Decided to try this out

I know this has probably been done before, but wanted to try this out. So I love RPG and D&D; so take this alignment test and a class test. Feel free to choose from the various clans that exist in D&D. And then do this picrew.

Neither of the tests, or the picrew, belong to me btw.

This can be you or an OC btw. I decided to do Fantasy nonsense me.

Alignment

Chaotic good; A chaotic good character acts as their conscience directs them with little regard for what others expect of them. They make their own way, but they are kind and benevolent. They believe in goodness and right but have little use for laws and regulations. They hate it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. They follow their own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment when it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.

Class

Ranger; You are a ranger! Your skillset is a blend of naturalistic knowledge and personal survival skill. Rangers are at home in even the wildest and least hospitable of places, such as vast jungles or suffocating caverns. They are skilled hunters and nimble warriors, a base which they supplement with impressive tracking skills and a vast knowledge of their prey obtained through observation and experience. Some rangers bond with an animal and battle alongside it as a partner, while others practice complex combat maneuvers or place a focus on stealthy ambushes. Some even focus on harnessing the magical power of nature, much like druids. A ranger is a skilled and self-sufficient skirmisher who uses their mobility and skillset to fight effectively at any distance - especially against their favored prey.

Dove, a chaotic good ranger guiding others. Writes stories and knits in their free time. Has a mailing pigeon for messages and letters.

TEXT: wait wait wait! I'm gonna need a little more context than that!

hokay so, ON THIS ALTERNATE REALITY EARTH! for the last handful of decades, this comet would swing by every twenty-ish years and hang out for roughly twelve months of so.

one of the weird things about it is that is always becomes visible to the naked eye during the week of the Cancerid meteor shower, almost as if the meteors were coming from the comet - BUT THAT'S NOT HOW COMETS WORK!!!

every time this bitch shows up, a lot of weird crime happens. weird in a "literally what is the motive for any of this" kind of way. weird in a "reliable witnesses claim the culprit was some kind of eldritch horror" kind of way. weird in a "conspiracy theorist's wet dream" kind of way

authorities have claimed it's a bunch of shit: mass hallucinations caused by some kind of chemical leak, influencer publicity stunts gone horribly wrong, viral marketing gone horrible worse, run of the mill gang activity, miscellaneous cult tomfuckery. and while suspects have been arrested on suspicion, no one has ever been proven guilty

TEXT: okay, cool. so what's REALLY going on?

siblings Morgan and Al Kurosawa, along with their cousin Grant Jardine are each struck by a fallen fragment of the Star Dealer comet, which gives them superhuman abilities and equipment. not long after, they encounter Dirk Silberg, a local entrepreneur, who explains that the arrival of the Star Dealer causes - or potentially coincides with - a thinning of the veil between this world and a realm he calls the Otherworld. from there, a malevolent force known as the Spread launches its invasions to try and snatch up any fallen stars that hadn't found their way into human hosts.

forty years ago, Dirk, along with his twin Drake and their friends Tony and Barb were starstruck, and battled the Spread. sadly, Tony, Barb, and Drake lost their lives fighting

Sentinels, empowered by fragments of the Star Dealer, are the only thing that can halt the Spread

they have special suits they can morph into, which protects them from the corrosive effects of the Otherworld, with weapons and special attacks to help them take on the nasties that dwell there

they are also granted superhuman abilities outside of the suits, like how these guys in the 2017 Power Rangers movie were able to jump crazy distances and crush cell phones with their bare hands (IMAGE: a screenshot from the aforementioned movie, showing Billy, Jason, Trini, Zack, and Kimberly standing in the Command Centre)

the Mecha Will Rise/Bulletpunk figures from Devil Toys are the closest to what I have in mind for the look of Sentinels

skin-tight armour suits that manifest underneath street clothes

funky helmets that reflect the personality of the Sentinel

glove and boot armour

clothing changes colour to match the Sentinel's signature colour(s)

some kind of batshit anime weapon for fighting

definitely going more for style than practicality with these things, because who doesn't wanna look cute when fighting Cthulhu?

