have never been sorry for stopping at too many places or taking an extra few moments to watch a sunset.
