I realize I have alot of metaseq/mmd knowledge floating around in my head that may not be common knowledge? and tbh I forget alot so. maybe I will post some randomly now and then.
Todays random MMD information is....
Have you ever wondered why some bones merge and some flip when you hit Mirror in PMD editor? Well, I can tell you why! It's important for any bone you want to flip instead of merge have the kanji for Left/Right in the bone name. Any bone with 左 (hidari/left) 右(migi/right) will automatically flip to the other direction when mirrored. if this kanji is not present, and the bone is not manually renamed before merging the sides, the bones will merge into one.
here's an example of my quadroped model that I made the bones for. Although he isn't compatible with mmd motions/is in english. I slapped on that kanji so I didn't have to manually rename anything while mirroring.
As you can see....I'm the kind of person who doesn't name my layers.
#mmd#mikumikudance#tutorial#i guess???#mmd tutorial#pmd editor#I want to help others also create new things instead of gatekeeping information.

hi back on my cursor bullshit again but this time im doing actual original art for these instead of pmd edits! i'll do pmd edits again whenever i feel like it, these were made cuz i saw a bunch of suuuper cute chunky lil nostalgic cursors and wanted to make animated ones for myself too!
As always, you can see the full listing that's also being updated w new ones not shown here (when i do more) along w the .gif and .ani files: https://toyhou.se/22802456.assorted-pokemon-cursors
They're also F2U btw!
#pokemon#cursor#pointer#webcore#gif#my art#shiny#eevee#skitty#pikachu#pichu#raichu#chibi#art q#if youre interested in making your own i use realworld cursor editor to make them#just pop a png or gif into it and you can make your own cursors#i have full instruction file on the pmd ones located on my toyhouse as well#if u arent making an animated one ive also used cursor dot cc or whatever it was#u can upload a png and itll let u download a cur file from it#its a website btw not a program like realworld is

I've been playing Explorers of Sky recently, really been having a great time with it which has been a pleasant surprise given how I've struggled with getting into Explorers in the past, probably will make a post about it at some point in the next week before Xenoblade X DE drops next week. But there is something about it I wanted to talk about.

What I want to talk about is, not necessarily a complaint I have with the the story, more a missed oppurtunity i guess? It's that for how significant Dialga and Palkia are to the story, it surprises me that Giratina has basically no presence within that story. With all the stuff about time stopping on space distorting, you'd think Giratina would be involved in some way but nope, he's relegated to an optional postgame dungeon as part of the Seven Treasures Sidequest, a set of dungeons with no real story attached to it at all, that wasn't even playable normally in Time and Darkness, you had to unlock it through Wonder Mail codes or Nintendo WiFi.
I feel like this could just be a consequence of hindsight since Explorers was initially developed alongside DP with Time and Darkness coming out in 2007, so it's possible they weren't made aware of or weren't allowed to use Giratina's lore, cause that was meant to be saved for Platinum. That's pure speculation though, I could be completely wrong idk, it could very well just be they didn't want to use it for anything.
I honestly feel like it's a shame they didn't include him though, I think it could have fit very well into the postgame story with Palkia hunting you for distorting space. That whole thing gets your partner questioning if they have the right to exist in the world at all which I feel would be an interesting parallel to Giratina, a pokemon who itself is exiled to The Distortion World, effectively not allowed to exist in the material world because of how it distorts space and time. Maybe in contrast to Dialga and Palkia being adversaries you have to fight against, Giratina could have been some sort of ally to you, maybe he saves you from Spacial Rift and accompanies you through another dungeon before confronting Palkia, could even give Palkia more reason to go after you if it sees you're allied with the literal embodiment of distortion and antimatter, further confirming the notions Darkrai is putting in its head as Cresselia.
#Absolutely suffering at the hands of Tumblrs post editor on this one#Mostly just spit balling here#I like Giratina a lot so I can't deny I'm a little disappointed at its lack of a role here#but I wouldn't say it's worse off because of it#Pokemon#pokemon mystery dungeon#pmd explorers#explorers of sky#Giratina

With a little bit of homebrew tomfoolery I present this masterpiece to you. Custom badges of some of my favorite PMD OCs on my 3DS! Unfortunately, the badge resolution of 128x64 doesn’t do them any justice, so go check out their creator’s pages.
Characters are (left to right) Clementine and Piper (@aimervee / @aimer-arts) as well as Rune and Dielle (@woo-led / @ask-obt)! I cannot express how much I love these goobers
If you want a tutorial, I can link it in the comments. You need to have CFW installed and GYTB.cia as well as an image editor like Photoshop (I used Photoshop CS6).