TEXT: so I take it you aren't talking about butter?

nope! this ceaseless wave of nightmare fuel wants one thing and one thing only: to monch and cronch on fallen stars. they are single minded in their pursuit, closer to a fire consuming whatever is flammable in its path rather than an intelligence that is working towards a goal

At least, that was the case, until these tarot themed weirdos showed up and started bossing the Spread around! (IMAGES: arrows pointing to four figures - the Empress, a woman with long black hair and pale purple skin and dark purple eyes, associated with the colour silver. the High Priestess, with long pale green hair, darker green skin, and even darker green eyes, associates with the colour purple. the Magician, with a short ocean blue afro, sky blue skin, and pale blue eyes, wearing glasses and associated with the colour red. and the Fool, with long orange hair tied in a pony tail, khaki skin, and golden eyes, associated with the colour yellow)

the Spread are hard to categorize, as they're all chaotically shifting messes of tentacles and teeth. the only exceptions are the very rare, very powerful, and distinctly humanoid looking Abominations

SLIDE EIGHT

TEXT: hold up, you mentioned something about angles at the start of this!?!?

thankfully, not everything in the Otherworld is out to kill you! looking like something of a cross between the angles from Bayonetta and Greco-Roman marble statues, are the Courts. in contrast to the chaotic Spread, the Courts have an orderly hierarchy. ruled by a King and Queen, every Court is defended by Rooks, advised by Bishops, while the Knights lead Pawns in their battle against the Spread. they are quick to ally themselves with the Sentinels

the assorted Courts are all named after metals (the Court of Gold, the Court of Iron, etc), and the rarer the metal, the more influential the Court

the exception to this rigid societal structure is the Court of Gems, which is composed entirely of Knights, and are even more single minded in their desire to wipe the Spread out than the rest of the Courts are

SLIDE NINE

TEXT: overview of the Otherworld

the Otherworld is a reflection of our world - the landscape and structures of here have mirror copies there. organic things, such as plants and animal life, do not have Otherworld counterparts, however. beyond the Courts and the Spread, the Otherworld is lifeless.

it's divided into two distinct locations - the Heights and the Depths. the Depths are especially deadly, as it's blanketed by a corrosive cloud roughly 100m tall. without protection, organic life does not last long in the Depths. the Heights, in contrast, are corrosion free.

the Courts make their homes in the upper floors of skyscrapers

the Spread live in the dips and valleys of the landscape, surging up onto higher ground whenever they sense a fallen star nearby. when inactive, they just look like an inky black, viscous ocean

TEXT: so sum this shit up for me…

a comet swings by every twenty years and (potentially!?!?) shits debris all over the place

if a comet dropping hits a person, they become a Sentinel

if it lands on the ground, the fragment shifts the area around it into the Otherworld

drawn by the power of the fallen star, the Spread destroy everything in their path to get to it, people and buildings alike

in order to protect those around them, Sentinels need to hunt down these comet fragments and find a way to safely dispose of them

but how are Morgan, Al, and Grant going to deal with all this?

does Dirk have ulterior motives for helping them?

if Sentinels happen every time, why no mention of the team from twenty years ago?

what is going on with that tarot team?

if they've been fighting the Spread this long, why haven't the Courts succeeded yet?

all these questions (and more!) will be answered… once I actually fucking write this thing!

Nick Russell and Jack Rose joke au kid;

Will be linked into Nick’s au kid page when I get to him lol. The just dance verse is only tangentially related but I got crossover fic and they do have their own power ranger team. If only those four had names or I’d include them too. These kids are a little special as just dance related so they get picrew and a song they’d be the coach of in the game.

Jack temporarily escaped into the earth dimension sitting beside the Just Dance verse with Team Spectronizer, the power ranger team for the Just Dance verse. Jack met Minh Qwan, Billy Cranston and Zack Taylor while there, developing into a sort of adoptive sibling to Minh. While there he also encountered Nick Russell and the Mystic Force team. Nick and Jack hit into an immediate rivalry. Similar to Tommy Oliver and Jason Lee Scott, and barely got along at all. Teasing, pranking and fighting each other. At one point Jack breaks his hand (and Nick’s nose) punching him in the face, and at another Nick loses fifty bucks in a backfired attempt to embarrass Jack.

When Night Swan came to collect her son, she almost succeeded in turning Nick Russell and Ollie Akana into Night Selves, evil versions of themselves. Jack managed to get them both to safety. Once everything was said and done, months after that, Jack came back to live in the home town and reality Leda abandoned, and Nick was there waiting. Deciding to give it a go after it all. They’re together, but don’t live together. Nick made their kids through magic, and Jack visits often, splitting his time between his responsibilities in one world and his family in another. They have two children, Stryfe and Wren Russell.

