Hi hi ! I wanted to know if a type of colour was real or if I was just making this up

I think I might have gotten this from a cat game, but I was pretty sure there were three types of Points; colour, mink and sepia. Recently I wanted to design a sepia cat for a drawing, but I couldn't find a single reference that was just an older seal point or some filtered photo... (Ended up making up a colour palette on my own). So is sepia point an actual thing or just some wrong wording I got from who knows where ?

Sepia is a real thing, it’s also called Burmese Color Restriction (BCR) quite often.

If you were searching for “sepia point” that could have been part of the problem, typically point is paired with “siamese” color restriction and people will use mink and sepia as standalone descriptors.

And some breeds omit it altogether because it’s thought to be assumed, like in the Burmese breed in which sepia is a fixed trait. I use labels like “Blue Sepia” for the sake of consistency but in actuality a blue Burmese would just be referred to as… well, blue? Usually.

But the confusion doesn’t end there!

Black sepia Burmese? Yes, but that’s not what this color is called. This is… brown. Just brown. Sometimes sable.

Blue sepia Tonkinese? Correct again, but not how it’s usually referred to. Blue solid. Black can also be natural, chocolate can be champagne and lilac can be platinum.

If you’re looking for a sepia color reference for a drawing or design search for Burmese i’d probably going to yield the best result, because all Burmese are sepia and other breeds that get pulled up as Burmese Color Restriction will also be sepia.

I think it's funny cause I used to draw 3l!scar with the same kind of shirt as your red life skin just because I never drew someone bare chest before and was too lazy to try make it look good haha

it's actually a nice design choice! hear me out but I think I prefer drawing him a little covered over bare chested, I think during 3rd life I was drawing Scar with his jacket over his shoulders, I also like how other people draw him with a poncho or a wrap scarf

Long overdue pinned post to finally organize my shit hehe

Hi! Name's Reshie. I often go by Pitruli like it's a surname, and i get new nicknames every time i change fandom (Ruli and Triffouilly are fine). I'm 23, French and go by They/he for now. I study English, always wish I could draw more, and I'd like to work as a translator.

Main activity here is posting my art, mostly fanarts. I don't make sideblogs so when i change interest in fandom it can be a bit sudden. I don't reblog much, most often it's art of friends, sometime it's random silly things. I tried to hold from not doing to many rambling post (and they're not tagged)

This is where i've been posting the most. However i've been starting to do a bit more of Tiktok, but usually it's just different way to just display drawings i've posted here anyways.

Commisions have not been open in a long while, I will have to revise my entire system before I open them again.

I draw on Clip Studio Paint and my go to brushes are the default "mechanical pencil" for sketch/lines, and i colours with a few free packs from Devin Elle Kurtz and Ahmed Aldoori on Gumroad (labeled as for photoshop, work just fine)

I use whatever I have on hand when I draw traditionally, but it's always rather cheap suplies, most often ball pens, liners, alchool markers or some watercolours

Update on the mcyt fanart exhibition pitch I'm working on!

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

this one is tough. because i think everything is absolutely wonderful, when we talk about art. but i am not skilled in many things. if we're talking about a media that i love the concept of, but wouldn't know what to make of it / what to create with it, if i had the skill? charcoal. dark, smudgy, wonderful. i'd have no idea what to make with it but i love the idea of it.

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

this question is sooo troublesome. i know nothing about art, and what classifies as style "nothing like my own". but i'm going to dump some art here and hope for the best. (credit always after the drawing; some of these are from pinterest but i did by best trying to trace down the source, and if i'm wrong, please let me know so i can fix it!!)

I’ve never read homestuck but I have heard of classpects which I find fascinating

Me and three of my friends mod ell @memoryoflife , mod reshie @pitruli , mod kuro @lakuronekobaka have been (trying to) working on this thing called Act 7.

We've put the Hermits into the game Sburb. We've uploaded some stuff on @cemetrio. AND! The hermits' classpects are also included! (Well, technically, they're only shown explicitly on a very simplified cube showing their Moon color, the name of their class, and the symbol of their aspect.)

We have some posts going into more detail about some of the hermits' classpects and why we think it suits them (specifically their Season 7 versions), written by our local classpect expert, mod ell!

I'd be happy to relay more on other hermits' classpects we talked about, but really all I have is "I got a feeling". Ell is the one with understandable reasoning behind it. But I'd be happy to go look in our discord archive to see who fits what if you're curious about a certain hermit besides the four I've linked to!
