Meet Eely McEelface

I was watching the video for Eeler's Choice s2 crowdfunding and the fact that they had to specify that if you backed at the level that let you name a character, you would not be able to pick Eely McEelface, made me laugh so hard I knew what I had to name my new Eel chimera plush:

This fella immediately overtook MOST intense Teddy design! I originally thought I was in over my head, but goodness, I'm over the moon with how this little one came out!

This plushie is made with custom hand dyed minky, minky and a small bit of rope like cord. They stand at about 17 inches tall. Details are machine embroidered and appliqued, some of those accessories are removable, specifically the helmet, anchor, "arm accessory" and air tank. Helmet can be pulled over their head and closed via hook and loop, arm accessory can be slipped on and off the arm, it's literally a tube! Anchor has an elastic strap to wrap around the wrist, and the cord can wrap around the wrist to hide the elastic. Air tank is a backpack! They contain ball joint armature in their base body, and wire armature in the tail.

Starting off: the amount of simplifying this little one went through! I did my best keeping major details in the design, and winging a few "hidden" details, like the belt design and the back of the helmet.

In hindsight, I do partially wish I planned a little better and made some of the accessories out of other fabrics to add... Or reduce, some of the fluffy texture, but of course that would lose some of their cuddly-ness! Including the cuddly-ness of the arm accessory and anchor😂

Trying not to yap too much more, but holy cow, the amount of flop flipping between colors; I did end up setting for quite a few colors, and the most drastic change is actually very visible. The toe in the boots was the original grey, but unfortunately I only had dyed scraps and knew I wouldn't have enough for the whole plush. I was originally going to be selective with where I used that grey, but canned it all together!

No more yapping because I could go on and on, I'm gonna miss seeing this sweetheart on the shelf in my workspace! 😭

As of 12/18-- I can absolutely confirm that they are horribly missed, 🥺but happy to have them on their way to their forever home!

When you have the excruciatingly intense urge to cuddle your character hyperfixation but are a broke Plushmaker so you make one yourself

(If you’re on my queue for commissions, please don’t be mad bc this plush was more of a warmup to get back into sewing as well as a mental health necessity but I’m absolutely gonna start tackling the queue next)

Anyway, I fully acknowledge that he’s not perfect. The hair should fray out farther to the sides and should probably have more spikes and his labcoat is way too short. If the coat annoys me enough I’ll redo it later. He’s made from Shannon cuddle 3 minky like all of my plushies (except his eyes which are a stretch knit) and he’s pretty big, as you can see by the space he takes up in my computer chair. His limbs are weighted with pellets like on my Benson plush I made a while back (cough that’s still available cough) so he’s extra cuddly owo

Cat's Chimerical Creations Lore: Nina Tucker

This is Nina Tucker the Dog / Human Chimera:

I think most people, even if they've never read or watched a single moment of any version of Fullmetal Alchemist, is aware of Nina's backstory, so I won't go into that here.

None of us are really sure how Nina got here; for obvious reasons, when she first arrived she wasn't really in a position to tell us, and nobody wanted to push.

For the first year or so of her time with us, she stuck very closely to her Big Brother Nublet; we think maybe she was drawn to all the red in his colour scheme, but we don't really know. Nublet was an excellent brother, making sure she was safe, warm and cozy at all times and showing her all the spooky and Christmas things that he loves and even getting a second Christmas Hat for her to wear year-round so she could be like her big bro.

After she'd been with us for a year, Nina was hanging out on the sofa while her daddy watched Pro Wrestling. This seemed to inspire something in her, as she started to try putting a headlock on one of her brothers.

(although Fattiyeti took a few minutes to realise what was happening, and was a little suprised to find himself very slowly being pinned, he was more than happy to go along with it, both as part of being a good brother and for the joy of seeing Nina pick up an activity of her own accord)

Soon after this, Nina asked to have her Santa hat removed, and began requesting wrestling whenever we were discussing what to put on the telly.

These days, she loves to watch wrestling with her fellow fans, Sprite the Cerberus and No Legs Tigermask the action figure.

She also loves to practise her wrestling moves on her siblings, particularly Jimothy and Thomathan the Nightstalkers (who are always happy to use their long necks and tails to help her with any manoeuvre she's struggling with), and Minty, who can be replied upon for excellent heel promos.

In January of this year, Nina defeated the rest of the Bedtime Crew during a Hell in a Cell match:

Eventually, she would like to grow up to be one of the Wargs from Baldurs Gate 3, and eat many adventurers (in kayfabe).

The Pipotron trio have always been my favorite, particularly Blue. I made all 3 bc I couldn’t resist lol

These gorls are my OCs, Marine and Proto(type). In the fanfic I’m writing tho she’s referred to as Green by some but Proto by most.

And finally, everyone’s favorite albino boi, Specter. I used his Million Monkeys design bc that one is my favorite.

Also, bonus— my brother paid me to revive one of my ancient childhood OCs in the form of a plush. I’d rather have forgotten Pipotron Orange existed, but $70 is $70 😂
