You can barely open your eyes. When you do, you find yourself surrounded by aranara's and ofcourse, Nahida. "Hello creator" she says in her sweet child voice. "Please call me Y/n, i cant bare hearing that title". She looks a bit suprised but nods her head anyways. "But you said something about rivalry between the people?" You ask. She nods. "Yes. If i may ask you to follow me towards 2 people?"

Your mood changed within a second. She was already getting you to put an end on it. To make them fear you? No that couldnt be possible. Right? She must've read your mind bc she answered in a more calm tone "Y/n im talking about Tighnari and cyno. If there would be people absolutely not joining in this little thing it would be them, you dont need to fear them"

So you ended up following her towards them. I mean she was right, if there were people who wouldnt harm you it would be them. Now that you think about it there are more people who wouldnt but right now they are the most useful.

"So you actually got them here"? Cyno asked. "Im glad you trust us" Tighnari said. You were taken by suprise."Collei also seemed to enter the chaos" cyno said. This suprised Tighnari. Wait. Did that mean most of the characters you already had were doing the most damage?! "Most people who had the luck to get into the ritual called "coming home" seem to be the damage dealers" Nahida said. Oh god that sounded familiar. "Oh shit" you mumbled. "Luckily there are not many in sumeru who got into that ritual, so.. Y/n as far as i know you will be safe here" She hesitated when saying your name. You could understand that tho.

"If im not mistaken your here to stop this chaos and leave right?" Tighnari asked. At this moment you didn't know. Life in sumeru seemed nice. Or atleast how you could live in peace. At home you also didn't have that so. "I dont know, but i will think about it all" there was a small smile on Nahida's face. "If im right Mondstadt and Liyue seem to be the worst" She said. "Wait most people of the Knights of favonius and Qixing got into this ritual, so" you said. This could get alot harder then expected.

So you guys spend the next couple of days planning. Thats when it hit you though. THE FRIENDSHIP BONDS! The higher it was the more rebelious they were. Bleh kinda like yandere's. "Well it would be best to stay away from the Qixing for now" you said. There was a confused look on their faces. "Oh god how do i explain this.. ehm the people who got into this ritual and fighted alongside the traveler alot.. might be more of a challenge then people who didn't fight much alongside them, is that understandable??" You said in a nervous tone. They nodded. "So the Qixing fights alongside the traveler alot"? Cyno asked. You nod. "Oh and they might be stronger then normal.. hehe" thinking back to your lvl 90 Keqing and lvl 80 Ganyu.

"but then what would be the safest option? The Knights of favonius?" You shake your head at Tighnari's question. U ofcourse had most of the Knights so. If you thought about it Inazuma would seem safer. No Scratch that the shogun is there wich IS already a challenge herself so that would NOT work. "Maybe starting small in sumeru with the people who are like that would be the safest option, and then think about were we head next?" They all nodded their head in agreement.

"I have to go for a little while to take care of someone" Nahida said. And your love for the little man doin the fandango got the best of you. "THE WANDERER?!" you squeked out. Nahida gave a small nod. Oh wait im divine i dont think thats appropriate.. "i didn't mean it like that ehh.. since the Wanderer hates Gods (idk for sure) i dont think he would participate in this bs" You explained. In reality you'd be over the moon to meet the smal man. Nahida seemed to get your point.

So you guys went to scaramouche. Or atleast, you and Nahida. To your suprise, he was awake. And man you had to hold yourself back not to become the gremlin you are and hug him. "The divine creator?" He said in a confused tone. You nodded, a smile appeared on your face. "But please call me Y/n". He looked suprised. Why did it seem like such a crime for people to just call you by your name?? "What are they doing here" he asked. You knew that he wouldnt be very fond of you, and you cant really blame him for it.

"They are here to fix some things and-" oh she didn't know what to say next, oh well better say it yourself then. "And to see you ofcourse' you said with a smile. Why would the crea- Y/n want to see me. He thought. "And i know your not very fond of Gods and to be honest i can understand that. But at the moment it would be nice to have ur help" you explained. Wich only made scara more confused. Why would the creator, god of everything need his help?!

"Listen i can understand this is confusing, but- wait is this the first time your awake again after your fall??!" He nodded. Ohhh so thats why he didn't understand. Nahida explained the situation and all that has happened so far. This is it. We are finally in the ruins of k'ahanriah, the truely divineless nation. We were running. Running up so many stairs. Running down so many corridors. Just to get to that damned bloodbath ballroom. One last staircase. The abyss heralds we thought we had lost came barging into the stairwell from any entrance they could. We were stuck fine. Venti, the traveller dainsleif and I starting fighting, trying to clear out space for at least Lumine and Paimon to get through. After what seemed like twenty minutes of us protecting one another from attack apron attack we were there. In the ballroom. It was empty except for a singular gold and red throne with none other then the abyss prince himself, Aether lounged on the magnificent throne.

