I have so many thoughts and feelings about today's episode, and some of them are a little on the critical side, and that's ok. I absolutely loved the episode, so no worries there.
First of all, this is the conclusion of the Zero arc. We ALSO get to see Rion's death, and the one responsible for it. A non important hanyo on a battle field who just got lucky and snatched Rion when he had the opportunity. This tells us two things: that Kirinmaru did not listen to Toga, to his painful regret, and also that he never actually taught his daughter to defend herself. Rion was basically helpless. The guilt and blame that Kirinmaru must carry around would be enormous, but he has stuffed it all down in his pursuit of ruling. Maybe he wants to take the whole world down with him, I dunno.
But back to Zero. She ALSO didn't do anything to help Rion. She believed her brother was invincible and would save Rion, so of course she stood aside and let him handle it. Except it was too late. Then on top of that, Zero decided to stay home instead of follow her desire to help Toga. If Zero had been there, would Toga have died? That haunts her. She blames herself for staying home because she BELIEVED that Toga was invincible. And then she takes out all of that grief and blame on the human women who fall in love with demons. Because love is weakness, and loving humans leads to tragedy. In her own words.
I love that Setsuna set out to cut the string of fate and save Zero, and she understood that it might not be the string that connected Zero to Rin. Setsuna had enough compassion to sever Zero's regret that was holding her to Toga, releasing the emotions of her heart and finally letting her FEEL and process the grief. Setsuna trusted in her weapon to show her the right string, and it worked. I am so proud of our girl!!
Zero did her best to force Towa to kill her, and that was ROUGH. Watching Towa be inconsolable and believe in the lies that no one loved her was painful. When Zero's thread was cut and she finally understood that this wasn't the right way, it released hundreds of years of pent up emotions. The relief of finally being able to shed her tears in a healthy way was cathartic. I am glad that her arc ended in such a satisfactory way. Zero decided herself that it was time to go.
BUT I DID NOT EXPECT THAT OF RIKU HOLY SHIT I AM IN PAAAAAIIIIINNN POOR GUY HAD TO DO IT TO HER AND IT SUCKS.
That being said, the climax was... quick. Towa was FERAL, then ten seconds after Setsuna punched her, she was FINE and crying over the memories, and then she is just... CHILL?? Telling Zero she has no grudge against her. I applaud Towa, but it seems a bit unrealistic. This girl just learned that the entire reason her life was fucked up from the start was because of this woman and she just... accepts that all is good?? Even a kind person would struggle with that. Towa doesn't have to try to kill Zero again, but she could have struggled with the forgiveness part. That's my thoughts on the matter. I would have liked a bit more of "you hurt me and my family a lot, but I am willing to accept your apology and set things right" kind of sentiment.
IN ANY EVENT I AM SO HAPPY I GOT THE SISTER HUG OF REUNION AND UNDERSTANDING AND SETSUNA GOT HER MEMORY BAAAAAAAAACK HUZZAH AND JOY FOR DAYS

Mastermind! Chihiro Fujisaki - The Sixth Trial
This wasn’t exactly an old request, just a suggestion to write whatever I felt like. And I love mastermind AUs so fucking much, please, flood my inbox asking about them, I just wanna talk about our lord and savior mastermind chihiro - Mod Akane
“And that would mean..” Makoto begins, the realization striking him as he turns to Chihiro, staring fearfully back at him. “Y-You’re the mastermind, Chihiro!”
There’s doubt in his voice. He doesn’t want to believe it. His friend, who’d opened up to him, who shares his deepest secrets, in his most vulnerable state… he’d orchestrated all of this? From the outside, he looked like he would burst into tears if he killed a bee. Suppose that’s the trick behind it…
“C-Chihiro..? I-It was you..?” Asahina stutters, looking at him horrified.
“I-I-” Chihiro begins to stutter. He looks like he’s on the verge of bursting into tears. No one in the courtroom believes this claim, how could they? But the evidence was stacked against him..
It’s before anyone can argue that Chihiro snaps into an entirely new persona, and the tears are gone. “Yep! That’s me! I’m the mastermind!”
Everyone takes a step back. Chihiro’s face contorted in a way no one had ever imagined. In an instant, his entire personality changed. His tears evaporated into thin air and despair seemed to wash over his face, seeping down to his very core as his eyes lost all sign of true emotion.
“Gosh, you’re so smart, Makoto!” Chihiro says, clapping his hands like a child. “I can’t believe you found me out!”
