Edit: NVM it’s all good, my concerns weren’t warranted, thanks to those who replied and gave me the info I needed 💕💕💕
Attention please lovely fandom :)
I’m calling on my old connections who are still around. Or anyone who comes across this (if you see this hi I used to be much much more active in the fandom) Can anybody explain the basic plot of Guinevere that we know so far in the two chapters released?
Specifically, where is MC supposed to be from and what is their backstory that leads them to betrothal that we see in these chapters? I need to know if MC is from a made up country like PB often writes or if it’s a fantasy version of a real country?
I’ll explain more depending on what I find out if I’m right about something but I might have some concerns about this book… I’m probably wrong about what I’m thinking but I just need to investigate so I can make sure it’s nothing… if you see this thank you so much <3
This was so sweet 🥺 I wish I got more screenshots as I played through Guinevere
And this made me so sad, even if it was just an act with Lancelot for the event, there was some truth to it (& the words "in another world" may have stirred something in my solavellan heartbreak)
Please only vote IF YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE. If you are not planning to participate, please don't vote. I really want the votes to represent prospective players. TY! ❤️
*TDG is still releasing, please be mindful of this. The next book club will start in the next 2 weeks (before the wide release ends). Here are some thoughts on how that book club could run, but please keep that in mind before voting for that.
Ekkk I made this for the Guinevere book club! I’ve been working on it periodically when I have time so it would be ready for chapter 15 when the final battle occurs 😊
Geneviève grew up in the small Kingdom of Carmelide. Her mother died when she was 10 from an unknown illness. She misses her dearly, but never felt alone growing up - raised by her doting father and a slew of court attendants.
She was never interested in the duties or expectations of noble women of her station.
Her father King Leodegrance, a great military leader and fierce fighter in his youth, embraced his daughter's rebellious nature.
He taught her at a young age to ride, shoot a bow and wield the sword. They travelled throughout their kingdom, meeting Carmelide's people and protecting the realm, Leodegrance preparing his daughter to be a fair ruler.
She feels the weight of the responsibilities of her role and station, which she is willing to fulfill for the good of her people. Though deep down, Geneviève dreams of freedom and adventure.
She is apprehensive of her bethrotal to Arthur Pendragon of Camelot, having never met him. She hopes the rumours of his noble heart and devotion to his people are true, and that this union may eventually become one of love rather than obligation.
Playing through Guinevere, not much to say since I'm enjoying it well enough, the only reason I'm even making a post is this:
And listen, I understand the source material, I understand that this is the dynamic basically inherent to putting any spin on that source material, and being entirely honest, this is the only book we've gotten in years that actually justifies this sort of situation. I think it's working really well! I'm not complaining! I swear!!!
... I still think my initial reaction of "not this shit again" is fucking hilarious tho.
