Please help me afford basic necessities for me and my disabled father

Hi my other posts are losing traction and things are getting worse by the day. I’m a 20 year old, disabled, mentally ill lesbian caring for my disabled, bedridden dad, full time and unpaid. We’re losing major appliances one by one, first, our washing machine broke, and having clean clothes for my dad is an absolute necessity. Then, our stove caught fire and shorted out. Now, our baseboard heat has given out and stopped working. I’m trying to keep my father out of the hospital, but the cold and his conditions don’t mix well and he’s very susceptible to sickness. On top of that, I don’t want him being exposed to the virus. I’m asking for donations to get a portable heater, groceries, and trips to the laundromat, etc. A penny, a dollar, a reblog, anything helps. 💖

Stopping thoughts, the practice of simple awareness, these are the keys with which a man can unlock the fourth room. To one who has never tried to use this method, it might appear almost too easy. What could be simpler than to impose silence on the gibbering roof brain, which, like a badly designed radio, generates so much noise (using this term in the electronic sense) that every message is distorted?

Few disciplines, however, are more uncongenial to contemporary man than the intentional silencing of the noise machine. This gibbering mechanism ceaselessly pouring out its flood of inner conversations, arguments, schemes and aimless chatter, has come to occupy so large a place in man's awareness that he often regards it as his very self.

If this noise is switched off accidentally or if he switches it off intentionally, he has an uneasy feeling of non-existence. Contemporary man, using this term somewhat loosely to describe the mass produced semi-automata that make up the bulk of the world's large man-swarms, fears inner silence and avoids places that induce inner silence, be they deserts or mountains or empty stretches of ocean.

In case their inner noisemaker ever fails them and by some accident falls silent, they carry with them portable radios, drowning any awareness they might happen to develop in a wash of senseless sound. Should this recourse fail, they hasten to some party where, in an atmosphere poisoned by the fumes of alcohol or tobacco, they exchange at the tops of their voices a stream of inanities concerning their own or other people's lives.

All inner work involves the imposing of inner silence. To enter the silence as often as possible and to remain there for as long as possible is the goal of all followers of the Way, be they yogis, Sufis, Zen Buddhists or Christian mystics. But, as John Cassian complained to the Abbot Serenius, whenever the mind is brought under control, it slips away "like an eel out of my hand," or as Arjuna said to Krishna: "The mind is restless, turbulent, powerful and obstinate. I deem it as difficult to control as the wind."

There is nothing dramatic or heroic about the struggle with the noise machine. Results are obtained by the repetition of small efforts, like drops of water wearing away stone. Before these efforts can be made, the student must have an inner conviction that the daydreams and imaginary conversations really are useless, unprofitable, and, at times, downright dangerous.

Only when he has acquired a taste for the inner silence and a corresponding distaste for the inner noise can his efforts attain a level of intensity that produces a real change. He must realize, not just intellectually but also emotionally, that the stream of daydreams occupying his mind is a symptom of the state of waking sleep, of existence in the third room, a world of unreality and illusion. If he wishes to emerge from the third room, he must sacrifice his daydreams however attractive or harmless these dreams may appear.

I have not been active here for a while.

Update even though I'm not popular or charismatic on this app and don't have followers who like look out for my posts.

I came out as bi when my partner came out as a trans women and I realized I can't ignore my attraction to women anymore. Also learned self care. Avoid all bi discourse. Do not interact with those in the gay community who exclude bi men for not being gay enough as if our attraction to men and experiences from that is canceled by our attraction to women.

Anyways. I am now a senior in biology and I graduate after next semester. Got my hopes up that I could get the entomology minor but they are only adding that to the curiculum...after I graduate... I have all the requirements for it filled except for one more entomology class I plan to take next semester and also I won't be here when it is available.

I moved with my gf and we are still having major money problems. Relying on college returns but I need that for my rent for the year cause work study is not enough and I'm a full time student. Struggling to get my gfs legal records so she can be officially hired in the area. It's taking forever to get to us. Found out the washing machines are coin operated and because of the national coin shortage the only place that would break paper money to coins walking distance ran out of coins and we can't drive. So I dropped a bunch of money for a portable washer. Which will suck.

Plan to take a gap year to save up money after I graduate so I can afford to move Sierra and I out of state to a college I get accepted to for an entomology masters.

I restarted the entomology club on my campus and spoke in front of the general entomology class I've already taken on invite from the professor/my advisor/club adviser.

For a semester and through summer I worked in the entomology department cleaning and organizing the appartment, fixing and organizing the entomology collection, and helping out with brown tail moth research and data collection. Now I work in the home and farm musuem on campus as secretary and gardener.

Got into pagan witch craft. I specialize in divination spells. Rune casting and bone casting. Two methods of bone casting for complex readings and yes no maybe readings. Also spell jars, herbs, foraging, tea potions, and random spells I learn. I'm considering improving my skills enough to sell bone casting readings which I'm fairly good at. It's been accurate to a scary degree and I have all magical and non magical theory of how it works and how useful it is whether you believe in the magic or not. I like sharing this theory.
