What are your thoughts on Portugal x China?

Controversial. Difficult. Enemies to lovers and enemies again. There's a rivalry that is hard to find out in Portugal most of the time; and Yao knows how to activate that bomb. Because we are talking abut baby favourite, Macau. And Port let him go in the 90's, too much recent.

You could put it like the common child they have, but Port prefers to be single dad on this.

I tried a Nyo!Port x China in a fanfic last year and it became quite good, but they have the harsh thing that never goes. Two old b*tches bothering the other one for eternity. Nice.

Abour supernatural phases, quite elemental because they're both dragons but from different elements: Silver and sea vs. gold and wind.

I joined the Hetalia fandom in 2014, but it is only been about a year since I've been more active on Tumblr. Before that till now, I have been yapping more on my Facebook, haha. You can also find me on AO3 and WordPress as well 🖐🏻

✰ I have so many favourite characters to the point I don't know who my MOST favourite character is 🤣 But you can be sure that I really like Spain, he pays me every month with his fresh vegetables so I talk about him quite a lot here and there 🤣

Some of my favourite ships are the Soviet with the US (SovAme), England with China (Iggychu), Portugal with Macau (PortMac) and (the couple that I'm sure everyone here knows how obsessed I am is 😭) France and Spain (Frain) 🪄✨

You can see right away that I am really into couples that are dramatic and have lots of problems 🤣 One of the reasons I talk more about Spain/Frain on Tumblr is because I feel quite comfortable with the Spain fanbase here, the vast majority of them are friendly and very chill (very much like Spain's personality, haha) 😍

I am a multi-shipper person, so I don't mind meeting with shippers of other couples <3 (I am actually a big fan of Everyone x Spain). So please feel free to ask me about other couples as well <3

✰ I have a lot of different headcanons, most of which are based on the historical and cultural factors of the couple. Because of that, it is difficult for me to mention the issue of ''love'' in the characters' relationships because when you are an embodiment in Hetalia, being able to love and be faithful to one person only is almost impossible.

Also because of being ''physically immortal'', I think it's hard for the characters to have a lasting relationship with humans in general. Hima also has a canon that if humans stay with them for too long, human can have health problems.

So many of them may only have one-night stands with humans, kinda serious dates for a few years if they are too attached to that person, or simply will only interact with humans for work reasons and not for personal feelings.

Whether viewed humorously or seriously, Hetalia gives us interesting material for creating headcanons. Personally, I really like how Hima is open-minded to fanwork in general 😊

THE LUSIAD; or, The Discovery of India of Luis de Camoëns translated from Portuguese by William Julius Mickle

Text in english

The Lusiad, is a Portuguese epic poem authored by the renowned writer Luís Vaz de Camões (c.1524/5 – 1580) and first published in 1572. This exceptional piece of literature is widely regarded as the most important work in the Portuguese language and has been compared to Virgil's "Aeneid" (1st c.  BC). The poem celebrates the historic discovery of a sea route to India by the esteemed Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama (1469–1524) and consists of ten cantos written in ottava rima, totaling 1,102 stanzas."

In a style reminiscent of Homer, the poem focuses on a mythical portrayal of the Portuguese exploratory voyages during the 15th and 16th centuries.   Os Lusíadas is often regarded as the national epic of Portugal, much like how the Ancient Romans revered Virgil's Aeneid, or the Ancient Greeks revered Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. It was composed during Camões' exile in Macau and was first published in 1572, three years after the author's return from the Indies.    Consisting of ten cantos, each with varying stanza counts totaling 1102, the poem is structured in the decasyllabic ottava rima form.  

This form adheres to the rhyme scheme ABABABCC, comprising a total of 8816 lines of verse.   The composition is divided into four distinct sections.   The introduction focuses on establishing the main theme and key characters of the poem.  

An invocation is included, featuring a prayer to the Tágides, the nymphs of the Tagus River. A dedication is also made to Sebastian of Portugal. The narrative begins in medias res, starting in stanza 19 of canto I, with the background story gradually unfolding as the epic progresses.   The epic ends with an epilogue that starts in stanza 145 of canto X. The crucial moment of Os Lusíadas, the arrival in India, is strategically placed at the point in the poem that signifies the division according to the golden section in the opening of Canto VII.

It is such a lovely feeling that fills Jun’s chest when his eyes fall upon Lúcio’s face—upon his soft brown curls, tied messily back at his neck, upon the familiar little freckle beneath his right eye, upon his gaze the color of verdant summertime leaves that remains unchanged, even now.

“Jun!” Lúcio calls, rushing forward, and then they are in each others’ arms. He smiles, and it is still the brightest, most beautiful thing that Jun has ever seen. “Qīn ài de, it’s so good to see you.”

“And you, meu coração…it’s been a long few months.”

Before them is a set of roughly-hewn stone stairs that give way to a little beach, the waves lapping gently at the last few. Side-by-side, they sit on one of the dry steps, their hands entwined. Lúcio leans on Jun’s shoulder, and Jun pulls him close.

“Happy S.A.R. Establishment Day, Jun,” Lúcio says softly.

“Thank you, Lúcio…” Jun trails off. “To think…”

“Hmm?” Lúcio prompts him.

“To think…to think that of all things, this place has stayed the same.”

“It really has been a long time, hasn’t it? Since those days.”

“Do you ever…miss those times?”