WAYS TO MAKE A PMD2 FANGAME/FAN SCENES WITH LITTLE/NO CODING EXPERIENCE
I normally see people recommend skytemple, but that never came easily to me as i'm not the most code-oriented person. So i'm opening the gates to something I find a lot easier personally!
PMD Origins.
PMDO is an open source fangame with a modding hub, and a ton of tutorials listed there! I used this to help me make what I have of the fangame. coding dialogue and cutscenes gets a little tedious, but there is an amazing code cheat sheet that you can edit + copy paste into your LUA editor to make it easier. Of course this is a lot easier w some coding knowledge, but I could get a lot done by following the tutorials and only knowing a little bit of python + c#! Check the embedded links to find the sources I used.
You can use and edit sprites and facesets from the sprite repository, with proper credit ofc!
Have fun making your fangames/messing around in the engine! :D

I spent more time scripting the cutscene than actually drawing portraits or rom editing. Still, very happy with the portraits considering I haven't done pixel art before.
Decidueye stats pulled from the PMD Expanded Sky hack.
Decidueye sprite and portraits by Reimu\_needs\_$$$.
Created with Sky Temple rom editor.

Eclipse offers an integrated development environment having an extensible plug-in system. This enables Eclipse to provide all functionality on the top of its run-time system. It’s also different from other applications (where the functionality provided by plug-ins are mostly hardcoded). Having the appropriate Eclipse plug is important to stay productive since it facilitates the Java developers to seamlessly develop and implement applications. Eclipse plug-ins also help them to implement their application on several types of application infrastructures. A regular eclipse user has dozens of add-on installed and often struggles to keep eclipse running fast. Therefore choosing the right plugin for your everyday development environment is essential. Below is the list of best free Eclipse plug-ins for a developer to be more productive - Code Quality Plugins FindBugs FindBugs plug-in is used with eclipse IDE and it is the software used to find bugs in Java programs. It’s free software licensed under Lesser GNU Public License. This is one of the most popular eclipse plugins and also available on Maven, Netbeans and IntelliJ. Checkstyle Checkstyle plug-ins can be integrated to IDE Eclipse and it ensures the Java code follows the coding standards. ECLemma ECLemma is a free tool available through Eclipse Public License and it provides fast development and test cycles. You can use “launch” in the code coverage mode which works like actual run/debug mode. One can render the analysis of the code through coverage view, source highlighting, counters and sessions. JDepend4Eclipse JDepend4Eclipse helps to traverse file directories and assists in measuring the quality of design. It is an open source tool licensed under Eclipse Public License v1.0. PMD PMD is a source code analyzer which helps to detect used variables and bad codes. (Update URL - http://pmd.sourceforge.net/eclipse/) SourceHelper SourceHelper helps to code and debug, and it also aids in providing clarity to the written code. Structure101 Structure101 helps to influence architecture when the code is edited, which means you can change the architecture without disrupting the code. Text Editor Plugins AnyEdit Tools The plug-in helps to add new editor to output consoles, toolbar, and it also help to import and export data. It is licensed under Eclipse Public License v1.0. Eclim Eclim helps to bring Eclipse functionality to one of the best editors - Vim, wherein development can be done in various languages and it also provides bug fixing provisions. It is released under GPLV3. Eclipse-rbe Eclipse-rbe is used for editing Java resources and its features include warnings for missing values, sorted keys, conversion from/to Unicode etc. It is licensed under GNU library or LGPL. Dependency Management Apache IvyDE Apache IvyDE is an Eclipse plug-in which helps to integrate Apache Ivy’s feature of dependency management to Eclipse. Additionally, it helps to manage dependencies in ‘ivy.xml’. It can be used with plug-in WTP and Ant. M2eclipse (Maven Plugin) M2eclipse helps to manage both simple and multi module projects, and Maven integration for Eclipse (M2eclipise) helps to launch maven from Eclipse. It provides features such as dependency management and automatic downloading. You may also want to checkout Some Best Free Maven Plug-ins for Developers Version Control Integration Plugins Subclipse Subclipse is a SVN plug-in which offers support for subversion of Eclipse IDE and it is licensed under EPL 1.0. Subeclipse 1.6.x supports ColabNet Merge Client. Subclipse provides easy interface to use the features. EGit EGit plug-in provides support, synchronizes view, reading for .git/ exclude files, provides rebasing and has streamlined commands for pulling and pushing. MercurialEclipse MercurialEclipse is one of the active Version Control System which gives you access on registration. It is a reliable plug-in which provides cloning repositories, push-pull synchronization and enables easy rollback.
