I’m gonna be honest with you all… I forgot this app existed and I got back into dreamsmp which is two embarrassing things I know I know, so first of all here some traditional art (first two are redraws the others are stuff of my au)

I’m so hyper fixated on dsmp again that I’m marking an au and IM WRITING IT!? that’s crazy not even with my kingdom hearts hyperfixation was I that deep.

A Child of Light gets lost in Orbit and lands in the wrong Eden...

“So… what are they?” the First Vessel asks the twins.

“We're just as clueless as you are, Ves,” the Third answers.

The creature… er, person… um, child(?) is about four feet tall. Their skin, like the dry earth, is smooth and hairless. Aside from the top of their head, white with a sprout of a ponytail and a side braid hanging from the right. They’re dressed in what looks like beige pajamas and a tawny cape draping their shoulders. No shoes.

“Where did you find them?” II takes his turn.

IV answers this time, “By the willow tree. We were down by the South River when we saw a shooting star go across the sky. Followed it to the valley, and there they were, lying in the grass.”

Their body’s warm, radiating heat. The center of their chest glows softly like a tiny flame. Everburning without a pulse or a flicker. Behind a terracotta mask, their eyes shine like the ivory of pearls. Wide, fearful, yet curious. No pupils.

“There are no shooting stars in this world,” Vessel states firmly. “Never have been.”

“You don’t think it’s another vessel, do you?” II asks his elder counterpart.

“If Sleep were to send another vessel, we would’ve known about it beforehand,” Vessel tells him, “and I would have known about it before any of you.” He looks back at the small one. The child stands behind IV, clinging to his hoodie. “And besides, it’s unnatural for him to send children anyway.”

Sleep only preyed on the broken. The lost and the faithless. Easier to mold into his making, to reshape to his liking. Children were the opposite of such weaknesses, despite their young minds. Full of hope and innocence.

IV rests a blackened hand on the child’s head, ruffling their hair. “It’s a long walk from the valley to back here at the Temple. Do you think Sleep already knows they’re here?” he wonders.

“Nothing gets past Sleep,” II says, arms folded. “I'm sure he'll turn up eventually.”

“So what do we do with them?” III asks next, bright eyes watching the small one as they took in their surroundings. “We can’t leave them out in the wilderness. If Sleep finds them—”

“Sleep won’t find them,” Vessel says suddenly, shocking himself even. “We’ll hide them.”

“You might as well tell us to hide an apple in a pile of oranges,” IV argues, his hand reaching out to stop the child from wandering off. “Even as rare as Sleep visits, he’ll find the kid eventually.”

“He won’t.” Vessel sounds so sure of himself, but deep down, he knows it’s only a matter of time. “We just need to hide them long enough until we figure out where they came from and how to get them back.”

Vessel doesn’t know why he even cares. A random child dropping into their Garden, unannounced, is unprecedented. And from a shooting star? They didn’t exist in this realm. This entire development was uncanny. He should be informing Sleep of this occurrence.

And yet…

“Do they speak?” he asks IV, who was still wrangling the child before taking them up in his arms.

“They haven’t spoken a word.” IV reaches in one of his pockets and hands the child a pretty black feather, keeping them preoccupied. “I think they might be mute.”

“Peachy,” II groans.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Vessel nods. “Can they at least understand us?”

“They can nod and shake their head to a few questions,” III recounts. “So that's a start?”

“Just peachy,” II repeats. The sky cracks with thunder overhead, dark clouds moving in unnaturally fast to shroud the temple grounds in shadows. “Speak of the devil…”

“Get them inside now,” Vessel quickly shepherds his kin and the child into the temple.

Sleep was coming.