“No. There’s simply no way this is possible.” Byakuya interrupts, crossing his arms. “Chihiro, stop playing games. There’s no way you are the mastermind.”
“Oh no, I really am!” Chihiro smiles. With a snap of his fingers, Monokuma shut down, almost like he was playing dead where he stood on the ground. Chihiro left his podium and approached the robot, standing next to it and humming while he examined it.
..And then, in a sudden instant, he slammed his foot into the robot, kicking it as hard as he could. Monokuma flew into a distant wall, shattering into a million black and white pieces as Chihiro didn’t even blink. Everyone in the courtroom drew back, even Byakuya and Kirigri, unable to hide their shock.
“H-Holy shit!” Yashuiro screams in fear as Chihiro turns back towards the circle of survivors. The room begins to fill with smoke, making most people cough and wave it away from their faces. In a second, it clears, revealing Chihiro in a new outfit, with a Monokuma-esq color palette to boot.
“Da-dun-dun! That’s right, the mastermind all along was Chihiro Fujisaki!” He smiles wildly, throwing his arms out in a grand gesture. Standing between Asahina and Yashuiro at his new podium, he seems so small, but he’s so.. Terrifying. The sudden switch in personalities shook everyone to the very core.
“This doesn’t make sense..” Kirigiri mutters. “How could you control Monokuma and almost never leave our sight?”
Chihiro backs up until he’s sat on top of the ‘throne’ Monokuma used to always sit on top of. He crosses his legs and leans back, getting comfortable in his seat above everyone else. “Pfffffffft! He’s an AI, come on Kirigiri, aren’t you smarter than this?” Chihiro mocks Kirigiri. “I’ve been living under your noses as the Ultimate Programmer, Monokuma wasn’t even my best work!”
“That doesn’t make sense. His movements and conversations with us.. They’re nothing like any AI I’ve ever seen.” Byakuya argues.
“Clean your glasses, Byakuya! Didn’t you see Alter Ego?” Chihiro poses the question as he sits up and leans over the arm of his chair towards Byakuya. “They’re all easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy!~ I’ve got an iron grip on the technology production from here to Towa City!”
“Speaking of Alter Ego..” Kirgiri interrupts, halting Byakuya’s personal slander. “What was the point of presenting him to us?”
Chihiro lets out a giggle. “Yeaah, Alter Ego was a bit of a mistake on my part! You weren’t supposed to find it. But since you did I thought it wouldn’t hurt to spin you in the wrong direction a bit!”
“And his execution?”
“Oh, that was Monokuma’s decision! Spur of the moment thing. I didn’t really mind, it was collateral damage!” Chihiro shrugs. “Collateral damage.. Kinda like Mondo and Kiyotaka!” He smiles, and as he watches everyone in the room come to a full stop before looking at Chihiro with disgust.
“C-Collateral d-damage..?” Makoto stutters. “T-Those were our friends, Chihiro! What the.. What the hell!? They were your friends!”
“Huh, were they?” Chihiro asks sarcastically, tapping a finger to his chin. “Huh. If they were, I just used them!”
“Y-You what…?” Asahina stutters.
“I used them! I mean, Mondo and Taka were like a package deal! I needed Mondo to make me stronger, and Taka only played by my rules! Let me tell you, it was s-”
“S-Shut up!” Makoto interrupts Chihiro, who perks up, interested in his sudden boldness. “W-We still need to talk about what happened in the last trial!”
“Oooh, you mean where I killed Sakura and framed Toko ‘cus I got bored? What’s there to talk about?” Chihiro asks, excited. “...Aha, did I let that slip?”
“R-Repeat that.” Asahina suddenly becomes cold, her fists balled tight at her sides.
“I’m sure you heard me, Asahina!” Chihiro smiles, standing from his throne and once again approaching the podium. “I killed Sakua and framed Toko!”
Asahina begins to breathe heavy, doing  everything in her power to contain her anger as Chihiro continues to talk. “I mean, really, do you think Toko could actually kill Sakura? I don’t even think her wacky double-personality could’ve taken her down! So I worked a bit of magic, aaand..!”
“SHUT THE HELL UP!” Asahina screams, slamming her hands on her podium. “Y-You- You bastard! What the fuck is wrong with you Chihiro?!” She screams, turning and grabbing him by the collar, dragging him close to her face, so close that his feet barely grazed the ground. “I- You fucking killed her! Y-You killed Sakura! I-I- I loved her, you...you..!”
Chihiro doesn’t even look phased as Asahina spits venom in his face. “Hey, Hina! You remember what happened to Junko? Right?” He grins sadistically as the fear begins to strike Asahina, who drops him and takes a step back.
