"Nope. I've got my lovely lady Maleficent on my arm, and we're goin' strong. Y'know, it's nice to have a ghoulfriend who really understands my need for power, revenge, rage, and chaos. She gets me and lights a fire inside of me!"

do you get upset that maleficent has usurped you as the most iconic villain when your film came out before hers did?

"Maleficent is the Mistress of All Evil. There is little sense in attempting to rival her in such a manner. After all, she would never attempt to usurp me as the Fairest One of All, and as long as all know that I am the most beautiful and radiant of the villains and the original villain, I care very little for anything further."

You and Maleficent sound very similar... any reason for that?

"It is, of course, an honor to be compared so favorably to @powersofhell. I've long admired the authority in her voice. Though any similarities are merely coincidental."

How did it feel to be under Maleficent's trance? Were you frightened in the moment or were you mostly unaware of what was transpiring?

"It was such a strange experience that I won't soon forget. For the first time in my life, I approached the presence of a void of sorts...the best way to express the sensation would be through the parallel of paints vanishing from a painter's easel. The colors of my mind seemed to quell...and..." she didn't wish to continue, her expression stilling uncharacteristically.

“I must admit, when I saw the Sleeping Death in my spellbook, I certainly thought of you, my dear! I cackled at how perfectly it all lined up with what you’d told me all those years ago. Your little fairy must have had some knowledge of the dark arts to know how best to soften your spell. I do wonder if she’s been up to something more insidious than she lets on...”

do you and grimhilde share magic, as both of you put your princesses into a sleeping death?

"To be precise, my curse was not meant to be one of sleep, but, rather, one of death. It was that fool Merryweather's doing that softened my spell into a mere sleeping curse. Now, to your inquiry, Grimhilde and I both possess powerful dark magic, and black arts often overlap. With that said, my magic is that of the Unseelie fae whilst hers is the witchcraft of Bald Mountain. We've different sources of our powers, and though we may share ideas and techniques in conversation, mixing magics themselves can be quite dangerous indeed."

Maleficent, since you are a lady of evil and refinement, would you say you wish to be addressed as such?

"Respect is of the utmost importance to me, my pet. Address me in any other manner at your own peril!"

Did the Good Fairies ever let you dress up for Halloween as a child, and if they did, what was your favorite costume to wear?

"My aunts were always such dears- they would find any excuse they could to adorn me in all the many contents of their shared chests! Though I often had to...tailor many of the ornaments they would bestow upon me, it was always such a happy time. Of them all, I'd chance to say my very favorite costume had been when Aunt Fauna fashioned me as a budding tree! It was quite a time ago, when I was a very small child. She secured a string of pearl grapes upon my forehead and a crown of foliage- it was quite the scene!" her heart expanded as memories of bygone holidays danced through her psyche. "We would always end the night by embracing one another by the chimney. There, Aunt Flora would dictate, in hushed tones, the important history of this marked day. Aunt Merryweather would chime in to warningly remind me to take care and not venture outside the confines of the cottage at nighttime. Especially on this, of all, nights. They mentioned spirits, of some sort, roaming freely throughout the forest, in search of something- but...but they always ended the tale there, never going on to tell me the names of these spirits nor what they were in search of. One year, I had prepared to ask- only to hear the fluttering of wings by the rooftops. It alerted my Aunts, and they rushed me into a secret hiding place. A place where there were no walls and therefore, according to my Aunt Flora, no 'ears."

Do you ever find it difficult to sleep after what you went through with the curse?

"Quite the contrary! Sleep has always proved to be my medicine, as indeed it had been in that instance. While the framework appeared to be of a curse, that period was an extraordinarily challenging one. There were so many colors to add to my mind's palette- the discovery of a Mother and Father, my royal duty, the shifting setting of a humble woodland cottage to a grand castle. Had I not been afforded slumber repose, I don't know how I would've grown accustomed to it all. And because of it, I received the title that most recognize me by. There are worse things in the world than being known as Sleeping Beauty, you know."

Do you believe that there's any good inside of Maleficent or do you think she's just pure evil?

"It depends entirely on what you believe might be 'good.' Aunt Fauna and Merryweather are forever quarrelling on this point. For myself, I believe the devil may possess its own set of charms. As for every individual's fundamental nature, that's beyond my grade to assign."

you always talk about your mom but is there something about your dad you like

"Father is as dear to my heart as Mother is! I adore them both so. Where Mother is warm, caring, and ever so vibrant, Father is the very pinnacle of imagination, sophistication, and considerate beyond belief. There are so many more qualities about my Father which I cherish, though I'll leave you with something of a recent discovery. I hadn't known until the other day that my Father took care to write all the invitations to my christening with his own hand. Of course, he is an expert at script, but what makes this all the more special is the sheer quantity of notices he must've crafted. You know, he took heed not to exclude any from the great ceremony...well, apart from one omission. But see how she, too, came and left her mark."

were aurora and snow white with you while they were in the sleeping curse? do you and maleficent ever discuss them?

“Not quite. See, sleep and death are twin brothers, and so my domain, the Underworld, shares a border with the Dream World. Normally, when mortals catch some zetas, their minds go to the Dream World until they rise and shine, but gals under a sleeping curse are different. See, the Dream World ain’t exactly built for long term residents, but the Underworld is exclusively for the dead and dearly departed. So, victims of a sleeping curse wind up somewhere in between, straddling that border for all eternity or until twue wuv’s kiss wakes ‘em up. We call that spot the Dream Netherworld. It’s... funky. That’s where Snow and Aurora wound up. Oh, and yes, Malef and I dish it out all the time. Trust me, I know the whole story.”

how would you describe diablo?

"I've always found myself so fascinated by Diablo. He isn't an ordinary bird by any means."

Just letting you all know, I am always still happy to do my answered asks here on my main blog, and you can continue to send me questions for any of the Overtakers on my list. I love writing for them and answering questions for them.
