Forty Days of Frankenstein, Final Bits and Pieces: as we’re coming right up on the tail end of this year’s Frankenstein sequence, the prize for weirdest Frankenstein I found this October might just go to tonight’s image. You never do know where the Frankensteins will take you. To understand what we have here, you have to know that DC Comics has a set of “funny animal” superhero characters called *Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo-Crew*. Each of the characters is a sort of parody superhero, and in the titular comic the characters have both team adventures and solo stories. In Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo-Crew #17 (cover date, July, 1983), the porcine character Pig-Iron (whose super-strong, super-durable body is made of living steel) has a solo adventure titled “The House of Frankenswine” in which he visits the country of West Erminy (the comic specializes in animal puns) and encounters the Monster Frankenswine. This three-panel sequence (art by Rick Hoberg and Carol Lay) of the Monster being brought to life gives a good flavor of the story, penned by the venerable E. Nelson Bridwell. Note the Monster's Karloff/Pierce-influenced design, although in the "fuzzy vest" variant. Temple electrodes, too.
did anyone else like. watch the gnome run finale and go "hey that was great" and then forget about it for a few months and then suddenly you remembered it and realized that this was one of the most impressive creative projects you've ever witnessed or was it just me
Alright designed a buncha Cassidys :> tbh I did make some of them look older than intended but mostly just wanted to focus on the outfits and hairstyles :>
Had a dream where I commisioned a horror digital artist to draw The Guy™ that stars my frequent nightmares and they sent me an uncannily accurate hyper realistic digital art of The Guy™ at its terrifying glory at the POV of me on my bed and its mangled hands on 'my throat' and my hands grasped at its wrists. I sent the dude a 15 minute recording of me screaming and babbling nonsense in terror because i was genuinely suprised and scared that they got The Guy™ so scarily accurate then i sent them like $250 i think. When i turned off my phone, i saw The Guy™ in the reflection of the screen behind me. He lunged at me and i woke up with sore throat and a fever like DAMN
The Virginia iron furnace near Albright, West Virginia is one of a handful of water-powered blast furnaces still standing; they were constructed to smelt pig iron, a key ingredient in steel, in the early days of America's industrial area. Iron ore and limestone from the local mountains were poured onto burning charcoal from the top of the furnace, and molten iron ran out the bottom. The temperature of the charcoal was maintained by a bellows powered by a waterwheel, which was turned by water diverted from adjacent Muddy Creek. Built in 1854, the furnace ran until the end of the 19th Century, and was eventually acquired and preserved by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The structure has since been added to the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to its historical significance and beautiful setting next to Muddy Creek, the furnace also apparently serves as a clandestine meeting place for those seeking a more personal form of recreation (seriously, people will do it anywhere).
it is heartwarming to see our tumblr community come together and all agree the only solution to pjackk being featured by a youtuber is to kill him in a violent mob
