in this episode Imogen:
Took off her circlet. You know, that one that finally gave her peace and quiet, that soothed her constant pain and anxiety, and that gave her the confidence and energy to get back to fully feeling comfortable on her own skin after years. That’s the one. She just took it off.
Told laudna that she was disgusted by the fact that delilah was always watching them. You know, something that laudna fully has no control over whatsoever.
Admitted that she felt like she’s “tainted” and that the gods have been ignoring her for her entire life, in spite of her trying over and over to reach them. So she doesn’t really want to save them.
Mentioned being genuinely scared of meeting Liliana again. Totally not a problem, I’m sure nothing bad will happen there. Specially not in the next couple of episodes.
Said some unfair stuff to fearne, that I genuinely think is coming from somewhere else entirely, and I hope we circle back to eventually.
It’s safe to say that I am officially ✨worried✨ about the farmgirl

So @shasta627 suggested I post these thoughts of EoA ships. Maybe it will inspire someone to try or at least see why they are all. Only 4 though. Sorry I didn’t get to them all.
Eleteo: I'll keep this short because what can I say about the love of eleteo that hasn't been said or repeated by the fandom. I believe they are intrinsically bonded. Like soul mates. I mean they have been through so much with each other and though it hasn't been directly addressed or given full weight on the show, Elena has shown her vulnerabilities to Mateo more than to anyone else. She told him about the prophecy she told him about her powers, in fact he is the first one she goes to. And it's no surprise that Elena is the first one Mateo thinks of like when he unintentionally sabotaged Rita in Science Unfair because Elena happen to call. Though they may not know it, they truly put one each other first and are important to each other's lives. Plus there's the very special, magical addition that they grow not only as people, but in their powers together further cementing their bond in ways that no one else can touch or understand.
Gababel: I truly think Gababel works because they balance each other out. Not just in the thinking and acting categories but just in so many ways. Gabe does have an analytical mind, we just don't get too see it very often since he is all about action. That I think is front stemming from being Roberto's son where actions speak louder than words so Gabe tries to make that more prominent. That along with his big tough guy facade that he doesn't get emotional at all. That's where Isabel comes in. She helps him led go of those rough edges and make him see that it is okay to cry, it is okay to be do all the thinking and talking and show off your smarts, it doesn't make you any less strong. As for Isabel, she does have that analytical mind in the forefront which does cause ehr to pre-emptively worry and get her focused on the minutia. That's how Gabe helps her. Isabel is used to working on her own with all these thoughts while Gabe constantly has to work with his squad so Gabe helps her see that she isn't alone, the importance and even the fruitfulness that comes with teamwork as well as showing her how to free her mind from all that pre-planning and worrying by activating her free-thinking side. Gabe is able to exude confidence and thus lends Isabel that confidence when her self-esteem falters. And while their differences balance them out, they also have similarities in being entirely devoted to their work and understanding the hard work that is needed to get to where they want to be.
Estenaomi: Like Gababel, I enjoy Estenaomi because they have such commonalities. The thing with Naomi is that although she initially appears very confident, it's also clear that she has some insecurity issues. She knows she isn't really destined for greatness like Elena but she still wants to make an impact on the world. Be something special. Esteban is the same that he knows he can do things, sometimes he thinks he can be better than Elena, and he wants to be able to prove himself somehow and have his efforts be recognized. They have that common ground and the way they go about to achieve what they want is similar too in their obsessiveness to control everything and sometimes be impulsive (but that's more Esteban's thing). Not only that, but I enjoy their banter. They both hide behind snark which makes for some fun snark battles between the two but it is also nice because it helps them laugh at themselves when they get too serious (also more likely Esteban). They have so many similarities so even though they tend to disagree, on a base level, they actually agree on the most important things which is why they are able to stick through thick and thin when it is needed. Plus they also get the other to see the other side of lie ie. Esteban gives Naomi those fancy ruffly dresses that she secretly adores despite how impractical they are and Naomi takes Esteban on the adventurers he has always wanted to do.
Estoma: Some of this is influenced by my own hcs so take it with a grain of salt. I think primarily why they work so well together is because I can't believe that two people working together for 12 years under a brutal dictator to make Avalor better in spite of Shuriki's indifference can not not have a special history that only they can understand. Also they just get each other. They are both get the importance of appearance and propriety, like to follow tradition and being professional. Except when it comes to each other. I think it is very telling that any sort of professionalism goes out the window when it comes to fighting. I know it sounds crazy, but think about it, they have to act all adult and professional for the sake of negotiation with everyone but with each other they actually drop that mask and get pettily angry because they know there won't be any far-reaching consequences. I imagine that with each other, they are able to stop acting like the mature adults they've been all their lives and just let go. I also think they appreciate each other's candor. Deceptive schemes aside, they are brutally honest which again, is a relief from the required politeness and also fits how they are more realists/cynics. Also I see them as two people that started adulthood too soon and lost a lot of people they loved in the process so that totally bonds them in my mind in understanding loss, sadness and being forced to rely on oneself. Basically, they are the only ones who can push each other’s buttons well enough to break the facade.
