DBS ANIME CONTINUITY:

Present Mai DOES NOT like kid Trunks. She likes Future Trunks. She even gets mad when Pilaf tells her to like kid Trunks instead.

Anyway tho i think abt a loootttt abt how goten and trunks are probably very jealous of each other and think the other has it better lol…..when they were kids goten was probably very jealous of the fact that trunks had a dad while trunks was probably jealous of goten having a caring older brother like gohan bc really both of them were missing something fundamental: goten was missing a father figure and trunks had a father but he didn’t actually have an older man emotionally present in his life for a long time

More interestingly, though, Trunks mentions seeing a figure that resembled him, and admittedly, Ninazu could not contain a laugh, particularly as the two boys did the same.

❝Believe it or not, you were technically there, Trunks,❞ she leans forward from her seat, crossing one leg over the other. ❝Just not… actually you, because you were just a baby at the time. But… would you believe me if I told you that a future version of you came back in time to help us fight off the androids?❞

❝He's very different from you, admittedly. He's a lot shier, maybe a bit more socially awkward… but he's got a good heart, just like you do. He's been through a lot in his own timeline, but he risked so much to come back in time in order to help us. He's a hero in his own right.❞ Thoughtfully, she stares off into the distance, Trunks' memory filling her mind and motivating the longing sigh she utters. ❝He's back in his own time, now. And I don't know when, or even if, he'll ever come back. I… miss him.❞

Shaking herself of her sullen attitude, she wears a smile, directing it toward the young boys.

❝But it's all okay. Maybe he'll come back someday and you'll get to meet him. He's a wonderful person, I think you'd both like him.❞

i think it's so sweet goku handwaves this compliment (even though i'm sure vegeta would find it condescending considering his reaction to ssj3). despite everything that happened, goku's still doing his best not to mess with the image of vegeta that trunks had.

it's also a nice little moment for trunks, considering this was his first reaction to seeing goku.

trunks has got a bit of an ego, and he could certainly use some pointers on things to say to your bff when his dad comes back from the dead, but he isn't so stuck up he'll ignore reality. even when he realizes goku's stronger than vegeta, he's not upset or jealous - he's excited and happy to have his help against buu. it's little moments like this that show that while growing up with vegeta (and a bulma who's not trying to survive the apocalypse) has made present trunks a little more selfish and a little less polite than future self we spent the past few seasons with, he's still ultimately the same kind-hearted person.

Don’t know if you’ve heard about this new dbs arc and I just wanted to know your thoughts on it? Also, what do you think about the Trunks x Mai pairing?

I saw, yeah. I'm personally p ambivalent about it- I hope its good but I'll just keep my expectations low :T

And yeah I really hope they drop the whole Mai thing now. 1. It's weird but 2. Supers version of Mai is boring, so we get all the creep factor but none of the weird fun personality- so like what's even the point? Guess I'm glad F trunks gets to be (sorta) happy tho

But 'apocalyptic hellscape lady w a shotgun' should not be this hard to sell to me (눈_눈)