There’s a familiar whirring noise, and out of nowhere there's a spear that shoots from the middle of the room towards Asahina, almost identical to what happened to Junko. Asahina flinches and draws back violently, forcing the spear to only grace her cheek before slamming into the wall behind her. She opens her eyes, breathing heavy with fear as she held her hand to her cheek. “O-Oh my god..”
“Gah, I missed!” Chihiro pouts. “I need to get better at shooting games.”
“G-Games?! Y-You could’ve killed me!” Asahina yells, still holding a hand to her cheek.
“That’s the fun in it!” Chihiro grins. Once upon a time, this was a wide, innocent grin. Now, it was nothing but evil. Full of despair and agony. And that’s probably exactly what Chihiro wanted.
Makoto could only wonder- what could possibly push this poor boy to the breaking point..?
If you looked close enough, the answer was laid out in plain sight.
“Well!” Chihiro claps his hands. “What is there to talk about now? Surely the trial won’t come to a close so easily!” Chihiro scans the room, taking in every facial expression of pure disgust and pain around him.
“Why..? Why did you do all this?” Makoto asks, basically gripping his podium for dear life. He couldn’t just take all of this in easily. One of his best friends, through this entire hellhole, a person he’d protected with his fucking life and would follow into battle blindly… he was the mastermind? Chihiro, a boy who no one would suspect, he was pulling the strings, he’d orchestrated every death, he’d warped Hope’s Peak into a place of despair..?
He recalls the moment in the bathhouse when he told Kirigiri: “I’d follow you into battle if I had to!”
And her response.. “Not such a wise choice, is it?”
Chihiro’s face falls. “Do you know what it’s like, Makoto..?” His tone changes, it’s low and unlike anything anyone had heard from Chihiro before. “To be bullied, every single day, pummeled into the fucking dirt?!” Despair overwhelms his entire face, but he starts to laugh.. “Every.. Goddamn day! Until the point where you.. Hahaa.. You’ve gotta change your whole identity, just to be safe!”
“Chihiro.. I-” Yasuhiro looks like he’s about to set a hand on his shoulder. Forgetting for just a moment that this was a boy who’d killed his friends, and possibly even thousands, just remembering that once upon a time they were friends.
Chihiro smacks his hand away with alarming strength, still laughing all as tears gather in his eyes. “NO!” He screams, almost like it was a reflex. “I don’t need.. Ahahaha.. I don’t need anyone’s help anymore! That despair..it only.. It only made me stronger! AhahaAHAHAHA! A-And I- I’ve basked this entire world in despair!” Chihiro hugs himself, breaking into boisterous, manic laughter.
“What do you mean, the entire world?” Byakuya asks, seemingly unphased by Chihiro’s manic breakdown. Of course, Byakuya wasn’t ever ‘friends’ with the boy… though part of him couldn’t help but reflect on the.. Choice words he’d used against him before.
Chihiro doesn’t even stop laughing. “Oh, ah..ahaha! I forgot all about that! While you were all locked up in here, the entire world has plunged into despair!” He claps his hands twice, before throwing his arms out wide, gesturing towards the monitors on every corner of the room. The monitors flicker, then turn on, showing a repeating news broadcast.
The broadcast was simple, a repetitive broadcast of a red sky overtop of war and destruction, all with the face of Monokuma plastered all over.  It shakes everyone in the room to the core, except for Chihiro, who gleefully watches his handiwork as he wipes his tears away. “Isn’t it lovely!? Everything destroyed.. Right down to your very bloodlines!”
“No. I simply won’t believe this.” Byakuya starts again. “This is foolish. A highschool boy couldn’t just take down the world.”
“Ahaha, I didn’t work alone, silly Byakuya!” Chihiro grins. “Despair spreads like a plague! And that plague even took down your precious Togami family!”
“Wh-What..?” Fear seems to take over  Byakuya, if only for a split second. “Th-The Togami family doesn’t just lay down and die! Who the hell backs you!?”
Chihiro laughs. “Despair, dummy! How many times do I gotta repeat myself!?” The words send Byakuya down a spiral, even without evidence.. The very thought shook him to the core.
“H-Hey!” Makoto argues. “This can’t be true! Last I remember, the world was just fine! We’ve been here a month, tops, there’s no way you could’ve done this in all that time!”