Stryfe Russell

Age 26. Runs a vintage music and music related retro item store in Briarwood. The one time he went to visit his sister, he got into a slight situation that lead to him being the Coach to the song Dive by Lost Frequencies and Tom Gregory

A bit of a charmer, a little bit of a skirt chaser, but often gets easily flustered if people flirt back. He was mainly raised in Briarwood with his sister, but they did go see Jack on weekends. Less impulsive or brash than his sister, Stryfe manages to live up to his name by being an over thinker and his overthinking causing a lot of problems in general. However he’s also a good source of advice. He just never follows any advice he personally gives out. Respects his sister’s choices to live in Eternyx, but recognizes while he loves music…he has no sense of rhythm. It is something he’s embarrassed about. He’s only managed to dance well once. Is trying to make peace with it, all things considered. He is however a very proficient sorcerer. Not interested in universe domination, just interested in making things a little more fun or interesting or easy for those he loves. Is really close to his mystic grandparents, perhaps a bit more than his mystic father. He and Wren are observed closely but neither of them are showing any signs of villainy. To Jack and Nick’s deep relief. Not associated with a color.

Wren Russell

Age 22. She is the current Red Ranger of Team Spectronizer and Solo Coach of the song Armor by Iniko

While she was raised in the Enchanted Realm with Nick and her Mystic grandparents she is a dance instructor in Eternyx. She uses mystic magic in tandem with flow, and calls herself the groove witch. She’s very job oriented, whether that means dance instructor or ranger, and often has to be reminded by brother or parents to slow down, to breathe, to just be for a bit. She’s intense, with better social skills than either parent. She’s not exactly friendly but she’s not prickly either. Comfortable in her own skin and at peace with her strange heritage. Growing up she was apprenticed to Xander, and had secondary teachings by Rita Repulsa over the matter of her dark sorceress grandmother. If anyone could handle any darkness popping up in the girl, it’d be Rita. She has a penchant for feathers, and is as intense about perfectionism as Leda was before she met Traveler, but that is all.

She has a girlfriend, the current Yellow Wynona. Wynona grounds Wren like nobody else. While she loves her brother and he’s a great source of advice, Wynona is the rock Wren can settle on when things get rough. They compliment each other well.

im sending 3 bc i want you to talk about three of them. i want one of them to be a headcanon about your birdcraft character and the other two you to be free range

oh god you've given me too much power.

hm i don’t really have a lot of hcs about my birdcraft character! i’ve realized i’ve kinda been playing them as someone who listens to anyone who claims to have any authority, whether or not that authority’s real (like with kiwi). idk what this means but. fun.

the other two characters are gonna be adriana and rosie!

adriana (she/they) is an earth genasi eloquence bard/wild magic sorcerer (LITERALLY SUCH A GOOD MULTICLASS. i never wanna play anything else.) in the “arcanis” campaign.

adriana and their wife, lavender (she/they), were traveling performers who performed for the high ranking, rich people in the city they were from. one day, during one of these performances, adriana’s wild magic surge activated for the first time and accidentally killed a noble. adriana and lavender were arrested for treason and set to be executed. adriana planned an escape but only managed to get out alone. she plans to track down lavender again and break her out, but she has no idea if they’re still alive.

rosie (she/her) was my first ever motw character for the “as it was” campaign. she was a flake and also some sort of all knowing monster in secret (i don’t think i ever told the other players about that actualky so uh. hi guys. that was my secret.) in order to have an in-universe explanation for the move where i could always tell when people were lying to me (with our interpretation this was whether or not the person lying knew they were lying).

rosie hart grew up bouncing around from foster home to foster home. when she was around 9, she was attacked by a monster in the woods around one of these homes. the adults in her life brushed it off as having been some sort of animal (reasonably), but rosie started developing strange powers and also lots of eyes where there shouldn’t be eyes. she quickly realized she could do a glamour on these without really thinking about it- when she first tried to show someone one of the eyes they couldn’t see it, it actually took her more time to figure out how to get rid of the glamour than put it up. this just became a staple of her life after a while that she never ever told anyone about. around age 15 she got a stable home with an older woman named josephine. she went to school to get a botony degree and planned to become a park ranger before finding the amusement park ad and subsequently becoming a dimension traveling world saving guy.

i do wish we’d gotten to do more with as it was, it genuinely had one of my favorite parties i’ve ever run into because everyone was so uniquely weird and entertaining and they had such fun chemistry. alas.