Lumine ran forward as the tell-tale red and black diamond opened in front of the door, trapping us in there with the prince. "Well.. I didn't think you would make it here but.. I guess I should have never doubted Lumine." The goddess said as she stepped out of the portal, dragging fleets of vision weilders (<-mispelt I think, sorry) out along with her. "Let them go. They have nothing to do with this." Lumine said to the goddess. "Fine. But first.." she held her hand out causing each and every vision holder to float twenty feet above the floor, seemingly by their necks even though nothing was there. With a flick of her wrist, we watched each ones neck contort with inhuman speed 180°. It happened sickeningly slowly. First bennett, then diluc, then amber, then Xinyan, then Xiangling, thoma, yoimia, yanfei and then poor, sweet innocent Klee. I felt as if I was going to be sick right then and there. Seeing their lifeless bodies just floating there.

Next it was the poor Anemo users. Xiao, heizou, kazuha, sayu, Sucrose, jean. The goddess was grinning as if this was some sick joke. "You ever thought you could save them outlander? That is truely laughable." The electro users were on the chopping block next. Razor. Ei. Keqing, Beidou, Lisa, Kuki, yae, fishl and sara. "I must say imposter, you grew fond of these low lives? They were just stepping stones in your path." It spoke. I heard a bow draw. All eyes were on me. Im crying.

Zhongli, albedo, itto, gorou, Noelle, Ninguang. All dead.

The fear in Chongyun's eyes as he watched his best friend's lifeless body fell to the floor nearly made me choke. Barbara, kokomi, ayato, childe, mona, yelan.

"Dont worry. You will be with your friend... now" she flicked her wrist and everyone left dropped to the floor. It was like a car crash. You wanted to look away but you couldn't. Most had split their head on the white, pristine marble that was the ballroom floor. Watching their blood and brains leave them through their skulls and watch the light drain from all of their eyes was torture. Some got the air sucked out of their lungs, their lungs then being crushed and punctured by their very own ribs beneath the goddesses feet.

The bow string snapped into place.

I didn't feel it at first. The three arrows sticking out of my back. For a moment, I felt nothing. Then all the pain hit me at once while I realized I had fallen forward. I hit my head. I saw liquid. But not blood. Gold? No. Im seeing things. Im dizzy.. my eyes are so heavy. The room is spinning. Is someone yelling? Are they yelling under water? I will miss my friends. entire thing under the cut for no reason

after taking a guard post at the stone gate to be closer to her grandfather and his monstadtan husband, millelith soldier keqing thought the worst part of her position would be the long boring hours standing guard in the night. she quickly discovers the best kept secret of dihua marsh is no millelith ever truly stands guard alone. the ghost solider is never seen in the day but they are less careful at night, and one night keqing sees she outranks the motherfucker.

Keqing orders the guard to stand at attention. “What’s your name, soldier?” “Ganyu, sir.”

Keqing read through the records. “A soldier. A soldier. A soldier. All of these problems were resolved by ‘a soldier’.” Keqing frowned. She did not like that so many problems had been coyly resolved by a ghost at best and an adepti at worst. She turned to face wangshu inn and her frown deepened. how great was the territory of liyue held up by the dwindling whims of old gods and dying servants?

keqing orders her subordinate to strip off her outer clothes and hand them to her. Ganyu does so. Neatly folded. Gloves, too. She has a clean, crisp scent that has been transferred to her clothes. She’s solid. Not a ghost, then.

“And let you kill me?” “I’ll take your collar off.” Keqing promises. The god says nothing. Keqing repeats herself, “I’ll take your collar off.” And she clarifies, “I will make it so you won’t die trapped.” The god stills. The ever-moving mass that seemed essential like blood and breathing, stops. Keqing made a mental note of that and walked up close. She took the collar off. “Any last requests?” Her arms were slow to leave the space around the god’s neck. “You won’t worship me?” The god’s neck pulsed as if it was breathing and its voice was hoarse like it was hurting. “Love, then. An easy request for a human. I know it’s not too much.” Ganyu asked Keqing if she was okay. Keqing could tell that her arrow was still aimed. “I’m fine.” She said to Ganyu, not stupid enough to look away from the god when she did. Her arms hovered over the god’s shoulders. “Can I touch you?” She asked. “Please.” For a god, it was desperate. Keqing coaxed the mass of worshipped-smoke into her arms and held. She did her best to love it. Love a god. Her and Ganyu allowed a long moment to pass, and then Keqing stepped away. She gave the signal, and Ganyu shot it dead. Having killed the god, they took to their second task: cataloging the relics left behind.

the dying god’s request is to be fed. keqing doesnt mind. its intimate, but intimate in the way offering water to a traveler is intimate. keqing feeds it poison and finds herself worry that it won’t be enough and the god will suffer just that much more. she will think later how funny that is, to worry that you could have killed them faster. murdered them with better drink.

