Roy Lauderdale

My grandpa was Roy Lauderdale. He was born 01 Jun 1903 in the Cedar Grove area of Pope County, Illinois. His parents were John Logan Lauderdale and Millie S. Barger. He married Myrtle Barger on 29 May 1936. They were the parents of three daughters, still living. They lived on Water Tower Road. The old house is gone now. I remember driving by it while on my way to Bell Smith Springs. Then one day it was gone.

I don't remember him at all. He died 09 Jan 1970 of a heart attack. I was not yet 5 years old. He is buried with his wife in Boulden Cemetery. A few years ago, I was at the cemetery taking pictures for my family tree. An older man showed up. We began talking. He knew my grandpa. He remembered that he always had good hunting dogs.

His dogs were even mentioned in his obituary.

Here is his family tree. I have had my DNA tested at ancestry.com. My grandparents were distant cousins. It makes it harder to figure out the match when you can get to the same ancestors on four different lines.
