Schifahren in Tirol

Nun ja, zu meiner Schulzeit übte ich das noch häufig aus, sogar in einem Skiclub, mit dem ich nach Südtirol zur Plose fuhr, und zwar in einem Bus ohne WC, und mich drückte die Blase gewaltig .... naja, sowas bleibt einem schon in Erinnerung... abgesehen von den Schulskikursen, die ich gesondert beschrieben habe.

Meist ging ich mit meinem Vater Skifahren, in die nähere Umgebung oder Langlaufen am Seefelder Plateau. Witzig war meine damalige Freundin, die ich mitschleifte, und die sich in seltsamem Passgang auf den schmalen Brettern fortbewegte. Auch das noch sehr erinnerlich...weil so untalentiert konnte kaum jemand sein. Was ICH absolut nicht konnte: Schlepplift-Fahren. Regelmäßig landeten mein Vater und ich neben der Spur im Schnee, weil ich mich arg mit meinen Skiern gegen seine lehnte, was fatale Folgen hat. Man verliert das Gleichgewicht, und schon verabschiedet man sich vom Bügel. Andererseits war es noch weniger gemütlich, bibbernd auf dem Sessellift zu sitzen und eingeschneit zu werden, bis man oben ankam, trotz wohlgemeinter Decke über den Knien. Und der scharfe Wind, der einem entgegenblies, sobald man ausstieg, war auch nicht von schlechten Eltern. Die Ski hatten damals Fangriemen, auf dass sie sich im Falle eines Sturzes nicht selbständig machen konnten, aber so manch einem den Knöchel verdrehte. Was, um Himmels willen, besingt Wolfgang Ambros so inbrünstig, dass es fast zu einer österreichischen Hymne wurde? Ich stelle mir Freiheit anders vor, als Buckelpisten mit elegantem oder weniger elegantem, damals modernem Jet-Schwung zu bewältigen, von taillierten Skiern keine Rede, und lang waren die Dinger auch noch. In den Skischuhen fror man sich die Zehen ab, bevor man noch zum Lift kam und sich dort in eine lange Schlange einreihte, die einem rücksichtslos auf die Brettln stieg, mit einer baumelnden Tageskarte um den Hals. Zu Mittag kehrte man zünftig ein, zu Würstln mit Sauerkraut und Tee, was wiederum die Blase beschäftigte. Die Prozedur, ein Klo zu finden, war so beschwerlich, dass man sogar manchmal darauf verzichtete. Es stank wie in allen öffentlichen WCs, hinsetzen ging sowieso nicht. Das war grauslich. Am Ende des Tages war ich geschafft und wartete nur mehr auf ein heißes Bad. Aber als echter Tiroler ging man eben skifahren, sonst wurde man schräg angeschaut. Ich habe es nach der Schulzeit aufgegeben, die schönen orange-roten Ski landeten im Keller und später im Sperrmüll. Ich wich aufs Rodeln und Eislaufen aus, aber auch das war fad. Ich war samt Kufen so groß, dass manch einer blöd witzelte, wenn ich mit meiner ebenso großen Nachbarstochter an ihnen vorbeischlurfte. Leider waren ihr damaliger Freund und ihr Bruder ebenso mit ziemlicher Länge geschlagen, dass wir vier ein anscheinend fabelhaft lächerliches Quartett abgaben, ("wo haben sie denn DIE ausgelassen?" war noch die harmloseste Bemerkung). Rodeln war anstrengend (das Hinaufwandern auf teils eisigen Pisten) und damals ohne Helm auch nicht ungefährlich. Man trug überhaupt keine Helme, auch nicht beim Skifahren oder Reiten oder Radfahren. Das tat ich übrigens eine Weile auch, das ist aber ein anderes Kapitel und fällt in die Rubrik Sommersport. Als echter Tiroler ging man nämlich in die Berge wandern oder klettern. Aber ich bezeichnete mich nie als echten Tiroler. Aber, wie gesagt, das ist ein anderes Kapitel.

Rif. Plose - Rif. Genova

Saavuimme Rif. Ploseen illalla onnistuneen matkapäivän jälkeen. Lähdimme klo 8.00 lennolla Muncheniin ja junalla sieltä Bressanoneen. Sitten oluen jälkeen bussilla hissiasemalle ja hissillä Ploselle, jonka jälkeen vielä reilun tunnin reippailu ylämäkeen Rifugiolle. Rifugiolla oli hiljaista, muutama jenkkityttö ja pari muuta asiakasta. Saimme ihanan kahden hengen huoneen.

Aamulla saimme upean buffet-aamiaisen, jotka ovat lisääntyneet Dolomiiteille. Muistan vielä aikaa, kun aamiainen oli kuppi kahvia ja valkoinen sämpylä ja marmeladi. Noihin aikoihin tulikin kannettua mukana paljon eväitä, koska käytännössä emme saaneet mitään aamiaista, emmekö osanneet pyytää eväitä mukaan.

Tällä kertaa otin mukaan pussin pähkinä-karpalo-aprikoosia ja viisi energiapatukkaa. Ne riittivät koko matkaan. Kahdesti pyysimme mukaamme aamulla evässämpylät, mutta yleensä joka päivä pärjäsimme aamiaisella lounaaseen asti, jonka yleensä söimme ravintolassa (malgassa).

Ploselta pari tuntia alamäkeä ja sen jälkeen alkoi parin tunnin nousu. Sitten vielä pieni kävely Rifugiolle. Perille päästyämme klo oli 2 ja nautimme Affettato Miston (kylmiä leikkeleitä ja piparjuuritahnaa!) ja vehnäolutta.

Ennen illallista kävimme kurkkimassa Alta Via 2 reittiä, jossa oli lunta seuraavassa rinteessä ja harva sitä lähti kulkemaan, koska jääraudat kuulemma oli välttämättömät.

Alta Via 2 Day 1: I wake up, stuff myself at the @gasserhof breakfast buffet, and catch the bus down the mountain to begin the Alta Via 2 from the northern terminus at the train station. It’s over 6,200 ft / 1,890 m of straight climbing to start the first 7.5 mi / 12.1 km of the AV2. Most of the way up I’m crisscrossing a mountain bike trail and passing under the gondola all the lucky mountain bike riders are taking up. I should probably come back here with my mountain bike. Part of the way up also takes me along a downhill go-kart track which also looks incredibly fun. As much fun as walking uphill is, there sure are a lot of funner-looking activities. I reach the first hut, Plosehütte/Rifugio Plose and meet up with @paulinadao who took the gondola up. Thinking that I am avoiding a low route and staying on the official AV2, I take us up even further to nearly 9,000 ft / 2,700 m; I began this morning below 2,000 ft / 600 m. However, it turns out I was actually avoiding the AV2 and making up a higher route instead. Seems like it was more scenic than the alternative so I’ll say it was a good decision. The trail now descends a bit as it passes through the first of many alpine valleys. This particular valley is filled with idyllic structures speckled across rolling green fields. Said fields are filled with cows, but cows unlike any cows I’ve encountered in my time walking across the United States. These cows don’t run away from you. Instead, they stand in the middle of the trail threatening to donkey kick you if you walk past. Cows can donkey kick, right? It starts to get late and by the time I find an acceptable campsite, it’s well after dark. Camping laws here appear to be a bit of a gray area as camping (supposedly) is defined as staying in the same place for 24 hours while bivouacking is defined as setting up at dark and leaving at dawn.