Keqing takes off her armor. she wants to ask just how many dead gods are there, but ganyu has questions of her own and they seem more relevant. “Feed me?” she asks. Demands to know more like, keqing watches her tense shoulders as ganyu does something just shy of charging into her room. seating herself at keqings small table. she uses it for those times she wants to eat while working and now ganyu uses it to interrogate her. “It was a last request. Are you jealous?” Stupid. Ganyu crosses her arms. she’s still fully outfited and something in keqing decides to make up for her mistake by searching for the ties holding ganyu’s armor on and working out the knots. It doesnt come off right, but, after a long moment, ganyu stands and Keqing almost eagerly takes her friend out of her armor. she places it on the table and kneels to loosen her boots. “Keqing!” keqing focuses on ganyu’s boots, “you can ask me for things. we share a loyalty.” technically. “i dont understand how you can do so much for other gods and feel nothing for your own.”

“how can you so freely serve these gods?” “are they any different from rex lapis?” “what?” ganyu sputtered, “of course they are!” “how?!” keqing demands. “does morax not make demands? does morax not want us to live by it’s whims?” “rex lapis wants whats best for the humans of liyue harbor!” “i don’t care that morax has supported us for thousands of years, that support can be revoked at any time!” keqing insists. “there is a contract! like the contracts that bind us!” “a contract is only as strong as it’s enforcer and if you dont think morax could break our contract, i severely overestimated your intelligence!” ganyu forced her anger down, and every other emotion she felt for keqing with it. “excuse me,” she gently moved outside, “i think i’d better see you when we have our next shift.” keqing let her go, “rest well.” ganyu nodded, already out the door.

people like cyno, alhaitham, rosaria, candace….. maybe collei but definitely tighnari (don’t ask why there’s so many sumeru characters) are all people i can see praising and praying for the actions of their god. people who pray for the results and not the process, and people i think would be freest of the corruption and most likely to help the reader.

on the flip side, barbara, jean, nahida, and notably keqing would be lore susceptible. they pray for more direct things? almost? idk how to describe it but like- they’re more “please grant us wisdom” or “allow us the strength” or anything that directly relies on the alternate!god, and hence opening their heart to the alternates.

like i… i can’t put it into words quite well, but like- ningguang is one who prays for profits, ganyu is the one who prays for divine guidance, you know? and hence ganyu would fall quicker.

it’s obviously a spectrum, but those closer to the first groups side are more likely to break through and help the reader.

i think…. not solely for plot reasons, but definitely influenced enough by them that i’m mentioning it… kaeya falls solidly in the second group, whilst diluc is firmly in the first.

diluc is the one that prays for a good harvest, for high sales, for the patience to deal with the damned hard in his tavern. kaeya prays for strategic wisdom, for their guidance, for answers when he’s lost and confused and the acting grand master isn’t behaving like she should.

..hopefully that made at least some sense. i’m kinda just wingin it here.

re: the traveller…. i honestly think they’d be treated the same as the archons. if the archons are corrupted, they will be too if the archons are replaced, they will be too. due to the traveller’s relationship with both the archons and the creator, i think the alternate!creator’s hand is a bit forced there. same can be extended to paimon BUT you could have paimon escape since she can pop into a different dimension. and/or they can both live in the teapot as like. vigilantes. idk.

i think that if this were to be written (100% by somebody more knowledgeable about the catalogue than i am) then a pov from one of the archons would be incredibly necessary. either to showcase the sheer power the alternates hold, that they have replaced literal gods, or to shed light on why the archons act as they do, and maybe influence the reader(meta reader, not character reader) and their opinion on them. seeing a blank slate suddenly become full of life at the sight of their savior…. or the archons trapped in some cell, chained down and miserable, lamenting over their mistakes. how foolish they were to trust the one with eyes colder than iron and a grip nearly as strong. how foolish to pray when their soul cried to stop. how foolish, how foolish, how foolish.

and as they sit, maybe one of them begins to pray, unwillingly feeding into the beast that trapped them there.

“o holy creator, maker of light and extinguisher of darkness, the foundation of the earth… please, deliver us from this evil.”
