There’s satire about job creation and Congress creating laws for their own profit (it’s a literal porkbarrelling joke).

It’s taking its aesthetics from the Hunger Games movies.

Everything is controlled by visible social media metrics.

And incredibly, despite what you might think, this is NOT a David Cameron joke: Piggate hit the newspapers on 20 September 2015, while this comic came out 26 August 2015. Absolute immaculate timing in terms of an accidental reference. Sadly I suspect it did not help sales.

i would not label this is as "cops getting owned" or "LOL COPS ARE SO MAD!!" lol its actually quite common and very obviously logical that public sector workers would be annoyed by and fed up with bloated budgets that are not going towards broad salary increases and better working conditions (typical shifts are 12+ hours, very little money goes towards mental health services), but rather towards pointless porkbarrel insfrastructure spending like fences around station parking lots and inflated raises for those in the upper ranks (captain, deputy chief, chief, sheriff, etc). i highly doubt that what these statistics are showing are that the families of cops are secretly woke ACAB and held hostage by their cop family member threatening to beat them for posting about superwholock. these statistics are almost certainly informed by low and mid ranking cops going home and bitching to their family about how the captain just got another raise on top of stealing things from impound and skimming money off the top of auctions, and the family being like yeah fuck Mike

Monday March 29th 2021 – When I said here the other day that I’d been riding home all the way from Telford I had a message telling me I must be mad. I strongly disagree. I’m getting more bike/open air time, my mental health is improving daily as is my physical heath. This lockdown porkbarrel will not be in a hurry to depart at my decrepit age, I can tell you. It needs this kind of help.

It isn’t that far. I wouldn’t do it in bad weather, or if very tired. There’s always the rail alternative. and there’s the sights one sees: Like today. Riding near Brewood, the plethora of pheasants were tricky from a safety point of view (they have no road sense) but they are such handsome birds and their antics can be hilarious.

But I had most time for the tiny black puss I met on the edge of a stable yard at Coven: In beautiful condition with the kind of piercing green eyes that make you feel guilty for the sins of your elders. Puss sat her ground (sure she was female) and stared me out resolutely. She was gorgeous.

I got home feeling happier, more relaxed and better physically than I’ve felt for weeks. And only 20 minutes later than had I gone by train, and 30 minutes later than driving. That’s all win while the weather is so nice.

sure, but even if you get past that hurdle of successfully taxing the ultra rich there's still the issue of allocating funds. I don't know much about Aussie politics but from the posts you've made it sounds like a clusterfuck. Perhaps I'm just too pessimistic, but do you honestly thing the politicians in power will put that money to good use or will it evaporate into porkbarrel spending?

most likely the latter, but really the goal is to get the billionaires to allocate it themselves to avoid the tax altogether.