“Weren’t we already over this?” Chihiro asks. “You lost your memories! If I whack ya hard enough, you might get ‘em back! But we’ve all been cooped up, shielded from the outside world! And now you’ve spent your days trying to crawl out of this home we all built together! Isn’t that just a tad hypocritical?”
“W-Wait, you mean..?” Asahina catches what Chihiro means first- the world had crumbled, and they’d all been here for two years, and then they…
“W-What was the point of all of this!?” Makoto asks, cutting off any other thought processes about how they’d been gone for two whole years.
“Huh? Well, I kept you alive, hijacked the airwaves, and displayed you murdering each other for the world to see because I wanted to spread despair to the last dying shreds of hope in the world!” Chihiro explains casually. “I mean, I’ve laid this all out in plain sight for you.”
“W-” Byakuya begins to speak.
Chihiro interrupts. “Yeah, yeah, be quiet, we’ve had enough of you. Now!” He claps his hands together, excited. “Since this is a trial, I give you one last vote. You can vote for despair- vote to give me the punishment I deserve- or, vote for hope, and stay here for the rest of your golden days!”
“L-Let me get this straight..” Asahina starts. “If we just vote for hope, none of us die..?”
Chihiro hums. “Well, I suppose, but.. That doesn’t sound as fun! So how about this: vote for hope, and I’ll only execute one of you! The rest of you get to live out the rest of your lives with moi.” He folds his hands under his chin, in an oh-so familiar way. Was he mocking Celeste..?
“W-Who’ll get executed..?” Yasuhiro stutters.
“Hm..” Chihiro hums as he looks around the room. He starts pointing from person to person. “Eenie.. Meanie… minie… you!” He lands on Makoto, who exhibits a fearful look in return.
“Y-You’ll execute me…?” Makoto stutters, fearful. Somewhere inside him, this felt familiar.
“Well of course! You seem to be the obvious answer.” Chihiro smiles gleefully, as if he didn’t just imply that with ease he would slaughter his friend. “Why, you used to be my closest friend! You.. were the first person I trusted! What better despair than for you to die at my own hands?”
Makoto takes a deep breath as he turns to his friends, full of despair and pain. Their hands hovering over their levers, obvious that they would seem.. Almost willing to put Makoto’s life on the line. He looks back at Chihiro, with a devilish grin paired with despair-filled eyes. He starts to laugh, like a loud symphony, bouncing off the walls and into everyone’s ears in an inescapable manner. He laughs so hard he almost starts crying once more, laughing so much it hurt.
Laughing like someone who’d been torn up inside and out and loved every fucking minute of it.

My mom™ watches Yashahime episode 14:
“Who is the girl and why is there so much snow?”
“Oh, the creepy pretty boy again. I don’t like him.”
“Why a new opening? I liked the old one.”
“Hold on! *pauses the video* isn’t that the girl who always accompanied the ethereal beauty? Does that mean she is the twins’ mom? Ew, gross.”
“Inuyasha and the cool schoolgirl who shoots arrows! Does that mean they will appear soon?”
“The himbo monk and the badass exterminator!”
“Eh, I guess I like the new opening except for the implications that the lovely child is the twins’ mom.”
“First clue of the reason behind Moroha’s debt. Could it be she is paying her freedom?”
“Grown ass men going after a 13-year old? Hell no.”
“I know I’m not supposed to laugh but that montage of the fire-spitting demon burning people to death was a bit funny.”
“Okay but why wasn’t Towa freaked out by this information? She was raised in the modern world. This doesn’t look good, they are trying to normalize those relationships.”
“Excuse me but I don’t get the analogy between being addicted to your phone and kidnapping a minor and forcing her to live with you.”
“I don’t like the turtle-bear thingy, he is an ass.”
“What is the robe of the fire rat? Oh, so it’s the same thing Inuyasha wears? But how did she get it if she was separated from her parents when she was a baby?”
“So the ethereal beauty just walked away after that woman threatened to burn his daughters to death? Father of the year.”
“I don’t trust anything the creepy pretty boy says or does.”
“Why do I have the feeling we will see the pretty girl again?”
“Poor Moroha, she just can’t catch a break.”
“I’m not feeling this new ending but I guess I will get used to it like I did with the other one.”
“Holy shit YOUR CHILDREN! Omg omg will they explain what happened to them? Are you prepared? Is that a meteorite? Huh, so the ethereal beauty took the newborn twins and hid them in the forest? Ew, why did he stuck his fingers into Inuyasha’s eye? Ugh, so the child is the mother. I’m so disappointed.”

Superhero-ing Gone Awry
Red is a superhero and college student who fights crime. Napster is her faithful tech-y sidekick.
