DEC THEME: YOUR BEST PHOTO OF 2023
Welcome to this month's theme: Your Best Photo of 2023!
Take a look back through all of the awesome LEGO photos you created this year and pick the 2 photos you are especially proud of to share with the community.
Maybe you executed a novel concept well, nailed a new technique, or even had a happy accident.
We want to see and READ about why you picked those 2 photos to share.
Here's one of my best shots: the meditating monk.
I wanted this photo to be all about practical lights and packed in as many as I could in the scene.
I crammed several teeny tiny LEDs into the white round plates and bricks of the candles, and then extended the idea of more candles in the background with some bokeh.
My trusty retro fiber optic lamp!
I was worried about reflections all around the base of the minifig's head from all those practical lights, but careful placement of the candles got me most of the way there.
Very happy with how it turned out!
So, that's my best shot of 2023! How do you share yours?
1. Head to Discord and enter the "Dec Theme: Your Best Photo 2023" topic in the monthly theme channel
2. Send a message with your photo attached, explaining WHY it's your best shot. Photos without explanations will be deleted.
3. That's it!
You can submit your photos one at a time, or both together but they need accompanying explanations about why you chose them.
If you change your mind about your shots, just delete your post and submit again. It's hard to choose, I know! I tried!
We'll only consider 2 though at the end of the challenge period.
Have fun looking back and show us what you got!

Thank you all for such a wonderful event and for making this year's Pridewrite even better than the first! We've enjoyed seeing everything y'all have come up with and encourage y'all to keep creating with these prompts if you find the inspiration; just because us mods are unlikely to be reblogging until the next event kicks off, doesn't mean the magic has to stop!
That being said, we hope to see you all again next year; check in around December or January for updates, but until then...
Happy Pride! 🌈✨

A Life of Work
Stark winter sunlight pulls details not seen at other times.
A Life of Work
Do we consider the effects of our lives on those inanimate things that work to support us?
The layers, layers of time and effort worn away.
Stark winter sunlight pulls details not seen at other times.
