Back on my Pokémon mystery dungeon craze. I love these games so much. I started replaying the old ones and getting into some rom hacks the community has made. I can’t get enough I swearrrrrr !!

Can someone who’s played Explorers of Alpha explain how this would even work? I’m pretty sure the amount of coins you can carry doesn’t go up to 6-digits.

In terms of gameplay and story, Explorers was miles ahead of Rescue Team. Removing Friend Areas in favor of a simple list of names however was a sin.

I spent hours trying to get a full "pokedex" in Rescue Teams because I could visit and hang out with my friends. I didn't bother in Explorers because like, it's just names on a list, what's the point...

If someone knows how to mod PMD I beg of you please make a romhack of Explorers of Sky where literally the only change is Friend Areas are back, I crave it, I long for it, I will help however I can

First day of heropartner week and I've already gone and made something sad :')

After Celeste obtains the purple bow from the guild (the aura bow, which is the same color that I actually got while playing this game), she's almost never seen with it off. It becomes a very sentimental item for both her and Snow, a reminder of the day the two of them met and joined the guild

And when Celeste disappears, it's the one part of her that she leaves behind...

PMD: Expanded Sky v1.3.0 is now live!

(for those who missed it, this is a pmd eos mod that adds starters from gens 5-9)

There's a lot of new pokemon this time but most importantly...

Grookey finally joins the roster, as does Axew! All starters are finally here!

Sobble's evolutions are also now both fully implemented, as are several regional evolutions! Pikachu can now evolve into Alolan Raichu, Cubone can evolve into Alolan Marowak, and Cyndaquil can evolve into Hisuian Typhlosion. Their regular evolutions are all still accessible as usual, but their other forms are also available as a branch evo.

Evolution info, IQ groups and movesets can now be found in this spreadsheet for ease of use.

A bunch of extra sprites and portraits for starter evolutions have been pulled in from the PMD Sprite Repository! To go with this, credits have been taken off the title screen and added to a new Cyndaquil NPC on the crossroads!

In-game evolution help can also be found in this NPC's menu.

There's been a couple of extra minor changes, such as fixes to Greninja's moveset, but further info can be found in the original post, the txt included in the download, and the download page.

PMD has a certain magic, doesn't it? You can just put a random group of Pokemon together, make them talk, add some characterization and backstory, and bam! You can't see them in any other way than fully realized characters ever again even when it's not PMD related! Warning! Seeing a Espeon, Plusle, Minun, Cherrim, Gulpin, Torkoal, and Diglett in a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon setting will cause side effects including but not limited to: Intense emotional attachments Uncontrollable need to love them all Sudden urges to cry, yell, and scream for their safety Existential dread Inability to not think about them and their lives and personalities Take PMD magic at your own risk. Long story short, it's the story of Grovyle and Dusknoir's origins, and how they ended up where and why they are in the events of explorers.

I don't wanna say more than that because I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that it's such a beautiful and faithful telling of their stories, and that I do truly believe that the world is a better, kinder place because it exists. I originally wanted to keep this to myself, because it turned out to be a VERY personal story for me - but then I realized the best thing I could to for what it gave me is to share this story and let it be heard and seen, and most of all, to (hopefully) let it walk with others as it has walked with me.

LONG STORY SHORT AGAIN I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! grovyle and dusknoir's story deserves to be shared, and deserves to shine!!! sharing this and giving others the chance to see them shine is genuinely the best thing I can do for them. no words can fully express how much I love them and their story because ARGHHHH IT'S JUST SO GENUINE!! but ofc, no pressure! at the end of the day I'm just really excited to share this, and do think that it'd be something you'd enjoy if you do decide to give it a go!

(it does use some strong (but not too strong) language occasionally, in case that's something you're wary about!)

Many thanks for the recommendation, I'll add it to my to-do list! Everyone better check it out as well and give it a try!

HELLO HELLO!

In a fit of what i can only describe as masochistic madness I spent the last week adding every single pokemon that has complete sprites to Explorers of Sky! (Kanto-Hisui) This is a fork of Explorers of Skies by Staro, credit goes to them for the QoL tweaks and implementation of the Fairy Type! (Staro if you see this and want me to take it down let me know, id be happy to)

You can download the patches HERE! Apply the patches with this web patcher. Let me know if anything is broken and ill do my best to fix it.

Theres way too many folks to credit individually for the portraits, please check here for the credits!

THIS IS A REPOST!! i had to fix a critical memory issue that was softlocking the game!! it should now replace any sprites with missing textures if the memory is overloaded instead of freezing, let me know if you encounter this and ill cull some actors from the scene to hopefully prevent it from happening again (sorry dugtrio and croagunk, your sacrifice was not in vain)

Big ask, but does anyone know if there's a 3ds-compatible romhack of any Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games that add shinies to it?

I've done a lot of searching and the only thing that comes up is about PMD DX and the very few shinies it has, which i'm totally not still salty about...

Though i'll also take any reccomendations for other pmd/pokemon romhacks, esp ones that change the story or make their own! I think they're fun :3