“You doing okay out there Red?” Napster sounded in my ear.
“I’m fine!” I growled.
“You sure? You’re moving a little slower than usual,” Napster said uncertainly.
“Just a little under the weather today. It’s nothing to worry about,” I assured him.
“If you’re sick maybe you shouldn’t-“ Napster started.
“I said I’m fine!” I snapped effectively silencing the poor guy. I let out a heavy sigh as I surveyed the area. One of Dr. Deranged’s creations just had to be out tonight. I should have been in home in bed. Hell I knew that but I had responsibilities to take care of.
I landed on the next rooftop pausing for a minute to catch my breath. Holy shit this sucked. His mutant’s timing could not be worse. My eyes scanned the streets below. All I wanted was to get this over with as quickly as possible and get back in bed where I belonged. It didn’t take long for me to find him, the sound of alarms were a pretty good indicator that I had found him.
“He’s at Synowicki’s on the corner of-“ Napster rattled off.
“Yeah I got it,” I hissed cutting him off. I looked towards the ground below and then towards some piping along the walls. I was so going to regret this later. The pipe was fairly sturdy. Taking hold I carefully slid down the pipe until I reached the ground. I darted down the alley way cutting down behind one building and down another alley landing me right outside Synowicki’s Jewelry store. The large glass windows were completely smashed in, glass littered the ground. The metal grates over the window were bent backwards creating a large opening for me to enter. Our perp was standing in the middle of the jewelry store smashing his way through the glass cases and snatching up what he could- shoving jewelry into a filthy pillowcase. I cleared my throat but he continued smashing through cases with his bare hands, which conveniently enough shifted to a dense metal whenever he so chose
“Were flowers and chocolates not cutting it?” I shouted over the alarms. The man spun around with a scowl etched into his harsh face.
“Beat it kid!” The dark haired villain sneered.
“Look can we just skip to the part where I kick your ass so I can go home,” I whined. The man gave me a curious look before bursting into laughter.
“Yeah sure kid,” He waved me off as he continued to smash through the cases. Fuck this shit. As he reeled his fist back to smash another case I leapt over to him catching his arm and holding him back. He growled as he turned his attention to me. I scowled at him in no mood to play these games.
“That’s it. you’re in for it now kid!” He hollered pulling his fist back.
Though his fists (and who knows what else) could transform into literal titanium his movements were slow. He took a swing at me which I sidestepped easily. Iron Fists went stumbling forward thrown off by his own momentum. I allowed myself a small smile. This would be over quickly. He turned around snarling. Sick or not I could still do this. He lunged at me but once again he was to slow. I stepped around him. He lumbered forward a few steps before spinning around with another swing of his arm. I ducked under his punch and quickly sidestepped the other fist headed in my direction. The quick movement caused the room to spin. I took a steadying step backwards head now dizzy. Damn it, pull yourself together! You’re not that sick! I shook my head trying to clear some of the fuzziness surrounding it. My momentary distraction was enough for Iron Fists to gather his bearings and aim another punch my way, only this time it hit. Blinding pain ripped through my side as I fell to the floor.
“Fuck!” I screamed upon impact. Black spots clouded my vision. The punch hurt about as much as you might imagine a metal fist tearing across your ribcage might feel like, which is to say it hurt… a lot. Tears stung the backs of my eyes. Oh great! That looks heroic! I groaned as I started to pull myself up to my hands and knees. Too slow. Another excruciating punch this time to my cheek. My arms collapsed beneath me. Not good, not good. A metal footed kick to my stomach knocked the wind out of me leaving me coughing and sputtering for air. Get up! Get up! He’s going to kill you if you don’t Get. The. Fuck. Up! He raised his foot reading to stomp it over my head. Nope, nope, nope, nope. I rolled out of the way his foot missing me by a fraction of an inch and smashing straight through the floor. He howled in outrage as he started to yank his foot free. I jumped to my feet ignoring the inevitable spinning that accompanied the movement. I gulped down air as I tried to regain my bearings. My pulse thrummed against my neck pounding in my ears. I blinked the sweat out of my eyes. Should I be sweating already?
