under the knife, once again

These past few months i’ve been trying to diagnose this higher-speed-handling issue this old lady has been throwing at me.

Any turn going faster that 40mph will start out fine, until a random shift in the rear makes the car feel like its in a drift and makes the car want to steer super sharp into the direction.

At lower speeds there are all kinds of squeaks and creaks coming from the rear end, so I’ve recently installed some nismo lower control arms. This saved me the labor of pressing in new bushings and ball joints at a hefty $350. Thankfully lots of that noise went away.

This also made the car feel more responsive, but the random rear-end sway on freeways and touge was still there.

I just purchased some solid subframe bushings and some new door strikers (my passengers have to literally slam the door for it to shut).

Though after the subframe bushings, the car will be built from the ground up, literally. From every control arm to the clear coat that sits nicely under the sunset.

Handmade like a ferrari? But this time its a 30-year-old Nissan. Still the most fun machine to operate and looks as good as it feels.

Edit: subframe bushings fixed the issue :-))) found more parts that need replacing along the way. :-(((