P4Eclipse P4Eclipse seamlessly integrates the strengths of Perforce's version management system with Eclipse's. P4Eclipse provides a developer-oriented set of features from within the Eclipse Team framework that support a wide range of Agile and traditional development workflows. Framework Development Spring Tool Suite Spring Tool Suite provides development environment and tools such as XML file wizards and graphical spring configuration editor, which can be used for easy development. Spring IDE Spring IDE helps in developing Spring Application and provides interface to use the graphical editing framework. What’s more, Spring IDE display graphs of relationships and beans using configuration files. (Update site - Hibernator Hibernator helps to create or update schema, run hibernate queries and create mapping documents. The user can synchronize a Java class to a related mapped file. JbossTools JbossTools 3.2x support JBoss, Hibernate, Drools, XHTML, Seam etc. (Update site - Continuous Integration Related Plugins Hudson Hudson Status is a simple plug-in that displays the status (red/green) of a application on Hudson build server. Hudson is a very powerful continuous integration server, that is used in many large software development projects. Sonar Plugin Sonar Plug-in for Eclipse provides powerful integration of Sonar with Eclipse. It highlights code quality problems as we browse the code. Since the code quality standards definition is centralized on Sonar server, it ensures all developers are following same quality standards. Sonar is a open source platform used for centrally controlling the source code quality of software projects. Other Utility Plugins ASM - Bytecode Outline plugin ASM Bytecode Outline plugin shows disassembled bytecode of current Java editor or class file, allows bytecode compare for Java/class files and shows ASMifier code for current bytecode. You can install ASM from Eclipse Update Manager. It allows bytecode comparison to Java class. (Update site - Mylyn - Task Management Mylyn has a task focused interface and it provides a task management tool to the developers. Moreover, it helps to integrate rich editing tools and monitor activities. Eclipse Launcher Eclipse launcher is written in Delphi 6 and it helps to launch Eclipse IDE with configuration. FileSync FileSync is licensed under Eclipse Public License v1.0 and it is a file synchronization tool used for creating, deleting and mapping files. Log4E Log4E helps to use logger easily without getting bound to a special logging framework. Also, you can define your own preferences for logging templates. All in all, plug-ins allow Eclipse to be coded in other languages. Eclipse plug-ins is indispensable nowadays, since it greatly streamlines Java applications and reduces the complexity of Java. However, installing too many plug-ins can slow down Eclipse. Hence you require selecting the plug-ins judiciously. There are a number of other productivity plug-ins too, besides the ones mentioned. Checkstyle, JBoss Tools and Jadclipse are three of them. Do let us know if you have used some other plug-ins which you were impressed with. Article Updates Updated on May 2019: Minor changes and updates to the introduction section. Images are updated to HTTPS.

hmmm i wanna get back into mmd, i havent used it once this year, only accidentally opened it. but theres no good ninjagoo models for download and even when im interested in 3d modeling/animating idk how to do that and plus i take like years to learn new programs until im confident in using them my way... ugh, im gonna have to make yhem myself, dont i? damnit. (dont let this trick you, i might not actually start researching for this until 6 months later (i wanted to make my own models for literal years but the pmd/pmx editor parts always suck and theres no tutorials for them that work for me because theres always either texture or rigging issues in the finished thing as well as renaming parts and editing descriptions doesnt want to work))

i think I'd wanna make a pmd rom hack for amber's story because that way you can also experience everything she's experiencing, including getting jumped by 4 rotoms!
except I don't have a pc so I can't use the skytemple editor and I'd need to create custom backgrounds and areas for all the places in sinnoh
#not drizzile#ooc#i feel like amber's story would best be experienced as some form of comic but rom hack also works and im not that good at art yet

if you want to use sky as a base this tool exists
Apparently, the parent company of Spike Chunsoft is close to being acquired by Sony.
That would mean no more PMD games ever again, as the Mystery Dungeon series is a Chunsoft thing...