He hooked his fist left, I ducked, my head protesting in response. He lumbered forward swinging aimlessly to the right. I stumbled backwards desperate to get out of the way. His fist clipped my shoulder causing me to lose my balance. My arm reached out automatically to catch myself. My hand clamped onto the golden edge of one of the broke cases, My forearm slamming down into one of the broken shards still sticking up from the side of the case. I let out a high pitched cry as I released the case and fell fully onto my back, panting as I clutched my wounded arm to my chest. Iron Fists Skin shimmered into a bright silver. So it’s his whole body then… Shit! He collapsed on top of me. I cried out as his knee rammed down on my shin. His fist slammed down on my face. Everything in my vision blurred. My ears rang and my body burned. Panic rose up in my throat or maybe that was just bile. He punched me again. Spots clouded my vision. I wouldn’t last long like this. My hands scraped at the ground floundering for a piece of glass large enough to use as a weapon. My fingers finally curled around a sharp shard drawing blood. I looked up at him through bleary eyes as he reeled another fist back and then I realized one very fatal flaw to my plan. The dude was made of fucking metal!!!
My eyes locked onto his begging for mercy. His eyes looked down on my cold and merciless. I started laughing to myself in my foggy fever induced hysteria. Iron Fists hesitated and that was all I needed. I bolted upright driving the glass shard into his left eye, one of the only things nonmetal about him at the moment. He roared in pain wrenching back onto his haunches freeing me from where I had been pinned. I rolled over onto my hands and knees scrambling to get away. My face was suddenly forced into the ground chin first before sliding to the side and being smeared across the glass cluttered tile.
“You’re dead!” He barked.
“Napster!” I mumbled through the squeezing of my face. All the lights in the entire building suddenly flipped on to full capacity. The man hissed his arms raising to shield his eyes…eye. I stumbled up blindly to my feet trying to put as much distance as I could between us while I had the chance. I blind a few times looking for anything I could use to my advantage. My eyes landed on the fire hydrant. I stumbled forward body screaming in white hot pain. I could scarcely breathe. The alarms were drowned out by the sound of my own heartbeat. I was fading faster than usual this time.
Iron Fists screamed his feat clanking against the tile as he pulled himself to his feet. Napster jumped through the broken window baseball bat in hand. Never had I been so happy to see that stupid blonde head of his Napster quickly charged Iron Fists with his aluminum bat. I squeaked as I watched Napster take a hard blow to his eye. Napster swung the bat hitting the man hard in the stomach pulling the bat back however only proved that more damage had been done to the bat than to Iron Fists. Iron fists snickered as he grabbed Napster’s head and smashed him into the floor. I turned back towards the fire extinguisher and tripped, catching myself on the ‘Break Glass’ Box and using it to pull myself back up on unsteady legs. Without wasting anymore time I slammed my elbow through the glass, gritting my teeth through the sting. I yanked the fire extinguisher free whirring it around and aiming it towards my least favorite person in this moment. I sprayed it in his… eye. He coughed as he staggered backwards. Napster jumped back into action going to punch our metal friend in the side of his head. Napster winced but continued aim his fists towards the metal man. Iron Fists swept his across Napster’s face backhanding him back onto the floor.
I leapt forward raising the extinguisher above my head and slamming it down over Iron Fists. The extinguisher bounced back a fat dent now in it’s side. He growled in reply. Nope! I’m not doing this again! I slammed the container against his head again and again and again in rapid succession, the movement making even me dizzy. As I brought it down one final time the container burst open. I jumped back coughing as I crawled away from the white… what even was that stuff!?!
My face burned, my eyelids now feeling to heavy to stay open. I crumpled to the floor curling into the fetal position as my breathing became more shallow. The world spun around me. I closed my eyes to no avail. My stomach lurched into my throat. I opened my eyes and instantly regretted it. The world pulsed with my heartbeat as it spun in dizzying circles.
“Red? Red!” Napster’s voice sounded far away. I reached my arm out towards the sound an involuntary groan escaping my throat in response to the movement. The fuzzy image of Napster appeared in front of me. Behind him I could see our silver and slightly dented friend scoop up his winnings and make a break for the door. I lifted my head wanting to go after him but physically unable to. I instantly collapsed back to the ground breathing heavy. The edges of my vision were black creeping inwards. Sirens sounded in the distance. I looked towards Napster. Never before had I been so completely helpless in front of him.
“I have to get you out of here,” Napster warned before sliding his arms under me. I whimpered as he hefted me up into his arms bridal style. I curled into him hanging on as if my life depended on it (which it kind of did). I breathed in the smell of his cologne and nuzzled further into his neck. I squeezed my eyes shut as the tears I had been holding back finally escaped, rolling in steady streams down my cheeks. My body was jostled around as Napster hurriedly carried me out of the building and away from the screeching sirens. I mumbled incoherently into Napster’s throat before the darkness finally overtook me.
