Picklock
submitted by: @tulipsandsake
AO3 link and details: Picklock (67794 words) by @anandabrat
Chapters: 10/10
Fandom: Warehouse 13
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Myka Bering/Helena "H. G." Wells
Characters: Myka Bering, Helena "H. G." Wells, Pete Lattimer, Original Characters, Nate (Warehouse 13)
Additional Tags: Post-Canon, Fix-It, don't be afraid this isn't Pyka
Summary:
It's 2021. Warehouse 13 changed locations in 2015, leaving its agents to move on with their lives to the best of their abilities.
I've left out the Paracelsus plot line but kept the rest. It was a truly dreadful ending - but looking at it as the middle of the story, I found I could be a lot more sympathetic about the choices our heroines made.
Though there are mentions of other relationships, some more significant than others, this is always and forever, like everything I write, a Bering and Wells fic.
Thanks to Ten for so much help with writing and talking things through. And for so many other moments.
Thanks to Ash for giving it a look and pushing me to put it out in the world, already!
And thanks my love, starshipblueberry, who said this wasn't a silly idea and that I should write and then told me that same thing every day.
Please tell us why you like this fic so much!
First of all I'm in love with post-canon fics and this one is just brilliant. Secondly, the style and characterization is perfect and I love how delicate and emotional this story is.

i wonder where the idea of chilchuck being a deadbeat came from when theres like. no textual evidence for it ?
he knows what all of them are up to; he still writes to flertom and she sent him his neckwarmer, so that to me implies that they at least have a somewhat positive relationship?
its more ambiguous with meijack and puckpatti, but since meijack is also a picklock, i wouldn't be surprised if he taught her himself, considering how trades are often passed down through families, and because he talks about sending people to her if he dies.
also the way he talks about puckpatti is very like... it's obvious he wants her to take things more seriously, but he's accepting, and his tone here reads more fond to me than anything else.
like, he keeps his daughters' old toys under his desk? that doesn't scream 'deadbeat' at all, it screams 'empty nester' who doesn't know how to reach out or is scared to do so
EDIT: i know a lot of the 'deadbeat dad' stuff is jokes, but some people are Not joking and genuinely think chilchuck is a bad dad. this post is not saying that you cant joke about it; it is just outlining what canon shows regarding his (clearly positive) relationship with his kids.

Lined??) I adore him greatly and I hope you don't mind me gushing some as everything of his doing is just a Bop also I ADORE his style/choice of music and I'm Puss in Boots pathetic eyeing you for any fun/bonus details if you have them to share (anyways, love the art/character and its a gold star like always thank you for your time sorry if I was (hand motions sporadically))
sheesh, its been a while since i drew percy.
those drawings before were years old.

he sometimes hurts his arms cause they all bump into each other.
he trips a lot and cant dance at all.
