I put out a new chill, dreamy instrumental, inspired by ancient mythology, Sappho of Lesbos, and the swirling emotions of limerance and fear when new love calls.
This is from a play called Nuit for which I am composing a soundtrack, a really cool combon of hilarious skits and breathtaking dance choreo. This is written for a dance between two Lesbian characters, a pivotal and tender moment where they realize their unspoken longing. Hope some of you can see it in Montreal this summer, seeing it with my partial soundtrack in the fall was one of my proudest musical moments 🎵🎶🎶
I know this isn't really a single, but I was excited to share and maybe it can be the soundtrack to your little moments. For fans of Air, Daft Punk, Wendy Carlos, Bowie, UNKLE, Foxes in Fiction, Brian Eno, Kate Bush, Locate S1, and more 💖💖💖
@aeolianblues's recent New Music Friday Polls made me appreciate just how much amazing music she's introduced me to over the years, so have a niche poll of songs I love that I wouldn't have discovered without her!
I've linked each song on Spotify so if any are unfamiliar to you feel free to check them out - you may well discover a new favourite like I did 🥰
(and also check out @aeolianblues because she's awesome and she knows more about upcoming artists than I ever will 💖)
we've re-stocked some bangers in the shop, including the last of the first pressing copies we have for both Ratboys' The Window and Parannoul’s After the Magic 2xLPs

Montreal, the closing track on Manic Pixie Dream World coming March 10th 💖🌍💖
This came out of living in a shitty house venue in Montreal and going a bit nuts from the lack of sleep and interpersonal drama/outright ableism (I was a black sheep for "not making eye contact" 🙄). I was also listening to a ton of Of Montreal to cope.
I included a "fake of Montreal" part for the bridge to represent that moment of escape and also to self-parody how much of an imitator I feel I can be at times. The rest of the music is really inspired by Thanya Iyer and her incredibly emotive and unique jazz, my favourite artist in Montreal at the time (and still).
This comes out with the album but here's something else if you want to listen to more.
I was tagged by the lovely @aeolianblues to list 5 songs I’ve been listening to lately, thank you! 🥰
I have to confess, I’ve been on such a Eurovision 2023 fix lately that my normal music taste has taken a backseat 😅 Here are some of my fave entries from this year (so far):
Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha (what can I say? It’s crazy. It’s party. And I am ridiculously excited to see it live in May 😍)
Blanca Paloma - Eaea (particularly the live version. I am not immune to beautiful women with immaculate vocals...)
Voyager - Promise (synth metal in Eurovision? A keytar solo? Sign me up!)
Lord Of The Lost - Blood And Glitter (Germany are taking fun risks again! Hallelujah 😂🥰)
Teya and Salena - Who the Hell is Edgar? (I haven’t been able to get the ‘Poe Poe Poe Edgar Allan Edgar Allan Poe’ hook out of my head and I’m not even mad about it)
Tagging: @rock-n-roll-fantasy, @alexturne, @thespiritofvexation, @see-sawed, @chrysochromulina, @elorianna and anyone else who wants to do this! 🥰
New episode: A throwback to the Hidden Cameras' "gay church folk music", plus new and classic sounds ranging from ambient to poetry-infused folk, Slumberland Records jangle-pop, and the moody electronics of Suuns and Sleepkit. Enjoy another episode of The AM here on CJSW.
