I’m going to try and turn Arctic Monkeys fans onto a newer band called Picture Parlour, because I find they remind me of some of the more swaggering sides of Arctic Monkeys, and their singer has something in her voice that reminds me of Alex singing. Check this out!

Seriously they’re some of the best new music around and it’s a TRAGEDY they only have six songs out on Spotify

Their stuff is rich, sharp, soulful, with a sweeping cinematic grandeur and DAMN BANGER electric guitars

Same vibe as the English seaside in winter; pebble beaches, loud ocean, freezing cold and terrifying but also desperately nostalgic

Also amazing fashion, 70s glam rock meets the Big Bad Wolf

Any fans of Florence + the Machine, Nick Cave, the Last Dinner Party, Patti Smith, Stevie Nicks, PJ Harvey, the Arctic Monkeys, the Doors, Siouxsie & the Banshees, the Pixies, LP, Bowie — they’re definitely for you

Genuinely I cannot overstate how much they have become my new musical obsession

THE LAST DINNER PARTY | PICTURE PARLOUR @ MCR ACADEMY

One of the most talked about bands of the year, arrived in Manchester, The Last Dinner Party, alongside the superb Picture Parlour (who I'd shot in Warrington earlier this year and was blown away by them). The crowd were dressed to kill and buzzing for this double delight, and neither band disappointed. A couple of photographers, not 9 like last time and if I am being picky I would have liked a bit more white light.

I can't wait to see them again...hurry back to the North.
